To quickly note, I received this for free from Wishtrend for my honest review.

This sunscreen contains 50 ml (1.69 oz) and has a slight sunscreen scent.

The texture of the sunscreen is very creamy and it's not super heavy or anything.

It is very much a mineral sunscreen and it's very white and does take some blending.

It's a very hydrating formula and it does blend out without too much of a white cast or undertone.

So I feel that the flashback isn't terrible on this sunscreen but it's definitely something to take into account especially if you have darker skin or a tan.

Recommended use is to evenly apply a proper amount onto areas easily exposed to sunlight at the final stage of the skincare routine. This sunblock is cruelty-free, pH balanced, vegan-friendly, and provides protection against blue light in addition to UV rays. After using, I definitely found this to be more hydrating and moisturizing than their Aqua Soothing UV Protector. This one definitely caters to normal to dry skin but it does contain fragrance and some irritants. I found that this product does blend out better than the Aqua Soothing UV Protector and it immediately gives a hydrated, even dewy finish and doesn't take as much effort to meld with the skin. Despite the irritants, I did find this to be a very soothing product and it didn't irritate the eyes at all for me. I do find this does pill when pushed about too much on the skin and under makeup. I'd recommend this to people with sensitive skin and to people with dry and dehydrated skin as well.

What I like: this has a good hydrating formula with a dewy finish and it does tone the skin mildly. It's gentle around the eyes and there's not any real noticeable scent. What I don't like: there are some irritants including fragrance and it does pill up under makeup. It also can leave a white cast unless you have very fair skin.

Eryfotona Actinica Ultralight Emulsion SPF 50+ helps to protect against UVA- and UVB induced sunburn, prevent sun damage and early signs of aging, support repair of already damaged skin, and decrease the risk of skin cancer if combined with other sun safety measures, such as limiting exposure during peak hours and wearing protective clothing. Eryfotona Actinica works to not only protect skin, but prevent actinic damage. It is important to target actinic keratoses (AKs) before they potentially transform to invasive squamous cell carcinoma.

A ton of dermatologists had been recommending this one and I was extremely impressed with the overall formulation and clean ingredient list. It prevents and reduces occurrence of pre-cancerous lesions via the DNA repairsome technology which won a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2015. I knew I had to review this one when Dr Noelle Sherber decided to stock this in her boutique.

We also spoke to Dr Dan Yarosh, one of the pioneers of DNA repair enzymes and this sunscreen was one of the products that had his seal of approval. 

It contains phytolase enzymes from algae that enhance the skin’s DNA repair when exposed to UV light: it has been shown in clinical studies to help guard against precancerous sun damage.

I’ve been trying to find 100% mineral sunscreens but most of them end up being too chalky or too heavy. This one is extremely lightweight and layers beautifully under make-up. While it goes on white initially, when it’s worked into skin it eventually becomes colorless.

If you’re looking for a powerful sunscreen you can wear on your beach vacation or just want a multi-tasking everyday sunscreen, this option comes highly recommended. In fact, it worked so well on my last vacation I decided to feature it in my Bali edit.

So back then, I was not that convinced with the match but later the sephora manager stepped in and matched G60 which was just perfect and I ended by buying it. But later on, she showed me N60 which was way too light for my skin. So before G60, she gave me N70 which was kind of dark for me. Although I fall in neutral in terms of the foundation the beauty advisor initially matched me to a shade in N range. The moment I apply this foundation, it brightens up my complexion. I was matched to shade G60 which has yellow undertones to it. So it can be easy for you to select whether you fall in warm, olive, cool or neautral undertones. Also I have mentioned above (from Cover FX’s website) the way to select your shade. They have 40 shades so one can definitely find their appropriate match in this range easily. But then again this is a very personal choice.Ĭoming on to the shades they have 40 shades in this range. It would have made the work of much more easier. But I wish that it was a glass bottle rather than plastic or even if its plastic, they should have provided like a pump dispenser. I prefer Lakme 9 to 5 primer+matte powder foundation for setting my under eyes. Because if the powder is not finely milled, it is again going to crease your under eyes. Also, set it with a very finely milled powder (with/without pigment). I’ve tried sweeping the wand across the entire under eye (was mimicking few youtubers) which made my concealer crease badly due to excess product. unless required, just make some dots and blend it in for a natural look. Tip: When it comes to concealers, less is more. I never layer my concealers because firstly, I don’t need to as I have mild darkness and secondly, if I did then they crease heavily (I have fine lines which give the appearance of concealer creasing). There is a restricted gap in the tube which removes all excess product and only desired amount remains on the wand.

I am in love with this concealer, to an extent that I haven’t touched my MAC concealer after getting this! I wear it every single day to my office and I love how it brightens up my under eyes. My verdict on Wet N Wild photofocus concealer: I blot my face 2-3 times a day (perks of being an oily skinned person) and sometimes apply a fresh layer of powder under my eyes, but that is not always. I set it with a finely milled powder after application and then it stays put. The concealer stays pretty much the entire day (office hours ~ 9.30 to 7.30). Also, due to the yellow undertone, it not only covers dark circles but also brightens the undereyes. It wouldn’t (entirely) cover intense dark circles but will definitely hide the moderate ones. Pigmentation & staying power: I would say the Wet N Wild photofocus concealer gives medium coverage, more towards a natural finish. I usually blend it with a smaller stippling brush. It feels more like a tinted moisturizing cream as it glides on smoothly and blends beautifully under the eyes. Texture: The concealer is neither too thick nor thin. This shade has a yellow undertone which also brightens up the undereye area. This will suit people with medium complexions and have light to moderate dark circles. Shades: There are 5 shades available out of which I got Medium Tawny. This is by far one of the cheapest (and good) concealers I’ve ever come across!Īvailability: Wet N Wild products are Nykaa exclusive, as of now. Let’s find out whether this concealer is worth a try? first impressions: it’s a smooth, light and lemony-scented cream that sinks in wonderfully well and works nicely to fix my currently dry and flaky areas. however, the lemony fragrance instantly raised some red flags, confirmed when i checked the ingredients list and saw all the citrus peel oils, and my heart broke a little, because this is a wonderful formulation otherwise, with tons of all-star ingredients, and i’d be all over it and recommending it to everyone if only it had skipped the fragrance oils. as it is, i recommend it for dehydrated skin that’s not too sensitive.

would i buy it? seems like so far the #samplesaturday motto is “1000% yes, if it did away with citrus oils”. as it is, maybe not my first choice, though the oils seem to be at low enough concentrations that i’d consider it.

Ingredients:

Octyldodecanol: An emollient and emulsifier and solvent. It is a clear, colorless liquid that is often seen as a thickener in moisturizers because of its lubricating and emollient properties. Helps to form emulsions and prevents formulas from separating into its oil and liquid components. It can also reduce the tendency of finished products to generate foam when shaken. Acts as a lubricant on the skin, giving a soft, silky feel.

Polybutene: A oligomeric oil, sometimes derived from petroleum, that is used in its hydrogenated form, as a binder, epilating agent, thickener and lubricant. It is naturally tacky or sticky and is also used for its adhesive properties.

Polyethylene: Form of plastic (synthetic polymer) that has numerous functions in cosmetics products. Rounded polyethylene beads serve as an abrasive agent in many facial scrubs, often used instead of overly abrasive alternatives like walnut shells and ground fruit pits. Also used as a stabilizer, binding agent, thickener, and film-forming agent.

Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil: Skin conditioning agent to maintain soft and supple skin.

Vp/Hexadecene Copolymer: Synthetic polymer that functions as a binding agent, texture enhancer, and dispersing agent.

Diisostearyl Malate: A skin conditioning agent and emollient.

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride: Derived from coconut oil and glycerin, it’s considered an excellent emollient and skin-replenishing ingredient. It’s included in cosmetics due to its mix of fatty acids that skin can use to replenish its surface and resist moisture loss. Also function as a thickener, but its chief job is to moisturize and replenish skin. This ingredient’s value for skin is made greater by the fact that it’s considered gentle.

Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax): Plastic-type, highly refined wax derived from petroleum and purified for use in cosmetics. Used as a thickener and to give products a semi-solid to solid smooth texture.

Dicalcium Phosphate: Opacifying Agent

Glyceryl Behenate/Eicosadioate: A mixture of esters of glycerin, along with behenic and eicosadioic acids, its works as a thickener and stabilizing agent in makeup and skincare products. The independent cosmetic ingredient review has found it is safe as used in cosmetics.

Propylene Carbonate: Liquid used as a solvent and film-forming agent.

Synthetic Wax: A wax derived from a mixture of various oils. It functions as a binding and stabilizing agent and can help enhance a product's texture.

Trehalose: Plant sugar that has hydrating properties for skin.

Disteardimonium Hectorite: A vegetable-derived suspending agent used to thicken oil-based products and serve as a stabilizer for emulsions

Fragrance: One or a blend of volatile and/or fragrant plant oils (or synthetically derived oils) that impart aroma and odor to products. These are often skin sensitizers because they are composed of hundreds of individual chemical components. Fragrance is a leading source of sensitivity to cosmetics.

Titanium Dioxide: An earth mineral used in sunscreens that is capable of blocking both UVA and UVB rays; also used as a pigment.

Mica: Earth mineral included in products to give them sparkle and shine. The level and look of the shine mica provides depends on the color and how finely it’s milled. Mica's sheer, translucent and skin-hugging properties make it a popular ingredient in mineral powders. Mica powder reflects light from the face because of its glittering or shimmering properties, and can create the illusion of a smoother, softer and more radiant skin tone.

Iron Oxides: Natural oxides of iron (iron combined with oxygen); pigments are used to enhance colors in cosmetics.

Citric Acid: An alpha hydroxy acid and astringent with antioxidant properties; used to help skin maintain its natural pH level or adjust the pH of a product.

Dipentaerythrityl Tetrahydroxystearate/Tetraisostearate: Skin conditioning. Viscosity controlling.

Butyrospermum Parkii  (Shea Butter): Extracted from the nuts of the karité tree, this emollient is naturally rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil: Skin conditioning agent and viscosity increasing agent. 

Sodium Saccharin: A sweetener, to give them a pleasant flavor.

Mel Extract (Honey Extract): Honey’s primary use in skincare products is related to its potent antioxidant properties; however, it’s role in helping wounds heal has been shown to have some benefits in comparison to traditional medicines and procedures. Honey forms a barrier on skin that can help soothe and protect.

My Thoughts: I thought it was very interesting to have a lip scrub in the form of a twist up tube. I saw Sephora Collection Lip Balm & Scrub in Honey was on sale for $6 so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised to find out that the twist up tube outer layer is made of cardboard. I was worried that it would be easily damaged over time but it ended up being very sturdy. Not only very secure but also pretty, with its yellow honeycomb design.

Sephora Collection Lip Balm & Scrub in Honey smells of good with a hint of honey. Its a gentle exfoliator, the sugar melts within 30 seconds so its best for mild chapped lips. After the sugar melts it becomes a normal lip balm that hydrates decently. I typically used this every night since its so gentle. When I had heavier chapped lips this did not work for me, I would need something that doesn’t melt away so quickly.

Would I purchase Sephora Collection Lip Balm & Scrub in Honey again? Yes I do like the idea of a mild exfoliator that turns into a balm.

This product contains 80 ml (2.70 oz) and has a more natural, slightly basic sunscreen scent.

The packaging is a squeeze tube and is a sturdy thicker plastic with a cap that won’t easily come off.

The sunscreen has a lightweight, creamy texture.

The cream blends out well and has a hydrating feeling on the skin. It's non-irritating and gentle on any skin type including sensitive skin.

It absorbs quickly and it does leave a slightly sticky finish. I found it was also better if you don't have super dry skin.

There is a slight flash-back but it's definitely not too bad.

This sunscreen is also water-resistant.

Recommended use is to apply at the last step of your skincare routine, gently applying to the entire face. After using, I found this sunscreen to be easily blendable and lightweight. There is a light sunscreen scent but it disappears quickly after application. It does feel slightly tacky after application that's doesn't completely go away so that may help with the application of makeup over top. It does mattify the skin and doesn't look too dewy. There isn't really any flashback, it just slightly brightens the skin. The packaging is also secure enough to throw into a purse or bag without it leaking or making a mess. This also has PA++++, the highest possible protection you can get in a sunscreen. I'd recommend this to people with oily and combination skin and people looking for a mattifying sunscreen that doesn't dry out the skin.

What I like: this sunscreen has nice ingredients and great protection. It does a good job of mattifying without drying out the skin. The ingredients are nice and not at all irritating. There's not any flashback and this product is really nice quality. It's got very high protection and didn't irritate the skin or allow the skin to burn. It’s also vegan-friendly so anyone can use this product. What I don't like: this product is a little tackier then anticipated so this may be a problem, otherwise great product.

This physical sunscreen is very thick. It leaves white cast and you have to rub it in for a while for it to blend and spread evenly. It works fine under makeup and I don't mind the white cast too much.

I'm still on the hunt for my holy grail sunscreen, something that is not too heavy feeling and works well under makeup (texture like a makeup primer?).

#2 COVER FX POWER PLAY FOUNDATION ($44)

This foundation is pretty thicc, so if you're going for a more light coverage look, you can use a large stippling face brush to apply it, instead of a beauty blender. This foundation makes my skin look immaculate. Even though it's too dark for me now, I can still wear it by mixing it with one of my lighter foundations, and it mixes perfectly for me! I give this one 8 out of 10 hearts, only because it can feel heavy if you go full coverage with it. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

#3 FENTY BEAUTY PRO FILT'R FOUNDATION ($34)

Okay, let's be real here- who DOESN'T f*ck with Fenty Beauty?! Rihanna is killing it in the makeup game right now and that's undeniable. I remember when this product launched and I got my hands on this foundation. It's so good that I'm literally almost done with my 3rd bottle, LOL 😭 keep going back for more. To be honest, this is hands-down my favorite foundation of the bunch. Almost instantly after applying it, you can see the formula mattifying into your face, it almost dries down to a powder-like texture. It literally makes your face look facetuned, lol. AND, FOR A HIGH-END FOUNDATION, IT'S AFFORDABLE!! (God bless you, Rihanna. We forever stan.) My only problem with it is that if you use a silicone primer with it, you actually end up looking more oily later on in the day. I would stick with just using a mattifying primer or even just a moisturizer, but for me it just doesn't work well with silicone-based primers. Overall, I give it 9 out of 10 hearts! 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

#4 ESTEE LAUDER DOUBLE WEAR FOUNDATION ($42)

If you're looking for something really long-lasting, then this. is. IT. GURL. Once you apply this foundation, it ain't going anywhere. It even has its own special makeup remover that you can purchase separately! It stays put honey. If you are looking for something that is sweatproof, swimproof, and sexproof, then look no more! (trust me, it has passed all tests. Lol) As much as I love this foundation, when you apply it initially it looks a bit dull, because it is SO mattifying. It's not until your oils come in that it begins to appear more luminous, so keep that in mind when putting it on! You might want to use a luminating primer base like I do to get that extra glowing-from-within look. I give it 8.5 hearts babyyyy 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💕

#5 L'OREAL INFALLIBLE 24 HR FOUNDATION ($13) 

Before I get into the review, I would just like to clarify that NO foundation, no matter how good it is, should ever be worn for 24 hours. Wtf, thinking about a foundation being worn for that long is making me break out🤢LMAO. But does this foundation have the *potential* to last for 24 hours? .....erm, no. Not quite. But I did wear it for 10 hours at Hard Summer music festival last summer, and it lasted the whole day! And if it can last throughout an entire music festival in 100-degree weather, then it’s good enough for me. For it's price, this drugstore foundation is the definition of getting the most bang for your buck. Upon applying it you can definitely tell that it's full coverage, but looks SO good as a light-coverage foundation as well!!!!! It applies the best with a damp beauty blender and keeps the shiny forehead/nose duo away. My only issue with it is that it emphasizes my pores, so I always pair it with a pore-minimizing primer. If price is your biggest concern, I would recommend grabbing this gal from either Walmart or Target! It earns 8 out of 10 hearts. 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
