what i WILL say is that her and dick bond over having glasses of all things. dick is like a minus 6 in both eyes but barbara barely needs them. ALSO she was very excited when cass became part of the batfam because like 1) finally, another girl who’s not also off and on with bruce wayne of all people 2) oh wow this girl is COOL. 

barbara’s a massive nerd actually she listens to 80s music exclusively and used to have batman merch as a kid. also i’ve said it privately but i’ll say it publicly: i think she’s trans SOLELY because at the end of the dark knight jim’s son is like ‘wow!!! batman!!!’ and that makes no narrative sense. you could’ve had a babs easter egg but noooooo. so i’m making her trans now bc of the dark knight. and also like for normal reasons such as i think it’s fun and cool and trans characters are objectively better than cis ones. and also she has ‘girl’ in her hero name initially and her second hero name is a reference to greek mythology so like... come on
