Awad Darwasha, a Muslim Arab paramedic, came here to the Nova festival grounds on October 7th to save lives. Despite the thousands of terrorists here, despite the incessant gunfire, he did not stop and did everything he could to save the lives of as many as possible, until he himself was shot and killed by the damned terrorists. Awad is a symbol of partnership, leadership, and courage. A true Israeli hero.

i'm the same anon from before! i was actually looking for arabic recommendations, if you wouldn't mind!
okay!!! definition is not clear cut since alternative and independent and underground music overlap a lot and people tend to use them interchangeably often so imma just talk about a few bands artists that i like that i think fit that definition? (imma add the the artist, their style ish and a couple songs i like to make things less daunting hopefully! this might get long tho ghjkds)
most of these are made up of men for the most part but im working on expanding my music library!
[instead of dropping individual songs im gonna link a playlist in a reblog at the end with some of the artists mentioned and other not. just stuff i like]
jadal!! they're one of my favorites and are releasing an album very soon which im very excited about. they're a jordanian rock band and while arabic rock has been around since the 70s there's very little of what's left pre 2000s so they could be considered [Imo] one of the first bands to do that genre and be popular to a certain extent.
mashrou leila! this is how i jumped into this whole other side of arabic music. they're a lebanese band, their style is maybe indie rock? it's very good tho. lead singer is openly gay [and last i checked was using they/them!] and it influences/is a theme in a lot of their music most prominently and earliest i believe is fasateen. in their npr tiny desk thing they talk a bit about the songs they perform and it's got beautiful renditions
darwasha project i actually don't know anything about them, their music is on soundcloud and they're no longer active now but they do fusion music and it's so so good. mostly rock maybe even metal with like traditional arabic and oud(<- instrument). asma is my favorite
el morabba3 i also dont know much about them and dont listen to them too much but it's nice, not too close to my style. genres acording to wiki: Post-rock, progressive rock, indietronica, psychedelic, alternative rock
soapkills is like if you're talking indie, you're talking soapkills. they're a lebanese duo, zeid hamdan and yasmine handan [not related] that were together (as a musical group i mean. not in a romantic relationship sense) in the 90s. they still make music today. i never got into their style but it's out there!
#linking in an rb cause my laptop about to shut down#i mostly listen to songs here and there so no fixed artists#also have been lostening to more rap lately so theres that also#anon#pitstops

13, 14, 1, 21!
1-your favorite album opener
Romance by mcr I'm a sucker for instrumental openers and this also is special to me for reasons (it's silly but eh)
13-a reboot of a song/songs you already loved (remix, mashup, acoustic, etc.)
I love the acoustic lunacy fringe by the used from the purevolume.com sessions
14-a song with the name of a place in the title
This is tough cause the only song coming to mind is sweet home alabama no wait, I'm shipping up to boston by the dropkick murphys I've always really liked it
21-a song from a local artist
>:D this is the best question, I'm gonna go with roman by mashrou'leila, seriously go give it a listen and watch the mv it's really good (they have lyrics in either the caption or description) (they're one of my favorite bands so i talk a lot about them), but ig local artists they always mean the whole arab region so i can technically get away with this: asma by darwasha project, it's arabic rock, has a really unique sound, would recommend (it's on soundcloud)
Send music asks!
#also for the first one al mouqadima by mashrou leila#ik ik; it also fades into the song after it; it's great#*ask game turns into essay*#thank you jordan<3#(in my head you're called jordo because of your discord username)#ask games#sleevesareforlosers
