#Darren and Mia are cool AF

Lol the desperate reaching re the suits. From the very first interviews in S01 Chris repeatedly said his favorite color is blue and he wears it all the time - long before he ever set eyes on Darren and vice versa. How is then blue a CC-color coordination? Does Abby understand that time doesn't run backwards? Last year Darren wore a different color while Chris was in blue again, is Abby's new theory that if Chris is in blue and Darren in whatever color, it's a coordination dammit!

It’s like Saturday was an absolute shit show we saw. The cc fandom was visited by all 3 ghosts of Christmas past/present/future and woke up Sunday with a reborn sense of purpose. Once that purpose was turned on, they have been unable to turn it off. Now EVERYTHING is a poetic representation of crisscolfer- including their suits last night… which didn’t look good together stylistically at all. 

Now that you mention it, Chris does wear a lot of blue. I grabbed a pic of the suit he wore last year- a very similar look.

Both guys looked stunning on their own, but what I love the most is how their styles are almost complimentary of each other. I mean, imagine them standing together side by side. The sheen of Chris’ suit next to the muted velvet of Darren’s. The blue pop off color from Darren’s nails reflected in the subtle blueish tone of Chris’s suit. Somehow they just match, like they are meant to be.

This comment had me feeling some kind of way. Yes, they both look stunning.  In fact, all 4 members of the cc conspiracy theory look stunning. Chris and Will are competing for highest hair and I am living.

I completely disagree with the comment about Chris and Darren’s coats looking good together. Their clash in so many ways..almost like they weren’t planned together! 

Chris’s coat doesn’t look its best under the photography lights on the red carpet. They exaggerate the sheen making it outright shiny and they completely obliterate the beautiful color shift that comes from the fabric’s natural drape. Instead of gorgeous tone-on-tone color, the folds are reading as more or less shiny, giving the entire coat an inexpensive look. The ruching on the sleeves looks like he once had his sleeves pushed up to his elbows, leaving it now a wrinkled mess. Under natural light, the coat is very beautiful. 

The sheen is soft and muted-not at all shiny. The color shifts and changes subtly as the fabric drapes and the ruching on the sleeves looks like it was meant to look, a gorgeous textural contrast to very smooth fabric- silk? satin? IDK my fabrics that well to know by eye. I wish I had a bigger pic to of Chris alone in natural light just to appreciate the design. 

Standing next to Darren’s soft velvet under the harsh lights would have only highlighted the sheen in Chris’s coat- not a good thing. 

But the bigger problem is they are stylistically so different.  They would have looked terrible next to one other as a co-ordinated outfit. Darren’s has loose, oversized, military silhouette. It is so different from Chris’s very traditional, fitted, tuxedo silhouette. Chris’s coat details include an almost tone-on-tone black collar, the dark blue color and the ruching on the sleeves. His pants are made a contrasting matte material and it looks like the jacket material was used to make the tuxedo stripe. He was styled traditionally with a black bowtie- I can’t see the shoes but I have never seen Chris wear funky shoes. Chris’s outfit is gorgeous and next to a standard tuxedo, the details give it a slightly edgy quality…until Darren showed up. Darren’s jacket is sporting a bold gold metallic and red striped trim that is pulling all of the focus and would have overpowered Chris’s outfit entirely. Add the styling- his slim-fit pants, no tie, rock n’roll Louboutin boots, and that beautiful white shirt- even the nail polish- and nobody would see Chris. 

Mia is wearing THE perfect dress stylistically to go with Darren’s outfit- they are clearly together but they are too cool to match. The dress’s ripped bottom is bold, grundy, and nontraditional enough to stand up to Darren’s outfit without pulling focus. Mia is very good at dressing to look like she and Darren thought about their outfits but she never pulling focus from the star. From stories I have heard about fans seeing Darren at Guns n Hoses shows- he does the same for her- he is dressed down and politely refuses photos because she is there to support her.  They are always the coolest looking couple at any event.

What really got me going about the hopelessly’s comment was

First of all, a pop of color on the NAIL will NEVER save 2 horribly clashing outfits.That isn’t a thing.

their absurd hyper-analysis of photos continues to make me laugh. abby reblogs a pic she would 100% say was a look of disgust from D if they thought he was looking at Mia, but since it's Chris, it's love. hell, in the same pic Naya looks like she's checking Chris out. clearly, she wanted him. then they compare a wedding pic of D and M with a set photo of D and C and it's like.. C isn't even looking at D there? they would never be able to tell you who D was in a pic w/ based on his face alone

Ugh, I know. It’s also funny that the wedding pic is hot and supposed to be hot and yet she claims it’s the opposite.  Whatever,  Keep trying lady.  Nobody beyond your little group of gaslighters is even listening. 

I laugh every time they post the old photos from various events. It’s a photo- they could legit just be turning their heads and were caught mid motion.  It doesn’t mean they were staring- but Abby and the onions automatically get so caught up in narrative behind that one frozen moment.  9/10 the video proves their long-held tropes aren’t even real. 

But let’s pretend they are real, let’s pretend that Darren was married to Chris and worked with Chris 16 hours a day on set and he was stilllllll so HOT for his husband that he couldn’t stand to NOT smolder at him on stage for the 10 min they were out there.  Now remember, he was closeted at this time so this kind of look would have been ILLEGAL AF and set him up for a potential lawsuit for breach on contract... I mean we are talking HIGH STAKES here. This is a couple who have cut off all social media and real life ties since Glee ended BECAUSE they are sooooo worried about that breach of contract, but Darren was horny and just couldn’t look anywhere else. So what?  4-ish years later he’s married to Mia and Chris is nowhere in his life. Even if they are still friends and talk on the phone or whatever friends do in 2019- their lives are entirely separate.  While we don’t know what Chris is doing, we have a pretty good handle on what Darren is up to and it isn’t spending time with Chris.  Also their lives are just entirely different.  So something cooled off.

Mia has a show coming up with her band. Mia played bass at her wedding in front of family and friends. So obviously it was an advertisement for her concert? Yep. That’s totally sound logic. Not at all contrived. I wish they’d just come out and say they hate Mia and are jealous that she got to marry someone as cool as Darren and now they have a badass married life as husband and wife to build together.

I know...this idea that everything is an ad for Mia’s tiny little band’s show is so ridiculous.  You have to know the band is playing to catch the promotion. Also, Mia is allowed to play at her wedding. Idiots.

Forgetting Mia and the marriage for a second, what perplexes me is the amount of ads/brand partnerships Darren is all of a sudden having pop up on his socials. I remember watching the young leadership panel he hosted with Clorox and him saying something along the lines of "he calls shenanigans" when celebs partner with brands on Instagram unless it's for something they truly believe in. These recent ads seem to indicate that he feels opposite. I just don't get the direction here.

There is a difference from free stuff in exchange for a mention and a #sponsored post. Sponsored posts are when you are paid to mention a brand. It is illegal to take a sponsored post and not mention it is sponsored. I saw a cc claim it should be illegal and it is! Imagine that?! Every influencer is getting all sorts of free shit in exchange for a mention. Instagram and YouTube are full of free stuff. 

Not everything is a promotion. Darren’s mention of Nat King Cole was just Darren mentioning Nat King Cole. I have an Instagram and I share things I like- it’s fun to share amazing things with people. It’s sad that everyone has to write “No sponsored” when they are just mentioning something they like.  

I chuckled at Abby’s list of wedding freebies- having been a designer and wedding planner 5-years ago for a friend, I can promise that her list is not even close to exclusive and nowhere near the expensive stuff.  The big expenses- the wedding- rugs, candles, chairs, the second line band, the food and DRINK, the sound system for the reception, the museum, the cocktail party, the hotel, food truck, ceremony sound system, the silent discos, OOAK Neon lights, furniture for the reception, decor stickers, lighting for wedding and reception, 80′s prom party, swamp tour, rehearsal dinner, food truck- they spent a shit load of money, wedding planner, none of that was free. 

Let’s go through Abby’s list: 

Tux: I doubt it was free. Designers loan tuxes for special occasions but this was not loaned. I can’t believe they would get enough money back on an Instagram post- or even a Vogue article- to give a handmade suit away. But let’s say they did.  

Dress: I doubt Vera Wang donated the dress-unless she did because of Mia’s mom working there. Vera she posts a lot of brides on her social media, there is no way she is giving away that many free dresses.  Who wouldn't want to be shown on Vera Wang’s social media? 

Caterer:   the caterers didn’t get free promotion- they posted the food on their own social media. 

Combat boots? What? They weren’t free, Mia isn’t famous, nobody is giving unknown brides free stuff

Games; The games at the wedding- I am sure those were given in exchange for promotion from ZGallerie. Looking at the site, it’s cool AF. It’s their aesthetic. The games weren’t put out for people to really play- they were put out because they set a mood. 

Jean Jackets: okay- those might have been free although since they were make overnight, IDK. 

The hotel? nope,  I doubt a 7 night stay was written off in exchange for a mention in Vogue or paparazzi.  

The rings: I highly doubt they got their rings for free- a mention on the designer’s own Instagram is hardly worthy giving away expensive rings. I love that she keeps claiming the wedding band isn’t Darren’s style.  He picked that ring to wear every day for the rest of his life.  

Photographer: This is her livelihood. She may have given them a discount for posting her name but she didn’t give it away. I don’t think Darren posted her name once. Her name was credited on Vogue because they credit every photog 

Nobody paid them to promote their business-something I have seen the ccers argue. “Mention my business and not only will I give you free product but I will pay you do so” how is that good business sense? You have to keep it all in perceptive. 

I think it is weird that Abby keeps claiming that Darren’s social media is all promotion. Look at Matt Bomer, someone Abby holds out as a god- his social media is almost all #ad. Lea does a lot of sponsored posts. The Kardashians who are rich AF, do ads. I have no problem with him taking free product in exchange for mentions or even ads if it is a quality product. I have yet to see him post a “detox tea” or a “fat burning tummy sucker” so I am good.
