The three thinly veiled women stood on the golden grassy hill overlooking Birmingham. The soft yellowing sunset casting a ray of light blinding the spectators below and haloing the three witches as they schemed and laid new plans. To a visitor they were just three gypsy women clad in finery mourning over a freshly dug grave.
No tears were being shed for the grave for no one laid below it. Just cold metal guns in wooden boxes. A fate choice that would start a chain reaction to the curse of the Shelby line. A choice that in the future would affect the DeGhant women’s bloodline horribly.
“ So, we're all still in agreement.” Violet asked flatly. She was the eldest at 32 and had been dealt a harsh hand in life. She had wanted to time travel to the beginning to unravel the thread. She played with time and they were all stuck now, truthfully they’d all rather be stuck together anyway but goodness knows what fate awaited them here. Uncertainty awaited them at every turn.
Three modern women, unlucky in family and love. Tied together through thick and thin. Violet sighed, waiting impatiently for an answer. All three had their own missions, secrets and strengths but they were bound by blood and magic, a triumvirate of power.
Violet’s cocoa brown hair gleamed in the sun as her royal purple colored veil slipped off her coiffed hair and onto her shoulders exposing her tired, lined and stone sober face. She was a lovely woman with a soft rounded face, violet eyes that glittered like crystals.
Violet was feminine energy, curvy, short at 5,2 and with a rounded face. Everything was earthy and natural, yet ethereal. Dark green blouses and patterned floral shifts and swished around her accentuated her childbirth giving hips. She looked like a queen of the forest.
Her soul however wasn’t as well put together at the moment. It was churned into a mess of fractures and streams at the moment. Her destiny was broken. She had a kind of tiredness that sleep can't fix. Her husband of seven years had taken their children when she was ill, “To let her rest.” four children and her husband left for a fun filled day in the car and never came back. To make matters worse the drunk driver who killed them took his own life before she could seek understanding, forgiveness or curse the wretched soul. She was truly alone in her modern life.
Her tear filled eyes rolled to Seraphina, at 26 she was a modern woman by every sense of the word. Truth be told she was the ones the eldest and youngest worried about. “Phina” as she preferred to be called, was calculated, charming and beautiful and skillful with pointed objects of all kinds. She mostly favored sewing needles and higher education. Only one was valued here in this timeline.
Her beauty was murderous causing men to fall all over themselves and seek out her company sometimes at radical costs. She had hair so black it showed blue or red highlights depending upon the lighting in the room. Her pale grey eyes, almost white, the color of the moon, her dark irises were known to pull people in like a gravitational pull. Her Ruby red lips were known for smirking in amusement more than laughter. Her face was old world, her features more carved and high then delicate like Violets or Sabrina’s.
Her mind was lethal, ever thinking, quick and sharped edged like her tongue. She was the most dangerous out of the three sisters. She would be the one most likely to kill for her family, consequences be damned. Her magic was all about sex, seduction and fire. Red and black were her soul colors.
She might be cold at times to others but loved her sisters more than anything believing they could change fate if it were the three of them. Family first at all times was her motto.
She wore a long black velvet coat down to her ankles, nipped at the waist it showed her Victorian stacked figure. Gold rings in garnet and rubies adorned her fingers and her black lace prayer shawl draped elegantly over her head framing her eyes.
“If we dont change our past, we can't have a future for the DeGhant line, even if we never go back to see fate rewritten.” Seriphna knew the plan well, after all, she’d come up with it. Violet's curse was intertwined with Shelby’s ambitions. All of their curses were, she’d just been the one with the harshest blow thus far.
The older women turned to their 23 year old sister. “Sabrina? Are you ready?” They said in unison. The blonde girl threw her head back and laughed. It was filled with joy and light.
Brina was always the first to start an adventure. She’d started life as the odd one out, a fair haired product of her mothers later affair. A happy child to an unhappy family.
Her “Father” traveled around modern day Europe oblivious to his child or her power.
Her mother long dead due to depression and yet, she pushed on, eager to create her own life and happiness.
Sabrina“Denny” DeGhant was the balm to the weary heart in the family. Her honey wheat blonde hair was tucked up like a princess, soft and billowy and a veil pinned to the back. She wore a cream veil that accented her blue and brown eyes, swirling like a galaxy. A Mixture of her otherworldly heritage.
She wore traditional Romani dresses of bold embroidery patterns and fabrics in pinks, gold and creams. Her gold pocket watch gleamed on her vest, a stolen relic of her soulmates past and future. The duke of Saxon was etched into the back, safely dangling by her ribs.
She could see and talk to spirits making her predictions far more accurate then those around her. She had a mission too. To heal a Shelby man with her tender heart and quiet the dead that so desperately sought his demise.
The sister joined hand and touched foreheads whispering good luck and thanks as they split in three opposite directions ready to stir up faith and change lives of those around them.
(what do you think about Seraphina versus Jasmine? ) I think she's a much stronger necessary character for the powerful sisterly coven.
I also needed to play with the Italians....

DeGhant Witches reboot
My story was horribly stuck and luckily I knew where it went wrong. I've done several character rewrites and cuts. I'll be posting soon on here, A03 and Wattpad. I did make it a touch darker since it's in the Peaky blinders universe. I added a darker more cunning witch sister and deepened my lore. Hopefully it helps sort out the hiccups of my OC's.
