Yknow, these two are a really interesting pair aren't they?
In multiple sense. Can't lie. I really do think Marcu would be here in that moment with Ennio. Probably not knowing how to feel...angry, resentful but also...sad?
Like...how did things get this way yknow? Was there REALLY...no other way out? I'm sure both of them pondered this question many many times through out their lives but always came to the conclusion that...no. This was it. They can't go back. I feel like Salieri would want the old times more back then Marcu. I feel like Marcu is at peace with how it went down. Even if it was bad.
Man, if Mafia 4 really will be a prequel about Salieri... I need his relationship with Marcu to be explored more! It's a big part of their lives yknow? It deserves more attention.

samuel trapani expert @mdemn i have a report for you
played this mission after Frank's 'death' and was able to talk to sam
Tumblr media
Don being angry at me JUST for staying in the bar for a little longer?? Why Sam? Are you THAT scared? Also in czech he used a softer and almost childish version for the word 'angry'. Remember he's a fucking dick in the original and this is so out of character
you can talk to salieri as well!

Do you ever think about what you'd like to see in a Mafia 4?
Honestly I hadn’t thought too much about it 😬 and that’s why it took me a few days to respond, but I really appreciate the question! This is kinda what I’ve been thinking:
I think a lot of people here on tumblr are expecting or wanting to see Ennio Salieri and Frank Colletti in Italy, and while I think playing as Salieri would be interesting, watching the character/player become even more removed from humanity, or even playing as Frank, enduring the slow betrayal, but I don’t think that’s really what I want.
If the game were to be a prequel I’d really like to see Leo Galante and Frank Vinci, I think playing as Leo and seeing how his loyalty to Frank is the cause of Frank becoming the don and Leo consigliere. It would maybe mirror Joe and Vito’s relationship in a way, but not exactly, and continue with the theme of loyalty being a fatal flaw. I don’t know a lot about Leo but if there had to be a prequel I think I’d like to see it with him.
If we moved further along the timeline, I think I’d like to see a game in the 70’s-80’s, and maybe in the southwest this time, like California or Arizona. Maybe the pc is part of a gang that runs the casino(s), the player gets to see the highs of what cash can give you, and the lows of being without it (kinda like Ray Liotta’s character in goodfellas). I’d like to see the game continue the pattern of loyal to a fault and I’m not sure if I’d like to see the character be a loser or a winner, but I’d like to see an internal struggle.
As far as gameplay goes, I like the choices and non-linear playability of M3, and the world had interesting points and fun missions, but I’d like to see a little more variety in missions (that aren’t dlc) and a world that’s a little more interactive, ie. clothing shops, car shops, hidden collectibles like clothing, cars, or weapons, and maybe some npcs that aren’t directly related to the main story that can give little side quests or lore and really fill out the world. I think one other thing I’d really like is more interaction with the npcs, specifically the friends/allies of the mc, and being able to explore them each individually kind of like what M3 did.

As much as I love Mafia:Definitive Edition. I feel like there could’ve been more.
Focus on Tommy’s family life prior to joining Salieri’s family. If we could learn about Vito’s family life in Mafia II. I see no reason why we couldn’t for Tommy. Okay originally I came up with my own backstory for Tommy, but found out there was a backstory for Tommy. From Tommy’s wiki Tommy was born in Sicily on April 5, 1900, the third and youngest child of Marco Angelo, Sr., a plantation supervisor, and Maria Angelo. He had two older siblings: Marco Jr. and Isabella. The Angelos emigrated to America in 1904 when Tommy was four years old, after the plantation was foreclosed by a moneylender which sent the Angelos into poverty. Tommy and his family then arrived at Empire Bay on Christmas Day after a month at sea, eventually settling in Lost Heaven. Tommy's father found work at the Lost Heaven Harbor where he worked for fifteen years until his death. Aside from that, I really wish we got to see Tommy’s relationship with his mother and siblings.
More on Tommy’s relationship with Sarah. Really wish we could’ve seen more Tommy and Sarah interactions. First date, their wedding and their first time and seeing Tommy spending time with Sarah and his children. Just Angelo domestic stuff before Tommy has to do time.
More on his friendship with Sam and Paulie. I know it’s the core theme of the game, but I feel like more could’ve been done. Just seeing them working rackets together without Morello putting the squeeze on them. Having fun in their Night Clubs. Seeing Tommy and Sam being elevated to Capo. and Paulie just being Paulie lol
Show more of the Salieri-Morello war. I feel like not enough was shown. Sure we killed Sergio and Ghillotti and eventually Morello himself. But we never got to see the full scale war. It felt small. So my proposal see the Morello family hitting the bar and eventually Tommy, Paulie and Sam hit them back. The mission would end with Tommy, Sam and Paulie wacking Lou and Dino and torching Morello’s bar to the ground. I think this is something that should have happened cause we never got to see Lou and Dino again after the second mission and I think it would be Tommy properly paying them back for trying to kill him.
More of the life of seeing The Salieri Family on on top in Lost Haven. See how it affects Tommy, Sam, Paulie, Sarah, Ralphie, VInnie and Luigi.
Show Tommy surviving prison. Evading and stopping every attempt on his life in prison.
Finally, show the trial of Don Ennio Salieri. Show us Tommy’s testimony. These quotes from Mafia II’s loading screen  could’ve been used “I became a criminal because I did not want to become a victim. Lost Heaven is rotten to its core. Even the police and politicians are in hock to Mr. Salieri or his associates. And a wider network most certainly exists between gangs in other American cities and even overseas. I am describing a way of life that was brought over from the lemon groves of Palermo fifty years ago and hasn't changed one bit - an honored society which operates above the law. I witnessed at least fifteen occasions where murders were sanctioned by Ennio Salieri himself. He orders the deaths of his employees and clients in the same way that a gardener pulls weeds from his flower bed. At all times we operated with layers of deniability. The boss passed orders down the ranks, and each rank distanced itself from the crime. Mugs like me and Paulie took the risks, while the top guys sat comfortably and safely in their homes. Bootlegged alcohol brought in a lot of money, but that wasn't it. I knew pimps, loan sharks, forgers, and smugglers who operated under license from Salieri and kicked money back to him. When you are a member of these gangs, your life is based on violence and will most likely end violently. Very few men who choose this line of work die a natural death. Ennio Salieri preys on people's fears of losing what they have, so they become obedient to the protection he promises them. If a regular guy like me could kill the most powerful man in the city, what good was all his power? It seemed to me that no matter how strong someone is, there'll always be somebody stronger to clip his wings. When you work for the mafia, you're respected by the people you meet. Everybody knows you can help them, but you can also destroy their lives. The choice is yours. Most guys get into this line of work because of a thirst for power. They don't care about anybody's rules other than their own. Look at what happened during Prohibition - a handful of poor, uneducated immigrants from Sicily became stronger than all the laws, courts, and police here in the States. That took some doing. You know, the world isn't run by laws written on paper. It's run by people - some according to laws, others not. It depends on each individual how his world will be, how he makes it. There is no such thing as honor among thieves. These men take oaths of loyalty, but to their bosses these pledges are simply means to sanction murder and justify reprisals. The guy who wants too much risks losing absolutely everything. Of course, the guy who wants too little from life might not get anything at all.“ Could’ve done more to word it better, but you get the picture.  Also Imagine if we got to see Tommy doing this at the end of the game, boy imagine the looks on Don Salieri’s face

salieri's no cursing rule is so goddamn funny like what the fuck? was that in the original? i could kind of understand then because i know tcolh didn't have a lot of profanity so maybe it's used as an explanation, and...maybe in the remake it's a joking reference to that, i guess, but like actually what the hell? you can kill a man but saying "shit" is too far. this man really has a stick so far up his ass it's a miracle he can bend over

MAFIA DE ୨୧ ❛ Si el trío de lost heaven perteneciera a una película sobre mafias (mi opinión) ❜ ᵎᵎ
Tumblr media
୨୧ : tommy angelo | GOODFELLAS (1990)
dir. Martin Scorsese
Tumblr media
୨୧ : sam trapani | THE GODFATHER (1972)
dir. Francis Ford Coppola
Tumblr media
୨୧ : paulie lombardo | THE IRISHMAN (2019)
dir. Martin Scorsese
Tumblr media

Sergio Morello Jr. headcanons:
he is indeed a lucky bastard, not just by surviving lots of assassination attempts, but also with women and in games
he probably spends a lot of time in casinos (or at least did before there were assassination attempts)
at first, Salieri saw him as the sort of “irresponsible playboy who spends all the money and doesn’t do shit” younger brother and looked down on him
eventually, Sergio proved he’s very smart and ruthless with his enemies, which at first Salieri was impressed by, but then got a bit jealous (because Sergio was practically all that he was but more intelligent and handsome, luckier, younger, with blood relation to Marcu)
he loves music and probably plays the piano well (read it here and cannot get the idea out of my head; in the remake he literally is the type of villain who would be playing the piano at night in his mansion lmao)
he loves saying that he represents his brother, he loves when Marcu calls him little brother, but cannot stand when other people refer to him as “Morello’s little brother”
his and Marcu’s father probably died/disappeared from his life when Sergio was very young, so he always looked up to Marcu and idolized their absent father (that’s why he takes pride in saying “Do you know who I am? I’m a Morello!”, because he believes in the grandeur of the name)
maybe their father wasn’t really all that glorious, but he doesn’t know that - maybe he just believes in the stories that his mother and older brother would tell him (how he was a saint and how everyone respected him) - but maybe they just made those stories up the fact he was just a crook who ran off or something and Marcu eventually had to be the provider and protector of the family
their mother probably lives in some nice house Marcu bought for her in the countryside, and both her sons come there for sunday lunches sometimes (she’s a sweet confused old lady who thinks Marcu is in politics or something. and she actually remembers Salieri as Marcu’s friend and mentions him sometimes at the table, not knowing that they are no longer friends hehe)
while Ennio and Marcu are too focused on their fight, Sergio actually enjoys the créme de la créme lifestyle, and has a reputation of a playboy
he can be actually very charming and a great company, but once he gets mad he turns psycho
even back when they all used to work together, he would casually insult Frank (+ mockingly calling him “old sport”); Frank would always ignore it, and Sergio would be like “I’m just joking, old sport” while Frank just looks at him like ‘fuck you too’
generally speaking, he uses the words “pal”, “buddy” and “old sport” as derogatory terms for people he can’t stand
but I believe he would get along perfectly with Vincenzo (they both seem to have passion for what they’re doing, and enjoying the adrenaline of that - also from the cigarette card, we know that Vincenzo likes to brag about himself lol, and that’s definitely something Sergio would also do). so maybe they used to get along, but Vincenzo is fiercely loyal to Salieri, and when the Morellos try to assassinate him, he does not hesitate to go after Sergio (and takes it as a challenge, which excites him since Sergio “has a lucky rabbit’s foot up his ass”)
he definitely cares about expensive nice cars, and it was probably his idea to get Morello involved in the racing and sponsor Lichtenberg
he knows that if he pisses Marcu off, all it takes is to call him “Don Morello” to get back on his good side
he is very superstitious and believes that the small routines bring him luck, so he always wears a “lucky tie” or uses one specific gun. breaking these routines makes him nervous - and of course when his life is in danger, he has to change his habits, and it never feels right

Frank Colletti's fate is a foreshadowing of Tommy Angelo's one:
-Frank left and ratted out the Salieri Family because he was both coerced into doing so and because he was tired of the Mafia life, tired of lying to his wife and having to constantly look over his shoulder. Eventually he ends up getting killed.
-Tommy left and ratted out the Salieri Family because he grew disillusioned with the Mafioso lifestyle, tired of killing and risking his life for Ennio Salieri, a Don who has betrayed the values the Mafia stood for. Eventually he ends up getting killed.
