Former TNA World Champ on New Ownership, Did Goldberg Lead to Strong 4Q, Subscriber Update and More!

Hola folks!  Welcome Space Monkey Mafia to another edition of the nightly news.  Hope all of of you are doing well, lets hop in.

Eddie Edwards on New Ownership - Eddie Edwards spoke to RealSport recently and was very candid with his feeling on the new ownership of TNA, saying;

You know, I think it's a good start. It started off for the new year, and I think it's the perfect time. It's a new year. It's a new beginning. It's truly a new era for Impact Wrestling under Anthem. The ownership, the guys in charge there, they truly believe in our product, and we believe in them. So I feel like this is a true time where the wrestlers, the production team, the office, the writers, everybody is on the same page. And as long as we're on the same page, we're all gonna go the same direction. You can especially tell by the guys in the ring, when we go into that ring people are going out there having the best matches they've had because we want - we truly believe in what we're doing behind the scenes. If that wasn't the case, people wouldn't be risking their life in the ring.

Goldberg Lead to Strong 4Q? - Vince McMahon was asked today during the quarterly conference call about Goldberg’s impact on the WWE this year.  The caller asked if the perceived “Goldberg effect” had anything to do with the strong hype heading into WrestleMania.  Vince responsded with a very stern and almost uneducated remark, saying;   There's no one talent that makes this big wheel keep on turning. It looks like Pappa Vince really underestimates the talent roster and his booking skills.  The product was slumping badly heading into Survivor Series, and Goldberg’s arrival did in fact help.  WWE Subscription Update - The WWE announced today that they have 1.5 million subscribers.  This is up from the 1.458 from the third quarter.  This should make Vince and company happy, as this is a sign of growth.   Major WrestleMania Match? - There’s talk of having Neville defend his Cruiserweight title against Austin Aries at WrestleMania.  Aries has officially been cleared to return to the ring and the idea is to bring him back in time for WrestleMania.  Quick Hitters: Bray Wyatt laughed at John Cena’s claims that only Cena and Styles were on the same level.  Donvon Dijack announced that he’s informally done with Ring of Honor after the 11th.  It could be a storyline but it might be legitimate.  WWE star Kane has been dealing with nagging injuries, which explains his absence.
