Meet Dr. Stuart L. Daitch

Stuart L. Daitch, D.M.D., P.C.

Dr. Stuart L. Daitch received his D.M.D. at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.  After a one year general practice residency at the Veteran's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, Dr. Daitch completed his two year residency in fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine.

He then returned to teach at Tufts and practiced in Natick, MA for 3 years, before he and his family returned to their native New York and opened his practice in Manhattan, N.Y.

Dr. Daitch lectures extensively, and is the Prosthodontic advisor to both The Manhattan Dental forum and The Cutting Edge Dental Seminars.

The Daitch family, which include wife Loren and their five children, reside in Merrick on the south shore of Long Island.

Dr. Norman Turkowitz, DMD

Norman Turkowitz is a compassionate and experienced dentist specializing in cosmetic dentistry in New York City. Dr. Turkowitz attended the University of Pennsylvania to receive his dental degree. Meet Dr. Paul R. Calat

Dr. Paul R. Calat is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who completed his dental training in 1996 at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA. For the next six years, he focused on advanced specialty training in the field of Oral Surgery and Dental Implantology at Columbia University/Harlem Hospital Center. He has earned the distinction of being named a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

A faculty member at both Mount Sinai Medical Center and Beth Israel Medical Center, Dr. Calat is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a member of the following associations: the New York Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association and the Hudson County Dental Society.

Committed to providing his patients the latest technology and the most advanced techniques available, Dr. Calat founded the Mid Manhattan Chapter of the Spear Dental Study Group in 2010, where he is able to collaborate with other dental colleagues on challenging patient cases as well as to participate in continuing education opportunities.

Meet Dr. Rosenberg

Dr. Rosenberg received his Doctor of Dental Medicine  Medicine (D.M.D.) degree in June 1975 from Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.

After graduation, he completed a General Practice Residency in Dentistry at Boston City Hospital (BCH), where he was one of two general dentistry residents, among fifteen oral surgery residents. Having obtained a solid foundation in both general dentistry and oral surgery, he was appointed as a staff dentist at Harvard Street Neighborhood Health Center (HSNHC) and as an Assistant Visiting Dentist at Boston City Hospital.

At the HSNHC, he practiced general dentistry for two years, dividing his practice between adult, adolescent and pediatric patients. He was part of the multidisciplinary Primary Care Training Program for Pediatric and Internal Medicine Residents and a pilot Adolescent Medicine Clinic at Harvard Street NHC. At BCH, Simon supervised and taught the general practice residents in the program he had completed.

Dr. Rosenberg then returned to New York City, to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) to start a two-year postgraduate specialty training residency in General Prosthodontics followed by a one-year fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthetics. The 1978-1980 residency program emphasized crowns, bridges, partial and complete dentures, and the 1980-1981 fellowship focused on advanced techniques to reconstruct patients after head and neck cancer surgery.

During those three years, Dr. Rosenberg also completed the requirements and successfully passed the American Board of Oral Medicine examination and was awarded Diplomate status. Oral Medicine achieved recognition as a Dental Specialty by the American Board of Dental Specialties in 2015.  The military, the dental schools, and numerous hospitals have training programs and active research programs in this area.

Dr. Rosenberg’s interest in this area includes treating the oral complications of head and neck cancer therapy by surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, as well as the treatment of numerous non-malignant oral conditions which present with mouth sores, ulcers, dryness, etc.

In the second year of his residency, Dr. Rosenberg was awarded support from the American Cancer Society. In the third year at MSKCC, he was supported by the Samuel and Hannah Holtzman Trust Fellowship, for advanced training in Maxillofacial Prosthetics.

From 1981 to 1983, Dr. Rosenberg was appointed as a “Special Fellow” in the Dental Service at MSKCC and combined clinical care with teaching and research. His research emphasized the oral complications of chemotherapy, including altered dental development in children treated with chemotherapy for cancer.

In 1983, Dr. Rosenberg was appointed to the full-time staff at Memorial Hospital (MSKCC) as an Assistant Attending. He continued on that staff until leaving, after eleven years at MSKCC, to set up full-time Private Practice in September 1989.

In 1985, Dr. Rosenberg passed Phase I Part 1 of the American Board of Prosthodontics and became board-eligible in prosthodontics.

Dr. Rosenberg’s research support included a Junior Clinical Faculty grant from the American Cancer Society from 1983-1985, a Leukemia Society of America Fellow grant from 1984-1986, two institutional research grants from the ACS and a three-year Clinical Investigator grant from the American Cancer Society.

Simon has published over twenty articles in dental and medical journals, two chapters in recent Dental Clinics of North America, the Care of the Mouth chapter in a cancer textbook (Manual of Oncologic Therapeutics), and co-edited The Clinician’s Guide to the Treatment of Oral Conditions.

He has lectured numerous times throughout the United States and Canada and in Colombia, South America.

Simon was born in Manhattan in 1950 and raised in Brooklyn. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School and Brooklyn College with a B.S. in Biochemistry. Currently, he lives with his wife and three children in the New York City area.

Dr. Constantina Bacopoulou

Constantina Bacopoulou, DDS, is a general and cosmetic dentist at Carnegie Dental Wellness Midtown West Manhattan in New York City. Dr. Bacopoulou received her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2006 from New York University College of Dentistry and has been in private practice ever since.

Dr. Bacopoulou went well beyond the mandatory educational requirements most dentists complete. After graduating from dental school, she completed several year-long and two-year-long fellowships in aesthetic and implant dentistry. These include a fellowship in Comprehensive Aesthetic Dentistry at the prestigious New York University (NYU) Rosenthal Institute of Aesthetic Dentistry and a fellowship in implantology (surgical and prosthetic treatment) at NYU. She has also served as faculty in the NYU College of Dentistry.

She works extremely hard to provide cutting-edge treatment. Dr. Bacopoulou’s office is a general practice offering a full range of treatments from metal-free restorations, all-natural oral hygiene care, patient education, and communication programs to whitening, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. She is currently a provider for Invisalign® and a member of the American Dental Association, American General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant dentistry. Meet Dr. Charles M. Marks

It is an honor to have the opportunity to deliver dental care, from the simplest checkup to advanced procedures, to the patients in our practice. Using advanced dental technology, this can be achieved with little or no discomfort. Knowing I can make a difference in improving the quality of another person's life gives me great satisfaction every day I come to work. I have enjoyed practicing high-quality dentistry since 1984, and look forward to practicing for many more years to come.

Education and Experience

It is because of my education that I am able to provide my patients with the best care and attention they deserve. I graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 and continued on to New York University College of Dentistry where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1984. I have also completed post-graduate training in molar endodontics, periodontal surgery, and dental implants.

I find all aspects of dentistry interesting and have continued to educate myself in specialty fields in order to always deliver fully comprehensive treatments, utilizing the most current and successful techniques available. I have taken continuing education courses in prosthodontics and all phases of cosmetic dentistry and am a member of several professional organizations that provide me with opportunities for continuing education, including the:

Meet Dr. Jessica deSouza

Dr. Jessica deSouza has been practicing dentistry for 10 years. She attended Yale University and obtained a B.A in Economics. While in university, she interned in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette (DLJ). She continued on to work as financial analyst at DLJ in the Technology Investment Banking Group. Dr. deSouza completed a Post Baccalaureate at Columbia University and obtained a DDS at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. She also completed a General Practice Residency at Veteran’s Administration Brooklyn Hospital. She is a member of the American Dental Society and NYS Dental Association. She participates with Osseoinstitute Study Club, Bayside Periodontics Study Club, and Women to Women Dentists. Dr. deSouza also volunteers with God’s Love We Deliver, Jan Hus Urban Outreach Center and Dental Lifeline.

Our Practice

The staff follows all of the OSHA and CDC infection control guidelines to make sure the operatory is prepared and safe for your care. They set up all of the instruments and dental supplies needed for the care you are to receive.

They are knowledgeable with most of the dental procedures so that they can answer your questions or refer your questions to me for proper answers that are individualized to your dental care and situation. They assist me in providing the best care most quickly and efficiently.

They also share the responsibility of scheduling lab work and ordering dental supplies so that everything needed for your care will be here at your next scheduled visit.

Most of us can assist you with billing questions, scheduling appointments, and assisting with X-rays.

Meet Dr. Lily Eng

“I enjoy practicing dentistry because of the profound impact I can make on the health and well-being of my patients. My practice philosophy is to restore and enhance dental function and cosmetics with the emphasis on conservative treatments. I recognize that the health of the teeth and mouth is reflection of the health of the whole body and this balance should be maintained by utilizing nontoxic materials. I use the latest technology with the goal of providing excellent care for my patients and always with an emphasis on comfort and personalized care. Although it is not a standard service offered, I have many times provided personal home or hospital visits for patients for their convenience when they temporarily became home or hospital bound”.

Dr. Lily Eng graduated from Columbia University with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1993. She stays up-to-date on the latest and most innovative dental procedures by traveling across the country to attend continuing education courses.

Dr. Eng is a board certified Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM). She is also a respected member of the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. Her focus is treating patients for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea using oral appliance therapy and orthodontics. Dr. Lily Eng is one of the few dentists in the New York City area trained in the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliances. She works closely with many sleep medicine physicians and otolaryngologists (ENTs).

Dr. Lily Eng became involved in sleep medicine when her Dad and husband were diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. She wasn't aware of the medical implications until she furthered her own research in the area and was also surprised to find out that many health professionals and the general public are not aware of the prevalence of this condition. It is her mission to educate her patients on the impact of this condition and the treatments available to amend and potentially cure this condition with the alliance of other sleep specialists.

Dr. Eng is a proud wife and mother and has a teenage son. In her spare time she enjoys exotic ethnic and regional foods and is an avid fan of the television show “Bizarre Foods” with Andrew Zimmern. She loves all the Marvel Comics movies such as X-Men, Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, The Avengers, etc. When she does have the occasional vacation break, she enjoys taking nature walks, hiking, and bicycle riding.

Her office accepts most dental and medical insurances and her staff will help with all insurance predeterminations and claims.
