"I don't give a shit about headlines or what might happen to me either.'" Davina didn't know all the ins and ours about the Rushman family but she hadn't been born yesterday, she knew there was more to their name and a lot more hidden than what they let on to the public. However, she really didn't care, she was in for the money so she could help her siblings and for the sum of money she was being paid, Davina would do her job. Unless Wyatt made it hard enough that she'd prefer to face whatever plan the Rushman patriarch had for her. "Now, will you willing leave out of here or will I have to drag you out like a damn toddler?" She asked, features more serious than Wyatt's as her arms rested akimbo.

“So are you.” She smiled. Words came difficult to her so when she uttered them she felt vulnerable in the best of the ways; Wyatt was indeed the best thing in her life no matter the amount of troubles it brought for them. “It’d be fucking worth it.” Davina pointed out but then let the topic go, she had had enough of Victoria to keep talking about her. One way or another, she knew she’d get her own revenge in a way that wouldn’t hurt Wyatt. “Maybe, I’ll let you know how I feel about that.” Although last thing she needed was people at the station to wonder how she could afford a new car. Turning more serious, Davina tilted her head. “You gotta find whoever’s working two sides. You managed to get away with it now but luck runs out, Wyatt. We all got a lot to loose.”
…
Wyatt smiled softly, there were no other words needed in that moment. He loved his wife, loved her more than words could say and as much as he would have loved to scream that from the rooftops it would never be possible. His family lived a high profile life but he’d always stuck by the story of his wife wanting to be out of the spotlight. It was how he could keep her safe. “Yeah I think you’d enjoy that a little bit too much.” He let out a laugh before waggling his eyebrows, looking down at Davina. “You could always just tell the guys at work you have a sugar daddy. Buys you all the nice things.” Yeah that was probably going to get him shoved. “I know, and I’m working on it. Trust me, you’ll want deniability when I do find them.”

"Vervain will do that to you," He stated. "Took you long enough. Yes, I have been on a killing spree. Of those who try and double cross me about Hope. and maybe those who get in the way. And maybe if they're just at the wrong place at the wrong time. Tell me you wouldn't be doing the same if it came to Kol," He countered.
❝ Not judging , just pointing out ... ❞ Davina corrected . ❝ Well , I'm finally free and I heard hope disappeared and you going on an all out killing spree ❞

“Well I do and you know who else does? My father.” Leaning back in his seat Wyatt smirked as though he had won something. His father always seemed to know what they were up to, of course that came from paying someone to ensure their family name never ended up in disarray. And Wyatt being dragged out of this club probably wouldn’t have looked good. “Oh no, I’m not going anywhere.” He took a sip of his whiskey, gesturing to the group that he was with. “Take a seat with me. I’m networking.” There was a clear meaning to his tone, that he didn’t want to give away exactly what he meant by networking.
Davina rubbed her temple as she was predicting she would have no choice but stay at this loud bar. Sure, she could carry on the threat she made Wyatt but she also knew she was paid to not have the man been the spotlight of bad publicity. And said man wanted to stay so she would have to stay too; she doubted he was doing networked but she didn't care about it. "I'll keep my distance. If you leave again I'll find you . Again." Davina said pointedly before moving two tables away with good view towards Wyatt, her job was to protect him and she could do it without getting any more mingled in the conversions he had. Sitting down and pretending to play with her phone and twice had to flip off flirting attempts to her.

"Davina. A judge sight for sore eyes who are not in the mood to be judged," He stood up. "What's new buttercup?"
❝ You look like shit , trent ... ❞ davina sighed as she saw the hybrid . Knowing he was hope's fiance .

"Hey, look at that. Your last two brain cells seem to work." Davina sarcastically complimented the man when he seem to back down from the outburst, patting him on the arm. It was a bit of a shame as it would have made all the trouble of chasing Wyatt down worth it but at least it turned out well for the rest of the people in the club. "I'm gonna stay here anyway, just in case you loose your head again." She grinned at the man and as fast as her lips tipped up, they returned to a serious, professional line and Davina did her best to keep her features impassive while she heard the conversation continue, Wyatt's business was not her job and the brunette kept repeating herself that. It was a good thing she was quite morally grey, not actually minding what was being said although not agreeing with it; and even if she cared, she had signed a meticulous contract about the things she heard around this family. "Ready to leave? You've had your fun already." Davina told Wyatt when they were alone for a few minutes.
“Oh but I dream,” Wyatt called after her as Davina walked away from him. He wasn’t blind and the woman was attractive, even when she was annoyed. Which might have been why he spent so much time trying to stir her up. “Oooh now that was the wrong thing to say.” He leaned forward himself at the comment about her, “See there’s only one person allowed to speak to her in that way and even I have a line.” If there weren’t so many people around he would have pulled out his own gun. Though he was at least glad that the man settled back into the spot. “Now how about we settle this stuff like gentlemen?”

"You're not that lucky daddy's boy." Davina said with a roll of eyes, trying her damn best to not let Wyattaffect her. Truth was, he was attractive and the the kind of man she'd talk yo in a bar, however, one, he was her job, and two, he was an idiot. So there was no chance she could see him with other eyes. Sitting down and asking for a beer when a waitress walked by, just for show because she didn't actually took any of it as she observed Wyatt's table. Hearing whiffs of this and that and when the man Wyatt was talking to jerked, his face contorted with anger, Davina quickly got up and was standing by Wyatt in a matter of seconds. The other man sneered a smile her way, his gaze sizing her up but mostly checking her out. "I doubt she can do more than kneeling, she's got a skinny ass but I ain't picky." Davina didn't show the disgust she felt, instead, she moved at sat on the booth next to the man. "Listen, I get it, he's annoying, but I can't let you harm him." As she spoke, she had pulled her pocket knife and pressed the sharp end on the man's thigh. "And his right, I'm very good when it comes to take people up and I make it personal when said people doubt it. I can also take on your guys that are at my 3, 5 and 6. So chill down, because I don't wanna sit next to you the rest of this meeting watching you over. What's gonna be?" She moved the blade, poking the end just enough to cut through the fabric. // @intoxfolklorex
Wyatt had pushed back against a bodyguard to no end but of course when his father set his mind to something there was no changing it. And Wyatt was the heir to everything meaning that the man had to stay as safe as he could in their world. Smirking he looked over the woman, “Promise? And then what you’ll drag me out of here and spank me?” Oh he was going to hear about that comment later, but right now Wyatt was just going to lean back and continue with his other conversations. Even if they were starting to get heated it didn’t take long for Wyatt to make it clear to the other men that he was in charge and he was going to enforce that. Though when one stood he again, smirked. “Oh I wouldn’t. See I can already take care of myself but you know who’s better at it? Her.”

There had been a time where Wyatt hadn’t believed that he was allowed to be happy with someone. Anyone he was around was either going to use him for his money or use him to get ahead in the world but Davina had always been different. She was one of the few people that he would go to the ends of the earth to protect even if he knew that she would be so overly annoyed at him for thinking that way. He knew that she could protect herself but it would never make his protective streak take a step back.
“Davina, you are the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” Of course he’d said that to her a lot, since long before he’d put a ring on it. Letting out a laugh he shook his head, “Don’t tempt me. I’m pretty sure the kick back would be bad for your shoulder– maybe we should go with a shiny new car or something instead?”
"So are you." She smiled. Words came difficult to her so when she uttered them she felt vulnerable in the best of the ways; Wyatt was indeed the best thing in her life no matter the amount of troubles it brought for them. "It'd be fucking worth it." Davina pointed out but then let the topic go, she had had enough of Victoria to keep talking about her. It was so easy for Wyatt to make promises now that he wouldn’t hate his wife one day. And it was a promise that he truly believed. His father might not have been the best man but if there was one thing that Wyatt had been able to see in him it was just how much his mother had been loved. And so maybe it had been stupid and dangerous to get involved with someone on the other side of their way of life. Would be even worse if they did decide to have children in the coming years. He’d never try to turn children against their mother but they’d have to know at some point just how hard this actually was for them.
“Something like this isn’t going to happen again if we’re smart about it.” It would take a lot of planning but Wyatt could be good at that when he wanted to be. Owning most of the media and police force also helped. “Look…. I’m sorry I said those things. I was scared and it had really hit me that I could have lost my wife last night. I don’t even know if it was the fact that it would have been my fault that hit me most, or it was knowing that as much as I want to be able to, I can’t always protect you. Not with your job. Which I love seeing how happy it makes you.” He really didn’t want to walk away from this marriage.
At Wyatt’s confession, Davina finally couldn’t hold his gaze anymore and her eyes fell to the blanket; her anger had been mainly focused on his sister and therefore hadn’t given her husband any more thought, it hadn’t crossed her mind he might have actually feel guilty about the accident given the way he received her the previous night but here he was lying the truth for her. And he was right in everything, she could have died, Wyatt wouldn’t always be able to protect her in her job. And it did make her happy, that was not to dismiss. When her career in the army ended, Davina had struggled in all kind of ways and it wasn’t until she turned to the police that she started to feel like her old self again. It wasn’t something she was ready to give up. “I don’t want to divorce you, Wyatt.” Davina said, meeting his eyes again and finding his hand with hers. “I’m sorry. I just... it was too much to deal with in less than twelve hours.” She sighed. “We’ll find a way to make things work, somehow.” Her good shoulder raised and fell. “We can start by shooting your sister. Might not solve anything but I’ll blow some steem.” Davina winked at him with a teasing smile, letting him know she was joking. A little bit.

Davina had been the first thing that Wyatt had done for himself. He’d known from a young age that it would be his job to run the family and was sure that his father would arrange some kind of alliance marriage for him. But things hadn’t gone that way, instead seeing things arranged for his sisters and Wyatt had met her. Fallen in love with everything that she was and everything that she could be. Was she the perfect idea of a wife that his father had wanted for him? Absolutely not but that hadn’t stopped him from proposing before the man had even been cold in his grave. No, he wasn’t willing to just walk away from this. “I could never hate you, Davina. And you know how easy it is for me to hate someone.”
Moving over so that he could take a seat on the edge of their bed. “We’ve worked too hard for this marriage to just walk away from it.” he wanted to offer to step back from his other job but– well that wouldn’t go well. Nothing could be left in the hands of his insane sister. “Maybe we need to get better at separating work and home.” The emphasis on work clear that he meant his side stuff. He would still talk to her about running his legal companies.
Davina wants desperately to believe his words, so far Wyatt hadn't said anything he didn't mean, he hadn't promised anything he didn't intent to fulfill, not giving her a reason to doubt him and yet there was a voice in the back of her head that yelled this one promise was too big to believe that, at point, some day, her husband wouldn't hate her. Not when they were at a crossroad, with family, jobs and loyalties surrounding them and after today, it seemed even more highlighted. No way to ignore it as she had been doing all along. Davina couldn't find the strength in her to voice those thoughts out loud, embarrassed and afraid to even have them, so instead she threw her head back against the pillows and glanced at the ceiling, remaining this way when she felt Wyatt's weight on the bed.
Yet her husband proved once again he knew her well as his statement seemed to argue against her thoughts. "And what about when something like this happens again?" Davina shook her head, speaking softly as she finally looked at Wyatt again. "When whoever missed this, does it again and I'm the one suspect of it. Again. It won't end, Wyatt. I hate to be the pessimistic here but l... I know this is your life and I know I chose you over it but I don't see how pretending that part of you doesn't exist will make thing better."
