Amióta bedaráltam a The Mist első évadát, azon gondolkozom, hogy tulajdonképpen miért is néztem meg ezt a rendkívül hitvány produktumot, az egyik elméletem szerint annyira kevés a jó horror sorozat, hogy már a rosszal is beérem, a másik szerint meg simán mazochista vagyok.

Teresa Ann Royal Brown, age 58, of Hays, died Friday, January 5, 2018 at her home. She was born May 12, 1959 in Wilkes County to Bobby Gene and Charlotte Geneva Jennings Royal. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents.
           Surviving are her husband, Freeman Brown; daughter, April Delbert and husband Jason of North Wilkesboro; brothers, Gary Royal and wife Joyce, Terry Royal and wife Tammy all of Hays; sister, Shiela Wilmoth and husband Jerry of North Wilkesboro; two grandchildren, Brea Delbert and Kyle Delbert; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
           Graveside service was  January 9,  at Pine View Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Travis Brown officiating. Memorial may be made to Pruitt Hospice, 924 Main Street, Suite 100, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.                                    Miller Funeral service is in charge of the arrangements.  
           The family would like to give a special Thank You to Morse and Louise Billings and also a special Thank You to Sophia Kilby, Breanna Ward, Ruth Ann Mathis, and Jessica Bockhorn for the loving way they cared for Teresa.

Samuel William "Bill" Dotson, Jr.  age 80
Mr. Samuel William "Bill" Dotson, Jr.  age 80 of Wilkesboro, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018 at his home.
           Funeral services were January 9,   at Reins Sturdivant Chapel with Rev. Tim Pruitt officiating. Entombment will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  
           Mr. Dotson was born May 25, 1937 in Wilkes County to Samuel William Dotson, Sr. and Omie Mae Benge Dotson. He was retired from American Drew Furniture Company where he was the Shipping and Receiving Manager. Mr. Dotson was a member of Journey of Grace Baptist Church.
           In addition to this parents, he was preceded in death by a sister; Juanita Johnson and two brothers; Earl Dotson and Jay Dotson.
           Mr. Dotson is survived by his wife; Luzetta "Ann" Elledge Dotson of the home, a daughter; Diane Dotson Shumate of Monroe, a son; Sam Dotson, III and wife Alesia of Hays, five grandchildren; Jordan Shumate, Ben Shumate, Wes Shumate, Kara Gourley and Kristan Phipps, six great grandchildren; Landon Shumate, Logan Shumate, Cole Shumate, Clyde Shumate, Elijah Gourley and Jackson Gourley, two sisters; Hazel Williard of Winston Salem and Carol Petree and husband, Mike of Winston Salem and two  brothers; Tommy Dotson of VA and Ray Dotson and wife Anne of VA.
           In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Journey of Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 248 North Wilkesboro, NC 28659 or Wake Forest Care at Home Hospice, 126  Executive Drive, Suite 110, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
Samuel Harris, 87
Mr. Samuel LeRoy Harris, 87, of Millers Creek, passed away on Friday, January 05, 2018.
           LeRoy was born Saturday, February 8, 1930 in Burke County to Ralph Otto Harris and Lula Mae Causby Harris.
           LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cathy "Vicky" Harris; brother, Ralph Norman Harris.
           LeRoy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wilhelmenia Greene Harris; sons, Robert Alan Harris (Kelly) of Wilkesboro, Barry Harris (Rebecca) of Statesville; sisters, Jane Powell of Morganton, Martha Ann Day of Myrtle Beach; brother, David "Dave" Eugene Harris of Providence Forge, Va; two grandchildren, Madison and McKenzie Harris of Statesville and two great grand children, Tanner and Shania of Statesville.  
           The funeral service was held   January 7,  at Stony Fork Baptist Church.
           Rev. Sherrill Wellborn, Rev. Phillip Woodring and Rev. Vernon Eller were officiating. Burial followed  the funeral in the church cemetery.
           Military Honors were provided by the North Carolina National Guard.
           In addition to flowers, memorial donations may be given to Stony Fork Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 128, Deep Gap, NC 28618.

 Juanita  Earp,  54
Juanita Louise Barlow Earp, age 54, of North Wilkesboro, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. She was born September 5, 1963 in Melbourne, Florida to John and Gertrude Manning Barlow. Mrs. Barlow was preceded in death by her parents.
           Surviving are her husband, Randy Gray Earp; sons, Randy Gray Earp, Jr., and Daniel Thomas Earp both of North Wilkesboro; grandchildren, Stephanie Earp of North Wilkesboro, Austin Earp of Pearland, Texas, Nathan Earp of North Wilkesboro; and brother, Bruce Barlow of Pensacola, Florida.
           Funeral service was held  January 8,  at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Alan Parsons officiating. Entombment  followed in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.                                  Flowers will be accepted.
           Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
 Jay Parsons,   90
Jay Parsons, age 90, of Wilkesboro, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Wilkes Senior Village. He was born April 7, 1927 in Wilkes County to James Walter and Annie Hutchens Parsons.
           Mr. Parsons was a World War II Navy Veteran; a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a truck driver for 39 years with Pilot-Freight Carriers. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Inza Bumgarner Parsons; his second wife, Virginia Marsh Parsons; sisters, Alma Staley and Ada Gambill.
           Surviving are his sons, Tyrone Parsons and wife Ann of Wilkesboro, Dale Parsons and wife Faye of Millers Creek; daughter, Lisa Larymore and Timothy of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren, Michael Parsons, Lauren Parsons McGlamery, Daisy Parsons Rodgers all of Wilkesboro, David Larymore and Elizabeth Larymore both of Charleston, South Carolina; sisters, Hazel Mayes and Ina Foster both of Wilkesboro.
           A private burial was held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery by Pastor Brady Hayworth officiating.
           Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
 Larry Core,  79
Larry Donald Core, age 79, of Wilkesboro, NC died at his home on January 2, 2018.
           Larry was born on November 6, 1938 in Olney, Virginia, the son of Wm. Leonard and Esther Watson Core. His father passed away at 3, and his grandparents raised him. He joined the US Air Force in 1956, leading him to Oklahoma where he married Donalee Ruth Thompson on June 13, 1959 and they shared 58 years of marriage. After a brief stint as a farmer he studied at Spartan Aeronautics in Tulsa Ok. Larry worked at Snow Hill, MD, Springfield, IL and Lawton OK. In 1968, they moved to Wilkesboro, NC, where he was the Chief of Maintenance for Holly Farms for 5 years and then Lowes Aviation for 25 years as a FAA Certified inspector.  
           Larry enjoyed boating, classic Studebakers, his family, the beach and his many friends.
           He is survived by his wife, Donalee Core of Wilkesboro, NC; his daughter, Penny Eller and her husband Leo of Wilkesboro, NC; his son, Larry Dean Core and wife Pamela of Mooresville, NC and son Victor Greg Core and wife Cindy of Wilkesboro, NC; grandchildren, Corey (Melanie), Ashlee, and Aaron (Diana) Caudill, Joshua Stone (Lacy), and Garrett (Hayley), Riley, Alyssa and Jeremy Core, Kolby Eller and eight great-grandchildren, Brandon Caudill, Hailey Caudill, Luke Caudill, Gibson Reid, Blake Caudill, Brady Caudill, Ariana Stone and Ayden Core to carry on his legacy.
           A visitation will was held Saturday,   at Goshen Baptist Church,  with   funeral service at 2pm.  
           Memorials in Larry's name can be made to Wake Forest Baptist Hospice Care, Goshen Baptist Church or Ronald McDonald House.

Ms. Brenda Joyce Vickers, age 77 of North Wilkesboro passed away Monday, January 1, 2017 at her home.
           Graveside services were  January 4, 2018 at Mountain Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Church officiating.  
           Ms. Vickers was born November 13, 1940 in Wilkes County to Hubert Garley and Sarah Blanche Brown Vickers.  She was a member of Mountain Valley Baptist Church.
           She was preceded in death by her parents.
           She is survived by one sister; Pat Eller and husband Bobby of Millers Creek, one nephew; Mark Eller and wife Rene Waters Eller, great niece; Megan Eller and great nephew; Daniel Eller
           Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Baptist Church, 1264 Mountain Valley Church Road, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.

Tony Curtis Minton, age 27, of Moravian Falls, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, December 31, 2017 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Regional Medical. He was born August 27, 1990 in Wilkes County to Tony Ralph Minton and Jane Annette Shumate Jarvis.
           Surviving are his wife, Ericka DeViney Minton; his son, Landon Curtis Minton of Moravian Falls; his father, Tony Ralph Minton of Moravian Falls; his mother, Jane Annette Shumate Jarvis of Moravian Falls; sisters, Nichole Jarvis and husband J.J. Williams of Moravian Falls, Santana Jarvis Roten of Millers Creek, Kristen Jarvis of Boomer; maternal grandmother, Sue Shumate of Moravian Falls; and nieces, LaNisha Williams, Zailey Altizer, Jada Brooke Haman.
           Funeral service was held  January 7,  at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ralph Minton officiating. Burial   followed in Mtn. Park Cemetery.      
           Flowers will be accepted.

Regina Faye "Jamie" Pettrey, age 55, of North Wilkesboro, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. She was born September 19, 1962 in Wilkes County to Barbara Greene. Ms. Pettrey was a cook at The 50's Restaurant.
           Surviving are her daughters, Pamela Hernandez and husband Jairo of Jonesville, Nilah Villasenor and husband Jose Perrusquia of Hamptonville; her mother, Barbara Greene of Wilkes County; brothers, John Greene and wife Brenda of North Wilkesboro, Ricky Greene and wife Lisa of Roaring River; sister, Marggie Howell and husband Randy of Boomer; and six grandchildren.
           Memorial service was held January 5,   at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lorne Bryant officiating. Flowers will be accepted.

   Rodney Tulbert, 58

Mr. Rodney Blake Tulbert, age 58 of Thurmond passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at his home.
           A memorial service was held  January 7,   at Bethel Baptist Church in Ronda with Pastor Steve Fowler officiating.  
           Mr. Tulbert was born December 3, 1959 in Surry County to Raymond and Vermell Byrd Tulbert.  He retired from Johnson Controls and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
           In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son; Richard Blake Tulbert.
           He is survived by one daughter; Mary Ellen Tulbert of San Diego, CA and one grandson; Ryan Blake Tulbert of Union Grove and one sister; Susan Poplin of Thurmond.
           Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to his grandson; Ryan, PO Box 236, Union Grove, NC 28689.
 Robert   Hall  40
Mr. Robert "Bob" Patrick Hall II, 40, of Wilkesboro, passed away on December 27, 2017.
           Bob was born on June 7, 1977 in Paynesville, Ohio to the late Robert Patrick Hall and Diana Lynn Ball Hall.
           Bob is preceded in death by: his parents.
           Bob is survived by: his wife, Jessica Villard Hall; daughters, Nadia Hall and Madelyn Hall; sister, Kelly Rivera and husband, Franco, of Alabama; grandmother, Lois Hall of Alabama; aunts, Norma Ball of Ohio, Linda Hitechew of Florida; nephews, Jeremiah Rivera and Caleb Rivera, both of Alabama, and beloved family member and "middle child" Sweet Caroline.
           The Hall family will conduct a memorial service at a later date.
