’       dollar  value,  or  on  a  scale  of  one  to  ten?       ’      she  asks  him  with  a  cheeky,  bloody  tooth-stained  grin,  and  her  eyes  are  a  flash  of  wildfire.   it  amuses  her,  quite  a  question  to  ask  one  who  had  made  a  living  off  of  selling  her  own  parts  for  scraps—   she  gets  what  he  really  means,  what  would  you  do  to  live,  and  it’s...  curious.   in  the  deathgarden,  the  hunters  couldn’t  give  two  shits  about  mind  games;  they  saw  red,  they  saw  dead  scavs  through  the  scope  of  a  rifle,  and  that  was  that.   but  this,  dagger  to  her  throat,  feels  infinitely  more  intimate,  and  it’s  exhilarating.

so,  she  has  to  ask  herself,  how  much  does  she  value  it,  without  a  monetary  prize  to  be  gained?   then,  how  many  people  did  she  know  that  were  as  willing  as  she  had  been,  to  sacrifice  body  and  limbs  to  afford  the  basic  necessities  of  life?   survival  seems  innate to  her,  even  by  unconventional  means.

eyes  narrow,  and  she  searches  saki’s  face  for  a  hint  of  what  exchange  he  has  in  mind.   the  rules  in  this  world  seem  less  certain,  less  rigid.       ’       it  depends.   what’s  the  going  market  rate,  hmm?       ’
