Smash Bros Stage Concept: Serene Shores (Pikmin 4)
Everyone loves talking about hypothetical Smash characters, including me, but I also like the stages. They're very distinctive and help add more flavor to the crossover. So I'm going to outline one stage idea I got while playing Pikmin 4, Serene Shores.
I'm not an artist, and you know those people who have a passion for graphic design, that's not me. So I have very rough stage mark ups here just to show the basic layout. If something is black it's ground, a platform, or an obstacle. Blue is for water, and red is for hazards.
For actual in game visuals I'm not sure where exactly in Serene Shores the stage would be. Torn between having the sand castle or a nice view of the water in the background. But the stage itself has to be where there's water.
The first form of the stage has a main platform just over the water, with two smaller higher up ones on the sides. Not fond of how similar this layout is to the Pokemon Stadiums/Leagues/North Crater, but the water is a notable difference. And the 'main' platform is soft, so it can be dropped through.
Then the tide lowers and the water recedes, letting the fight go to the now dry ground. From this point on the stage is a walk-off. The previous main platform isn't too high from the ground.
Next, the sun sets and night comes. If they're in the background the S.S Beagle and Onion fly away, followed by a Lumiknoll popping up on the right part of the stage as a solid obstacle. Players can't damage it.
From this point on the stage will feature waves of enemies trying to destroy the Lumiknoll. They will attack any characters in their way, but leave you alone if you leave their path. If the Lumiknoll is destroyed the enemies will leave.
First is a wave of Desiccated Skitter Leafs crawling along the ground, a single hit can kill each. Next is a Flighty Joustmite who will attack the Lumiknoll from a spot right next to the top right platform.
Last is a Sovereign Bulbax, who is so big he passes through the main platform. Unlike in Pikmin 4 he can be damaged from the back. The Glow Pikmin will throw out a Glowmob to stun him at the center point of the stage, but if you're too close it will stun you too. This is an opening to take down the Sovereign Bulbax.
Graphic below with rough comparison of enemy sizes.
If all waves are cleared, the Lumiknoll spits out glowsap. This recovers 100 damage for whoever touches it first. It's a powerful reward, be sure you're the one to get it.
Eventually the sun will rise, and the tides soon after. This returns the stage to its initial form, where the cycle will begin anew.
#Smash Bros#Super Smash Bros#Pikmin#Pikmin 4#The images are super clunky and inexact but I don't have a great set up for making visuals

I’m gonna do all of the ones in the picture because. Why not
Arachnode- probably wouldn’t be much of a threat if you don’t get caught in its web, and you could probably pretty easily cut off the legs and grill them or smth, but it is a spider so probably not super tasty (also it is yellow and black and from the very little I know about animal colours, I’m pretty sure that means it’s poisonous)- 5/10
Okay that was long I’ll keep the others short
Armoured cannon larva- hard to hunt, armoured so probably hard to prepare, but it might taste decent - 2/10
Bulborb - probably a bit hard to hunt, but managable if you’re prepared, quite easy to prepare, and I imagine it would just be the Pikmin alternative to a cow or smth - 8/10
Dwarf bulborb- same as bulborb but easier to hunt, though it is smaller- 9/10
Female sheargrub- defenceless, seems easy to prepare, just roast it whole, though it doesn’t look too tasty - 8/10
Honeywisp - defenceless, though it can fly so it isn’t as easy as female sheargrub, no need to prepare, just drink the nectar it produces, and the nectar is said to be quite tasty (i think) - 9/10
Horned cannon beetle - same as its larva, but harder to hunt and prepare - 2/10
Iridescent flint beetle - harmless but very fast, doesn’t seem to have much edible meat on it, but it’s probably pretty tasty - 6/10
Joustmite - probably not too hard to hunt, it’s tail looks pretty easy to cook and eat - 8/10
Male sheargrub - slightly harder to hunt and prepare than the female one - 7.5/10
Mama sheargrub - female sheargrub but it’s probably pretty deadly - 6/10
Mamuta -cannot harm you directly and is peaceful until provoked, but inedible - 0/10
Puffy blowhog- can’t harm directly, but can push you off high falls and is likely annoying to hunt, plus it has almost no meat on it - 3/10
Titan blowhog- despite its size, it’s not too hard to hunt, plus it seems pretty easy to prepare and would taste nice - 8/10
Watery blowhog - can only kill you if you’re not wearing a space suit, but if you weren’t you’d die to PNF-404’s atmosphere first anyway, probably just a non spicy, watery version of the fiery blowhogs- 7/10
White spectralid- flies, is harmless, has almost no meat on it - 4/10
Baldy long legs- hard to hunt, doesn’t seem edible (and if it is it doesn’t seem tasty at all)- 0/10
Burrowing snagret- quite hard to hunt, though it is a bird, so presumably easy to prepare and is tasty- 7/10
Creeping chrysanthemum- quite deadly, especially if it catches you off guard, but frogs are eaten by humans, so probably pretty tasty and easy to prepare- 5/10
Desiccated skitter leaf- not very deadly at all, though it’s got almost no meat on it and probably tastes terrible - 1/10
Downy snagret- burrowing snagret but far less deadly and also smaller- 8/10
Mitite - harmless, probably tastes of crab, and can be prepared as such, just remove the shell- 8/10
Pyroclasmic slooch - wear a fireproof outfit and hit it from behind and it’s easy enough to kill, I would imagine it comes pre-cooked from the giant fire on its back, probably tastes fine - 6/10
Red spectralid- like the white one but spicy- 5/10
Skitterleaf- like the desiccated one but harmless and probably tastier- 4/10
Scutterchuck- a bit deadly if you don’t know what you’re doing, hard shell that needs to be removed before eating, tastes fine - 5/10
Swooping snitchbug- harmless by itself, though annoying to hunt and can fly, easy to prepare and seems tasty enough- 5/10
Waddlequaff- annoying to hunt, shell that needs removing, tastes ehh - 4/10
Yellow spectralid- spectralid but sweet- 5/10
one quastion for the people: which of these thangs do you think would be easiest to eat if you were tiny and not person-sized
#pikmin 4#my sources are pikmin 4 common sense what my brain tells me and that I mad eit the fuck up
