[ad_1] RevSportz Conclave (PC: File) There are 50 days to go for the third edition of the Trailblazers Conclave. And to think that India’s best athletes, able bodied and para, men and women, will all come together under one roof in Kolkata yet again has a sense of the unreal attached to it. And yet, it is true. From our 18-year-old world champion D Gukesh to the just-retired legend Ravichandran Ashwin, and India’s captain fantastic Harmanpreet Singh to the legendary Mary Kom and the lady on the comeback trail, Nikhat Zareen – the very best are all coming together for two-and-a-half days in March. Joining the newsmakers are titans like Abhinav Bindra, Pullela Gopichand, Viswanathan Anand, PR Sreejesh and Mahesh Bhupathi, which means the conclave will see a galaxy of Indian sporting legends together under one umbrella. And in Kolkata, you can’t not have Sourav and Saurav – Ganguly and Ghosal. With the Champions Trophy on at the time, Ganguly – who lifted it jointly with Sri Lanka in 2002 – could just be the one we desperately want to listen to. Day three, March 8, is understandably about women and women’s empowerment. You name them, and we will have them in Kolkata. From Mary Kom and Rani Rampal to Anju Bobby George, Nikhat and Tania Sachdev, there will be a stellar cast of women athletes interacting with each other. For the Latest Sports News: Click Here Panel with MC Mary Kom, Joshna Chinappa, Rani, Harmilan Bains and more (Image: Joy Sengupta for RevSportz) That’s just able-bodied sport. We will have the very best of Paralympic talent discussing what was our best Paralympics by a mile. From Yogesh Kathunia, Navdeep Singh, Manasi Joshi, Mona Agarwal, Rubina Francis and the peerless Suhas Yathiraj, we are determined to celebrate athletic achievement in its entirety. For the football fans, there is a special segment on Mohun Bagan versus East Bengal and how the derby can be marketed better. The one session I am particularly keen on is the one on Indian chess. With a revolution on in the sport, it is but obvious that we will celebrate it. And no one better than the man who made it all possible – Anand. He will be joined by Dibyendu Barua and Tania, not to forget the show-stopping Gukesh. Finally, it is extremely important to have administrators, policy makers and corporates all in a dialogue with each other on the future of Indian sport. From federation presidents like Adille Sumariwalla, Kalikesh Singh Deo and Dilip Tirkey to corporate leaders like TV Narendran, Chanakya Chaudhary, Rahul Todi and Sanjiv Navangul, the conclave will offer a forum for practitioners and policy makers to exchange ideas and create a template for the future of Indian sport. Presented by Tata Steel and powered by Thums Up, Limca Glucocharge, HSBC Bank, BSV, Shrachi Sports, Wow Momo, Sangbad Pratidin (media partner), further supported by Aktivo Labs (Health Tech partner), House of Pataudi (fashion partner), Fanatic Sports (Sports Tourism partner), Getafix (real estate partner), Lalbaba Rice, Globe (travel partner), T-10 sports (sportswear partner) and others, Tata Steel Trailblazers 3.0 will be the go-to destination for every sports fan in India between March 6 and 8, 2025. For those who can’t make it, the entire conclave will be livestreamed on RevSportz platforms, and every update will be made available on our social media handles. More on the conclave in the days to come. Aparna Mishra wins T Prasad Memorial Gold Medal 2024
The third edition of the T Prasad Memorial Print Competition for students at the Northern Regional Institute of Printing Technology (NRIPT) took place on 7 June. The competition, named in honour of educator T Prasad, celebrates his contribution to modernizing print education in India. Prasad, who served as principal from 1982 to 1993, also played a crucial role in upgrading several government and university printing presses and was a visiting faculty member at Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College, now MNIT, Allahabad.
Organized annually by the Offset Printers’ Association (OPA), the competition encourages students to stay abreast of the latest developments and innovations in the printing field. This year, all NRIPT diploma students were eligible to compete for the title of Best Student of 2024.
The competition began with a preliminary written test, featuring multiple-choice questions evaluated by a five-member jury, including Diptendu Chowdhury, former Principal of RIT Kolkata, Rakesh Tiwari, officiating principal NRIPT, Beer Bahadur Singh HOD - incharge department of printing technology, GP Patna, Sunil Kumar Joshi, print technologist from New Delhi, and Nafish from Prayagraj.
The event was supervised by Anubhava Shiksharthi, print consultant from Nagpur, and Ashwani Gupta from Jalandhar. Out of 52 participants, 45 students took the MCQ test.
Following the preliminary round, five students advanced to the final oral round -- Khushi, Astha Pandey, Aaditya Kasarwani (all final-year students), and Aparna Mishra and Dilip Mundrika Kushwaha (second-year students).
The finale, held in the NRIPT seminar hall, required each finalist to speak on one of five topics provided by the judges, with five minutes to prepare. Presentations were evaluated based on content quality and reliability, presentation style and confidence, a Q&A session, and an audience poll. Marks were adjusted if students spoke for less than five or more than seven minutes.
After rigorous evaluation, Aparna Mishra, a second-year student, emerged as the winner of the third edition of the T Prasad Memorial Print Competition. She was awarded the Gold Medal and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. The award ceremony will coincide with the International Conference on Sustainable Printing & Packaging at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University, Ayodhya, on 7 September 2024.
