The Mystery of Viridian Forest

Elsewhere in the glades of Viridian, a young Dragonite firmly wraps a thick thread of silk onto a large tree branch. “And that should do it.” If any humans other than his partner were eavesdropping, all they would hear is the typical Pokemon speak. As it stands though, it’s just the two of them, not including his partner resting in the cave just a few feet away.

A Beedrill flies by carrying a Weedle in a woven silk bundle on her back, and a pair of silk bags filled with berries and herbs. “Ah, good! That should help keep the wax in place when we build it. Thanks so much!”

Dragonite rubs the back of his neck. “Ah, it’s the least I can do when you helped us.”

“Oh, it’s no big deal, really. And about your friend…” Beedrill turns to the cave where a boy sleeps soundly in a sleeping bag, with silk bandages around his head and a piece of dried bamboo tied around his mouth by a strip of cloth. “Even after giving him some pecha berries for the poison, he still hasn’t woken up.”

“That’s mostly normal.” Dragonite sighs. “But he has been unconscious for a few days now… If he still doesn’t wake up, I’ll bring him to a doctor just in case.”

Beedrill buzzes approvingly. “That might be best. The human town shouldn’t be too far from here.” She tilts her head. “May I ask about the…?”

Dragonite glances at her. “Hm? Ah, you must mean that muzzle. It’s a…pretty long story, but it’s special. It’s supposed to keep him from accidentally hurting himself, and it’s been modified so it won’t hurt his jaw.”

“I’m sorry, um, modified? Is that a word humans use?”

Before Dragonite can answer that, a human girl with blonde hair appears through the bushes alongside a Butterfree, a Raticate and a Pikachu with a flower by one of her ears.

“Excuse us!” she calls out. “We’re looking for a boy with a red hat. He has a Pikachu with him like me. Have you seen him?”

Finally the boy began to rest from the race he and his Pokemon were doing. But man, did his legs HURT! Maybe he shouldn’t try to race so many Pokemon at once especially since a lot of them had amazing speed stats. Red sat on the grass beside Pika and Saur to gently massage his legs. That was when Red could see a familiar face go by not to far into the distance. 

Was that Yellow?

Gaining his second wind, the red hatted spiky haired boy got back up. “Alright you guys, that was real good work today! We’ll train some more tomorrow!” He reaches onto his belt to recall all his Pokemon back to their Pokeballs where they could rest, only leaving out Pika since he probably noticed Yellow and Chuchu as well and would most likely want to see them.

“Hey Yellow!” Red waves as he runs up to her. Pika was also very excited, waiting for Red to slow down so he could jump off his shoulder so he could visit his significant other.

The Ancienverse series by Epicocity is the longest and best Pokemon series from the anime verse. Seriously, it's SO GOOD

The Mystery of Viridian Forest

(ooc: Special/Adventures manga Red please~)

“Odd…” Yellow watches as Professor Oak reexamines his papers. “Are you sure you didn’t see anything in the forest?”

She nods. “Other than the occasional Dratini from the mass displacement, nothing.” Even after Green became the Viridian Gym Leader, even after the incident at Cerise Island, they are still sorting out the mess Team Rocket left behind.

Apparently, the professor’s aides reported strange readings, some kind of energy spike coming from near the heart of Viridian Forest before it disappeared. Being busy as he typically is with other research material, he requested Yellow to accompany his grandson and investigate. If it was one of the legendary birds, they don’t want Team Rocket getting their hands on it and start a repeat of Silph Co. Tower.

When the two arrived at the location, however, nothing was out of the ordinary. The Rattatas and Pikachus were scampering about, the Pidgeys were singing, and everything was totally fine. There were no traces of that energy signature.

Yellow can understand the professor’s confusion. If it wasn’t a legendary, what was it? She turns to Green, who seems to be in deep thought. He has more experience than her, so maybe he noticed something about the area that Yellow didn’t.

But he shakes his head. “Nope. I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.”

With that, his grandfather slumps in his chair. “Well, I suppose I should get the programming checked.”

Yellow hums thoughtfully… Oh! “Maybe we should check it out one more time. I didn’t think to do it before since everything seemed normal, but maybe I can ask the local Pokemon if they saw anything strange.”

Green nods. “I’d go with you, but I really need to get back to the gym. I think Blue is available, but I have no idea where she is… Maybe if you can find Red, he might be willing to go with you.”

Red ran across a lush valley in the woods as his Venusaur, Saur, and his Poliwrath, Poli, ran behind him. They were in an impromptu race together, each of Red’s Pokemon participating in the event. Some didn’t care about this race and slept soundly on the ground, while more than half of his team joined in.

Saur tries his absolute best but because of the giant flower on his back it was hard to keep up with the speeding Polli who was right behind Red in first place. Red noticed his first Pokemon catching up to him and tried to speed up a bit faster. This was a race after all. Polli seemed to be having fun too, everyone was having fun.

Until the fighter ran face first into a tree.

“Gah!!!”

Red fell back onto his back, his eyes swirling and his limbs all sprawled out. His Pokemon look over him in worry before Red finally gets back into consciousness. He shakes his head and sits up only to see that Pika was at the finish line first.

“J-Jeez Pika...*huff* *huff* *huff* ...t-that was the third time you...won this week...”

Pika smiles happily, proud of his speed stat. Red stands back up and wipes the dirt from his clothes. He hoped no one saw his faceplant a tree. That would be embarrassing...

“So while browsing the internet I came across a rom hack about me and my adventures. Pretty accurate. They even added some new characters too. I like that Trainer Pink girl. She reminds me of Yellow. They’re both so nice to me~!”

"I’m so BORED!”

Starters on Boredom [Accepting]

"Me too but, I think I might know how to cure that boredom~!" He takes out a card from his pocket and holds it up proudly.

"Now I might be wrong, but while I was sneaking around the Team Rocket hideout under that casino like place, I saw this pink and blue creature glitching out behind the counter. I think that must be a Porygon. I believe if we work together we can save it!"

He runs at Red, simultaneously tackling and hugging him. Green squeezes, lifts him slightly off the ground, and puts him back on the ground when satisfied. "Oh man! I needed that. Nothin' like a hug from your best friend to brighten your day, wouldn't ya say?"

“Eh? Wha-?!” Red was not expecting this, before he knew it he was somehow wrapped into a hug by his best friend and rival before he noticed his legs were dangling around as he was being spun. Once done Red blinks a few times, then giggles.

“Ahaha, w-well you’re seeming to be in good spirits! Nice to see ya, Green!”While he was acting kind of strange, Red couldn’t resist a good hug. Plus, if his best friend is happy, he was happy too.

“You’re the least annoying person I’ve ever met.”

DETECTIVE PIKACHU; [Accepting]

“Heh, I guess I’ll take that as a compliment!” Red chuckles and rubs the back of his neck. 

“But at least I’m not the most annoying person you ever met! You’re the least annoying person I ever met too!”

Alola, Battle Tree!

The spiky raven haired boy had just gotten finished packing his things inside the hotel before getting ready to fly to Poni Poni island. Though how Alola did things was way different to how it was back in Kanto. For starters, what happened to the HMs? Why wasn’t he alowed to fly on Aero and he’d be there in a flash. Red wasn’t used to Charizards, especially if they weren’t one of his. Let’s not mention the odd suit you have to wear to take off into the sky, how is this safety gear if it really does nothing?

No matter. The Charizard was friendly enough to drop him off to his destination and only required a few head pats for a fee. He and Blue had arrived at the same time too so both Battle Legends will now see how they turned that old hollowed out tree they found into a battle facility. That was easier said than done. However as the two men walk through the gates, they were pleasantly surprised with how the tree had undergone a total transformation since they first saw it. 

“Woah! They went all out! It almost doesn’t look like a tree anymore!” Red states with a big smile. He really wanted to go inside, but Blue grabbed him by his backpack strap, making him yelp a little. Aparently the inside wasn’t done yet and they had to wait. Red crossed his arms and grumbled. Oh well, maybe someone will find them and challenge them to a battle as the inside gets refurbished.

“She is a nice person! She’s also a great nurse, an amazing cook, and one of the best artists I’ve ever seen! You should really see her art! It’s amazin’!”

“Well…” Red began trying to think of what to say. “I am scared a bit of ya. I mean you’ve outwitted me countless times. Honestly if we had a real Pokemon battle I’m sure you’ll outwit me even then.”

The time with the badges and the time where she sold him something that didn’t work came to mind. But Red didn’t mind that since after all he met one of the closest friends to him in his life.

“But I guess the reason I ain’t scared of you is cus’ I know your my friend! Plus we make a pretty good team, no?”

"I dare ya to dive off of that top platform allllllllll the way up there!"

Swimming Based RP Starters: [Accepting]

“Heh, that’s nothing for me! I can do it in my sleep!” The boy bragged shugging his shoulders. There was nothing Red was afraid to do, and that includes jumping off a diving board. Why thanks to Poli he learned how to swim! So now all he had to do was show off in front of Blue. With a smile he walks up to the latter.

“E-Eh? I-Is it really that high up?” It looked as if the diving board’s ladder went all the way to the sky! …or he was just short and the ladder looked large to him as a kid. It can’t be to scary for the adults right? And Red was a big strong guy who took down many a Team Rocket grunt so why shouldn’t he be able to do it? With his eyes closed and a big inhale through the nose, he began to climb up. As long as he didn’t look down he will be fine. Though it does seem like he’s been climbing for a long time.

After what felt like an eternity, Red had finally saw the diving board. He climbed up to it and stood on it for a second. He really was high up. Arceus he could feel the blood rush to his head like he was going to faint. No…he had to do this. Crawling on his hands and knees he peeked over the edge. The fall seemed it would take a long way down…his body almost freezing up. 

“….o-okay…I think I’m gonna turn around and climb back down…” He chickened out…he couldn’t do this. But as he backed up, he bumped into someone’s leg. Red’s frightened face stared back at the other for a second. “Dude if you’re not gonna dive I’ll make you dive! We’ve been waiting for like five minutes, kid!”

“N-No no it’s okay I was just about to climb back-”

“-DOWN!!!”

Too late, Red was free falling in the sky heading towards the water. Try as he might Red couldn’t quit screaming! He could see everyone looking up at him and he tries to keep on a brave face but he was plummeting to the pool like a rock being thrown from a high place! And then came the fall, face first into the water. The water splashed before settling down it’s waves. Then Red’s body floated back up before he manages to turn onto his back while floating on the pool’s surface. He was as pale as a ghost from the fear, but he had a smug smile on his face.

“S-See? No sweat. T-T-Told ya I could do it!”

Dan: Happy Birthday Red. *I hand you two bags, each stuffed to the brim with Ultra Balls, and I also hand you 2 large yellow notepads* got these for ya.

“Heh, thanks so much! You’re amazin’ Mister Dan!” The boy says happily. Seeing the Ultra Balls made him smile even wider. These were essential to any Pokemon Trainer after all and makes it a lot easier to catch a stubborn Pokemon. “I’m gonna catch me a legendary! A shiny legendary~!”
