A dental crown is a custom-made cap designed to cover a damaged or weakened tooth, restoring its shape, size, strength, and appearance. Crowns are commonly used in various situations, such as after a root canal, to support a large filling, or to protect a tooth that is severely worn or cracked.
Dental crowns can be made from several materials, including porcelain, ceramic, metal, or a combination of these. Porcelain and ceramic crowns are popular for their natural appearance, blending seamlessly with surrounding teeth. In contrast, metal crowns offer exceptional durability and strength, making them ideal for back teeth that endure heavy chewing forces.
The process of getting a dental crown typically involves two visits. During the first appointment, the dentist prepares the tooth by removing any decay and shaping it to accommodate the crown. An impression is then taken to create a custom crown. In the second visit, the permanent crown is placed and adjusted for a perfect fit.
Dental crowns not only enhance the aesthetics of your smile but also provide crucial support to weakened teeth, helping maintain oral health and function. With proper care, dental crowns can last many years, ensuring a beautiful, confident smile.

Tumblr media
Cake cutting
Every person loves cheesecake but cutting it is the most challenging task in the world. Have you ever wondered how the Instagram chefs and restaurants cut that perfect slice of cake? Just pick an unflavoured dental floss.
Not kidding, hold it above the cake where you would like to cut the cake, make it taut press down and voila! You will get a perfect slice single time.
Now time for brownies and bars, for a clean and crumb-free slice keep the knife under hot or above lukewarm water for a few seconds prior to digging in. repeat the process after every cut and do not forget to dry it as it will help prevent clumping on the knife.
Turntable
A cake turntable is literally a rotating platter that you use to turn the cake while leveling and frosting it. Turning the cake instead of having to walk all around the cake makes the entire process much easier. It is one of the very first Cake Decorating Tools in Australia that you must have.
Splitting the cake is more of an intermediate task, which you would do if you are applying filling inside the layers. But when you are ready for that, you will use the turntable for that as well.

In addition, you can even get a wide variety of sugar layons in copyrighted characters and ready-made paste flowers.
Beautiful royal icing roses and candy eyes for your icing or chocolate critters are worth getting. Besides all this, you can even buy cake pops and wonderful confetti to decorate your cupcakes.
Piping tips & bags
These tools are required to cerate different designs in a cake with cream. You can get both disposable and reusable options for piping bags, while the tips are attached to the tip of the bag to create the shapes like flowers, waves, swirls, and a lot more. And the same goes for writing with royal icing.
Of course, there is no substitute for actual cake-decorating experience, but a wonderful approach to practice is on a sheet of wax paper instead of the cake itself.
Frosting
Place the assembled layers on the turntable and apply a mound of frosting to the top, spreading it around with your palette knife while you rotate the cake. Do the sides next. It is best to work quickly so that everything stays cool. But when you are still learning, it may not be possible. So, it might help to take a break between doing the top and the sides, return the cake to the fridge in the meantime.
A cake smoother is a flat piece of metal with one flat edge and one serrated edge. It will produce a sharper finish than a palette knife. To use a smoother, run the edge along the sides of the cake while rotating it in the opposite direction.

Chapter one first draft advice
Chapter One.
The blank white walls of Claira’s reception area reminded her of her time in the hospital, though her office was well maintained and looked after the walls they still had that murky grey tint to them that all hospitals seem to have. Similarly the walls were completely bear with only healthcare posters as an exception and even then they were not used for decoration but instead used to incite people to feel fear so they would pay more money to try and have the unachievable dazzling smile that the obviously photo shopped woman in the picture has. She knew the posters were not complete lies but she still hated them, she would have much rather had a beautiful vase full of colorful blooming flowers sit opposite her desk then the bright pink bordered poster advertising dental care.
Claira’s job mirrored her office; it was mostly boring and bland with the odd situation or scenario that felt like it either did not belong there or out of place. She spent most of her days answering phone calls, asking the same repetitive questions, booking appointments and telling people “the dentist is ready to see you now”, or “you’ll be fine”. That phrase felt etched onto her brain. She once tried to count how many times she had said it in one day but after roughly the 55th one she lost count.
As she sat in her office chair which seemed to engulf her tiny frame, she sighed and rested her chin on her interlaced fingers and starred curiously out the window. People were rushing past too busy to notice her keeping watch. They were running around the high street, dragging their reluctant children behind them. Desperately trying to finish their shopping before rush hour started.
“Claira?” The question was posed by Claira’s boss Harrison Evans; he was a tall man who had a fresh face, with eyes so light green they almost looked grey. He glared at her and his expression was mostly blank except that one of his dark, bold eyebrows was slightly raised.
“Do you not have some work to be getting on with?” he asked in a raspy deep voice which created a small echo in the tiny reception.
“Sorry” she smiled, Claira liked Harrison, and he was a fair but firm boss and had always treated her well. He was aware of Claira’s history but it did not bother him at all, she had proven herself to him and he did not judge he only cared about her performance.
He smiled gently at her and two small dimples appeared one on each side of his slightly pink full lips. She tried not to blush, she did not have a crush on her boss but it was obvious that he was a good looking man. She grabs a pile of papers and continued to work until the end of her shift.
After a long day at work and what felt like a longer journey home in the rush hour traffic Claira finally walked through the front door of her home. It was a small house, painted all bright and light colours. Her kitchen was beige; her hallways were white, her bedroom coral, the dining room violet, the living room green and her daughter’s room pink.
She had been living in the suburbs for about 6 years now and it had really helped to calm her nerves. The village she lived in was quiet and clean and all of her neighbours were friendly and accommodating. When Claira had first moved in Mrs. Cottesmore who lived next door had turned up within the hour with a freshly baked cherry pie to welcome her. It seemed like a dream at the time and Claira did question it the next morning when she awoke. It was such a stereotypical scene, a sweet elderly woman with a large, white, casserole dish decorated with bright red roses stood at her door, with a gloriously big grin; but upon further investigation Claira found the half eaten pie in the fridge and had a small slice for her lunch.
When Claira finally reached home she saw the autumn leaves still lay in mounds on people’s yarn as the Taylor’s young son raked the yards that were yet to be groomed. Claira had seen him raking every day on her return from work, he had knocked at her door one day asking if she needed help, and stated he was only charging £3. Claira’s front garden was not particularly messy but the young man was at the age where he was too young to get a job but older enough to want one so she gave him a crisp five pound note and told him to keep the change. He smiled sweetly and she prayed internally that when Zophia was his age she would be just as sweet as he was.
Zophia was only four and she was Claira’s only child. She was a beautiful little girl with long ginger curls; she could have been mistaken for a porcelain doll. She was pale and had light orange freckles across the bridge of her nose that followed onto the edge of her cheeks. Claira was proud of her and was always glad to get home and hold her in her arms.
On this day Lola, Zophia’s nanny was sat on the living room couch reading a thick hardback book, on the floor in front of her lay Zophia covering in duvets and pillows, her eyes were closed and the sound of her breathing filled the room.
“She’s only been asleep for about 45 minutes, we made a pillow fort but I guess it was too comfortable for her” she laughed and Claira joint her laughter.
“Thank you for looking after her”. Claira whispered as she slowly lowered herself onto the floor and shimmied her way into the pillow fort and cuddled her daughter, moving the long curls off of her face. Zophia woke slightly, beamed at her mother, threw her arms around her neck and fell swiftly back to sleep. Lola pushed her hands through the front of her hair.
“I will see you both tomorrow” Lola whispered before quietly leaving, allowing Claira to also fall under the sandman’s spell.

Dentures are a popular and effective solution for replacing missing teeth, helping individuals regain their ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence. Whether you’ve lost teeth due to injury, decay, or aging, dentures offer a practical and affordable way to restore your oral health and overall quality of life.
What Are Dentures?
Dentures are custom-made prosthetic devices designed to replace missing teeth and surrounding tissues. They are removable and are typically made from durable materials like acrylic, nylon, or metal. Dentures are crafted to closely resemble natural teeth, ensuring they provide a natural look and feel.
Types of Dentures
There are several types of dentures available, each catering to different needs:
Full Dentures: Full dentures are used when all of the natural teeth are missing. They consist of a complete set of artificial teeth attached to a gum-colored base that fits over your gums. Full dentures can be further classified into:
Conventional Dentures: These are made after the remaining teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed, usually taking several weeks.
Immediate Dentures: These are made in advance and can be placed immediately after the teeth are removed. Adjustments may be needed as the gums heal.
Partial Dentures: Partial dentures are used when only a few teeth are missing. They are attached to your natural teeth using metal clasps or precision attachments. Partial dentures not only fill the gaps left by missing teeth but also help prevent the remaining teeth from shifting.
Implant-Supported Dentures: These dentures are anchored to dental implants, providing enhanced stability and comfort. Implant-supported dentures can be a great option for those who want a more secure fit, especially in the lower jaw, where traditional dentures can sometimes feel less stable.
Benefits of Dentures
Restored Functionality: Dentures allow you to chew food properly, which is essential for digestion and overall health.
Enhanced Aesthetics: Dentures can greatly improve the appearance of your smile and help restore the natural contours of your face.
Improved Speech: Missing teeth can make it difficult to speak clearly. Dentures provide the necessary structure to help you enunciate words properly.
Boosted Self-Confidence: With dentures, you can smile freely and confidently, knowing that your teeth look natural and attractive.
Caring for Your Dentures
Proper care and maintenance of dentures are crucial to ensure they remain in good condition and last for many years. Here are some tips for taking care of your dentures:
Daily Cleaning: Clean your dentures daily using a soft-bristled brush and a non-abrasive denture cleanser. Avoid using regular toothpaste, as it can be too abrasive and cause damage.
Soak Overnight: Most dentures need to be kept moist to maintain their shape. Soak your dentures in water or a mild denture-soaking solution overnight.
Handle with Care: Dentures can be fragile, so always handle them carefully. When cleaning, place a towel or a bowl of water underneath to prevent damage if they are accidentally dropped.
Regular Dental Checkups: Even with dentures, it’s important to visit your dentist regularly. They can check the fit of your dentures and ensure your gums and remaining teeth are healthy.
Adjusting to Dentures
It’s normal to take some time to adjust to wearing dentures. Initially, they may feel a bit awkward, and you might experience minor soreness or irritation. However, with time, your mouth will adapt, and wearing dentures will become more comfortable. Your dentist can make adjustments if needed to ensure the best fit.
When to Consider Dentures
If you are missing multiple teeth or all of your teeth, dentures may be an ideal solution. They are particularly beneficial for individuals who want an affordable, non-invasive option for tooth replacement. Dentures can significantly improve your quality of life by restoring your ability to eat, speak, and smile with ease.
