WILL'S PUB, ORLANDO

When Will Walker opened a pub on Orlando's N Mills Ave in 1995 he says it was soon "colonized by the music community" and almost a quarter century later remains a cornerstone of the city's indie music scene.  Now five years after local artist William Joseph Krowl, aka Dolla Short, marked the site with this mural, it also remains a fresh symbol of the venue and the neighborhood in general—at least the majority who have welcomed the influx of artists in the face of complaints about the hipsterization of the neighborhood. Originally from New Jersey, where he spent his youth painting his name in bubble letters, Dolla Short's art landed him in trouble in Orlando and now when he can't find permissioned walls to paint he spends his time transforming spaces for clients up to and including the largest of Orlando's theme parks.  @dolla_short_am7/  @thepublife/  @mills50district/
