Beauty Review: Top Mascaras for 2017

When it Comes to Beauty Products, What Makes One Product Shine over the Other?

When I mentioned that I was a bit bored with my mascara on Instagram, lots of my followers suggested their favourite cosmetic products.

There are so many cosmetic products out there; from the well known luxury brands, to the best drug store buys, to the natural cosmetics brands and brands you have never heard of. I will be reviewing L'Oréal False Lash Architect 4D ($15.36AUD) and L'Oréal Manga Mega Volume Mascara ($15.36AUD) that I bought in Priceline in Sydney. Two of my followers suggested these. I will also be reviewing Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara ($47.50AUD), Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara ($43.50AUD) and Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara ($42.50AUD) in the luxury cosmetics brand area. I bought there from StrawberryNet because they are discounted but I also get a loyalty discount. Plus I will also be talking about Dejavu Lash Knockout Extra Volume Mascara ($21AUD) which is a Japanese mascara. Another Instagram follower suggested Benefit They're Real! mascara, which I will hopefully have my hands on soon.

I will talk about packaging, they way they feel in my hand, their brush applicators, how they went on my lashes, we'll compare photos of each product when they are on my eyelashes and then rate them out of 5. Hopefully, after that we can work out which product is the Top Mascara for 2017 and finish the Set to Glow Beauty Review on a high note!

Mascara Packaging

A lot of my regular income comes from the design industry, specifically packaging so I know a lot about it. Obviously, the type of packaging a company uses depends on their position instore and whether they have their own pop up within a department store or not. For example, Dior always has their own booth in Myer. Another reason packaging is different is down to the brand and how they want their product to be perceived. Is it a luxury brand? Are there foil finishes on the packaging?

Both the L'Oréal False Lash Architect 4D and the L'Oréal Manga Mega Volume Mascara were hanging in Priceline, so their secondary packaging include a hangsell. Both have pretty impressive close-up pictures of an eye with mascara on it while the L'Oréal False Lash Architect 4D has a close-up of the brush applicator. The close-ups of the eyes look like they have false eyelashes on, which is false advertising really if we are honest. However, I will find out when I use the product.

The Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara, Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara and the Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara all come in cardboard boxes, which is better for the environment I think. The Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara and the Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara come in metallic board boxes so they have a premium feel. The Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara is in a high gloss black box with silver foiling on it. Only the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara has a illustration of an eye and the brush. Not a photo though, so I am not sure what I think about that. Less of a hard sell... These brands let their products and reviews do the talking.

I don't know very much about Japanese packaging other that they seem to like a lot of it and their products always seem to be in clamshell packaging. Dejavu Lash Knockout Extra Volume Mascara is no exception. It is in a plastic clamshell which a paper insert. It has two illustrations, one of the brush head, and the other explaining how the product coats the lashes.

So How Do They Feel in My Hand?

The L'Oréal False Lash Architect 4D packaging was super easy to open, you just pulled the top of the box open and you could slide the product straight out. It is light to hold and you have a good grip to open the product because of the contours on the mascara. The super bling silver mascara opens easily but it is a bit hard to close again. Maybe that will loosen with application.

The L'Oréal Manga Mega Volume Mascara has a card backing and a plastic top. This type of packaging is called a blister pack. It is pretty easy to open, but I never like that the card doesn't come away from the plastic properly, and you always have to pierce the leftover card to access the product. In this case, I damaged the L'Oréal Manga Mega Volume Mascara with scissors. I put a scratch in the pink metallic paint on the lid. The Manga Mascara is smaller and nicer to hold than the Architect 4D Mascara I think. I feel like the lid twists on and off more easily too. 

Now we come to the first of the more expensive premium products. The Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara packaging is really easy to open and the product slides right out. I find the lid a little tight but the product sits nicely in my hand since it is a rounded tube. Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara is heavier than the two drug store bought L'Oréal products which is good. Both the L'Oréal products are 9mLs each and the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara is 10mL. So that is good. It is more expensive but you get more product.

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara is also easy to open. However it is only 8.5mL. I have never actually paid attention to the amount of mascara I am getting as a consumer, I must admit. It is a smaller, rounded tube with pleasant contours. And at this stage in my review it is the nicest to hold. It opens and closes really well and the tube is super black and glossy with a really nice little Giorgio Armani logo seal near the lid. It is not as expensive as the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara but has a nicer feel in my opinion.

The last premium mascara is the Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara. It is also easy to open this box and the product slides right out. Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara also has a similar rounded, contoured tube to the Giorgio Armani mascara, however it is slightly longer. This product doesn't open and close as well as the Giorgio Armani, however I like the Shocking brush script on the gold metallic tube. This is not as light as the two L'Oréal Priceline bought products but it is lighter than the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara. This is the smallest amount of mascara of all the products at 6.4mLs!!

And now to the only Japanese mascara I have ever tried. Dejavu Lash Knockout Extra Volume Mascara comes in a clamshell and I have to ruin the packaging by going at it with a pair of scissors. The Dejavu Lash Knockout Extra Volume Mascara is small like the L'Oréal Manga Mega Volume Mascara but far lighter. Dejavu Lash Knockout is 8g and I really like the pink coloured packaging. It is easy to open and close.

Beauty Review: Mascara Brush Applicators

When I opened the L'Oréal False Lash Architect 4D the brush applicator was already bent. The picture on the box was in no way representative of the brush as well. It was the right shape though, long and thinning at the end like the bottom of an ice cream cone. The product seemed to clump at the smallest end of the brush. The L'Oréal Manga Mega Volume Mascara was the same, the picture on the box is not representative of the brush. However it has the same brush shape as the L'Oréal False Lash Architect 4D but you can bend the brush head it seems as there are lines in the arm about a cm away from the brush head. I will see how that goes when I apply it. When you look at the brush applicator for the Manga Mega Volume Mascara, the product clumps at both the smallest end of the brush as well as right at the start of the arm. There was quite a bit of product stuck there when you first open the Manga Mega Volume Mascara...

The Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara has a curved brush applicator a bit like how a pair of false eyelashes curve. It is thinner at the very end of the brush. The product only clumps right at the end of the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara brush. So far the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara brush comes out the most cleanly from its tube. It has I really like the share of the Giorgio Armani brush, it is long and thick and tapers to and end really quickly. The Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara has the same shaped brush as the Giorgio Armani brush applicator but it is thinner. The Yves Saint Laurent product immediately smells like flowers. It's very strong!! I think it smells like roses. I am not the best on fragrances because I don't often wear them. I also avoid skincare with fragrances. The product gets stuck at the end of the brush and at the start of the wand on the Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara. 

The Dejavu Lash Knockout Extra Volume Mascara has the same shaped brush as the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara however it has less of a deep curve. It also seems thicker to me. This brush is the cleanest of all the mascaras when it first comes out of its tube, however there is still some product at the tip of the brush applicator.

Beauty Product Review: Mascara Application

Firstly, let me just say that I have applied my mascara with no other makeup on so you can see each product in its natural state, but also so no other makeup ingredients affect the way each mascara performs. I have also done no retouching to any of the above photos.

There was a CLEAR winner half way through the process and whilst I was applying each mascara it became obvious as to why millions of women part with lots of money for mascara... Drug store/cheaper brands are just not as nice to use and the end results are not nearly as good... So there you go! You can all justify spending a bit of money on mascara!!

L'Oréal False Lash Architect 4D wasn't very easy to apply and you can see in the top left photo that my end lashes aren't coated. When I tried to use the end of the wand to coat my smaller end top lashes it ended up being a hot mess. This was because the product clumped on the end of the brush. I felt that my lashes were separated a bit better than when I used the L'Oréal Manga Mega Volume Mascara however. The Manga Mascara brush was really great to use. It sort of bent and sprung when I touched my lashes. I LOVE this brush, pity the formula wasn't great... It seemed to make my lashes stick together at the ends and therefore wasn't my favourite AT ALL (see the middle top photo above). I was a bit disappointed with Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara... Have a look in the top right photo above. The shape of the brush meant that it was easier to coat more of my lashes from left to right. It did open my eyes and they seemed more dramatic when my eyes were open... BUT if you look in the photo above, they actually appear shorter?? I give Lash Architect 4D a 3 out of 5 and the Manga Mascara a 3.5 out of 5 because of the brush.

Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara is my favourite of the more expensive brands. The simple brush is easy to use and formula glides right on. It didn't make my lashes clump at all - it seemed to coat each one individually and opened my eyes right up. Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara separates you lashes really well and if you have a look in the bottom left photo above it seems to make them a bit more full. Even though it is waterproof, it was pretty easy to get off. It sort of flaked off in little pieces if that makes sense? Usually your cotton pad comes away with a big black smear on it when you take your makeup off. Giorgio Armani gets a 5 out of 5.

This brings me to Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara. I have never used a more horrible mascara. The smell was too much, it got everywhere, the formula was too gluggy and made my eyelashes clump together and seemed to coat them like wet paint. My lashes were webbed together by wet formula. It was horrible to get off and irritated my eyes. This is not worth the money AT ALL. Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara gets a 0 from me since it is so expensive, smelly and horrible to use.

Dejavu Lash Knockout Extra Volume Mascara ($21AUD) is actually a really great buy. It was similar to the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara in ease of use. And doesn't seem to clump at all. It wasn't as good as the Giorgio Armani because it didn't make my eyelashes seem as full. However, for the money it is better than both the Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara and the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 only because of the price. If it was more expensive it would have been a 4 out of five.

Set to Glow's Top Mascara for 2017 is the Giorgio Armani Eyes To Kill Wet Length & Volume Waterproof Mascara with a 5 out of 5!

Followed closely by the Japanese Dejavu Lash Knockout Extra Volume Mascara with a 4.5 out of 5!

Set to Glow's WORST Mascara for 2017 is the Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils (Shocking) Mascara with a 0 out of 5!

I do love makeup! I haven’t really worn anything in ages but when I did do my makeup I wasn’t much of an eyeshadow person. My lids get oily. I was more into lashes that POP: Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara is THE mascara for the ages. I also love black eyeliner cat eye (which took me years to perfect)- and that stays on my face all day while shadow would get a little runny.

There was also this great highlighter that was both a stick and liquid that Mads recommended once and I would swipe that on my eye in place of shadow to give myself a little color.

My main obsession is having perfect brows. If you have those you don’t need anything else! And I’m in the process of fixing my microblading and getting the perfect powder brow (my eyebrow lady says this is going to be a long journey to get there and I need to be patient 🤞🏻).

Midnight Desire, part three

Summery:  A group of seniors  simple night of drinking and partying at their local grocery store. Turns for the worst when they realize they are lock in with something far more dangerous then they ever imagine

A song starts to play on an old record player. The room was dem. Knives and rotten meat fling from rusted old chains. A dismembered hand with Rolex on it . Jo was knock out laying across a metal table with her hands and feet tied down tight. Nothing more than her matching white lace lingerie. Farrah was tied up on a hook fully clothed. She slowly opened her eyes vision blurry as she heard a voice whispering to Jo . He was talking to her like she was a top notch blue ribbon hog at a state fair or a piece of prime meat or like they were  lovers saying sweet nothings to one another.

 " I keep you for last. For myself. Like it's supposed to be" the figure said with a deep rust voice touching her. It feels her up resting his hand on her small boob. Rubbing it gently as a whimper escape him mouth touching himself a bit. After a few more minutes he pulled out his hand from under his pants still dripping and  traces his thumb across her delight small lips and left. 

Panic was overcoming her. Numbing her as tears roll down mixing with her Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara  . Trying to find her voice. She started to cry out for help. " HELP HELP HELP ME" she stops "Jo JO  get up. We are trap down some fucking  meat room WAKE UP" she says in a loud whisper. Jo says nothing. Farrah starts to freak out.She watch enough scary movies to know nothing comes good from being tied up in a killer dungeon.  

In one big cry she begs for Jo to get up. Shaking her head Farrah looks towards her shock she actually alive. " I can’t feel my legs. Where are we. I feel light he-" she starts to say. Farrah looks back at the door. Then at Jo still not really wake. Looks at her arms she tried to get loose. No use. She looks around and starts freaking out again. " It's worse if you struggle.....is is is it duck tape or rope" Jo says trying to remain concise. Farrah looks up it was duck tape. " I think it's an old chain" she lied. Jo pulls at her arms. " Farrah I might be able to get out but I really don't. I can’t make it. Leave me behind and get help" Jo said breathing out slowly . Farrah look at the door, "I think it’s a man. He was here. He left. I try to keep watch" she said looking at the doorway.

Jo starts to try to wiggle. Use all the straight she didn't have. With a few hard shakes she was able to free one hand. Using one she work on freeing the other. Farrah was afraid. " Hurry hurry" she started to repeat over and over. Jo not paying attention her pleading finally free her other hand. Sitting up, her face was covered in blood. " These chains are tight" Jo says struggling with them. She looks up at Farriah. Freaking out. Laying back down start to rock to get closer to the cutter. A sharp knife that was at the corner of the table next to her. After a few tries and a small cut on her left foot. Jo crawls her way to Farrah looking like she see a shadow. Jo try to reach up to her. Taking the same knife that just cut her  she free Farrah with her last bit of  straight. Farrah starts taking the wrapping off around her hands. Jo was lay against the table eyes drifting back to her head she looks at Farrah. " If you find a way out. Then take it. Leave leave me. Farrah. Show my mom, Heather, my journal it under Cora bed tell her I love her. I lov-" Jo starts to say before blacking out on the cold  floor. Farrah tried to shake her awake. Nothing. She touches her one last time before taking a knife out of her ice cold hand.

There was no hope left for her. She knew could not save her to carry her. It was dark and the figure could return. Holding onto the walls she made her way out. Should she had of try to save her .She cover her mouth with her left hand while raising the knife up over her head. Breathe quit it could be back. A couple of more  noises. Coming closer. Closer. She steps out and lounge the knife just nipping Lex on the shoulder. Farrah starts screaming bloody murder. NO NO NO. Garrett rushing from behind Lex and takes the knife away and throw it down to the ground. Stunned to see Farriah in this state. She was the girl that could out drink any man any given day do any dare if ask scared shitless.

Farrah try to run away  but Cora pushes her. Garrett looks at Cora confused.  " Where is she. Where is Jolie" Garrett said kneeling down  to her.  She looks up to his startling intense sea blue eyes and try to make sense to what she knows what she remembers. "She back... Fred that place place. She" she stops becoming an emotional wreck. " It happened so fast. She was trying to do the right thing. I got hit but before I pass out I saw her. She was screaming even after he tried to quiet her. She grab anything she can shouting for help. Fitting back. Finally he suffocated her till she passed out. I woke dizzy and he was talking to her. Doing things to her. Touching . Saying she was a good ...there was a hand. Body parts. She use all she had for me. I had to leave her. She told me it was okay. She wants us to leave her. Get help.......Cora why would she tell me to give her that journal you said you stole to her mom. We have to go. NOW" she says starting to run towards the doors they first enter into. Lex runs after her. 

Garrett starts following the trail again. " What are you high. There a mad man. We should go. Fred tell him" Cora says pulling at Fred varsity letter  jacket. Fred moves his hands across his face. " Hey come on. She right let's go. You got the key we come back once we get help Gar" Fred said. Garrett looks at them both full of shame. Turning back around he gets close to Cora. " Fred I understand. But you. That's your sister and your leaving her. She does not deserve that. She was doing something I ask. She might die. I’m not gonna turn a blind eye not on her. Like everyone else does to her. So I'm not going until I know she died. Till I carry her dead body in my hands to freedom. Take the master keys all you want and go but I’m going after her" Garrett says going ahead. Cora was piss. Rolling her eyes. And grab his flashlight and goes in front of him. It was cool damp and dark. Old fixtures rocking back and forth in a bright red light. The same song was playing. " Wait Up" a voice said from behind.  It was Lex and Farrah. There straight ahead was a door. Jo could not feel a thing.  It wasn't that she was freaking out from the blow but weak from everything else. Was that she is anemic? The will of living was gone with lack of energy and the feeling she was going to die. After Farrah she welcome ready to see her father once again. She pass out with her ear to the wall. She did the noble thing and save her. Not for any reason. Just did.

Fred takes Cora hand and heads out first. As Lex leaves Garrett turns around Farrah was standing by the chains she was held hostage earlier. " I wish I could see the ass hole now. And kick his ass" she said holding the dismember hand in hers.  Garrett turns back to see everyone had left. He turns around to see a figure behind Farrah. "Farrah look out behind you" he screams in fear. Farrah not paying much attention turns around to see the man from earlier. Taking an old rusted butcher knife and stabs her in the head seven times. Garrett in shocks runs out of there as fast as he can with Jo now thrown over his shoulder  like a sack of potatoes. 

Fred,Lex,and Cora was by the entrance trying to get out when Garrett caught up to them. Lex looks behind him. " Hey where Farrah at? Garrett. Who blood is that" he says with a sad tone. Garrett gently puts Jo down still pass out. Wiping his face. He starts giggling for the keys. 

" We have to... we have to go. SHIT There was someone. A man with a full butcher get up. And a mask over most of his face.  Lex he stabbed her. We gotta go. Before he finds us. SHIT" he says dropping the keys.

Cora starts to pout and looks at Fred. " Freddie you're the caption of the lacrosse varsity team. Go tell us what to do. I'm scared" she says holding on to him. 

Fred pushes away and start to think. " Garrett those keys they can work for the door right. We go out .Get in the car and when we get to..... my house we call the fucking cops" Fred says. Lex impatient grab the keys and rush to the door. Cora runs over to Jo who is still unconscious staying beside her playing with her red scrunchie. Waiting till the guys find a way out. Lex walks over to open the door with Garrett unsure about everything walks to his side keeping watch. As the key starts to turn there a noise then out of nowhere. A sharp steak knife plugs out and just miss Lex head. With Jo pushes him out the way missing his heart but hitting his left shoulder. Everyone jumps to the floor. Fear surrounds the air. Jo on top of Lex quickly gets up and crawls into the closest aisle. Lex starts to scream in pain as Cora starts to panic.

" SHUT UP, NOW TRY TO relax your breathing. Garrett Fred try to help me.....here... WAIT you hear that. We need to go. He might of heard us. Lex I'm gonna try to fix this.Hurry" Jo said still trying to stop the bleeding. Garrett got on the floor rush over to Lex and Jo. 

Garrett and Fred holds Lex while Jo tried to fix his wound in the break room. Laying down on a desk Garrett starts to find anything to fix his wound . Cora was cradled in a put right position by the bar windows still playing with that scrunchie in her hand. Time was passing slower while the intensity was growing more hungry. 

" It's done. I tried my best with the amount of girl scout training I had. The liquor should have clean the wound. The pm pain pills should help the pain. My needle and thread should uh..... help close it. He he...." Jo starts to say her voice tremble. Something was coming up as she tried not to freak out. It was like something was trying to crawl out. She rushed out towards the tiny bathroom. Her hands cross in front of her mouth trying to stop from crying. She air hits and kicks and drops to the floor. Garrett followed her in there stands still and watch her. " We are going to make it. All of us. Jolie" he said. Jo looks up and smiles. Sometimes the demons in yourself and around you could be the hardest battle. It's my reminder. Was my luck. But now" he stops and reaches in slowly to kiss her on the lips. There tongue dance with on another. She could taste him feel him as he reach deeper into the kiss. Felt like being on every drug, paradise, and heat . She stops her finger between their lips she push him back gently and traces his lips. They were bubble gum pink with gentle a bit of Forever 21 lip gloss over it. Her first kiss was stolen from her but if someone was to ask she without hesitation this was it.Jo came back closer kiss his cheek take his hand into hers. Garrett early afternoon sky eyes shifted back to Jo midnight eyes. Cora clears her voice stopping there trace they both had. " Everything alright here. J I need moral support my best slut double face girlfriend is dead. I need you NOW" she said then grabs Jo hand tight and leaves. Garrett smirks into the mirror before heading back out.

" We have to find a way out. Let's think. Now we don't know where he  is now and where else he has these traps. I mean he could of done this whenever . What to do but to protect ourselves. But with what? Windows, any ideas" Jo said standing by Cora. Everyone was quiet. Nothing but thoughts.

" What about the map. Garrett you should know something" Lex said still leading against the wall. Shaking his head he took out the map to scan over. " Wait ..Look. we can get to the backup hatch. Go up and out then climb the side. But he might...Or here. Its a shipping deck area it can work" he said. Glancing at them. Jo walked over to him glance at it then up . She switch out to pair of shorts and an old Nirvana shirt that Garrett had in his locker. Fred shakes his head and looks at Jo. " So fine but what about this  fucking creepy killer trying to kill us. We need something to protect ourselves like birdie said. We need stuff…. Who gonna try to go check things out" Fred said freaking out. Cora bust a mirror with her elbow and safety got a piece. It's some of my mom.I always keep a few in my bag for a backup" she says handing him some . Jo walks over to the closets and goes through trying to find something as the others do the same. Moments past after the plan was made. But who would be the leader and make the path to this fight. Garrett looks at Jo then at Fred. Lex then walks forward. " Garrett what way. The more we stay in here more of sitting ducks we are" he says lending against the door. Garrett grips tight to his broomstick he had in his hands. 

" To the left all the way to the meat section down to the back to freedom. Or we can try the roof. Depends what it knows . I say below be the best bet. We hardly use it since the 90s but it's there. And a simple whack should do the trick. Lex" he says looking down unsure what he was saying. Fred hold tight to Cora shakes his head of approval. They stood there all trying to face any fear before they went on this fight. Lex holding on himself grab his bottle of spray and matches starts to the door. Jo follow behind him with Garrett right beside her. He got close enough and stop her.  Puts his leather jacket around her shoulders. " You look  cold. Wear it. If it is not a lot to ask stay by me okay. Stay next to me actually . Just in case. Can't lose you. Jolie" he said grabbing her hand tight. Jo looks at him then at her hand which was now tightly gripped in his big rough hands.

Whenever she would think of a grocery store it would not have hammers and rope. Garrett slowly un grip Jo hand and went looking. She grabbed a few flashlights and a glow stick.  She glanced over to him then back at the duck tape tucking the glow stick into her back pocket. Wasn't till now she realized she had been hanging with one and only Garrett. Wearing his jacket still feeling his lips on hers. She wish she could slap herself scream to stop .  All scary movie she watch screaming at the screen tell stupid virgin to keep her head in the game and here she was. Watching him from the corner of her eye. Trying to find a way to save what was bouncing around in her mind. Come clean of everything but she couldn't. Now it's like running from ghost" he says then goes back grabbing more things. Leaving her with a blank stare.

Garrett. We need something. That helps us and prove it. Right?” she stop and look around “Is the security office by the meat section. We need the tapes something. To prove we didn't do it. It can be a dead end but that can be hard proof.  Sorry I doubt you for keeping the gun a secret. I never do that again. I promise.  Lex was worried about you is all. I am worried about you. He must believe us" she says lending against the shelves looking at the ground. Garrett took her bag and throw the things in. " We are going to make it. You and I. Us two. That's all I know and all I care about. That and the date we are gonna have tomorrow at 7pm " he says giving her a gentle kiss on her forehead. Her cheeks became a touch of rose red with those simple words. Words that he probably did not mean much about like reading a list. For her she felt wanted need important by one person she knew would never leave or maybe even hurt her. 

Garrett stopped dead  cold like ice. Lex stood there . Jo glance back at Garrett and went off towards Lex. " What the fuck wrong with you. Leaving me with them. whack jobs. Fucking Chucky and Tiff" Lex said to Jo. Jo stop beside him and wait till Garrett past them both holding her bag. Looking back at him she motions to walk beside her. " Using our phones and matches can. ..It's stupid. First our phone can die not helping us. And we have no ideas what out there. Matches can cause….a  boom. So I stop grab some flashlight. With all the mess. We already owe the store better make sure it was worth it. But there something" she said to him. His eyes were locked on Garrett. " What" Lex  said still looking at Garrett who looking at Jo while Jo looking at Lex not paying either no attention . " Don't trust what Fred and Cora are saying. I talk to Garrett. He might be not fully truthful with me but. He better than they are. Anyway Garrett grab something too. Like the pliers. He talk to you later" she said.

" I think we need to pick it up the pace" he said grabbing her hand and started to run. Lex was right beside them. When they heard the first bang. They stop still. Frozen. Trying to figure out what it was. Bang. Cora scared holds on Fred hand. " What happening Jo this is not funny. Ok" she said with a slight tone of anger. Jo roll her eyes and turn back from where they came from. We need to go she thought to herself. Cora ask once more. But still no word from Jo. Lex mad grabs his weapon and storms ahead.

There were chains now on all the doors and windows. Lex started to bash and bash through. " Is this what you fucking want. You sicko freak. Huh  you want from us. Then come get us, coward. Come on" Lex  scream out still bashing at the meat door. Garrett looks at Jo. " He going to get us killed" he whisper to her.

" COME ON FUCKIN BITCH Come and get me. You pencil size  loser" Lex said still pounding at the door. Jo  slap Lex across the face. " You trying to kill yourself then keep it up. Its lock. Lex" she said looking at him then point at the chains. She glances at Garrett then back at Lex.

The door swoosh  open. Nothing but silence. Jo slowly walk back beside Garrett. A dark unsettling feeling full her body. Something wrong. Lex full pride start cheering. " Yes that what I told you I got you. I got you. Yea " he starts to say. Dancing around mocking the stranger. 

A pair of massive hands. Size of two football's grabs for Lex head. Jo and Garrett lunges for him trying to crab him back down. They pull and pull with all their might. Lex started to scream and swing his legs around trying to get free. Garrett slowly stop and watch Jo trying to save a lifeless body blood dripping from his crushed head onto her shoulders and face.
