Daryl Feril has a treatment for his graphics the way I would love to implement in my own style (if I had the skill). His signature is the highly intricate watercolor foliage seen in almost all of his work. Feril is also very skilled in using collage and vibrant color to further activate his often centric compositions. I love his work for their fantastical but also structured beauty.

Our group chose 2 designers for this assignment: Daryl Feril and Martin Venezky. 

Our first designer is Daryl Feril. I was impressed by his works, which are mostly illustrations. He has this combination of realism and flatness in his artworks. I think one of the reasons why I’m impressed is because of his use of vibrant colors. They are all super eye-catching and bright. 

For Martin Venezky, I admire his use of small details and type in his design. Since he is a book designer at first, he pays extremely great attention to details to make his works perfect. He is also a very inspirational designer and we were really lucky to have met in last term. He also has these impressive collages that were made from his own photos.

New Designer: Daryl Feril

What first drew me to Daryl Feril’s work was his use of floral patterns and bright colors. His use of color is bold, but also incredibly elegant. I like how he has a style that shows through all of his work, and it’s obvious that he’s not afraid to show it. His typography is varied, incredibly beautiful, and always looks good with whatever illustration he has paired with it. I really appreciate that he has a more illustrative type of graphic design as well because it shows me that graphic design is not limited to certain types of art. HIs art just makes me very happy.
