Wait a sec. You claim you aren't a toxic blog and yet you publicly criticize someone else's fanfic? You may not agree with what they wrote but that is their creative work, their interpretation of the character. And it is most certainly spreading toxicity in the fandom to publicly bash their work. That's fucking messed up.
???????
I’m confused as to why you sent me this. When Anon first told me about the fic, they also asked me for my opinion as well as an analysis for Ayato’s characteristics and if he was more/less likely to throw out his child through a window, in which I did give in the end. I never bashed about the plot, grammar, sentence structure, etc. however, I wasn’t going to sugarcoat things either. I only narrowed it to how the writer portrayed Ayato because it’s quite problematic. It doesn’t align to what Ayato would do in the canon events in his good endings, and this confuses Western fans all the time because no one really plays the games! Many just watch the anime and eat up whatever it fed them! Some people may think that Ayato would do such a horrendous thing when it’s implied by the author that he’s already in a good ending with Yui. Do you see the problem with that now?
My blog has never been toxic. I don’t conduct witch hunts on people nor do I go out of my way to harass anyone. I generally stay in my lane and ignore the drama because I hate it. I’m an imagines blog, for crying out loud. Why people come to me and ask me questions about the series is something I cannot speculate because I cannot read their minds. I don’t know why people come to me and ask me about DL. I encourage them to come and chat with me about the series, but many of my asks would always like to see my view of things. It can’t be helped. I don’t control my followers’ daily lives and make them come ask me these things. This is something you must understand. I have no control over it.
On another note, to answer Anon’s questions, I had to publicly answer it. It wasn’t like they messaged me through their blog and revealed their identity to me. It was through anonymous. I had no choice but to answer it through my blog and publish it because you can’t privately answer back to Anons on Tumblr.
Now on to the main course. You’re gravely mistaken to think that it’s so wrong of me to criticize someone’s writing works. This is the Internet, is it not? Everything you post on it can never be truly hidden from net citizens, such as us. What, did you think that only the writer’s friends or parents could read their writing works? You’re being a little bit of an idealist over here, and I understand where you’re coming from, but I’m going to be a brutally honest realist here and say that I think something you should keep in mind is that when you post stuff online, you should always be prepared for different responses, feedback, and commentary. Not everyone will always agree with you. Writing can never be perfected; you can constantly improve and revise your writing, but it will never hit true perfection. It’s impossible. You should be open to criticism so that you can improve on your skills and perhaps your writing style too. I was a writer for many years before I joined the DL fandom and wrote imagines. I was a fan-fiction writer for other fandoms too before I joined Tumblr and changed my writing platforms. I’ve taught and tutored people on how to write. Heck, I’m even working as a paid writing tutor for the writing center at my university right now! I know what it means to have my writing work be admired or criticized. I’m no stranger to that, and I think writers in general can relate to this too.
What I did was not “fucking messed up.” I gave back my criticism because I was asked and you know what? Character portrayal in the DL fandom is still a hot button issue today. People still don’t have a good grasp as to what each character is like. They still stereotype them into different character tropes and look over how complex each character actually is and what kind of unique traits they each possess. If you look back on my response to that Anon, you can see that I supported my analysis with canon facts, events, and implications that I saw from the DL series while thinking critically about Ayato’s overall character. I never called the writer any nasty names or the like. I’m sure their fic was well-written for it to be this popular and reach the Western fandom. I was just disappointed by how the writer portrayed Ayato because he wouldn’t act like that in the first place. It’s just so OOC for him to do, and I just wanted to voice out my thoughts too. Constructive criticism isn’t toxicity that’s spreading in this fandom. Look at the bigger picture. There are WAY MORE WORST issues that we are currently facing besides my analysis of a character in a writing work. Trust me on this, you’re barking up on the wrong tree.
Please go back and read my response to that Anon. I tried my best to be objective and factual with my opinion and analysis overall. I never want to promote toxicity or harm onto anyone.
And for Christ’s sake, instead of messaging me on Anon and trying to tell me what I can/can’t do, message me through your blog and we can have an actual civil conversation/chat about this! We can work things out. Otherwise I get the impression that you’re targeting me for hostile reasons, and I am less inclined to actually take you seriously. Please come talk to me and strike up a convo with me through your blog instead of sending me Anonymous messages like this. We can talk it out like adults through there. Otherwise I’m left with no choice but to publish my response to you through my blog and have all of my followers see this mess.

There's a difference between "I don't interpret this story as romantic" and "I'm weird about women". You've admitted yourself you don't care about the Princess and obsess over the voices, and I've never seen you acknowledge the fact that the protagonist hurts the princess as well.
First of all: Those are bold words to say to someone who’s first and favourite ending was and is the Leave Together Stranger one! (I jest, I jest, but seriously-)
Second of all:
????
I don't understand how you came to that conclusion? Where did I say that the protagonist doesn’t hurt the princesses?? Or that I don’t care about the Princesses? I’m genuinely confused. In my posts, I’ve never mentioned the princess hurting the protagonist (besides my one moment of clarity post). The only place I bring up the princess hurting the protagonist is in my fanfic. For clarification: My fic also has the protagonist hurt the princess, which creates a downwards spiral that leads to the Unending Dawn ending.
Third of all: I said I prefer the most of the voices over most of the princesses. There’s a big leap to go from “This person likes the voices better because they appear more often so its easier to get attached to them” to “This person is weird about women.”
