Michael from The Good Place, Season 3, Episode 11: All along, I've only been looking at 1 Doug. But there's millions of Dougs in here. In 1534, Douglas Winegar of Hockhurst, England gave his grandmother roses for her birthday. He picked them himself, walked them over to her, she was happy boom, 145 points. Now, ... In 2009, Doug Ewing of Scagsville, Maryland also gave his grandmother a dozen roses. But he lost 4 points. Why? Because he ordered roses using a cellphone that was made in a sweatshop. The flowers were grown with toxic pesticides, picked by exploited migrant workers, delivered from thousands of miles away creating a massive carbon footprint, and his money went to a billionaire racist CEO who sends his female employees pictures of his genitals! ... Don't you understand? ... Because everyday, the world gets a little more complicated and being a good person gets a little harder."
And then continuing in episode 12,
"Life now is so complicated that it is impossible for anyone to be good enough for the Good Place. ... These days, just buying a tomato at a grocery store means that you are unwittingly supporting toxic pesticides, exploiting labor contributing to global warming. Humans think that they're making 1 choice, but they're actually making dozens of choices that they don't even know they're making."
When the Judge then goes to Earth to learn more about the human condition, she returns and has this to say:
"Tanzania, Paraguay, Vietnam, Denmark. It's terrible everywhere, and always in a different way! The only place I liked was Hawaii, although I barely left the resort. ... Earth stinks, y'all. It's hot and its crowded, but somehow also cold and lonely. I thought it was going to be so easy to make good decisions. The first thing I did was I googled 'big juicy natural tomatoes', which led me to a pornsite that was for people with a sunburn fetish. I kinda never recovered."
Highest recommendations, The Good Place was a phenomenal show, and these were just taken from 2 episodes that felt particularly relevant to the whole theme of this post. Also, the gif of the guy in this is Chidi and he's one of the main characters of the show.
Can I watch a great film knowing the actresses in it were terrorized and mistreated the entire time? Can I watch a football game knowing that the players are getting brain injuries right before my eyes? Can I listen to my favorite albums anymore knowing that the singers were all beating their wives in between studio sessions? Can I eat at the new fancy taco place knowing when the building that used to be there got bulldozed eight families got kicked out of their homes so they could be replaced with condos and a chain restaurant? Can I wear the affordable clothes I bought downtown that were probably assembled in a sweatshop with child labor? Can I eat quinoa? Can I eat this burger? Can I drink this bottled water? Can I buy a car and drive to work because I’m sick of taking an hour each way on the subway? Whose bones do I stand on? Whose bones am I standing on right now?

Street vendors in Vietnam
Even though by no way is it unique to Vietnam, street vending is an essential part of city life.
Even though by no way is it unique to Vietnam, street vending is an essential part of city life.
Street vendors in Hoi An.
Street vendors can be roughly divided into three types: those who constantly move around either by bike or on foot, those who have a stable stand on a street, and lastly, those who own a shop and display their products on the pavement.
They serve as an informal yet extremely important agent in the local economy.
Products vary widely as needs call for. In general, fruits, flowers, and domestic products are the most common goods.
Strange as it may sound, street vendors do have regular customers and stable trading relationships.
Therefore, while there are certainly deviations, quality is often preserved to a good extent.
Local people who shop for fresh groceries everyday can enjoy the luxury of having products delivered to their door at a competitive price without a delivery fee.
However, bargaining is a must, especially if you are a tourist or a foreigner, or perhaps both.
Another indispensable function street vendors play is to provide a great variety of food 24/7, all year around.
Types of food may alter with the feel of a season.
Street vendors may be considered equivalent to fast food because a dish is often ready in no time, but unlike fast food, it is not mass-produced and contains significantly less fat.
Food hygiene and safety is a significant concern and a major reason for a recent decree passed by the government to restrict street vending.
If you are not sure how much your stomach can tolerate and how safe the dish is, you may not want to take the risk that comes with eating street food.
So a wise thing to do is to consult a friend from the area if you can, for they know whom can be trusted.
If no advice is available, then go for a shop with more people eating rather than a quiet one, since good business indicates good quality.

Another advantage of choosing an online florist in Vietnam is the competitive pricing. Online florists often have lower overhead costs compared to physical stores, allowing them to offer better prices. Additionally, they frequently provide special offers, discounts, and promotions, making it more affordable to send beautiful flowers to your loved ones.
7. Personalized Services
Online florists in Vietnam often provide personalized services to cater to your specific needs. Whether you need a customized bouquet, special packaging, or a personalized message, online florists are equipped to meet your requests. This level of customization helps to make your gift even more special and meaningful.
8. Easy Comparison and Reviews
When choosing an online florist in Vietnam, you can easily compare different florists and their offerings. Many online platforms provide customer reviews and ratings, helping you make an informed decision. By reading reviews and comparing prices, you can select a florist that meets your expectations in terms of quality, service, and price.
9. 24/7 Availability
Unlike physical flower shops, online florists are available 24/7. This means you can place an order at any time, day or night, making it incredibly convenient for those with unpredictable schedules. Whether you remember a special occasion at the last minute or want to place an order during non-business hours, online florists are always accessible.
10. Eco-Friendly Options
Many online Vietnam florists are conscious of their environmental impact and offer eco-friendly options. From sustainable sourcing practices to recyclable packaging, these florists are committed to reducing their carbon footprint. By choosing an eco-friendly florist, you can enjoy beautiful flowers while also contributing to a healthier planet.
Conclusion
Opting for an online florist in Vietnam for your next special occasion offers numerous benefits, from convenience and variety to quality and reliability. With the ability to browse, compare, and order flowers from the comfort of your home, you can ensure that your floral gifts are perfect for any event.
