B - Bashful what’s something one finds embarrassing about themselves but the other finds adorable?

Mm...the only thing I can think that Clayman finds embarrassing about himself is the fact that he's not as strong as everyone else. I think that Wendy 1) disagrees 2) is absolutely enamored with how hard he trains in Revenge. The other jesters seem to think he IS actually as strong as Tear and Footman by the time ant battles fight, so...but Clayman still holds on to this idea.

Um as for the. The me- I still get shy about various intimate things and he thinks that's the cutest thing ever (while I'm like nooooo max flustered). Not that it isn't the same for him sometimes, actually...so I guess that. I will skip the details on this one! You get the idea.

E - Encourage how do they encourage each other?

Literally, Thought Communication and their Soul Corridor (via shared last name). We are sending feelings of love and trust over those things ALL the time, particularly the Soul Corridor.

But also there are absolutely days for both of us where we need more. Physical comfort, a listening ear, and sometimes words, sometimes not. There don't always need to be words, when they are insufficient in the face of our deep connection.

G - Greetings what was their first meeting like?

OOOOUUGHHGHFHFH!Q!!!! Alright buckle the FUCK in. Wendy is a Summoned Otherworlder - so uh, basically, Kazalim (with the jesters watching on) conducts a ritual to summon ME! I am torn from my world (that's the isekai bit) with no warning, and suddenly find myself on a stone floor (probably) surrounded by masking people towering over me! They speak a language I don't understand! TERRIFYING! Also my soul is bound to Kazalim so I must obey and that's gotta be a painful feeling too, in a way.

It was a super bad time for me honestly fkjhasfksdj and my SI barely remembers anything besides that initial image, and the terror, though even that emotion has faded and numbed with time.

Clayman was entranced by my beauty immediately. That said, he didn't yet feel sympathy for me, because he didn't really understand what my experiences were yet, and a crush is different than love or even basic care. But it did give him a lot of complex feelings even then (and he was relatively freshly created by Kazalim at that point, so it was a lot).

N - Nickname what are some names they like to call the other?

He calls me Dear and Darling a lot 🥺 I don't think I use a lot of petnames for him 🤔I like to use his name. Sometimes sweetheart? I could also see calling him hubby on occasion but mostly if I'm being particularly silly/overly affectionate for some reason. My big strong Demon Lord ❤️💞 stuff like that, too. My demon lord. Chapter 19 Thoughts

Firstly, I was so delighted to see that Clayman confided in his friends. It does make some sense though - he needed people to understand why they were all asleep suddenly. Well, Eva at least. It does sound like he's keeping it a secret from the Five Fingers. I wonder how he explained that away? Well, I guess they just have to listen and accept things sometimes, in any case.

I was also wondering when Rain would show up and the answer is NOW! It makes sense to see that the Hero is so powerful that Rain easily recognizes that she's stronger than Rain is, but it still surprised me for some reason! But then again, Rain is pretty easy going (Clayman is going to have quite the Rain shaped headache soon). ALSO THE HERO BEING ABLE TO PUT EVERYONE TO SLEEP IN THE ENTIRE CASTLE IS...SO MUCH...

This is the most incredible Clayman expression I've ever seen in my life. I made it one of my accounts pfps because. Truly. Beautiful.

I was also happy to see Laplace, and happy that his appearing without warning is so normal that Clayman doesn't even question it and accepts it at face value. Unlike Rain, who he questions immediately.

Anyway, the explanations and discussion in this chapter were good, but I think the most exciting thing was that we're going to the Engrassia auction next chapter! I am very excited about this because it sounded like Clayman himself was planning to go.

I've been curious about whether Clayman goes into human civilization and if so how he does that (I mean, besides "he walks"), especially since we do see him in a human city in the flashback of his first meeting with Yuuki. He was just wandering around casually in his normal Demon Lord outfit...that being said, one explanation for that is that he was expecting to meet Yuuki, even if he didn't know what he looked like. It still strikes me as supremely odd though. And it didn't seem like he was expecting to meet someone...? or if he did, he didn't know much about them at all since the whole Kazalim thing was a surprise.

Anyway, I digress. My point is, it seems like it would be very unusual and also terrifying (from a human perspective) for Demon Lords to regularly venture into human society. So I guess I'm curious if Clayman will go as himself or if he'd disguise himself...but tbh I don't think he's the type to use a disguise, he's much too proud. So in that case, how are people going to react to him? I'm very curious about that. Humans seem to feel Demon Lords are Very Evil Always so like...I can't imagine anyone will be happy, though maybe unable to do much about it since they're afraid. I think that will be very interesting to see.

Furthermore, the prospect of getting excellent magic items is very exciting too!!! That could make a huge difference in the power of both Clayman and his subordinates. I'm trying to think offhand if there were any magic items Rimuru gained that Clayman could potentially get instead, but I think most of Rimuru's came from Kurobe, so I don't think that will be relevant...but even so, it's still got a lot of potential. And Clayman is loaded, though he may become destitute if he doesn't watch Rain- just kidding. Mostly.

So yes! I enjoyed this chapter but it's left me very very eager for the next one!

If you love the world building or want more from the characters this is worth the read. You get a lot more from the antagonist perspectives too” Kazalim, Laplace, Clayman, etc... you get to know them and their motivations better.

TenSura – 48 (S2 Fin) – Complacent No More

Last week hinted that Round 2 with Clayman might not be a cakewalk, but that was not the case, as not only does he end up defeated, but straight up executed by Rimuru. That’s fine with me, good riddance, really. If can’t keep track of how many times Clayman says “Okay, NOW I’m going to get serious”, it’s happened too many damn times!

Rimuru dealt with Clayman in the time it took to roll the opening credits, leaving the remainder of the episode the boring part of Walpurgis, in which I got scary flashbacks to the opening six (seven?…eight?) episodes of this season that were nothing but people discussing things while seated in a circle. At least it’s a little more interesting here due to the new characters.

The business of Walpurgis is as follows: Clayman is defeated, Guy Crimson officially recognizes Rimuru as a Demon Lord with no objections, Roy Valentine’s maid turns out to be the real Demon Lord, Luminus (whose name Veldora couldn’t remember). Frey and Carrion, having seen the strength Rimuru demonstrated, decide to resign their Demon Lordships and become disciples of Milim.

Finally, after Guy draws very close to Rimuru and insists he do so, Rimuru gives the Former Ten Demon Lords a new name, something that was apparently took up an entire Walpurgis last time they needed one. I kind of like the idea that these guys are so powerful that they don’t have much to do, and that they take something like naming their group so seriously. Rimuru comes up with Octogram: The Eight-Star Demon Lords, which everyone likes.

While Rimuru is over being a big hit with his new fellow ‘Lords, Roy Valentine returns home just in time to encounter Laplace, who was sneaking around Luminus’ mansion until he encountered Sakaguchi Hinata (Hi Hinata!) and double-timed it out of there.

But while the Harlequin is afraid to even face Hinata in battle, he eliminates Roy quite easily, apparently unaware he isn’t the real Demon Lord Valentine. Doesn’t matter; Laplace is pissed that Clayman is dead. No doubt he’ll seek revenge on Rimuru.

Rimuru, however, won’t be so naïve or vulnerable next time. Out of the crucible that was the coordinated attack on his domain and his people, Demon Lord Rimuru Tempest was forged. This Rimuru is a little harder, a little more cognizant of the big dangerous world he lives in, and a lot less complacent. That said, I’m sure he’ll allow himself a few days of celebration, rest, and relaxation back home.

With the three remaining members of the Harlequin Alliance, Kazalim, Hinata, Yuuki, and who-knows who else (I imagine there are still some fiercely-powerful beings we’ve yet to meet) still out there, Rimuru has plenty to be vigilant about and prepared for.

As for TenSura, looks like it’s getting a movie in Fall 2022. Until then, the second part of this second season got a bit rough at the start there, but led to some fine payoffs. TenSura is nothing if not consistent.

lilting voice ୧ ‧₊˚ how does their voice sound to u ? what does their laughter sound like to ur ears ? do their whispers sound like the most saccharine song of the nightingales ? is their tone as smooth and rich as velvet or is it scratchy, a little grating, but nonetheless charming in its own way ? is it possibly that they don’t have a voice at all ? if not, do their other ways of communication still captivate you ?

His voice is so fjdksahfkjs it's really nice it's very smooth and he speak very elegantly and I'm told he uses the more feminine forms in Japanese which I love for him. I could listen to him all day. He sounds as fancy as he is and that's that on that fdaksjhfksa ALSO we have Thought Communication so he speak directly into my brain which you can imagine does things to me fkdsajhfjkds

intimate knowledge ୧ ‧₊˚ what are some hidden features of ur fﾉo that not many people are privy to ? things like a secret birthmark, the fact that they are ambidextrous, the bump on their nose that is actually the result of breaking it as a child. do these small facts about them fascinate u ? do the stories behind them make u swoon for them even more, if possible ?

The thing this makes me think of is his mask! His family of course is familiar with it, but it links him to the Moderate Jesters and he's trying to appear distant from them as a Demon Lord for safety reasons for everyone, so he doesn't wear it much. But I super hc he wears it when he's alone and feeling a lot of strong emotions, positive or negative! It's a comfort item!!!

My rendering of his mask. I saw him go from wearing it all of the time (like the other jesters) to not at all because my SI has been around the entire time just about, so they know how significant it is to him. I also think it is just so...like...it looks really cute on him. He's very cute and handsome wearing it. I like seeing him in it. It's special!!!! He's usually really feeling himself when he's wearing it.

Additionally, I hc that he's a he/him demiboy. He doesn't have strong feelings about gender particularly, so it's just a small detail that he doesn't really share with people most of the time, but I know and it makes me love him even more, especially as it helps me feel like he gets my own gender fuckery a bit better than most people would, which is nice. In fact, of my f/os in general, I think he understands it the most, especially in modern AUs where I always make Kazalim/Kagali (his parents) very very genderfluid. Very important to me!!!

🍏 - if you have any queer headcanons for your f/o, how did they realize they were queer?

He is a biromantic demisexual demiboy to ME. I honestly think in the main verse like...most of this does not come up, or like if it does it comes from me (since I was isekai'd). Me being nonbinary gender will eventually come up and hence we get to demiboy, and possibly my own graysexuality would come up too...I'm not sure he'd figure out that he's bi in the main timeline.

In modern AU the answer is a lot more interesting imo! I have Kazalim/Kagali being a genderfluid parent to him, and so from very early he's kind of aware and accepting of differing genders. I think he's able to conclude relatively early that he's a demiboy as a result, and I think he would realize he's bi and ace just from his own experiences growing up and support from a loving family who normalizes being queer.

🧅 - what makes your f/o cry? do they get emotional at sad movies or books? do they only get emotional under very rare circumstances?

🥺in the main timeline I think mostly what makes him cry is me. In the sense of like...deep love for me or if he feels like he hurt me somehow. I don't get the sense he cries very often, even if he is sad. He's got an image as a Demon Lord to maintain! I do think he's very sensitive though.

In a modern au setting he cries quite a bit easier. Sad movies? Yes. Sad books? Yes. That one ad we used to see all the time with the sad animals wanting to be adopted? Yes. He's sensitive and in this world he was raised in a family that is very open to that, and he's by far the most sensitive of his siblings. That said, I think it doesn't happen when he's in business mode (as the VP of his parent's massive company) - it doesn't happen from being overwhelmed particularly often. Extraordinarily good at masking (wait a second am I just describing me - cries often except when masking heavily- shit- FKJEHWFJKEW).

Wendy and I rarely have need to leave the castle, quite honestly. Going places is a chore for me as a Demon Lord, and I must always consider the politics involved if I were to be recognized. Politically speaking, Wendy is a representation of my force, as one who has led my armies through many slaughters, though in recent decades I've had them ease off, so they can fade into obscurity again and conduct missions that are more than mere murder. Still, memories are long lived, so it's something I must take into consideration if I were to plan an outing.

But there is one place - within Jistav there are natural hot springs. Going there is a special treat that is perhaps overdue.

🤔 - How long have you two known each other?

Oh, centuries and centuries. Why, I've known Wendy since they first arrived in this world, pulled here by Lord Kazalim's summoning spell. I've watched them grow over the centuries, and our love has only grown more and more in that time. Truly, no one can hope to compete with that.

Well funny you should say that it's swiftly becoming College AU, though all of these are pretty damn fleshed out. But College AU also includes a ton of other characters and it's just so FUN I love it, I'm sure I'll end up writing for it eventually fkjdsahfkjds

[FAKE DATING] - How would a reverse/personality swap AU work between your f/o and s/i?

personality swap...HONESTLY I don't- it wouldn't be us then anymore I get very confused by personality swap HOWEVER role swap is pretty interesting! If I was the Demon Lord and he was the summoned human...it would sort of shift our personalities though because it's hard to be cocky and smug the way he is in canon if he's...new to the world and lost. But I would be a lot friendlier than he was initially to me because I have excellent emotional intelligence (esp compared to him fkjdhfa). I think he would end up being the sort of subordinate Yamza is to him in canon - very aggressively and ready to tell everyone else how much they suck compared to me and to praise me endlessly. I let him- fkjdshafksa as for me...well, I would certainly be very confident. I'm not really super scheming myself the way he is in canon though so I no doubt talk to Laplace and Clayman and Kazalim and seek far more feedback than Clayman tends to in canon. Results in much better thought out plans until the mind control anyway-

[CROSSOVER] - Take your f/o and s/i and put them in another fandom! What happens? What do their stories look like now? Any big design changes?

Let's consider Genshin!!! His family strikes me as one that would work with the Fatui, even if they have their own goals related to Celestia...but they keep those under wraps. They have no qualms about doing dangerous or awful things. They also aren't human - maybe they're like Klee or maybe specifically Kazalim is like Klee (and part of the Hexenzirkel even) and the jesters + Clayman are homonculi like Albedo. Clayman's role would be to hold a rich and powerful position in Fontaine which he does fantastically. His Vision would be...

Electro, for the way he follows his family's plan for eternity. And also the electrical currents can be controlled to puppet others, allowing him to remain a sort of puppeteer, though this kind is far less suited for espionage and such and is more just terribly painful I imagine. But he could manipulate and control mechanical bodies perhaps.

As for my SI, in this case I suppose they would be living a mundane life in Fontaine, up until they are accused of a crime and almost wrongly convicted. Evidence that salvages their case is found last minute, but the whole experience traumatized them (yeah totally stealing from an actual Genshin SI's bg but shhh) and perhaps led to a Cryo Vision (which they use to create ice shards much like Tensura SI's "crystalline shards" and shields, and perhaps even wings though I doubt they could actually fly with them, more as an expression of art). Their belief and trust in gods is shaken - they understand now that their archon is quite fallible.

Clayman snatches them up straight away. I imagine he attends the trials at the Opera quite often and he sees how broken I become, and sees opportunity there. And the Vision. He also sees the Vision. And also sees that I'm pretty-

Anyway you get the idea, I am initially repulsed when I learn of the terrible actions his family does but I come to accept that since Clayman has already somewhat groomed me on their motives and goals and as such I begin to be able to look past all sorts of atrocities they slowly unveil to me, and before long I am committing them as well.

In my Rich Bitch Trio AU/modern AU I have this whole thing about how his parent (Kazalim) is very gender fluid (based on them changing gender twice in canon) and so he's super familiar with concepts of exploring gender and as such concluded he's a nonbinary man (in much the same way I'm a nonbinary woman).

Talk of summertime – Do you talk about your future often with your f/o? What does that future look like?

Mostly in the context of his plans (Kazalim's plans) and the implication that I will be there at his side to see them come to fruition. He does like to talk about the future where we will rule together, side by side! And then that usually devolves into kisses and sweetness to be honest-

The unseen genius – You walk in on your f/o singing your praises to someone, and they have yet to notice you. What are they saying? Alternatively, what would your f/o overhear if they caught you talking about them to someone?

HKJEWHFJHEWK this happens ALL THE TIME he's like Wendy is my most talented magic born, and also beautiful, and also my wife- he's just going off to some poor trapped subordinate FKJEWHFKJEW but also if he's going off to like Laplace, Laplace is trying to tease him and Clayman's just not noticing cause he's too in love

The necklace Clayman gave my SI (in a fic that was rated E so many of you haven't read it) has a listening device installed in it. Even once they know this, Wendy keeps wearing it. So he does hear them praise him. I will talk about his intelligence, and his cunning most of all when I speak to others. Hype up his skills, his will and drive, and the ultimate trust I have in him.

The prison in my mind – What haunts your f/o, and how do you help them with it?

He knows he's weaker than Laplace, Tear, and Footman, not to mention other Demon Lords, and this really eats at him :c I waffle on whether my SI is stronger than him - but they probably are. He's really insecure about all of this.

I make sure to praise him regularly and to remind him of his good points - to remind him that regardless of their strength, the others don't have the mental acumen and fortitude to play the role he does in this plan. That he's special, and this is something only he can do (parroting Kazalim's words to him). I try to encourage him to seek praise from Kazalim too - to express his feelings. But he isn't quite willing to do that...

So the five fingers are Clayman's top generals. We have Mjurran, Alvaro, Yamza, Pirone, and Adalmann (and in the main timeline Alvaro has been replaced with Nine Head but most of our ship takes place centuries before). For the most part what I'm discussing is very much based on Clayman's Revenge and NOT the main timeline because it's more fun and up until a certain point it's the same timeline anyway

UNDER THE CUT!

So starting with Alvaro first.

he's the thumb of the five fingers prior to...uh...some point in time? By the time the main plot rolls around he's been ousted (but this wasn't the case 70 years beforehand seeing as Alvaro is still here in Clayman's Revenge. He's a dark elf, and he used to report to Kazalim. When Kazalim was killed, he and his army became Clayman's subordinates (and were happy to do so). I like how his hair goes around his horns into I think braids if I recall? Anyway!

Yes braids. ANYWAY! He's cool and reliable and legitimately loyal to Clayman which is cool. Wendy and Alvaro get along well, though Wendy doesn't often work directly with him as compared to some of the other Five Fingers. It is a relationship of mutual respect.

The next is Adalman, the Wight King and Index Finger.

He was a gift from Kazalim (he's under a curse) so he guards the castle and actually cannot leave. He's very strong though! Wendy and Adalman don't have much of a relationship so...yep. There's that.

The middle finger is Yamza. Yamza is very funny. He joined Clayman of his own accord and is quite thirsty for power. He also totally idolizes Clayman fkjdsahfkjdsa it's kind of adorable.

He's actually the one who got Alvaro kicked out by making Clayman suspicious of him (oops). He's also not the most loyal though, in the main plot he tries to flee in battle when it's clear he'll lose (admittedly, this is because Clayman will kill him if he loses), but of course Clayman predicted this and he still gets to die fkjdsahf ANYWAY in Clayman's Revenge we see how much he idolizes Clayman. I'm not sure about the timeline but in my mind he joins up before the Wendy-Clayman relationship is public and as such he sees me as something to overcome to get more power. I kick his ass naturally. But he's SO annoyed Clayman gives me preferential treatment fkjdsahf. Once the relationship comes out he's like oh okay yeah no that's fine (though he still wants to best me in battle and still can't). I love how much he looks up to Clayman though it's REALLY cute. He gets all sparkly eyed. So Wendy can't really be that bothered by him being an idiot about it sometimes cause they get it uwu

Mjurran is the ring finger.

Mjurran has a major role in the main plot. The way that she came to be under Clayman is that she was a human witch, very talented, and she was dying. He offered her a body that doesn't age and essentially eternal life on the condition she work for him, and she took that offer. He used his skill Marionette Heart to steal her heart and turn her into a majin. So she got what she wanted, but lost her freedom. He can basically kill her (destroy her heart) at literally any time so...she really resents him for that. And he isn't exactly nice to her fkjhdsakjf by the time the main plot rolls around, he sees her as disposable. In Clayman's Revenge though he actually gives her back her heart - and she swears her allegiance of her own accord at that time.

That's well after the point when she and I have met. Thanks to Pirone (who is next to discuss) she gets dragged into teasing me about my apparent crush on the demon lord even though that's the last thing she wants to be talking about fkjdsahf Pirone brings us together for "girls night" type activities. Mjurran doesn't hate me - she can't bring herself to, even though she does hate Clayman and I willing want to serve him and sacrifice for him (and kiss him kjfHkjhkjee). I've softened his behavior towards her on multiple occasions as well, though she may not always be aware of that. But we are friends, is my point.

Lastly is Pirone, the pinky finger.

Deeply amused by this image, sums her up pretty good KJFEWH her and her brothers (Koening. All of them are named Koening???) were starving on the streets when Clayman scouted them. He scouted Pirone for her reconnaissance abilities mostly as I recall. She is exceedingly loyal and seems excited at the prospect of dying for him fkjdshfkjdsa her brothers are idiots and she yells at them a lot.

She is SO friendly she decides we're friends basically and I accept this. She is also SUPER excited about the idea of Clayman and I being romantically involved and teases the fuck out of me about my crush which I insist is not returned (it is). Like I said, she loves organizing girl's nights for herself, me, and Mjurran. She's the glue of our friendship. Very excitable. Clayman Wendy stan. Love her. Probably the one I would go on missions with the most since her abilities don't go much beyond scouting.

Anyway!!! yep!!!! I went on for 20 years. I really like all these characters 🥰

I figured I had better answer this one personally, lest Wendy sell themself short. They can be rather modest at times.

of course, I was quite struck by them immediately upon meeting them. But looks, gorgeous as they are, aren't everything. No, it was watching them struggle and grow in this world they were thrust into that truly pulled me to them. Humans are often so weak - not just physically, since obviously a Summon is incredibly strong, but mentally too. They are easy to break, souls ripe for the taking.

Wendy never broke in that same way. They had setbacks, certainly, but they never remained...broken. I was impressed with them from the start for that. They had it much harder than we did. A human among monsters, torn from a peaceful world and brought here, where might is king. So many humans would not have survived that.

But Wendy did. And that speaks to many of their most wonderful qualities. Determination and inner strength and force of will. Those were the things that drew me in. W-well, besides how attractive I thought them, of course...

but it would be a long few centuries before I would make my confession to them. For good reason, of course. I was working on becoming a Demon Lord with great haste! I wasn't cowardly or anything like that!

In that time, I was able to see even more wonderful qualities reveal themselves before my eyes - that dedication, that force of will, was applied to those they cared about. I was quite honored to be within that circle, even once the seal that kept them by my side at first was removed due to Lord Kazalim's untimely passing. And, as ruthless and efficient as they had grown towards their (our) enemies, they managed to still maintain their shy, cute, and affectionate side, reserved solely for their allies and closest friends. I was even more honored to be part of that group...

Their strength and power is titillating, their ruthlessness in battle attractive, but it is so much more than that which I adore about them. Their sweet smile and laugh, the way they can get even myself to be silly with them, and the way they never hesitate to cheer me up when I'm feeling down. They are intelligent, and empathetic, and brighten a room just by being in it (well, except when they're snuffing out the light of enemy lives, I suppose, fufufu). I feel truly seen by them, and in turn I encourage them to be themself in the same way they enable me to be. They're beautiful, and sweet, and I am blessed to be tied to them by my very soul as Demon Lord Clayman Verite and Mistrum Wendy Verite.

I have TWO SIs but 99% of the time I talk about isekai!SI so I'm gonna do that now as well- fkjdhsafkjdsa

They are one Wendy Verite (that was not their original surname) who, in a bizarre twist of fate, is isekai'd from modern times into a much, much earlier part of the timeline, after being summoned by Demon Lord Kazalim. So...centuries ago. Not long after Kazalim created Clayman and the other members of the Moderate Harlequin Alliance. Kazalim puts a lock on them, as one does when you summon Otherworlders, and it's a pretty damn good one since Kazalim is the known as the Curse Lord for good reason. So strong, that Kazalim can say something like, "obey Clayman as if he was me". And thus Clayman's first subordinate is decided. (As a sidenote, once Kazalim is killed, the lock is lifted)

Laplace, Tear, and Footman actually do a fantastic job getting Wendy comfortable with them - Clayman struggles in that regard at first, because he's quite interested in them but they've got this rather awkward master-subordinate power dynamic...but he really wants to be friendly with them, like the others are. It's a tricky time. I kind of hc that he's a bit more uncertain and awkward at first than he is now. And maybe has a crush. Mysteeerious.

So one particular note of interest...how is Wendy, a human, still around when it's been CENTURIES before the main plot starts? Well. The original plan was that if Wendy was useful and survived long enough, Clayman could take their heart with Marionette Heart, turning them into a majin.

This ended up not being necessary. Between spending so much time amongst majin (and consequently their magicules) and their body being rebuilt frequently by their Unique Skill, Crystalline Regeneration, over time they became a majin. They are quite good at subduing their aura though, and their general appearance remained the same, since it was a transformation over time, so they can pass for a human despite this.

Lastly for the moment, Wendy really does view Laplace, Tear, and Footman as family, in addition to Clayman, of course. They have a good relationship with all of them. Their relationship with Kazalim is...more complex. There's resentment mixed in with genuine care and gratitude. And once Clayman is killed? Oof. These two are going to get along extra badly at that point. More details on that pending as I read more of the light novels. Buuuut. Yeah. It's complex. No such complexities exist with the other clowns though.

Valentine's Day Self Ship Questions

adoration — how would your f/o speak about you to someone else?

It depends a little but there's always some level of gushing!!! Much as he gets proud of himself for little things, he behaves the same way about me so fkjahfksa in particular to Laplace, Footman, and Tear he'll just start gushing all proudly (and then they probably tease him a little but it's all good natured). Laplace in particular he'll actually intentionally gush to~

He will lowkey gush at his subordinates. Even when he's being formal and controlling himself he'll still speak very highly of me whether it's my combat capabilities, intelligence, or something else that's actually relevant to the situation at hand.

crush — when did your f/o realize their feelings for you? how did they deal with those feelings?

okay LORE DUMP. So Clayman and the other clowns (Laplace, Footman, and Tear I mentioned above!) were created by Kazalim, who was another Demon Lord. They were like a family!!! Kazalim called them all his children 🥺 anyway somewhere before Clayman became a Demon Lord (which was Kazalim's will) he summons me (whoosh get isekai'd by sheer probability) and I join the family as a friend for everyone and also somewhat of a gift to Clayman as his first subordinate. When people from "our" world are summoned into that world, usually a curse is carved into their soul so they must obey the one who summoned them. So I can't disobey Kazalim. Anyway, he just tells me to obey Clayman's orders as if he was the one who controlled me. (Incidentally, when Kazalim is killed later, I'm released from this, but I stick around anyway of course)

Even this early, Clayman has a puppy crush >w< at this point he still wears a mask all the time (like the other clowns do, because Kazalim does 🥺 I love this little clown family), which he's grateful for because he's quite shy of me because he has feelings he's never had before. He's still pretty young (given that by canon time he's like 2000+ don't get me wrong he's an adult lol) so it's new!!! Unfamiliar!!! Scary!!! But he also wants to be friends 🥺 I don't think he'll realize what this feeling is for a bit - but before he becomes a Demon Lord he will. Possibly because Laplace and the others bully him about it (lovingly)- fkjsahfkjhdsa

but yeah the way he deals with it is being a little bit awkward though he does figure it out! And then there's a lot of like you know...making excuses to touch me, or talk to me...not that he needs to work very hard on that last one cause he's my lord and so I need to make reports and get assignments and such from him :D

hugs — are you and f/o affectionate / open about your relationship in public?

We definitely try to keep it hidden outside of Clayman's ranks. Though, admittedly, the other Demon Lords all probably know because it's not that hard to know. We're at Walpurgis (meeting of all the Demon Lords) making soft eyes at each other whenever we meet gazes like fkjdsahfkjdsa yeeeeeah it's obvious.

He tries not to be overly affectionate in front of his subordinates to some degree but like light cuddling in front of them is fine. HONESTLY the reason is mostly that they might all CHEER if we kiss or something so- KJFEWHKJF IT'S A LITTLE EMBARRASSING THAT THEY DO THAT- though I dunno that he would mind that much he likes attention and praise so- well, mostly it's not professional I guess so kjfdhsafhdsak it happens sometimes though. But he has an image to maintain as well so not too much for that reason as well-

However in front of the other clowns and Eva (his maid!) he's happy to be quite affectionate with me. Inner circle kind of thing. If we're too pda in front of Tear though she's going to demand I cuddle her as well HFJEWHFKEW which I don't mind she's Smol (and also as old as Clayman but she's SO SMOL and cutesy she's baby) but Clayman gets pretty annoyed about KJFHEWKHF

I was introduced to him December 17th by a friend dsjahd so a little over a month. I have fallen so hard in that time...

2. whether or not they’ve ever made me cry

His death in the anime devastated me last night 🥲 I couldn't stop crying. It wasn't enough to kill him but to really drag it out and humiliate him and just- it was so brutal 😭 I'm not over it

3. whether or not i have any merchandise/objects with them

Nope!!! but I did see he had a figure come out last year and I want it so bad kdjashfkjsda if I'm really lucky maybe I can find it while I'm in Japan but I won't count on it. Additionally I am lowkey considering commissioning a plush of him...but I need to get beyond the honeymoon phase fkjdsahfkds

4. what about their personality i like

he's honestly kind of a puppy he does ONE thing right and he looks SO PROUD OF HIMSELF and it's really really cute like. Omg yes you are a merciless and ruthless demon lord but also you look really proud of yourself for minor tasks- fdskjahfkjsda he's a dork, basically, underneath his scheming cleverness.

5. what about their backstory makes me emotional

🥺well. He knows he's the weakest of the four members of the Moderate Harlequin Alliance. Because his strength was never intended to be fighting - it was meant to be scheming and cunning, and as a result of creating Kazalim making him smarter, it meant he's not suited for battle like the others. But he has somewhat of an inferiority complex around it, it seems like. Stength is the currency in this world, more or less, and he'll always be a step behind. I dunno that just hits me in the kokoro.

confession — how’d the confession happen, and looking back on it, what are your (and f/o’s) thoughts abt how you both were back then?

Honestly I'm still trying to figure this one out exactly. But timing wise, it's sometime after Clayman becomes a Demon Lord, and after Kazalim is killed and it's understood that I'm no longer magically bound to obey Clayman. I think I had decided that he'll be the one to initiate it...only at the point where he's been sufficiently built up and convinced by Laplace that it's obscenely obvious that I like him back. Then he'll probably but on his confident face, pose, and...well, will he just confess straight up or will he accuse me of liking him and therefore GOOD NEWS FOR YOU, WENDY! Oh yeah it's definitely that one-

Like. "Wendy. It's become clear to me that you harbor romantic feelings for me. Now, don't be embarrassed, because I've got good news for you. I also have f-feelings for you!" His carefully planned facade breaks a little

In retrospect he feels silly for being so over the top about it but it did make it easier for him fdkjsahfkjdsa and I think it's cute. Even cuter the more time passes frankly fkjdhsafks

I may still change this but this feels right at the moment!

Tear, Footman, and Laplace all know Clayman so well AND it was painfully obvious anyway so...yep. They gently bully him about it when I'm not around fjdhafkjdsa

they don't tend to bully me - Tear and Footman see me as kind of an older sister type figure, and they'd rather bully Clayman because it's more fun anyway.

Laplace is a different story. As I mentioned above, he helps build Clayman up to actually confessing (he was a mess fdhsafkjds). He also talks to me about it somewhat seriously at one point. Mostly...to get me realizing that it was actually possible. Like...what's holding you back? You know, if you like...you've seen how he looks at you. That sort of thing. Still Clayman ends up confessing first, but Laplace was egging us on from both sides cause he wanted to see us happy and also please just kiss already ffs

Some of his subordinates might also realize it - most likely Pirone and Mjulan, but...they're not dumb enough to say anything where Clayman can hear. Actually, they might lowkey bully me now that I think about it...since I was also technically a subordinate of Clayman like them...invite me to a girl's night and it's actually to find out details of "what's going on with you and Clayman-sama" fkjdhafkjas

soulmates — do you believe in soulmates? what about your f/o? did that change for either of you when you met each other?

I wonder if soulmates is a concept in this world! Clayman might believe in some form of destiny or fate. After all, the chances of us meeting in the first place were incredibly slim. I'm from another world, and the summoning ritual often fails, so we really beat the odds there. I bet that might embolden him to think of it as ordained by fate (much as he does initially seem to believe that power is just granted without training for some reason fdkhfakdsa).

I don't believe in soulmates. But I do count myself incredibly lucky that things turned out as they did, once I understand exactly how slim the probability was...even if I didn't feel blessed at all at first.
