Theres something about how full of love and devotion Dad from Deviser is that continually gets my ass. He’s just confused and doesnt have the whole picture.

He’s devoted to the idea of humanity and he wants to bring it back, and he loves it so much that he needs to bring it back perfectly, and he loves his humans so much that he names himself Dad, and calls them all his children, and he does terrible things because he cannot allow himself to fail. when he thinks he’s finally succeeded, he jumps the gun on an unfinished project because he loves his son so much that he wants to give him a hug, even if its not going to be perfect like he wants, and when his son turns on him, of COURSE he’s hurt and confused and upset and MAD. Because all he wanted was to be loved back. To not be alone. And when his son kills him, he spends his dying moments assuring his safety, and assuring him that he loves him. Just. AUGH.
