Great Aunt Tilde
part two to Auntie Tiger
this is where she meets, Lennie’s family.
Cause.....she met one grand niece she wants to meet the other children and Jelly
@clownsgobeepbeep
Another rocky start for her but shes positive
Tilde decided it was time to visit her nephew Lennies family. She so very much wanted to meet the wonderful being who was mated to him. Maybe she shouldn’t word it that way, he did mention he was married. Human terms it was then~. She also couldn’t wait to see the little ones.
Ooooooh it was so exciting!
She just couldn’t wait. Instead of just showing up out of the blue like she heard Cecilio had done. And like she did with Billy...she had scheduled it with Lennie. He said something about how Thyone really did a lot of damage and she was not liked... So Tilde took another precaution. She baked sugar cookies shaped like sea creatures.
Another tid bit Lennie had mentioned was the love of sea life in the household.
Tilde wasn’t donned in her clown attire, a platter of cookies in her hand. She rang the doorbell, and waited. She could hear voices inside and soon enough Lennie answered the door. He smiled upon seeing her, “Heya Aunt Tilde, come on in.” He opened the door more for her and Tilde made her way in, “It’s nice and cozy in your home.” Lennie chuckled, “Thank you” Suddenly the woman lifted up the platter she had in hand before she could be pounced upon by Mana. “Woah there yes it’s nice to meet you too Mana.” She said with a laugh while the little axolotl barked happily. Lennie was a bit surprised, “How’d you know his name? I never told you.” “Oh, well he shouted it while he was coming at me. And no Mana these cookies aren’t for you unless they say you can have one.” Tilde smiled down at the little alien as she gave it a few pats. Mana hopped off her tail wagging as he followed her where Lennie led her.
“Aunt Tilde, this is Ula and Davey.”
She smiled about to go to tears seeing the two of them, “They are so precious.” Ula seemed a little guarded and Tilde didn’t blame her. Davey seeing his sister do it followed suit but brought up two tiny baby fists. And Tilde had to hold back a laugh at that one. Lennie smiled happily seeing Jelly walk into the room, “And this is my wife Jelly.” His face said it all. Tilde smiled, he was absolutely in love with her. She could already tell Jelly was on the defense with her. But Tilde smiled, “It’s nice to finally meet you Jelly, I’m Lennie’s Aunt Tilde.”
“I assume than, you are related to....” Jelly had an eyebrow quirked and Tilde nodded with a sigh, “Yes, but I can assure you I don’t mean any of you any harm. I understand your suspicion though.” She smiled reassuringly but she could tell Jelly would still be on the defensive as sh expected. Lennie wasn’t lying when he said Thyone had done quite a bit wrong.
Lennie offered to take the platter from her before Mana who was eyeing it could jump her again. Tilde took a seat on the couch and Mana hopped up to join her. “Hey there buddy” She gave him a few pets. Ula visibly relaxed a little bit due to Mana’s friendliness with her. Jelly and Lennie sat opposite of Tilde on the loveseat. Ula and Davey sitting on the floor playing with Samhain and Kala near by. Kala due to Jellys weariness of the new woman, was also keeping an eye on her. She would not give in as soon as Mana.
It didn’t take long eventually Tilde and Lennie had started up a small conversation. When she had asked if she could hold Davey, Kala had jumped in the way defensively and barked. Tilde slowed her movements so as not to unnerve. Lennie sighed, but smiled apologetically to his aunt. “Kala, it’s alright.” Kala growled but Tilde stayed where she was and waited till Kala calmed down. Kala sat next to Davey tail wrapped around the grumpy looking baby who didn’t entirely understand the situation but he was angry about it because he could tell others were upset. So he too...Needed to be upset.
As cautious as Ula was she decided to talk to Tilde. “So...you can talk to Mana?” Tilde looked to Ula and smiled, “Of course, he’s quite an energetic one isn’t he.” Ula nodded petting him. Mana was excited, his tail wagging happily. He barked. “He really wants a cookie, but I told him its up to you.” replied Tilde. Ula looked at Mana who whimpered but stayed in place. Ula grabbed a cookie, “One cookie” Mana quickly but gently took it from Ula’s hand and gobbled it up happily. Loudly crunching upon it. Kala rolled her eyes and huffed watching his display of pretty much...table manners.
She did not approve.
Tilde smiled watching the scene. “So you can understand him, I can do that as well.” Jelly admitted a bit roughly. Tilde’s smile faltered but she quickly caught it, “That’s amazing Jelly, It’s nice to know someone else can.” She meant it when she said it, after all she wanted the family to like her. But she could tell it would take some time with Jelly. But she did not mind this, she would stay positive. After all the family had been through quite a lot due to outside forces. Jelly had her arms crossed, Kala by her feet, with Davey still near by. By this time he was just playing with some stuffed animals making them fight. She looked to Lennie who looked at her and smiled. He reached out and gave her hand a small squeeze to reassure her. He knew what she was thinking, he knew she was worried. He really did appreciate it. She gave him a hesitant smile back but her worry seemed to ease just a bit with him.
Eventually Davey was allowed to be in Tildes lap. Kala insisted on sitting next to her the entire time though to make sure. But the little baby in her lap didn’t even seem to notice as he made the stuffed animals in his hands bash into each other over and over again. Tilde smiled down at the little bundle of wrath, adorable. She chuckled, “Well I should get going, it was nice to finally meet all of you. I hope to see you more in the future.” She was about to hand Davey off to Lennie who was also next to her but Kala grabbed his pjs and carried him off. Which only served to make Lennie laugh and Tilde just grin. “Thanks for stopping by.” replied Lennie.
Tilde nodded and stood up, “wonderful meeting you Ula, Jelly.” She looked down to the little blue alien, “You as well Mana.” Mana barked happily in reply. Lennie led her to the door to see her off.
Once back he sat by Jelly and took hold of her hand again, content to sit quietly. Kala sitting while wrapped around Davey. Mana now munching on another cookie that Ula had let him have.
Things were peaceful, at last.

@grotesquegabby
After so long, I finally just finally wrote this darn fic. Sure it’s in the “past”(before any of the drama has happened), but I think it’s rather nice and a break from all the angst. uwu’
“Davey, why aren’t you ready yet?”
The sailor looked up from the book he read, turning to the doorway where he saw his mother who soon walked in.
“But I’m already ready.”
“I think you should change into something else a little more loose, who knows how much you’ll be walking and moving around.” Jelly sat next to Davey on his bed, just as he sat up to shrug.
“I don’t even know where we’ll be going mom.”
“I’m guessing it’ll probably be the carnival, or something simpler.” she shrugged before standing up and going over to his drawers to pick out some clothes. “How about this? It would go well with a jacket and the shoes Ula bought for you.”
“Well, I guess.” Davey shrugged before taking the clothes from his mother who smiled and walked out, closing the door behind her, but not before saying one last thing. “I’ll make you some lunch for now and prepare some snacks.”
“Kay, thanks mom.” Davey nodded as he now changed into the new clothes, then going to his closet to find the new shoes purchased by Ula. They were some navy blue sneakers with little white anchors, they were so great and did match with his shirt. Once done, he walked out of his room and headed towards the kitchen where he found both his sisters and mother.
“Hey there sailor.” Ula smiled at Davey who gave a wave. “You ready to go?”
“I guess.” Davey shrugged as he sat next to Cordelia who had her hands on the table under a light, then turning to Davey. “What are you doing?”
“Ula just did my nails.” Cordelia happily wiggled her fingers. “We’re gonna go out to the mall later and have some girl time! Even Penny and Phoebe are coming. Right Ula?”
“Yeah.” chuckled Ula who bit into a waffle. “Since you and Schrader and gonna be having fun all by yourselves.”
“I don’t even know where we’re going Ula.”Davey repeated before Ula gave a shrug.
“That’s even better, especially if it’s with Schrader.” she winked then looking over Cordelia’s nails. “They’re done. Now go change out of your pj’s.”
“Okay!” Cordelia jumped off her chair before dashing away from her room, Jelly turning away from the stove and placing a plate with some fish in front of Davey.
“There you go, now eat up. I don’t know how long it’ll be till Schrader takes you out to eat.”
“Thanks mom.” Davey nodded, then eating his lunch before hearing as the doorbell rang which made him raise his head.
“I’ll get it!” Ula announced before excitedly walking away, Davey hearing as the door opened and Ula’s giggles followed soon after. Once the giggling ceased, Davey saw as Ula and Schrader walked into the dining room and the sailor noticed a lipstick mark on Schrader’s cheek.
“Hey Davey, how’s it going?” he asked before Davey finished eating his meal.
“Good.”
“And how about with you Mrs. D’Vitt?”
“I’m fine, thank you Schrader.”Jelly embraced Schrader before everybody turned back to Davey. “You ready to go now Davey?”
“Hm, yeah.”
“Here are your snacks t-”
“Schrader!” exclaimed Cordelia who now ran towards said man, jumping into a tackle-hug as Schrader gave a quiet ‘oof’, still holding and hugging Cordelia.
“Hello Viking Princess, how have you been?”
“Amazing! I’m gonna have girl time with Ula and our cousins!” Cordelia excitedly shared out, then presenting her nails. “Look at what Ula did!”
“They look beautiful.”Schrader commented before kissing Cordelia’s hand, making her giggle before she was set back down. “Looks like we’ll be splitting now.”
“Ula, can’t we hang out with Schrader and Davey instead?”
“Are you saying you’d rather spend time with them than me? I’m pretty offended Cordelia.”
“No! I was just kidding!”
After some goodbyes, Davey and Schrader walked out of the house, Davey stopping in his tracks as he noticed that there was no car on the street. Instead…
“We’re going on...that?” Davey pointed at the motorcycle neatly parked as Schrader gave a nod.
“Or would you prefer to walk? I unfortunately don’t have a car, just this cycle.”
“No, this is fine…”Davey mumbled out, growing nervous the more he approached the motorcycle, then being helped on by Schrader.
“Make sure to wear your helmet.”
_____________
“That…”
“Yeah?”
“That...was pretty great.”Davey turned to Schrader, completely surprised after the motorcycle had finally stopped and was now parked. “I never thought riding a motorcycle would be so great. My mom always made it seem so scary!”
“Well, she is afraid of riding one as well as planes.”Schrader chuckled to himself before getting off the motorcycle and helping Davey once again, taking his helmet and placing it on the vehicle. “Now, you still have your backpack?”
“Yeah, it’s right here.”Davey nodded while presenting it, even looking inside to see that all his belongings were intact. “Now that we’re here...where are we?”
“Glad you asked.”Schrader smiled before leading the way towards a building that looked rather old and maybe a bit abandoned. “There’s this exhibit kind of thing that opened recently, though it’s gonna be here temporarily, so I thought I’d bring you here. It’s pretty interesting from what I’ve heard.”
“It’s not some horror, nightmare stuff, is it? Like the stuff you and Ula like, with all the slashers and knives and masks. ‘Cause this building sure looks like it. “
“Nah, it’s just a super old building.” Schrader reassured him before he opened a door that lead to a lobby where a ticket booth sat. He paid for two tickets which Davey noticed were a bit pricey, but Schrader didn’t seem to mind, then taking him to a stairway that was dark unlike the room itself. The only illumination in the stairway came from a series of small blue lights that was tucked into each side of every step. Davey followed along, eventually looking up as he started to notice tiny, twinkling lights. The more steps they went up, the more lights that appeared as if to look like a galaxy.
Soon enough, they reached a door that Schrader opened as a light now came through, or rather so many lights. Davey’s eyes widened at the strings and rows of lights that were shining beautifully, changing through several colors to create patterns and such. There was an infinite amount, or at least that is what it seemed like thanks to the mirrors surrounding everything.
“Do you like them?”Schrader turned to Davey who’s jaw slightly dropped, and he gave a soft nod while the lights even twinkled in his eyes. “Well good, ‘cause there’s a lot more ahead of us.”
“Can, can we stay in this area a bit longer?”
“Well, sure. In fact, let’s take a picture, yeah?”Davey nodded as Schrader took out his phone, snapping a few pictures before handing it over to Davey. “Take a picture of yourself but through the mirror on the floor, it’ll make a nice shot.”
Davey once again nodded, taking the phone as he attempted to take a picture. However, he waited a while to get just the right colors, until he dropped Schrader’s phone.
“Oh no!” Davey exclaimed before hurriedly picking it up and examining it, his heart dropping at the sight of a large crack on its screen. “Schrader, I’m-”
“Hey, Davey.”Schrader carefully took the phone, looking it over before smiling at the boy. “Don’t worry about it. It’s just a crack.”
“But I broke it.”
“Did you take your picture?”
“No, but-”
“I can always buy a new phone when I have enough money for one.” Schrader shrugged with a chuckle, crouching down while giving Davey the phone back. “It’s really no problem, don’t worry. I’m not angry, I won’t ever be.”
_____________
After going through another “star” filled hallway and another room filled with astronomy and physics themes, Schrader and Davey entered a dark room in which it was mostly dark, until you walked further in and looked up.
Davey’s eyes widened once again, and it sure wasn’t going to be the last time this happened, green observing what were colorful, floating planets and nebulas and more. They weren’t models nor LED lights just hanging around, but rather holograms. He reached a hand up as if to grab one and to his surprise, he actually did!
“Is this supposed to happen?”he asked Schrader who nodded, grabbing another planet which “hovered” in his hand.
“Of course. You can play around and make your own little universe.”
“Hey, where’ Jupiter?”Davey excitedly asked as he and Schrader now began searching before said planet was found. Schrader brought it down for Davey who admired it, watching as its red spots actually swirled around. “No way! Its storms are actually moving!”
“Storms?”
“Oh yeah! These two are storms with a size bigger than Earth and they spin on Jupiter’s atmosphere.”Davey explained before poking the planet, making smaller orbs appear which amazed him. “And these are its 79 moons, the highest amount of all the planets in our galaxy.”
“That’s so fascinating. Which one has the least?”
“Venus and Mercury. But also the dwarf planet Ceres. None of the three have a single moon, whilst Earth and the dwarf planets Makemake and Eris have one each. And did you know that practically every moon has a name?”
“I did not.”
“Eris’ is named Dysnomia after a Greek goddess, just like how the Romans believed in gods who were just the Greek ones, but with the names of the planets.”
“I didn’t know any of this.” Schrader smiled while lowering another planet, a rather small and cold one as its temperature was even felt. “Who’s this one named after?”
“Hades, known as Pluto by the Romans.”Davey took the little planet as he admired it. “But nobody really considers Pluto a planet anymore, it’s just a dwarf planet now. A lot of bad stuff happens to it which I guess is why it was named after Hades. Life just doesn’t go their way.”
“That sucks.”
“Yeah...oh hey look! A supernova!” Davey ran towards a star that was slowly expanding, obviously in the process of exploding. “This is what I’ll do to you if you ever hurt Ula.”
Schrader kept quiet for a moment before Davey gave a chuckle.
“I’m just kidding.”
“Ah, ha ha, got it.”
“But I’ll still get you.”
_____________
“This is the last room I think, and I think you’ll enjoy it.” Schrader stated while he and Davey walked through the second to last hallway with a galaxy inside, then opening the next door that lead them into another darkness. This one however, had normal lights above to be enough illumination to show what was below.
“Why is it all black?” Davey tilted his head before Schrader turned around to completely face Davey.
“Because this is what they call,”Schrader started before throwing himself backwards onto the ground as he slowly sunk into it. “ The Soft Black Hole.”
“We can lay down on this?” Davey asked as Schrader lifted his head to look at him properly.
“Of course, But every movement each one of makes affects the other.”
“Like this?” Davey hopped onto a spot next to Schrader which, while Davey sunk down, Schrader was lifted up, making him laugh.
“Exactly, but also this.” Schrader then rolled on over, making Davey fall onto his stomach, landing on the pillow like ground which made him laugh.
“You were pretty wrong Schrader, this room is horrible.” Davey jokes before rolling over as he went down due to Schrader’s weight.
“Hey Davey.”
“Yeah?”
“I dare you to try walking.”
Davey looked over at Schrader who had now managed to sit up, so Davey playfully scoffed before standing up. At least, he made an attempt to before his first foot sunk deep in as his knee followed.
“This is a lot harder than it looks.”
“Indeed.”
“I think..”Davey took a deep breath as he now pulled his leg out, lazily fixing himself as he was now laying down. “I think I’m just gonna lay here and take a nap.”
“You know what?” Schrader struggled to crawl over to Davey, eventually sitting and laying next to him with his hands on his chest. “Me too.”
“Sir, I’m going to have to ask you both to move away so others may share the experience.” an employee asked the pair through a speaker.
“Ah, bug off.”
“We better listen Schrader, or the next time you kiss Ula, it’ll be behind a glass window in jail.”
_____________
As the sun had now set and the skies started to grow darker, Davey sat beside a window, watching the mixture of colors. Eventually he turned to what was actually the front, having heard some plates be set down in front of him, Schrader now joining him on the opposite side of what was a booth.
“You know, I kinda get why my mom and sister like these shakes.” Dacey commented before sipping from the straw that was inserted into a milkshake made for him by Schrader. “They are pretty good. And this place is great too, especially with the music and theme.”
“Well thanks, that means a lot coming from you.”
“Really?” Davey tilted his head as he now looked at Schrader who gave a nod, sliding over Davey’s order to him.
“Yeah, sure. You’re Ula’s brother.” Schrader grabbed his own milkshake. “It’s not like Ula’s the only one I care about, you know. I even care about her best friend Ama. Everybody important to Ula, is important to me.”
Davey blinked a few times, remaining silent for a moment before looking down at his food which was still warm.
“That’s...cool.” Davey mumbled out before placing Schrader’s phone on the table. “I noticed you have a lot of pictures of Ula here.”
“Ah, you saw those?”
“Yeah, I hope you don’t mind.”
“Not at all, nothing to hide.” Schrader shrugged before drinking from his milkshake and pointing to Davey’s food. “You’re not gonna eat? You must be hungry.”
“Oh yeah.” Davey nodded before he began eating, slowly chewing his food as he kept on thinking to himself. As he took another bite from his food, he glanced over at Schrader who was looking outside the window in which it was finally the evening.
“Schrader?” Davey finally called out, having Schrader look at him before swallowing his food.
“Yeah?”
“Do you...do you really love my sister?” Davey questioned before Schrader looked at him rather surprised.
“What, do you mean?”
“Is your relationship with Ula serious?” Davey went again, seeing as Schrader placed his burger back on his plate before wiping his hands with a napkin.
“Yes, it’s pretty serious Davey, and I really do love her.” he nodded. “Why do you ask all of a sudden?”
“I just want Ula to be safe. I don’t want her being hurt, I want to protect her.”
“Oh, well, I understand.”
“I love Ula a lot and if anything were to ever happen to her, I’d...I’d be really, really upset.” Davey stated as he looked straight at Schrader, pretty serious. “So, how much do you love my sister?”
“A lot Davey. More than you could ever imagine.”
“Describe it.”
“Well,” Schrader started with a quiet chuckle. “Ula...she’s a wonderful person like no other, she’s unique even if people say she’s just like your mother. She’s got so any talents and this beautiful, adorable look. I love every single detail about her, from the tip of her high heels to the top of that little head.”
“What’s...your favorite part about her?”
“Favorite part? I’d say...it’s her voice. She sings better than an angel and a songbird, she’s so majestic when a song comes out of her lips. But honestly, her voice alone, not even singing, it’s beautiful. It’s my favorite thing to hear, and I’d die if I was never able to hear it again.”
“And...how long have you loved her for?”
“Davey, heheh...this, this is honestly gonna sound maybe...creepy if I’m being honest.”Schrader nervously laughed, but still spoke away. “Before Ula and I ever met, I already had a big crush on her.”
“Wait, what? Since when?”
“If I tell you, promise not to tell anybody?” Schrader asked before Davey nodded, so they both leaned in so Schrader could whisper. “Ever since we were about your age. Every day, I’d leave little gifts for her, even if it was a simple cookie.”
“You’re her secret admirer?” Davey’s eyes widened before Schrader gave a nod and embarrassed chuckle. Davey watched as Schrader’s cheeks turned a pinkish hue at the thought of it, and this is when Davey started to realize how things really were with Schrader.
“She still wears that ring she got a long time ago.” Davey added on.
“Yeah, I know. It’s pretty cute, but Ula still doesn’t know this. So no telling, got it?”
“Alright, sure.” Davey nodded as well before drinking from his milkshake. “But, tell me...why did you only give her gifts, but never introduce yourself?”
“I was a shy kid Davey, Ula makes me feel..really nice. Ula is the reason why I smile every day. She’s brightened my days since day one, even if she doesn’t know it.” Schrader sighed, and a bit dreamily. “Ula has had so much impact in my life like nobody knows…not only is she in my life, but all of you guys. All of you? All of this? This is the highlight of my life.”
There was a silence once again in between the two as they stared at each other, Davey feeling a tiny smile appear on his lips.
“Hey Schrader, would you ever trust me?”
“I already do.”
“But why?”
“Because I like you. You’re great, even if you’re a little salty sometimes.”Schrader joked before Davey gave a frown. “But really Davey, you’re great. Don’t ever change who you are.”
“Well, if you really like me...prove it...with a secret.”
“A secret? I just told you one.”
“But I was asking for you to prove that you love my sister.”
“Well if you put it that way…”Schrader gave a small shrug, thinking for a while before his expression turned somewhat melancholy. “There is something...it’s, pretty embarrassing. Only my brother and Dante know this.”
“Ula doesn’t?”
Schrader shook his head before looking out the window, hesitating a bit before finally speaking again.
“I’m really afraid of going into water, and I don’t know how to swim.”
“Really?”
“Yeah…”
“Well, I could...help you out with that fear.”Davey suggested as Schrader now looked at him. “But only if that’s what you would have wanted.”
Schrader gave a smile and soft nod before Davey smiled back at him, then propping up an elbow on the table with his pinky held out.
“There’s just one more thing I need you to do before we head back home later.”
“Alright, what is it?”
“You said you love Ula, a lot.”
“Yeah.”
“And that she’s practically your everything.”
“Yes.”
“And that we’re also important to you.”
“Exactly.”
“Well,” Davey started as he motioned to his pinky. “Promise me that no matter what...you will never hurt my sister.”
Schrader chuckled to himself as he brought his ar, up as well, wrapping his pinky around Davey’s with a smile.
“I promise.”

Ankle-Biter
@grotesquegabby I’ve been needing to develop some stuff and decided to write this thing for that reason as well as for fun X3 This is a tad bit long I believe, so I apologize for that
Lennie was pretty chill, having woken up a while ago after taking a nap. It was a bit of a lonely nap considering his Jelly-Bean was still at work, their youngest were in their rooms doing their own thing, and their oldest...she was at her own house. But hey, at least she would be visiting soon enough, even if it would be for a very short while.
So, Lennie sat up in bed before sliding off it to stretch and exit his and Jelly’s bedroom. Once out, he walked through the hallways where there were closed doors, one that he opened as he smiled to himself, a sad smile as he remembered nobody really slept in that room anymore. However, his thoughts were interrupted at the sound of a ringing doorbell.
“I’ll open it!” came one voice as Lennie saw another one of the doors swing open as Cordelia dashed out, the door to Davey’s room eventually following after before he peeked his head out.
“Hey dad.”
“Hey Davey.” Lennie smiled as his son stepped out of his room. “What have you been up to?”
“Not much.”Davey shrugged as he took a bite from his steamed cheesecake slice. “Have a good nap?”
“Oh yeah, it was-” They were soon interrupted when a squeal was heard, followed by a shushing sound which made Davey and Lennie look at each other again. “I’m guessing they’re here.”
“Yeup.”Davey nodded before they made their way down the hall before eventually reaching the front door where Cordelia stood in front of a pair, easily recognized as her older sister and brother-in-law.
“I thought you guys were coming in half an hour.” Lennie smiled as he and Davey approached everybody, smiling up at Ula who carried a small backpack and was dressed very nicely, looking so much like her mother.
“Hi dad.”she smiled before crouching down to hug and kiss him as Lennie returned the greeting. “ We were going to originally do that, but we have something else to do before that so I hope you don’t mind that we came earlier.”
“It’s no problem at all.”Lennie reassured her before looking behind her to see her husband who was a tad bit confused on everything that was being said. So, Lennie waved at him before Schrader, dressed very well as well, eventually waved back.
“How are you?” Lennie signed with his hands before Schrader gave him a thumbs up with a hand he removed from the infant sleeping on his shoulder. The couple soon walked in as Ula handed the backpack over to Davey who looked through it after he had been greeted as well. Meanwhile, Lennie sat down on the living room’s couch as Schrader did so next to him.
“He’s asleep.”Schrader whispered as he motioned to his son, removing him as slowly as he was careful not to wake him up to hand him over to Lennie. “Thanks for taking care of him.”
Lennie gave a small shrug as he cradled Basil in his arms as if to say ‘it’s no problem’, then feeling the boy slightly shift before Lennie felt his breath on his neck.
“Okay, so I already fed him hence why he’s asleep right now. I’d say he won’t want to eat until like, 2 hours later, that is if he wakes up. If he wakes up too late, don’t feed him.” Ula instructed to her siblings and dad who listened. “However, you could feed him a small bottle of blood that is in the backpack, but not the meat chunks, got it? But if he does wake up in time for meat, no animal meat nor milk, he’ll hate you for that. And-”
“Ula.”Lennie stopped her with a chuckle. “You don’t have to worry about anything. We’ve got this handled.”
“I know, I know but…”Ula whispered before gently ruffling Basil’s orange hair. “I just haven’t left my little pumpkin this long.”
“I know you haven’t, which is why I agree with your mom that you and Schrader have the night to yourselves.”Lennie pat the baby’s back. “You two have been working too much and deserve this night. Trust me.”
“We’ll take good care of him Ula.”Cordelia grinned with two thumbs up as Davey gave a soft nod, then looking over at Schrader who stood up.
“Is it time to go?” he asked, Ula then giving a nod before they both kissed their son goodbye and waved to their relatives. Before they left, Davey signed a ‘Treat her right, or I’ll get you’ to Schrader who playfully rolled his eyes before the sailor smiled at him and bid them a good date. Davey then turned to Lennie who looked at the baby who shifted once again, then lifting his head with a yawn that exposed all of his sharp teeth. He smacked his lips before looking around the room, realizing that he wasn’t at home.
“Hey there little guy.”Lennie cooed at him as Basil attempted to turn around as he caught sight of his aunt and uncle who soon leaned towards him.
“Hi there Basil!” Cordelia excitedly exclaimed as she poked his nose, then retracting her entire hand as she remembered what happened once he was born and handed to his mother. Luckily enough, Cordelia just avoided having her finger bitten off as Basil snapped his teeth at her.
“You know he doesn’t like that Cordie.”Davey slightly scoffed before reaching a hand under Basil’s chin, gently scratching him which made Basil’s eyes roll back as he closed them, clearly pleased with the feeling. Davey chuckled as Basil even leaned in closer to him, resting his head on his hand which made Cordelia give a small huff.
“Dad, can I hold him?” she asked as she reached her hands out, Lennie giving a laugh and shrug.
“I don’t know Cordie, he seems to want to go with Davey right now.”
“Awww…”Cordelia pouted as she watched her brother be handed their nephew who lifted his chin, Davey getting the signal to continue scratching him. “Well, I’m gonna go chat with Penny then. Call me if you need me.”
“I don’t think we will.~”Davey whispered to himself with a laugh as he continued scratching Basil’s chin.
“Alright, come here and hand him over.”Lennie reached his hands out at Davey who gave him a surprised look.
“But dad, come on.”
“Look, I’ll take care of him while you go and get his food ready. I don’t know where Cordie put my stool and I can’t reach the microwave without it.”
“Well, alright.” Davey sighed as he stopped scratching Basil’s chin, lowering him to hand him over to Lennie who happily took his grandson. He soon walked out of the living room, whispering to him as he held him close.
“Just don’t tell your mom we fed you right now, kay?”
Basil looked at him with his usual stoic eyes, only blinking in response before Lennie gave him a kiss on the forehead.
_____________
“Tell me Basil,” Lennie started as he sat on his bed with Basil sitting in front of him. “What’s a ghost’s favorite fruit?”
Basil stared at Lennie who reached into a bowl, pulling out a blueberry that he held up to Basil’s blue eye.
“Boo-berries.”Lennie snickered to himself before hearing a slight groan which made him turn to the doorway, seeing Davey who pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Come on dad, not on Basil.”
“Trust me, I know he likes these.”Lennie smiled before turning to Basil who had gotten on all fours to crawl over to the bowl, sniffing its contents. “Right Basil?”
They both saw as Basil then rolled over onto his back, stretching his limbs as much as possible before making grabby hands at the air.
“I think he wants to play.”Davey suggested as he walked towards the bed, sitting down before he revealed the toys he had brought along with him. “Which one do you want Basil? Pick your favorite.”
Davey placed each toy on the bed as Basil turned to his side to look at them, grabbing the first one he saw before biting it.
“We should get him some chew toys.”
“Don’t let Ula hear that.”
“Daaaad!” came Cordelia’s voice as she stepped into the room, gasping excitedly as she saw he baby bite and kick at the toy like a cat would. “Basil! You’re so adorable, you!”
“Did you need something?” Lennie asked before Cordelia snapped out of it, already hovering over Basil who continued to kick at the plush.
“Yeah, I need to cut the meat so where are all the knives?” she asked, resulting in Basil to stop playing with the plush as he released it from his mouth and tilted his head at the sound of the word ‘knives’. Lennie motioned for Cordelia to come close so that he could whisper to her, Basil noticing this before he kicked the toy away and attempted to crawl over towards them to listen. However, he was stopped by Davey’s hands that pulled him up and away and towards his face.
“Where are you going little guy, huh?” he asked, then feeling as Basil gave him a small punch on the jaw which made him laugh, that was hilarious. “Nice one Basil.”
Basil attempted to wiggle out of Davey’s grasp but was quite unsuccessful which in turn made him give up, then leaning backwards as he attempted to fall in that way.
“You’re gonna fall and hurt yourself, can’t have that Basil.” Davey told Basil who reached his hands out as if trying to use the air to pull himself away. Once again, he was unsuccessful.
“Alright, so you stay here.” Lennie told Cordelia before turning to Davey. “Davey, come over here and help me, would you?”
“What about Basil?”
“Cordelia will keep an eye on him.” Lennie stated which made both the siblings give a gasp, Cordelia and excited one and Davey a false yet somewhat shocked one.
“Looks like I’m gonna have to leave you now you tiny slasher.” Davey whispered to Basil who touched his face. “If she’s being too annoying, you give me a holler, okay?”
“Hey!”Cordelia frowned before she was handed her nephew, then holding him close as he flailed one of his arms around. “I would never annoy this baby, and he’s never annoyed by me, right Basil?”
Cordelia now held him in front of her, smiling at him as he only gave her a blank stare. Soon enough, Lennie and Davey went to fetch a knife to cut up the meat chunks into smaller ones, just to be safe. And just to be safe, they kept quiet so Basil would not hear where the knives were hidden away, from him.
“So now it’s you and me, Audrey. That’s a nice name your mom gave you: Basil Audrey D’Vitt Sage, yet it’s so long for a tiny baby like you.” Cordelia giggled before bringing Basil in for a hug, not realizing in the moment that he clearly was not enjoying it. That was until Cordelia felt a bite on her neck, more like a nibble however.
“Owie!” she pouted as she held Basil in front of her again, and he gave her yet another blank stare. “Guess I won’t do that again...how about, we play a game?”
Basil tilted his head as Cordelia set him down on the bed, grabbing some of the toys before making funny voices.
“Hi there Basil, my name is Mr. Smiles the Seal, and I’m Wally the Whale!” she spoke as Basil look confused if not surprised, especially since these fluffy animals were somehow talking to him. “I’m Octavious the Octopus! Oh, that’s a long name, huh?”
Basil blinked as the octopus plush approached him and he leaned back as it kissed his forehead, surprising him even more.
“And I’m Cordelia the Mermaid Ballerina!”Cordelia exclaimed as she popped her head in between the toys, making Basil lean more before falling backwards onto the bed which made Cordelia gasp, afraid that he had been hurt. “Basil!”
Basil then reached up as Cordelia picked him up, holding him in front of her again. The baby leaned in with his hands still up, making Cordelia smile as she believed he was going to hold her cheeks and kiss her face like he constantly did to his mother. However, his hands instead reached for her hair which he roughly tugged on.
“Ow!” Cordelia flinched before Basil let her go, then looking straight at her. “Basil, that actually hurt…But that’s okay, I forgive you.”
After some more staring at each other, Basil glanced down at his feet covered by his pajamas, swinging them around before he looked at Cordelia once again. And just like that, he disappeared in her hands which made her eyes widen before she gave a nervous laugh.
“Ah, I get it...you’re playing.”she smiled to herself, then giving a sigh of relief. “Hide and seek, huh?”
And so, Cordelia looked around the whole room. Under the bed, in the bathroom, behind the curtains, in the closet where she found some handcuffs for some reason, anyways. She then looked through the pillows, the plush toys, behind the door, everywhere...wow, he hid really well, and it didn’t make it any better that Basil never made a sound.
“Okay, come on Basil...you can come out now.”Cordelia whispered as she then looked outside of the bedroom, hoping he’d at least be in the hallway. But to no avail, he wasn’t anywhere in sight. Not Davey’s room, not Ula’s old room, not the bathroom, nowhere...so, Cordelia panicked before rushing over to the kitchen where she found Davey cutting up the meat for Basil to eat.
“Davey.”
“What?”he now turned to her.
“We...we have a problem.”
“Problem? Where’s Basil?”
“That’s the problem.”
“What!?”
“Shhh! I don’t want dad to know!”
“Cordelia-, how do you lose a baby? Our sister’s baby!?” Davey exclaimed as he set the knife and meat down, Cordelia giving a small shrug.
“He just...poofed! In my hands!”
“Who poofed in your hands?” Lennie asked as he walked into the kitchen, Cordelia’s eyes widening as even more panic rushed through her. “Cordelia?”
“Nobody.” Cordelia’s eyes glanced to the side as her nose crinkled and she started picking at her nails. “Just the plush I was holding earlier, it poofed away into thin air.
“Cordelia.” Lennie pressed as he noticed her obvious lying, Cordelia glancing at him for a split second before her eyes darted away once again. “Cordelia.”
“Basil! He vanished into thin air! He teleported away, I don’t know!”
“What?”Lennie’s eyes widened as Cordelia bit her lip. “We have to find him.”
“I know! Dad I’m sorry!”
“Cordie, it’s oka. Ula’s mentioned that he frequently does that.” Lennie tried to calm her down before looking over at Davey. “And trust me, your mother and I dealt with that quite often.”
“Why are you looking at me?” Davey asked before Lennie shook his head, then turning back to Cordelia.
“Just go and look for him, make sure he’s not hurt or anything.”
Davey and Cordelia nodded before they parted ways, looking through the house as Lennie headed back to his bedroom. Once there, he searched the area but found no trace of Basil, so he went out to the hallway where he found Davey and Cordelia looking in their own rooms for the baby. Lennie, rather than going back to the kitchen or living room, decided to open Ula’s old room once again.
“I already checked there dad.”Cordelia called out, but Lennie still went inside as he noticed something...something that reminded him of a pumpkin. Right on the bed that was still there, with its blankets neatly done and pillows properly fluffed, Lennie spotted a head of orange hair right next to a large plush shark.
“I think I found the little guy.” Lennie quietly said behind him before Davey and Cordelia poked their heads through the door, watching as Lennie approached the bed to circle around it when he could now clearly see Basil laying as he tightly clutched onto the plush with his claws. The baby sniffed the air before turning his head as his eyes met Lennie’s, and he smiled at the infant.
“Hey there...I see you found your mom’s stuff.” he breathed out before climbing on the bed, careful not to make Basil go away again. “Do you like sharks?”
Basil lifted his head, keeping a close eye on Lennie who sat on the opposite side of the shark, even motioning to his kids to hand him a book that was on the nearby desk. Lennie was soon handed the book that read ‘Jaws by Peter Benchley’, and he showed it to Basil to shifted to get a better look.
“Come on, I won’t do anything to you.” Lennie whispered before Basil sat up to get on all fours, going over the shark to sit beside Lennie who grabbed him to placed him in between his legs. “See? Not so bad.”
Basil reached a hand out to touch the book, a shark right on the cover.
“I’ll read it to you if you promise not to tell your grandma about this.”Lennie chuckled as Basil attempted to open the book, so Lennie did so before reading out loud. “The great fish moved silently through the night water, propelled by short sweeps of its crescent tail. The mouth was open just enough to permit a rush of water over the gills. Pretty nice, huh?”
Basil leaned back onto Lennie’s stomach, even placing his little hands on his own belly as he seemed to finally relax. Fuck, Lennie adored this kid so damn much. He leaned down and kissed the top of his orange hair before continuing to read.
“There was little other motion: an occasional correction of the apparently aimless course by the slight raising or lowering of a pectoral fin—as a bird changes direction by dipping one wing and lifting the other.” Lennie whispered to Basil who sighed, then turning to the each side where his aunt and uncle stood, handing him either his now warm crimson bottle or a smaller shark plush. These items he gratefully took as his grandpa continued reading to him.
Davey and Cordelia sat on the sides, listening to the shark tale as well, noticing how Basil hugged the shark tightly and eventually dropped his bottle, for Lennie’s soothing voice was slowly lulling him into a peaceful sleep.

Shark Week
@grotesquegabby I find Lennie being a grandpa so adorable, so I wrote this fic about some possible future with his grandson X3
That wonderful time of the year finally came through.
Shark Week.
Ah yes, and visiting the aquarium was a great way to start off the week.
“I am so excited! This week is gonna be so great!” Cordelia exclaimed as she, her brother, and her father walked down the path leading to the front entrance to the aquarium. “Mom really outdid herself this year.”
“Well that’s because of the little fact we learned some time ago.”Lennie smiled, pushing on a small stroller that was meant for dolls but instead contained a baby due to its reliable sturdiness and such. It was perfect for Lennie’s height unlike normal strollers, and it even looked normal, but smaller.
“The little guy here loves sharks so much.”Lennie added as he now looked over at Basil who was strapped in the stroller, even wearing little shades so the sun wouldn’t hurt his eyes.
Basil turned to look at Lennie who smiled at him, especially with the shark patterned overalls he wore. The baby looked around the area, pointing at what was a banner with sharks.
“We’ll see those soon enough.”
Once the family was allowed inside, Lennie turned to his kids.
“You two go on and have some fun. Me and Basil are gonna give your mom a quick visit.”
“Where do we meet up?” Davey asked before his sister tugged on his arm, excitedly jumping around.
“Davey! Let’s go to the seal show! It’s about to start!”
“I’ll meet you there then.” Lennie chuckled before Cordelia booked it, not even waiting for Davey who gave a small groan and walked after her. Meanwhile, Lennie walked the opposite way and away from the crowd where there was a room labeled ‘Employees Only’, but he was of course allowed to roam wherever he wished.
_____________
“How are the numbers for guest satisfaction at the moment?”
“Quite high, the surveys we received prove that guests are greatly enjoying the aquarium even more than usual, and the same goes for your park and pier.”
“Fin-tastic, as my husband says.” Jelly giggled to herself as she looked outside the large glass of her office that worked as a window, looking over the aquarium filled with guests. “And how are all the children? They’re not scared of the sharks, correct?”
“Of course not. They have in fact even asked to pet said sharks, but we have not allowed that to happen on those not in the touch tanks of course.”
“Splendid. I think that’s all I’ll need for now.” Jelly waved a hand behind her at her employee. “I’ll call you if I need you.”
“Yes Mrs. D’Vitt. There is one more thing however.”
“What?”
“You have some visitors.”
Jelly turned around as the office’s door opened, feeling a large and surprised smile come across her features at who she now saw.
“Oh, Lennie! You brought Basil!” she excitedly ran around her desk and towards her husband who now stood next to the stroller, smiling as Jelly kissed his lips before going over to Basil. “Hello my little great white shark! Our outfits are matching today!”
Jelly took Basil out of the stroller before he clung onto her, putting his head on her shoulder as they hugged.
“I am so happy you two could come by.”
“Actually, Davey and Cordelia are here too.”
“Where?”
“They said they were going to the seal show.” Lennie chuckled as he followed Jelly to the glass she originally stood in front of, both looking at where they spotted their kids in the front row of the show. It was obvious because of Cordelia’s bouncing around.
“And are you taking Basil to see the sharks?” Jelly asked as Basil now pulled himself away.
“Of course, but I’m saving the best for last.”
“Are you excited to see all the sharks Basil?” Jelly giggled as Basil nodded his head, and she reached up to grab his pacifier to carefully pull it out. “Let Mama Jelly see those big shark teeth!”
Basil opened his mouth as he showed his teeth which no doubt looked like a shark’s, and he even grit them as if to bite the air.
“Oh! So ferocious!” Jelly exclaimed before reaching over to her desk where a glass bowl was, then holding up a gummy shark that Basil took, biting into it rather happily, even if his face didn’t show it. “Alright, time to go back with grandpa.”
Lennie smiled as he took Basil who held onto him while still chewing on his gummy.
“Once you’re done with everything, or just whenever you want, head on over to the Shark Reef and get whatever souvenirs you want. And get the best shark plush for Basil.” Jelly gently pinched the baby’s cheek. “You can’t miss it, you’ll walk into a giant shark mouth.”
“Got it, any food recommendations?”
“Right by the Shark Reef, just call me over so I can give Basil some food that he’ll like.”
“Okay. I’ll sea you around Jelly-Bean.”
“Yeah yeah, see you around Sharky.” Jelly playfully rolled her eyes, then waving at Basil who gave her a tiny wave. “And you too Basil.~”
_____________
“How was the show?” Lennie asked as he got to the seal area where guests were already walking away, except for Davey and Cordelia who approached him.
“It was so great dad! I got to pet Silver!”
“That’s because you made him come over to you.”Davey stared at his sister who shrugged and flipped her hair.
“Animals just love me a lot.” she scoffed before looking at Basil and crouching down to be closer. “How are you doing Basil?”
The baby looked up at her as he bit into a shark shaped cookie Lennie had gotten from the shop mentioned by Jelly, then offering it to Cordelia who giggled.
“Why, thank you Basil!” she grinned, then pretending to take a bite out of the cookie which Basil then continued eating.
“Where are we off to next dad?”
“Why don’t we stay here and look at the seals through the glass? I think Basil should see every animal here.” Lennie suggested before his kids nodded, then following behind him as they headed to the large tank containing said animals. Once there, they stood in front of the glass where there were seals swimming and playing around, eventually noticing the family. Cordelia ran to one side as the seal followed her, and then to another, repeating herself a few times before Davey calmed her down and the seal took notice of Basil. It swam over to be in front of him, Basil placing a hand on the glass as Lennie had already taken him out of his stroller.
“This is a harbor seal, or called phoca vitulina by scientists.”Lennie told Basil who attentively watched the seal who spun in place to entertain him. “They’re kind of related to dogs and bears, isn’t that funny? And their big eyes help them see in the dark.”
Basil brought his hands away from Lennie, bringing them in front to clap the back of his hands a few times.
“Your mom’s been teaching you how to sign for animals, huh?” Lennie chuckled before Basil looked back at the seal, making the motion again as the seal flipped around, making Basil bounce in Lennie’s arms quite happily.
“Let’s go over to the beluga whales next!” Cordelia exclaimed before once again running off, Davey sighing as he took the strolled and walked besides Lennie who still carried Basil as the seal attempted to follow them. When the seal could no longer follow, Basil waved at it as the seal practically waved with its tail.
They soon reached what was the darkened area belonging to the beluga whales, all swimming and even joking around with guests, especially scaring children(and adults) by opening their mouths in surprise.
Cordelia was pressed against the glass as a beluga swam by, then turning to her unexpectedly which made her jump back with a laugh.
“It got me!”
“Let’s see what Basil thinks about the belugas.”Davey chuckled as he took the baby while Lennie hesitated.
“Davey, I don’t want him getting scared.”
“Don’t worry dad, he’ll be fine.”Davey insisted as he held Basil up in front of the glass, everybody watching as a beluga whale swam by. When it was at a close range, it turned to Basil with an open mouth in an attempt to scare him, but Basil didn’t flinch one bit. Instead, he flashed his teeth at the beluga who immediately swam away in fear. The other belugas noticed this, swimming far from the glass as well before Davey brought Basil back down.
“Maybe we should go check out the sea otters instead?”
_____________
“Now these I think you’ll like Basil. They’re one of your grandma’s favorite creatures.” Lennie presented a tank to Basil after they had already gone through a series of other animals, even witnessing as Cordelia tried to take an octopus with her. She and Davey had decided to take a break and go eat something, leaving Lennie and Basil alone.
“Jellyfish, kind of like your Mama Jelly’s Squishies.”
Basil’s eyes looked over the floating creatures, all going with the gentle and soft flow of the water they were in. He lifted a hand and made a pulling-like motion, signing ‘jellyfish’.
“Exactly. There are so many types of jellyfish, your Mama Jelly’s favorites being the moon jellyfish. These guys right here.” Lennie pointed to one. “They’re all invertebrates and these ones specifically are so harmless despite being able to sting. They’re fun to watch under lights because they’re clear. If they were to eat brine shrimp, they’d turn orange!”
Basil pointed to his hair as if to ask like his, despite the locks currently being black like his father’s human self.
“Yeah, just like your hair. But they look lavender or pink when they eat crustaceans, always looking a different color depending on the setting. Like here they’re blue. And speaking of colorful, look at this one.” Lennie presented to Basil as a new tank was shown, revealing a red jellyfish. “That’s the bloodybelly comb jelly.”
Basil soon perked up at the sound of the word ‘bloody’, making Lennie give a laugh.
“They just look a little like blood, but they have a nice little glow effect, this being because of the cilia they have which diffracts light. Because of this, they propel through the water, it almost reminds me of a beating heart.” Lennie told Basil who held up a hand, a glow emitting from his palm which was pretty surprising. “Whoa, that’s...pretty nice.”
Basil nodded before Lennie walked on over to another tank.
“This one reminds me of your mom, it’s called Flower Hat Jelly.” Lennie turned to Basil who shut his eyes for a few seconds, then opening them, but quite drowsily. “Aw, are you starting to get tired?”
Basil gave another nod before rubbing one of his eyes, then laying his head on Lennie’s shoulder while hugging him.
“Well, I guess we should go home now, huh?” he pat Basil’s back as he headed away from the tanks and into a place with a lot more light. “Guess you won’t see the sharks then.”
Immediately, Basil lifted his head and was now wide awake as he looked around, realizing that the floor was moving through a large, clear, glass tunnel. His eyes widened at the sight of a large figure swimming over them.
“That’s a pretty funny head. Goes great with nails.” Lennie laughed to himself as Basil started to excitedly bounce in his arms again, pointing to the hammerhead shark. “That’s the scalloped hammerhead shark, relative of the oceanic whitetip, tiger and bull shark.”
“Oooh dad! Give me Basil!” exclaimed Cordelia as she now ran towards Lennie, Davey eventually coming along while they watched the large shark in awe. Lennie handed the baby over to his aunt, and she held him high with his face up, Basil reaching towards the glass, making it seem like he was touching the shark’s belly. Basil was simply amazed.
“Come on guys, onto the next room. Basil’s gonna lose it over this one.”Lennie motioned as the baby was lowered down and held against Cordelia’s chest who he accidentally dug his claws into due to this new excitement he felt.
“Look over there Basil, the kelp forest.” Davey pointed at an insanely huge tank containing kelp and a plethora of fishes swimming around. “There’s some sharks in there too. Lots of them.”
Basil’s eyes followed what shimmered brightly under the sun’s rays, it was like hundreds of silver lining rapidly moving to one side and then the other quite gracefully. But soon, his eyes landed on a face, staring into the open as he saw set on the ground near the glass.
“That’s a horn shark, they like to stay in caves or just be in the shadows in general. They prefer to crawl because they don’t swim too good.” Lennie shared out to Basil who got on all fours, then crawling over to what was considered closer to the shark’s location, then pressing his face against the glass.
“Basil be careful.” Davey laughed before pulling the baby away, lifting his chin so he could look up before his different colored eyes widened. “Look at that shark, it’s a leopard shark.”
Basil clapped his hands at the sight of the shark who swam right by him, Davey helping him onto his feet as he now had his hands on the glass. He gently tapped the glass with his hands as he looked at Lennie who was sitting down, but he scooted over towards him.
“They’re pretty nice.”Lennie nodded as he looked at the sharks as well, but he soon looked up at the ceiling when somebody spoke over the speakers. He smiled once they were done talking, Basil noticing this, but he didn’t understand why, especially because he didn’t understand what was even said.
“Come on, I’ll show you something even better.” Lennie picked Basil up as he wiggled his legs around, then holding onto Lennie while Cordelia and Davey walked behind him. “No other aquarium or sea center has this because they don’t know how to properly take care of one. But your grandma, she’s a very smart woman, and of course has a few tricks up her sleeve.”
Basil blinked at Lennie, then turning to his uncle and aunt in confusion. He looked up ahead where very many others rushed to go, before Lennie approached an employee who allowed the family to be seated in the front row. The baby was placed on a seat between Lennie and Davey who looked at him excitedly, the sunlight going through the water to create a blue atmosphere.
Once again, a voice spoke over a speaker while Basil looked around at excited and extremely nervous expressions, then turning back to the glass near him and his family. Lennie reached over to grab Basil’s hand, smiling down at him before he as well looked at the glass. Soon enough, Basil could not believe his eyes.
A.Great. White. Shark.
The giant fish swam across the glass as Basil reached his little hands out to it, practically in love at the sight. He didn’t hear as the speaker boomed with somebody’s voice again, only focusing on the shark who swam away and then back, this time heading straight for the glass. People were no doubt terrified at this sight, but Basil watched in wonderment as the shark looked straight at him.
_____________
Davey carried Basil as everybody now exited the seating area to view the great white shark, and he noticed how bounced like he had never seen before.
“Somebody clearly liked that.”Lennie commented before grabbing one of Basil’s sneakers in attempt to calm him down, the baby then looking down at him. “How about we go touch some sharks now?”
Basil froze at the sound of that, trying to wiggle himself out of Davey’s arms immediately after.
“Okay, okay, relax. Give him to me.” Lennie laughed before Davey handed him the baby who was still so excited. They finally reached the area where all the touch tanks were, and Lennie approached the shortest one before he let Basil take a look.
Meanwhile, Cordelia was already reaching into a much larger tank and taking out the sea stars and urchins while Davey told her to put them back.
“Look at these right here. They’re not gonna bite you, so you can touch them.” Lennie whispered to Basil who finally relaxed, slowly reaching a hand out to one of the sharks that swam close by. He felt a shiver as his fingers and then hand were submerged in the cold water, then feeling his eyes widen when his fingers grazed against the shark’s fin.
“That’s it, just like that.”Lennie chuckled while rolling up Basil’s sleeve, allowing him to reach further into the water to now touch the shark’s back. Basil let out an out of character sound which made Lennie give a surprised laugh, so glad at how joyful his grandson was. He was so precious.
“Look, another one’s coming!” Lennie exclaimed as Basil got ready to touch the next shark, or at least that was what Lennie thought.
“How’s he holding up dad-” Davey started before his and Cordelia’s eyes widened in complete shock, seeing as there was now a shark out of the tank and in Basil’s arms.
“Basil!” Lennie gasped before Cordelia gave a squeal, Davey then laughing loudly once his bewilderment was gone. “Basil noooo.”
Lennie chuckled to himself upon realizing that Basil had managed to pull out the shark out of the water, hugging it close to his chest while it attempted to wiggle away. As Davey continued laughing, Lennie shook his head before carefully taking the shark from Basil, then returning it to the water where it instantly swam away.
Basil gave a whine as the shark was now taken away from him and he was brought away from the tank, his aunt and uncle still laughing and wiping tears away from their eyes.
“Guys, come on. It’s over.” Lennie quietly laughed to himself as Basil now had his typical stoic expression. “Let’s go to the shop. There’s something I need to get.”
__________
When arriving to “Shark Reef”, Davey and Cordelia parted ways with themselves and Lennie to look at the several souvenirs provided. Meanwhile, Davey headed over to a large wall with a giant surfboard design. Basil turned to look at it, surprised at all th sharks he saw.
“Choose whichever one you want.” Lennie told him, Basil looking over every plush toy, then pointing to one. His grandpa chuckled to himself, grabbing the plush toy which was of course a great white shark. He handed it over to Basil who immediately hugged it tightly for a while. Once “finished”, he turned to look over at Lennie before hugging him tightly as well.
Lennie smiled to himself before hugging the little baby back, hearing the pop of a pacifier going out of Basil’s mouth, and then something else.
“Grandpa.”

Finding Nemo
@grotesquegabby Just something I felt like writing heheh X3
Considering how his wife had been acting and feeling, Lennie had suggested to Jelly that a quick vacation was needed. Neither of them wanted to do much honestly, and peace and quiet was very much preferred, so Jelly made a somewhat strange suggestion. Well, it was more of a surprise than suggestion.
“So, where is it that we’re going?” Lennie asked as he walked next to Jelly scanning the area they were in which was a dark cave that had drops of water sounding all around. He carried Davey who was for once not sleeping but rather looking around quite curiously. Ula and Mana walked on Lennie’s either side, the little girl carrying a basket filled with things for a picnic while Jelly held onto a bucket containing something that sloshed with every step.
“I told you, it’s a surprise.” Jelly replied as she continued walking, now smiling as she noticed that in the distance was a glimmer caused by light shining on what was obviously water. “Look over there.”
Lennie squinted his eyes as he noticed the sight as well, nodding as he turned back to Jelly.
“A secret beach?”
“Not, exactly.”Jelly shrugged. “It’s kind of, but not exactly. Sure it’s secret and I’ve made sure that nobody else finds this place, but it’s inside a cave and all...I don’t know the name for it. Besides, that isn’t really why we’re here.”
“Oh? And why are we here?” Lennie smiled up at Jelly who returned the smile down at him.
“We’re just visiting a friend.” Jelly admitted before looking back to the front, the family now reaching the glimmering water that looked so beautiful with rays of sunshine hitting it. Ula set down the basket and pulled out a large cloth from it, then placing it on the cold ground so that everybody could sit. Lennie sat down as Mana rushed over to sit beside him, and Davey was placed down before he rolled onto his belly.
“What’s your mom up to?” Lennie whispered to Ula as she now sat next to him, having Mana lay his head on her so that she could pet him. They looked over at Jelly who stood right at the edge of the water with the bucket, and she kneeled down to throw its contents into it. Lennie looked over and noticed that they were all red, meaning that it was blood and a few human remains.
“Seriously, what is going on?” he whispered again as Ula replied with a giggle and shrug.
“You’ll have to wait to find out.~”
They looked at Jelly again who whistled a tune which resulted in a slight trembling in the cave, water droplets landing on everybody before a dark figure was seen beneath the water. Lennie stood up and was now next to Jelly, peeking into the clear water as something approached them, eventually breaking through the water’s surface. His eyes widened as he watched a tendril appear from underwater, and it hovered over him and Jelly as she gave an excited laugh, reaching out to it.
“Hello baby!”
“Baby?”
“Oh yes Lennie, before I met you, this was my first baby.”Jelly coddled the large tendril that gently wrapped around her body, and she kissed it before rubbing her cheek on it. “Lennie, this is Nemo, my kraken.”
“K...kraken?” Lennie asked in bewilderment as Jelly nodded, petting the tendril that affectionately touched her cheek with its end as Mana barked behind them.
“Mana, no!” Ula exclaimed while attempting to settle him down. “Nemo is a friend!”
As Mana continued, Lennie admired the tendril that was then followed by a few more as he looked into the water again, never seeing an end to them.
“Nemo, this is my mate Lennie.” Jelly introduced before a tendril approached Lennie as a low grumble was heard from the water. “And over here is our baby Davey, you remember him, right?”
“You’ve brought Davey here before?” Lennie asked as he pet the tendril before him, seeing how another was being introduced to Mana by Ula.
“When I was pregnant with him.”Jelly grabbed Davey after the kraken had now released her, and the tentacle’s tip softly touched Davey’s face which made him squeal with laughter. “Meet Nemo, Davey.”
The baby reached out to touch the tentacle and Jelly let him go as he started to crawl onto it, the kraken lowering its tendril to the ground so that Davey would not be hurt if he were to fall. Jelly looked back at her hubby and saw that he was still quite amazed with the kraken that caressed his face in curiosity.
“How long have you know this, er, guy?”
“To be specific, I can tell you that I came across Nemo after my break up with James.” Jelly shrugged before grinning at the sight of Davey on the giant tentacle. “Me and Nemo have gone through so much together, but my visits have unfortunately become less. I need to visit more often.”
“Well, I am glad you brought us here.” Lennie smiled as he gave a laugh since the kraken slightly tickled his neck. “Are you a cuddly one, huh Nemo?”
“Nemo.”
“Yes Davey, Nemo-” Lennie stopped himself from talking as his eyes widened, and he turned his attention to Jelly who had reacted in the same way. They then turned to Davey who lay on his back with the tendril above him, and he reached out to him with a giggle before:
“Nemo!” he giggled out, even making Ula and Mana run over to her as he once again spoke out. “Nemo! Nemo! Nemo!”
“Nemo!” Jelly exclaimed before rushing over to him, practically throwing herself onto the ground as Lennie also watched in anticipation.
“Neeemo!” Davey repeated as his parents and sister smiled widely at him. “W...w…”
“He’s saying more!” Ula gasped as she sat next to him and leaned in close.
“Wh...wh...where...Nemo.” Davey mumbled out which made Jelly squeal herself while Lennie picked him up to hug him in excitement.
“Oh my little Guppy.” Jelly bit her lip as she hugged Lennie and their children, Davey pointing up at the tentacle that now affectionately wrapped around them, even Mana joining in the embrace as he licked Ula’s face.
“Nemo…”Davey whispered before burying his face into Lennie’s chest, his father hugging him tightly yet carefully as he felt a strong sense of joy.
“Nemo...”

Big Brother
@grotesquegabby
I got an idea to write something quick after I asked you those questions last time X3 It's a little bad but oh heck, might as well post it
There was the music again.
It had grown to be annoying. Very annoying.
Once it was 3:45 pm, there was certain music, especially a single songs, that was played until 10 at night.
It always played from a certain room, one that had a golden doorknob with a face on its door. Sometimes, if you leaned close and pressed your ear onto the door, the muffled sound of sobbing, maybe even talking that nobody could comprehend.
Despite the patience he had, Davey had finally hit his limit.
There was a name he sometimes did hear in between the incoherent mumbling, and it practically made his blood boil in his little body every time it was spoken.
Schrader.
Sometimes, it was his mother who said it. Sometimes it was his father. Sometimes it was his younger sister Cordelia. But usually, it was his older sister Ula.
Schrader this, Schrader that, Schrader, Schrader, blah, blah, blah. He initially had hated the sound of that name, but then grew used to it after a while. He actually didn't...mind it, much. But then there was that one fateful day the other week which lead to another, which lead to Ula locking herself in her room to only come out for a few things.
Just like right now.
Davey had been in his room, back home from his private lessons. Mom had gotten some ear plugs for him since he had gotten a bit irritated by Ula's constant playing of her sad, romantic songs from the 1950's. Despite wearing the plugs, he heard the sound of a door unlocking and opening before footsteps followed. Davey placed a bookmark into his book before gently setting it down on his bed before climbing off his bed. He walked towards his door and ever so slowly opened it as he was careful not to make a sound.
Davey peeked through the crack and noticed a short figure that was lazily dragging itself, or more like a huge axolotl blanket, through the hallway and most likely into the kitchen. Behind that was an actual axolotl, an alien one at least, slowly following after the figure while trying to rub its head against its leg. "Poor Mana."Davey whispered, then opening his door as quietly as possible to go after them, trailing behind the pair who now stood in the kitchen. He peeked once again and heard glass clinking, things shifting and rustling, and he saw a small bucket of peanut butter ice cream be pulled out of the freezer as well as a frozen fish. The fish was lowered down and Mana stared at it for a moment, but he then took it for he could tell that not eating it would make the person sadder.
Mana ate the fish before following after the person again, so Davey quickly going into a room to avoid being seen by who was the probably exhausted, slouched over, figure that was his older sister. Davey's eyes squinted as he continued watching her, surprisingly not being seen by Mana who now entered into Ula's room along with her. The little boy then sneaked his way down the hallway where he stepped on some spilt ice cream which made him shake his head before continuing on his way, then reaching the golden doorknob with a face.
Davey noticed that the door was slightly open and so he once again peeked through, squinting his eyes as the bothersome music sounded very much closer. Nonetheless, Davey's eyes landed on Ula's bed where she was, now laying as she was still wearing her large blanket and she held her bucket of ice cream on her chest. Next to her was Mana with his head down as he worriedly and sadly stared at her. Besides the music playing, everything was technically silent until…
...there was a creak.
And then a thump, for Davey now found himself on the floor of his older sister's room.
The boy lifted his head and his green eyes met other green ones which made his cheeks flush a bit, so he quickly got onto his feet as the music finally stopped.
"Ula, I-I was just walking and-"
"No excuses."
Davey closed his mouth and stared at Ula in surprise, especially since he didn't remember the last time he heard Ula say something to him.
"Well, um...well, mom...."
"Mom's at work."
"I know, but-"
"And I know she didn't call. I didn't hear the house phone ring."
"Right."Davey nodded, now looking down in a bit of shame before glancing up once more, noticing that Ula was still staring at him. "Ula?"
"Yeah?" "Are you...okay?"
Ula's eyes turned down to look at her half eaten ice cream, and then her eyes landed on Mana who put his head on her lap. She glanced back at Davey who now stood at the end of herbed.
"I'm fine."
Davey's eyes slightly furrowed as his hands clenched up into fists. He was honestly just so angry. Angry at that kangaroo boy for betraying him, but especially his sister. He was the reason she was like this. But he was also so angry at her. Angry that Ula...didn't want to let go of Schrader, or help herself.
"No. No you're not."
"Davey-"
"Ula you need to stop."Davey sternly stated, nearly demanding as Ula's droopy eyes now widened. Davey noticed this, and unclenched his fists and relaxed before his gaze softened.
"Ula...I'm worried about you."Davey whispered as he lowered his head, but he still looked up at Ula before she gave a deep sigh. "I want to help you. I don't like how...how sad you are." She set her ice cream down on her nightstand before petting Mana's head which made his tail wag a bit, and she looked back at Davey as she opened her blanket.
"Come here then."Ula replied, and Davey removed his slippers before eagerly climbing onto her bed and towards her. Davey slipped in between her and Mana and was soon wrapped up in Ula's blanket as she held him against her chest, just like their mother. Davey peered up at Ula who then looked down at him.
"Ula?"
"Yes?"
"What would make you happy?"
Ula's eyes darted away for a moment, obviously in some hesitation, but her eyes met up with Davey's again.
"I don't know. You have anything in mind for me?"
"Whatever you want."
"No, whatever you want." "Nah, anything you have in mind is fine."
Davey squinted his eyes as one of his hands slithered up to tap his chin, and he snapped his fingers, for his genius mind now conjured up something.
"What if I read you your favorite book?" he asked, so Ula gave a small shrug and, despite it being barely noticeable, Davey saw her smile at him. Davey slipped out of his sister's grasp before he got off of Ula's bed and landed on the ground, or more like something that gave a loud squeak and made Mana instantly lift his head.
Davey looked down and looked at what his foot was on, finding Mana's toy crab. He reached down to grab it, then squeaking it which made Mana get on all six of his limbs, leaning down with his hind in the air and tail wagging. His eyes had soon dilated as they followed Davey's hand which moved the crab around in the air, eventually throwing it which made Mana dash off Ula's bed and out of the room which made her give a giggle.
Davey looked back at her and he smiled, because finally his sister was feeling better, and it wasn't the music doing it, but him!
"Maybe after this, we could even draw some stuff. Like, from Alice in Wonderland if you want."
"Okay."
"Or maybe some sharks, or krakens, or axolotls."
"Sure, sounds good."
Soon enough, Davey grabbed Ula's favorite book from her bookshelf which was right next to her axolotl tank, and he climbed back onto her bed as Mana ran back inside the room and jumped onto the bed. Davey snuggled against Ula as she fixed herself and watched him, Mana laying on her lap as he chewed on the squeaky crab. Davey opened the little book and cleared his throat, then reading the words aloud as Ula smiled at it and he made sure she was smiling.
She had the best little brother anybody could ever ask for.

❝ I thought I’d seen a ghost. ❞
Mmmmm
Some Garden Bud finally uwu
@grodygabe ‘Cause Cordie is kind of in this
“Hi Auntie!”
“Hello Phoebe.” Jelly grinned as she looked down at the little moth that jumped around, the only thing holding her down being the hand that held onto hers.
“Do you like my new shirt?” Phoebe motioned to the blouse she was wearing, a Sailor Moon design present on it. “My papa Peri bought it for me when we went to the mall yesterday!”
“It’s so pretty Phoebe!” Jelly exclaimed before turning her attention to her father beside her. “Your daddies must be jealous they don’t have such an awesome shirt.”
“I know they are, that’s why I don’t rub it in their faces.” Phoebe giggled as she looked up at her father.
“Come in, come in. I was just working on some lunch for everyone.” Jelly moved out of the doorway to her home. “How have you been Vespers?”
“I’ve been just dandy.” Vespers grinned as he walked into the house with Phoebe, seeing Jelly close the door behind them before they were all led to the living room. “Not much to report other than Cosmos and I spent the day together since it was his day off. My dad took Phoebe to the mall while the boys spent some time with Cuckoo and Calliope’s kids.”
“That sounds like a really nice day.” Jelly picked up some toys that had been scattered around the living room floor, some being some tiny boots that were clearly dirty. “Phoebe, do you want to stay with me and your dad, or would you like to go play with Cordie?”
“She’s home?” Phoebe’s eyes lit up.
“Yes she is, so is Davey but my sleepy little sailor is taking a nap.” Jelly ruffled Phoebe’s hair, then motioning to the hallway. “You remember where her room is, right?”
“Yeah!” Phoebe nodded before speeding away, leaving Vespers and Jelly alone to talk.
“So,” Jelly clasped her hands together. “Shall we go to the kitchen?”
“Sounds good.” Vespers nodded before following behind Jelly, taking a seat on one of the stools in front of the counter that Jelly resumed working on the lunch she had planned out. “So how’s the park coming along?”
“Well,” Jelly gave a breathy laugh as she reached over to grab a bowl filled with pieces of meat that she placed on her cutting board one at a time. “ A good portion of the park was destroyed, thankfully not more than fifty percent. The Kingdom took the most damage….it’s all coming together again.”
“That’s somewhat good news.”
“Yes...we should be opening again some time in the summer.” Jelly cut into the small pieces. “At least I have the aquarium and the pier up and running, so the money was made up with that business.”
“The aquarium is fantastic, Phoebe and the boys are still amazed at the Great White.” Vespers gave a chuckle. “I thought no aquarium could hold a Great White.”
“It’s not illegal or not allowed,” Jelly glanced up at Vespers with a tiny smirk. “Nobody is able to keep one alive.”
“No one except you.” Vespers gave another chuckle as Jelly gave a smug shrug, continuing to cut the meat. “Is that fish?”
“Clams. I hope you don’t mind, but Cordelia wanted some clam chowder and that’s what I’m making.”
“Your chowder’s always good so I don’t mind.” Vespers watched the tiny pieces be scoot to the side with the knife. “Should have guessed you make it all from scratch.”
“My chowder is made from the freshest clams Vesp. These are my latest catch.”
“Yummy.” Vespers commented before turning his head to the side, having heard some footsteps. “I hope the girls are making such a ruckus.”
“It’s Phoebe and Cordelia, I wouldn’t be very surprised if they went to the moon right now.” Jelly gave a laugh, keeping her attention on the clams she was chopping before other ingredients followed.
“True.” Vespers looked back at Jelly, but immediately whipped around again at the sound of more footsteps. That was when he felt a jolt of fear spread through him. Well, it was really just a slight scare as he spotted something new at the end of the hall that he had been checking on.
“God, you scared the hell out of me.”
“Did I?”
Now Jelly turned her attention to the same spot, blinking in curiosity before she too noticed the new figure.
“Oh, hi Bud.” she greeted before her cooking continued once more. “It’s not the first time he’s spooked somebody. One time I woke up in the middle of the night and saw him down the hallway. I thought I’d seen a ghost.”
“People never tell me that I’m scary, but I’m glad you think that.” smiled the newcomer that stepped towards Vespers’ location, looking up at him with a smile filled with pride.
“Good afternoon...Garden Bud.” Vespers blinked down at the doll, watching him as he locked eyes. The doll did not look away, looking deep into his own eyes for a while that made a slight shiver run down Vespers’ spine. Eventually, Bud turned his glass eyes away with a blink before he walked around the counter to where Jelly was.
“Where’s Ula?” Jelly slightly eyed him as he made his way over to the fridge, looking up at the fridge handles that he could not reach.
“Can you give me a hand?”
“Why don’t you eat from your own fridge?”
“I don’t have any strawberries.”
“Well maybe if you didn’t eat them all at once you’d have a lot more.”
“He has his own fridge?” Vespers blinked in surprise before Jelly gave him a look.
“Ula got him one of those mini fridges and she has it in her room next to the small bed she got him.”
“Of course.” Vespers’ eyes fell on the doll whose own eyes were trailing up and down Jelly’s figure from behind. “I think you have a little, uh…”
Jelly looked up at Vespers before turning around, immediately frowning at the sight.
“Do you want me to bring out Godzilla?”
Garden Bud instantly looked up at Jelly with wide eyes, his head shaking rapidly.
“Uncle Vespers!” they all now heard, everyone turning to the end of the hall where they now saw Ula. “I didn’t know you were visiting today.”
“It was a last minute plan with your mom.” Vespers spun in his seat to accept the embrace Ula offered, feeling her plant a kiss on his cheek. “How have you been?”
“Pretty good, done unpacking everything.” Ula took a seat beside him, taping her long nails on the counter. “Gonna go hang out with the beaus a little later.~”
“Atlas was telling me.” Vespers turned to her. “I never got to ask, how was the trip? I heard you made a new friend.”
“Oh yeah, his name’s Richard. He’s such a bookworm, maybe even more than Atlas.” Ula gave a laugh. “We traveled together for a bit and he decided to come to town since he’s never been here.”
“Oh. I see.” Vespers raised his eyebrows, glancing over at Jelly who gave a shrug before she turned to start putting the ingredients into a pot.
“Oooh! Uncle!” Ula gasped before hopping off of her chair, fast walking around the counter where Jelly and Garden Bud were. “Bud!”
“Bud?” Vespers blinked as he watched the doll be swooped into Ula’s arms, apparent surprise as he was rushed over to Vespers.
“Uncle! Could you make some little clothes for Bud?” Ula widely smiled at her uncle whose eyes trailed down to the doll that looked up at him in anticipation. “I’d obviously pay you for it, you just name your price! Bud’s been needing some new outfits since he can only rely on the official Garden Bud toy ones, they’re not always very fashionable.”
“I would like some new outfits.” Bud raised his eyebrows at the thought of it.
“Outfits...for Garden Bud?” Vespers continued to look down at Bud, realizing that he was being carried like a child would. His gaze then lifted to Ula’s features, almost seeing a twinkle in her eye as she looked at him, full of hope. “What outfits did you have in mind?”
“Possibly some jeans ya know. Some sweatshirts, hooded ones. I really need him to have a winter coat, he gets really cold and I have to wrap him up in a blanket like a baby.”
“I’m not a baby though.” Bud replied, Vespers snickering as he remembered just how Bud was being held.
“When do you want to start measuring him?”
“We can do it some other day.”
“Why don’t you just do it right now?” Jelly suggested as she wiped her hands. “Vespers is here and I doubt it’ll take very long. I’m almost done with the chowder and I still have to make some sandwiches for it, we can continue talking when we eat. There’s some measuring tape right over there.”
Vespers saw Ula reach over the counter to grab some measuring tape, handing it over to him with a big smile. He couldn’t resist smiling back at her, even if her killer doll was creepily staring up at him.
_____________
“Can I have a clown outfit too? I wanna look like a clown!”
“Could you hold still?” Vespers dropped his hands on his lap with a sigh.
In front of him was Garden Bud, standing on top of a small stool Ula had brought over to help with the measuring. That was over twenty minutes ago, when Vespers started measuring the doll.
“Bud,” Ula sternly called out to the doll, the latter turning around to face her. “No moving.”
“Okay, okay.” Bud stood erect and with his arms extended out, absolutely no movement as Vespers resumed his measuring. Until- “But can I have a clown outfit?”
“Garden Bud!” Jelly shouted from the kitchen, the doll once again standing still. “Good boy.”
At the sound of this, a slight tint of pink appeared on his pale features. At least in his somewhat flustered state, Vespers could finally get some proper measurements out of the doll.
“Are you going to want some shoes too?” he asked Ula who had been sitting beside them.
“Nah, I’ve found plenty of those.” she waved a hand, right before placing a finger on her chin. “However, I’d appreciate it if you could make him some small blankets. Doll ones aren’t exactly the warmest ones.”
While Vespers and Ula continued on with their conversation,. Bud lowered his arms that fell at his side as he began to clutch onto his corduroy overalls. He didn’t know what else to do; he didn’t want to move from his spot because doing so could make Ula or Jelly upset. He couldn’t have that.
But!
It wasn’t until his little nose caught a scent that he wondered if they really would be upset...
Garden Bud turned to the side, eyes squinting while he lifted his nose. Sniffing the air led him to look over to the kitchen. The scent was clearly not coming from here. He then turned his attention to the hallway beside it, realizing that the scent was coming from there.
He blinked once as he caught sight of something red and almost shiny in the distance.
Right on the floor was one of the most beautiful things he had ever seen in his little doll life, but not as beautiful as Jelly of course. But right on the floor was a single strawberry, just waiting to be eaten by him.
He took one last between all the adults, deciding that there really wouldn’t be any harm in going to pick up the lone strawberry. He hadn’t eaten anything yet after all.
So, he quietly made his way over to the strawberry after hopping off of his stool, nobody batting an eye over his absence. The strawberry clearly did not belong to anybody, for he knew that nobody would discard a strawberry in such a way.
Bud made his way over to the fruit, waiting a moment before swiping it off the floor. He giggled to himself, wiping it a bit on his bandana before eating the entire strawberry in a heartbeat. Stem included. And before he could make his way back to the living room, his eyes widened at the sight of another strawberry.
Once again, he went over to the strawberry, then seeing another. And another. And another. And another. He typically would have devoured one after the other, but he found it best that he hold them all in his little hands so that he could place them in a bowl to enjoy.
The doll was quite content, giggling at the sight of the many strawberries some unknown force had been gifting him. What made him ecstatic however was the pile of strawberries he found in the middle of a bedroom he had unknowingly brought himself into.
“Oh boy, have I found the jackpot.” Bud clasped his hands together after dropping the previous strawberries, sneaking on over to the pile to scoop the whole thing up. But before he could do that, Bud heard the door shut behind him, just as found himself being the one scooped up
“I got you! I got you!”
“You got him! You got him!”
Bud found himself in an extreme grip, making him shriek in a panic as he swung around in the air.
He looked behind him as best as possible, his shrieking continuing as he realized he was in the hold of Ula’s youngest sibling as her cousin stood beside her with a terrifying grin that matched Cordelia’s.
“I finally got you! And now we’re all gonna be friends! We’re gonna have so much fun!”
The only response that came from Bud was another ear piercing screech as he wiggled as harshly as possible.
Immediately, the bedroom door swung open as Jelly and the others stood in the doorway with concerned expressions.
“Cordelia, what is going on!?” Jelly exclaimed, hearing a final scream come from the doll who finally managed to wiggle out of Cordelia’s grasp. Right then, Bud fell to the ground and wasted no time, making a run for it between the adults’ legs as the strawberries were completely forgotten about.
“Oooh! He wants to play tag!” Cordelia excitedly jumped around, dashing through the doorway as everyone was shoved away. “Hi Uncle Vespers!”
“Hi?” Vespers awkwardly said before looking over at Phoebe.
“Let’s get him!” Phoebe squealed, soon following suit before she was grabbed by Vespers. “Dad!”
“Don’t hurt the doll.”
“We won’t!” Phoebe replied before Vespers found the space where Phoebe had been in empty, the little moth having appeared behind everyone as she ran after Cordelia and Garden Bud.
“They’re gonna tear him apart.” Ula quickly walked away, going faster as she heard cackling come from Cordelia.
“Cordelia!”
“Phoebe!”
As the adults called out to their respective child, Garden Bud run as fast as his little legs could take him. After having gone down the hallway and back into the living room, he desperately looked for a good spot to hide in.
There weren’t many spots he felt the kids wouldn’t find him in, but there was one that they probably wouldn’t predict him to be in.
He ran to one of the pieces of furniture that also happened to be a small house, a small house for Ula’s cat Samhain.
Bud got onto his knees as he attempted to crawl inside, realizing that cat was already in his desired place.
“Shoo! Get out! I need this spot more than you do!” the doll ushered the cat away, receiving a growl and then hiss before Samhain actually ran off, no doubt to steal Garden Bud’s bed.
“Where’d he go?” he heard Cordelia ask as she looked around the living room with Phoebe beside her.
“Guys! Can you just let him go for now? You scared the heck out of him.” now Ula’s voice sounded.
“Girls, why don’t we just stop and go eat?”
“Are the hammies ready?”
“What are hammies?”
Bud watched through the opening of the cat house, seeing Phoebe’s legs, for she was not as distracted as Cordelia over the sandwiches Jelly offered.
He tucked his little hands against his chest as he sat with his back against the surface of the box, almost shaking as Phoebe’s legs drew closer to his location.
“Phoebe, come on over here.” Vespers called out to her. “Your aunt made some clam chowder.
“Oh boy!” Phoebe jumped, quite thrilled, this in turn causing her walkman to slip out of her jacket’s pocket. “Shit!”
“Phoebe!”
“Sorry, sorry.” she giggled as she crouched down to pick up the device, stopping once her fingers touched it. Eventually, her face came into view, right before it turned to look inside the little box. “He’s in here!”
Before anybody could react, the little door burst open and the doll attempted to rush out of the scene.
“Get him! Get him! Get him!” Phoebe pointed as Cordelia got ready to chase once more.
“No, don’t get him!” Jelly grabbed Cordelia by the back of her shirt.
Bud, having been looking behind, never realized that Ula had been standing in the direction he was headed to. He crashed into her legs, giving a shriek of terror as he believed that he was once again caught.
“Relax, silly.” Ula bent down to grab his small form, hugging him against her chest as he held onto her sweater, glaring at Phoebe and Cordelia. “You’re safe now.”
“Thank fuck.”
“Awww! We never get to play with Bud!” Cordelia stomped a foot before her hand was taken by Jelly’s, the latter leading her to the dining room to sit down in front of some prepared chowder and sandwiches.
“You can try again after you and Phoebe eat.”
“Okay!” Cordelia grinned, motioning to Phoebe to come over, so she ran to the table and plopped down on the seat next to hers. Soon enough, Vespers and Jelly joined them as Ula made her way down the hallway.
“Little girls are terrifying.” Bud commented as he leaned his head against Ula’s chest. “You should never have kids.”
“I should never have kids?”
“Exactly. Stick with me and dump your boyfriends.”
“Why should I dump my boyfriends?”
“I mean, why do you have two boyfriends? Two is too many. In fact, one is too many. You don’t need boyfriends.” Bud posited, not bothering to look at Ula who quirked her eyebrow at him. “Boyfriends are too needy. They give you kids. They cling onto you and get mad if you pay attention to someone else.”
“Hope that doesn’t hit too close to home.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Ula stared down at Bud, giving him a smile and chuckle, as he was left in confusion.

I intended to write angst but...wow...this is so much more than that
I apologize for there’s a lot of hurtful words in here, and I promise to make it up in the fic after the next one if not actually next uwu
Ula hated him.
If she had a heart, she would have hated him with all of it.
Ula hated Davey.
That was what he kept telling himself. She hated him so much, maybe Schrader and everybody else were wrong. Ula couldn’t even bear to see him, it was such a terrible feeling.
Davey should have never said any said or treated Schrader the way he did that other day. Surprisingly, he had forgiven the sailor and reassured him that things were bound to get better.
“What does that mean?” Davey asked Schrader after they had shared a lengthy hug, eventually pulling himself away to wipe his tears that would still not cease. “It can’t rain all the time?”
“It means that no matter what, a light will eventually come and break through the darkness. There has to be a sun some time you know.” Schrader told him. “Ula doesn’t hate you, she never could. Her thoughts are just clouded by some anger that’ll eventually go away, and she’ll show her love for you once again.”
That wasn’t true. It wasn’t, Davey kept telling himself.
Ula had even made sure to tell Cordelia to close her bedroom door so Davey wouldn’t come in. She really hated him…
The little clown wiped away the tears that rolled down his cheeks as he sat up in bed. Only hurtful thoughts about his older entered his mind. She really preferred to see Atlas instead of him, it hurt so much.
Davey gave a whimper, wiping his entire face, then laying on his bed as he hugged one of his toys. He looked down at it, crying even more as he realized it was one Ula had gotten for him, when she loved and cared for him. The plush brought memories that hurt to think about because of the fear Davey felt, so terrified that he would never see his sister happy when around him again. So, Davey hugged is toy even tighter as he cried into it, shutting his eyes in hopes of sleeping till the next day. Sometimes, dreams were a lot better than reality was.
Hopefully, Ula wouldn’t be so upset by then.
Knock knock.
Davey slightly opened his eyes, feeling as they were still quite watery. He then lifted his head to eventually sit up while still clutching onto his toy.
“Davey? Are you there?”
Davey’s eyes widened at the voice and he immediately climbed off his bed, rushing over to his closed door. He reached up and grabbed the doorknob, hesitating as he felt his face scrunch up with more teas while another two knocks sounded.
“Davey?”
He opened the door before hiding his crying face behind his plush toy, feeling more tears pour out as he saw her.
“Davey...I...we need to talk.” Ula’s voice told him as she gently moved away the plush in front of him, and she cooed at his flustered expression while caressing his cheeks as her nails softly grazed his skin. “Oh Davey...what’s been going on with you?”
“Ula, U-Ula...I-I didn’t, I didn’t mean it! I-I-I don’t hate Sch-Schrader!” Davey sobbed out as his nails dug into his plush toy. “I’m so sorry...I-I really am.”
“Davey, stop.” Ula shushed as she wiped away his tears, giving him a smile, holding his face. “I don’t care about that.”
“But Ula-”
“I hate you either way.”
Davey stood paralyzed at the sound of those words, looking at Ula with wide eyes before she gave a laugh.
“You seriously think I love you? Or would ever do that again?” she continued laughing before releasing Davey to shove him away but pushing his head. Davey fell backwards onto the ground before Ula reached over to grab his plush toy, looking over it with a laugh.
“You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me. What is this piece of shit?” she rolled her eyes, then ripping the plush toy in half to throw it over to Davey. “You can’t get any affection from me or anybody else, so you go to these stupid toys? How pathetic.”
Davey couldn’t believe any of the things Ula was saying to him, this couldn’t be real.
“Oh don’t give me that look. Teary eyes just aren’t your thing, it doesn’t work on anybody.” Ula mocked, leaning down towards Davey who backed away. However, Ula’s hair shot down to tightly wrap around his ankles, forcefully dragging him closer towards her as she hovered above him.
“You think that everything’s just supposed to go your way, huh?”
“No! No I don’t!”
“You think that by throwing a little temper tantrum, I’m going to be all over you as if you were a good brother?”
“No!”
“What next? Are you going to do that to Atlas too? Do it. Do it so I can have a reason to hate you even more.” Ula grit her teeth at Davey who gave a whimper, trying to sink into the ground to get away from her which proved to be impossible. “I’ve always hated you Davey, ever since I learned you were in my mother’s womb. You came along, and you took everything away from me! Everything!”
Ula reached a hand down towards Davey, grabbing his collar before pulling him up so he was right in front of her face.
“Say something you coward.”
Davey sobbed as he shook his head, hearing as Ula groaned while rolling her eyes again. She soon dropped him back onto the ground.
“I swear, you really are good for nothing. Pathetic. Small minded. Selfish. Stubborn. Want me to say more?”
“Ula, please.” Davey breathed out, watching as his sister shut the door behind her. Davey crawled backwards as Ula followed right after him, right up until Davey’s back hit his bed, giving him nowhere else to go.
“Ula-”
“Shut up!” Ula snapped as she lunged forward with claws and now bright pink eyes. “I’ve had enough of you! Enough, do you hear me!? I want nothing to do with you and I want you out of my life for good!”
Davey weeped, shutting his eyes as he curled up and attempted to hide himself. However, this was futile as he heard footsteps, causing him to open his eyes and look to see two other figures, very tall ones.
“In fact, I think I’ll be the one who gets out of your life. Knowing you, you’ll just stay and be a weeping, bothering mess.” Ula smiled, fluttering her eyelashes as she turned to each of the figures who were easily recognized as her ex and current boyfriend. “Right boys?”
“Just leave this kid already Ula.” Schrader scoffed as he grabbed her waist, making her giggle before he looked at Davey. “Always being a little shit, made my life hell.”
“Schrader, I-I thought-” Davey shook his head, completely confused at what he was hearing yet so hurt.
“ He says, ‘I don’t hate you!’. Fucking ridiculous.”
“Oh yeah, I agree.” Atlas nodded before taking Ula away from Schrader, dipping her which made her give a delighted laugh as he looked at Davey. “Whatever chance he gets, always being so damn annoying.”
“We should just leave.” Schrader commented, crouching down in front of Davey to flick his forehead. “Never come back.”
“I like that idea very much.” Ula was now brought back up as both Atlas and Schrader held her. “Let’s go far away from this piece of shit.”
“UIa! P-please!” Davey cried out as he tried crawling over towards his sister, but she stuck out of foot and placed it on his head to keep him in place.
“P-p-p-please! Please what Davey? Stay here with you?”
“I-I love you Ula! You-re m-my big s-s-sister!”
“No, I’m not. You might have come out of my mother’s womb, but you are nothing to me.” Ula spat out, shoving Davey away once again before turning to Atlas and Schrader again. “Besides, I think it’s much better when I’m with either one of these two. Or how about both? Both sounds great, and better than a second with you.”
“Ula…”
“So, Davey?” Ula leaned down towards Davey. “Good night.”
Before Davey was able to react, Ula’s eyes turned pink once again as her hand grew into a claw. She directed her hand towards Davey, about to slash at him before she gave a blood curdling scream.
In an instant, Atlas and Schrader faded away as Ula held her chest in pain, feeling such agony before she fell backwards. Ula continued screaming as her whole body started to morph, turning different colors, all dark. Sharp shapes came in and out of her as she screamed, her pink eyes being the only light in her.
And then, Davey felt himself shaking. He started to panic, he was shaking violently, like it was some kind of earthquake. As this happened to him, Ula was letting out inhuman shrieks that made Davey cover his ears, shutting his eyes as the shaking continued until-
“Davey! Davey!”
Davey’s opened his eyes, completely terrified as he was still shaking, but not as violently. He then realized that it wasn’t him who had been doing the shaking, but rather the girl holding him to wake him up.
“You’re awake!” she exclaimed, both whipping around to see a boy who stabbed a knife right into Davey’s wall. Soon, he stabbed one time after another continuously before whatever he had been stabbing faded away...into his knife, a pink color present.
“Davey, are you okay?” the girl asked, Davey turning to her as he remembered who she was.
“F...Flora?”
“Yes, it’s me. We could tell you were having a bad dream.” Flora breathed out, then bringing Davey into a tight hug. He was in shock at first, but returned the embrace nonetheless as he began crying once again.
Flora looked over at her brother who placed a hand on the wall, holding himself up that way while his knife in the wall also managed to help.
Basil then held his chest, giving soft pants before taking his knife and placing his back on the wall, sliding down until he was on the ground. He then turned to look over at his sister and Davey, shutting his eyes to rest against the wall as Davey’s sobs were heard despite being muffled in Flora’s clothes.

This isn’t for a long while, but I wanted to draw them to maybe get an idea of what they looked like when they got older.
Davey the sailor clown and Cordelia the ballerina mermaid (still working on a title for her)
