Summary: Certain news leave you devastated as you walk into the hands of your not so gentle husband.
Characters: dark!Steve Rogers x wife!reader
Warnings: non/dubcon elements, allusion to sexual content, violence, (forced) pregnancy, power imbalance, dark elements
This story contains dark elements, be aware. 18+
Note: Just a little something for @cockslutpadalecki 15 sentence challenge. Haven't written anything in a long time, so bare with me.
__________________________________________
Soft snowflakes dance down the sky, landing on three inch blankets of snow covering once pristine green gras. The suns shines proudly, making the snow glisten like the 24-carat diamond resting heavy on your ring finger. But even the beautiful scenery doesn't reach you. A picture that once would have made you smile like a child on Christmas, now only suffocates you further. Fingers play with the tiny charm on your necklace, a nervous habit picked up when you were younger, as you stare out of the window of your prison, trying desperately to keep the tears and screams inside as the two blue lines mock you.
You refuse to accept your fate. It can't be true. Not again.
Tiny hands grab onto your forearm. "Mommy, Mommy", the voice startles you. "What is that?", curious fingers fish for the plastic stick sitting next to you.
"Nothing, Jay", you push the test out of his reach, as it disappears in your back pocket. "Don't worry about it, baby."
"Mommy, you've been crying! Why have you been crying?"
"What…" Your fingers meet wet cheeks. - You have been crying. "No, no", you stumble on your words, desperately wiping your face. "I'm okay"
"But you… you've been crying!" The blue eyes looking down at you start to glisten as James' voice turns shrill.
Panic rises as you desperately try to placate the little human in front of you. You sush him as you pull him down on the floor and into your lap, "Mommy's fine - see", you force a smile on your lips. "Everything's fine, baby. It's okay", you whisper into his hair as tiny arms wrap around your throat. "Have you seen the snow? It's crazy, look", you turn him towards the window.
"So pretty…" he mumbles, eyes gleaming. "Maybe we can go out and play?" Excitement rises and he's out of your arms and in front of the window before you can even blink. "Please, Mommy!"
"Sure, Jay. But you'll have to wear something warm, okay? It's very cold outside" Standing up you brace yourself on the wall as your head spins.
"Not Jay, Mommy. James. Daddy doesn't like it", he scolds you, voice serious.
A shudder crawls down your spine at the mention of his father. You swallow as you look at the blonde toddler, his spitting image. "Daddy, doesn't have to know".
"Daddy doesn't have to know what?", a deep voice echoes. You jump turning around, heart beating as Steve stands in the doorway.
"Daddy!", the little boy in front of you squeals, running into the arms of his father. Steve scoops him up off the floor as his cold eyes meet yours. You gulp.
"Steve…", the whisper escapes you before you can think of what you actually want to say. He's not supposed to be here. Not for the next four hours. Bile rises in the back of your throat as the plastic stick stabs you in your lower back. You're going to vomit, you're sure of it. He looks at you expectantly, gaze turning sterner when you don't move. When you don't greet him like he trained you to.
"Y/N", his voice snaps, jaw ticking. "Now."
But you can't. You can't. If you go to him now, if you give him the kiss he wants from you, he'll feel it. He'll feel the test. He'll know and there will be nothing you can do about it. No escaping your fate. Just like the last two times. You know you're done for when he lowers Jay on the ground, gaze still on you.
"Go, check on your brother, James." He dismisses the boy. Jay looks at you before turning and running through the door. Leaving you alone. To unknowingly suffer at the hand of his father.
"Kneel", the command comes as soon as his son is out of sight. "Before I fucking make you." You know you have no choice. If you don't do as he says, then he'll make you. This way, you might at least get a chance to hide the doom lingering in the back of your pocket once you inevitably have to ready yourself for your punishment.
"Steve, please…", you plead as your knees hit the floor. You resume the familiar position, eyes down, palms up. You know exactly what to do. At this point it's basic instinct, a second nature forced onto you for the last four years. A barely audible whisper leaves your lips, a final entreaty before you inescapably have to give into his perverse fantasies, "Please… I'm sorry".
Colds hands find your chin, making you look at him. His thumb catches on your lip, pushing into your mouth. You hollow your cheeks, tongue swirling around the digit. Eyes pleading with him. His thumb presses on your tongue before he releases it with a loud pop. "Go on, baby. You know it's more fun for me when you beg."

Baby it's cold outside
Fandom: MCU AU. Pairing/starring: DARK!Bucky x fem!reader. Word count: 80. Content: Coming DUBCON/NONCON implied, coercion, drinking, Bucky not taking a no for an answer. A/N: Trying to write max 100 words is an addictive challenge which @justagirlinafandomworld has provided with the addition of “Baby It's Cold Outside by Idina Menzel & Michael Buble” (a gorgeous rendition here – but this song always pisses me off so things got DARK).
Tumblr media
Baby, it's cold outside
He’d chosen the music specifically for this, mirroring the way she shies away even as he leans in closer, offering her the strong drink.
It’s for her own safety, why can’t she see it? Outside, it’s a veritable blizzard – that he hadn’t planned, though, it was just pure luck.
Their fingers graze each other as she reluctantly takes the drink fro him. She’s cold. Shivering.
He’ll warm her soon enough, though. He’ll show her it’s better to listen to him.

Hello everyone, hope you're all doing alright, folks!
About me! I roleplay since ten years now, and currently doing it on discord! I live on UTC+2, and I am currently 23 years old. I write on 3rd person, and are pretty flexible when it comes to the lenght of our answers. I would just like to have a partner sending something I can work with. I tend to like playing on a server for the two of us, with using tupperbox. I love OOC discussion, and eventually would be looking for someone who could answer regularly. I am also ready to double rp. To conclude this part, I wish that all people reaching me be over the age of majority! It is possible to do on erp/smut stuff, but more vanilla/simple rp will also be fine to me! About my kinks, it turns a lot about d/s dynamic, as much femdom than maledom and we will be able to talk about it more in dm!
Anyways, about what I am really looking for right now! It will be about some fandoms (I will send my ships on those if you're into those fandoms), so buckle up and here we go!🕺
• DC Comics
• Marvel
• MCU
• Stranger Things (aged-up chars)
• Insomniac's Spiderman
• The Last of Us Pt.2
• Locke and Key
• Scott Pilgrim
• Luca (aged-up chars)
• Life is Strange
• Coraline (aged-up chars)
• Brooklyn 99
• Community
• Gen V
• The Boys
• X-Men 97
• Arcane
• Drive-Away Dolls
• Bottoms
• Alien Romulus
• Challengers
• DnD: Honor Among Thieves
Can't wait to have your news, like this and I will reach out for more talk about what we can rp on!

Not sure if anyone would be interested in an Inktober challenge geared towards comic book characters, but I made one. It only has 15 prompts since I feel like some of them are a little bit involved, plus I personally prefer to spread my Inktober drawings across two days. It's more relaxing that way. I designed this with DC characters in mind, but it could really work for any comic universe. I also tried to pick prompts that would be good practice for different skills (anatomy, perspective, ect.) Hope you guys like it!
Oh and I recommend trying to pick different characters for the different prompts, it's more fun that way!

Safety Measures
Tumblr media
Summary: The security system you had installed in your apartment was done to keep your stalker away. Little did you know, he's already made his way in.
Warnings: dark themes ahead, deception, stalking, allusions to noncon, creepy vibes, nothing too worrying really but do tell me if I missed something.
Characters: Dark!Stalker!Vision x F!Reader
W/C: 1.2K +
A/N: Written for @boxofbonesfic Friday the 13th Challenge. Shoutout to @darkficsyouneveraskedfor for she initially thought of this plot and shared it with me during one of my Vision highs haha
Side Note: Victor Shade is Vision's human name.
As always, your feedback is highly appreciated and reblogs would be amazing. And of course, I hope you guys enjoy! 💙
Tumblr media
“I think we are all set,” Mr. Shade says as he climbs down from his step ladder, tucking the screwdriver in his back pocket. “The cameras have a view of your kitchen and living room as well as your front door and the balcony.” He adds the information and you stare up at him, his words giving you a sense of relief and security.
“I cannot thank you enough, Mr. Shade.”
“Please, call me Vision.” He says with a light chuckle, storing his things back in the large toolbox. “If you don’t mind me asking, it’s for our survey, but why are you having a security system installed?”
His question makes you swallow thickly as the memories from the past months come to light. How innocent everything all started; random gifts left at your doorstep and soon after, at your workplace. Then the text messages started coming in, how this mysterious person would know where you were and what you were doing at the exact moment.
Then the gifts began to become suggestive; different sets of lingerie, that to your surprise, fit you to a tee, with pairs of heels to match the outfit. But the most shocking one of all was a sex toy, wrapped in the most intricate and pristine packaging you’ve ever seen.
Until we meet, pretend it’s me.
The note that came with it said and you immediately called up Sabrina and her boyfriend to pick you up from the apartment, fear encasing you that the stranger would show up any moment. You even changed your number the day after, hoping that it would deter, what you think is your stalker, to a degree and stop altogether.
But it didn’t.
“Miss?” You snap out of your thoughts when you hear Vision call your attention, your hands fidgeting as you think of how to respond.
“There were reports of break-ins around the neighborhood a couple of days ago and I just want to have that extra security to feel safe.” It’s not the truth but not all of it is a lie.
He hums at your explanation, a look of thought painting on his face and you visibly flinch when he snaps the toolbox close.
“I see. Well, I do assure you that our system is top of the line and no one will ever come in and out of your home undetected.” The smile he gives you is a comforting one and you can’t help but feel thankful for his assistance.
He gives you a final rundown of everything he’s installed, showing you each corner where a camera can be found. You nod in understanding as he explains to you how to use the control panel and you make a mental note of all the important details he shares.
“I guess that is everything.” He says with finality as he walks towards the front door. “Is there anything else I can do for you?”
“Uhh—what about the payment?” You ask.
“I wouldn’t worry about that right now.” He states as he slips on his shoes. “We give our customers a one-month free trial for our services. And if everything is to your liking after the month, you can just give our customer service a call and they can finalize the transaction.”
“Oh, thank you so much. Is there anything else I need to know?”
“Nothing more for now.” His blue eyes shine against the afternoon light when he looks down at you. His blond hair falling over his eyes, and his brown, checkered shirt slightly rumpled from working all morning in your home. “But if anything happens, don’t hesitate to reach out.” He fishes out a card from his back pocket and hands it to you, seeing his name printed on the sheet. “That’s my personal line and you can call anytime.” You nod once more at his words and slightly tense when he rests his hand on your upper arm and gives it a light squeeze. “You stay safe now, miss.” He greets before turning to leave.
Tumblr media
“I don’t understand. You said this was top-of-the-line technology.” You can’t help the irritation from slipping as you watch him tinker with the control panel in your bedroom.
“It is.” He simply answers but the lack of concern and conviction in his voice only makes you more anxious.
You want to believe that Vision didn’t install junky tech, you checked the website of their company and all the reviews have been nothing but great. Yet here you are, shaking in fear as your mind flits back to the moment you woke up; seeing a bouquet of yellow lilies laying beside you on your bed and the card with such an ominous note attached to it.
I’ll see you later.
You start to pace in your room as the sense of unease courses through your veins. You can’t stop thinking that something isn’t right, that you’ve made some grave mistake yet you cannot tell what, and the constant tapping of Vision on the pad of the console only adds to the tension that’s slowly enveloping you.
Then the clicking stops and you look up to see Vision staring inside your ensuite. You go to stand near him and follow his line of sight, seeing that he’s staring at the bin underneath your sink where the yellow petals poke out from within.
“You threw them.”
“What?” You look up at him curiously, your eyes suddenly growing wide when he turns to face you, his sapphires growing dark.
“I said, you threw them. The flowers.” He says in a calm voice, his head tilting to the side as his brows knit, confusion painting over his face. “Did you not like them, darling? Lilies are your favorite, right? The yellow ones to be exact. Or did I get them wrong?”
A deep chill creeps up your spine as his words slowly sink into your bones. How would he come to know of such a personal fact? You’ve only ever met him once, today being the second time. You barely even talked when he installed the security system yet he speaks as if he knows you on such an intimate level.
Unless—no.
It can’t be.
He can’t be.
You slowly back away as your blood is filled with fear, your body shivering when he takes a step in your direction.
“Did you get rid of the rest of my gifts as well?” His voice is steady and calm yet there’s a strength to it, making the tension in the room thicken further. “Were they not to your liking, darling?”
“I–it’s—” You try to speak but the words die in your mouth as fear completely takes over you.
“What’s wrong, darling?” He gives you a soft smile. “It’s just me.”
It’s as if your feet start to grow a mind of their own and you sprint towards your bedroom door. But a beeping sound echoes through the walls and your door suddenly shuts close, an audible click coming after, and tears immediately spring from your eyes as you grab the knob and try yanking it open.
“It’s no use, darling.” His voice is so close and you turn to face him, gasping when he plants a hand on the side of your head, standing only inches away from you. “There’s no escape.”
“Please—who are you?!” You cry. “Let me go! Please!”
“I can’t let you do that.” There’s amusement in his voice and he smirks as he moves to wrap his fingers around your throat, your hands grabbing his wrist as you try to pull away from his grasp. “I can’t let you leave.” He gives the sides of your neck a light squeeze, choking as you feel his fingers dig into your skin. “You can never leave me.”

Professional Discretion
Warning: anger, semi violent, mean Steve
Summary: Your boss is unhappy with the quality of your work.
My submission for @cockslutpadalecki 15 sentence challenge. With her fave, mean!Steve.
As always, I would love your thoughts!
Tumblr media
"It's a fucking mess," the stapled papers slap your desk, nearly overturning your coffee, "this is not the proper format."
You look up at Steve, his brow furrowed, a tinge of red in his cheeks in that familiar furious hue. You gulp and his raging eyes flick down to the subtle bob, enflamed further by the show of fear. He slams his hand down on the report, sending your cup to its fateful descent, the lid popping off against the floor and spilling streaks of foam in all angles.
"And now you've made a fucking mess!"
"Sorry, sir--" you begin in a fretful eke.
"Clean it up," he spins your chair around gruffly, "on your knees and wipe up the mess you've made!"
You stare, paralysed by his anger, a memory of another man snarling through gritted teeth. You can't move, clinging to the arms of the mesh office chair as you lean away from his brimming furor. He grabs you by your blouse, hauling you to your feet, dangling you like nothing at all.
"Do I look like I'm messing around? Do I look like I won't punish you?"
"Sir, I'm sorry, I'm just... scared," you croak.
"Good, you should be," he flings you onto the floor, your knees landing in the puddle of your latte. "If you can't be competent, the least you can do is get your ass up and give me something to look at."

The Doplerganger Phenomenon (Halloween 2023) PART 1
Tumblr media
Pairing: (Professor) Loki Laufeyson x Female Reader (College Student)
Warnings: Vague horror mentions, SFW. Words: 2911
Tropes: A doplergnager of someone you know...A string of unexplained deaths and on top of that things are going missing from your apartment.
A/N: 🤪 Inspired hugely from a childhood Japanese horror (?) Romance movie that ws titled Dooplergnager!! #no beta, no editing. My first MCU FIC. Sadly I can't find it on YouTube and I lost the CD, if anyone can find it-- the movie goes like this without any gore. An office girl (I think) lives alone at home, uses charcoal to draw on a canvas and is thinking of entering a museum's art contest... but is so indecisive, and suddenly the door bell rang, she goes to see who it is and sees its a blind guy who idk is asking if it's the right address or smth. She says no and he goes away. ... Boom from one floor beneath her apartment, at the same location as her door, another her appears... her dooplerganger-- who does what she was indecisive about, draws, enters the art contest, basically this whole movie is some detective supernatural thing where a detective discovers that some ppl jump off buildings after seeing their dooplergangers achieve better than them. Sooooo ;) this is not an original idea, just wanna honour this movie.

Clap.
"Listen here. If nobody takes this Friday exam seriously, I'll have Mr. Laufeyson take over all my classes for the rest of the week." Lightheartedly said Thor, his wide voice overpowering the whole classroom, grinning in playful triumph, yet the threat was very real.
Groans and moans—some boos here and there—fill out the jam-packed classroom, ranging from zombie-tired to actual fear responses. My reaction lied delicately, balancing on the tightrope of both dread and hope, but my heart twisted in excitement.
Among the chorus of complaints, chatter, and chairs shrieking surrounding me, I took my sweet time filing and packing my things, which were not so neat. Class ended on a very motivational note. .   .   .
Professor Thor's brother was not one most students willingly paid a visit to after-hours, unlike the other teachers, and looking for him without a purpose in academic advice is as pointless as buying rope from a camel.
His striking slim features, like his most prominent and popular emerald gems for eyes and boney face, take a stand in attracting many to sign up for his courses. I so happened to be one of the lucky few who didn't check the profiles of the teachers and allowed that to influence my decision-making.
Beauty is always deceiving.
And it never fails to be so entertaining to watch from the back rows when another person rage-quits, abruptly leaves in the middle of his teaching, or slumps defeatedly in their seats each and every week. It never stopped Mr. Laufeyson from carrying on the lesson—not even when a wasp flew in by mistake and terrorised the class while he didn't bat an eye.
Until it went after him, he took immediate action, swatting it hard against the wall with a ruler.
He froze.
Holding that fatal position, he rotated his head towards me—I meant, the class obviously.
"Now, any questions? And if there are, you best make it good; otherwise, you'd like your future grade to fall from a height." He removes the ruler, revealing a flattened wasp slowly unsticking itself from the wall and plummeting down with a comically weak buzz.
Then silence.
"Just like that."
I held back from laughing, except for a tiny chuckle joining the other students'. Sucking in the bottom of my lip, I focused on the assignment on my laptop while keeping an active ear for any tidbits of information from him. I really liked his humorous side. But there was something else about him that I loved.
…RING.
There went the bell, and class was dismissed. Mr. Laufeyson, with a smooth ease, was the first to leave, and the others and I stalled to watch him before following suit in hushed giggles.
"—ho! Just now, that got me feeling some type of way."
Another girl low moaned, "I'm melting like an ice cream in the sun."
"I wish he used that ruler on me instead."
Mmhmm.
Mr Laufeyson's back disappeared after a sharp turn, he's never in the cafeteria during lunch breaks but in a way what a relief he won't ever see the dumb side of me. Not that he sees me as anything else except a student.
But it will change.
Thankfully graduation was right around the corner… By then I'll have a chance to ask him out properly. Maybe buy him some flowers? As a farewell appreciation gift.
.   .   .
"I heard you used my name again to scare the children," Loki piqued, hands studiously behind his back as he approached the sun-lit kitchen.
His brother, shining blonde tied-back hair, grins wolfishly after downing a beer can and tossing it in the trash, making it over to Loki.
"Relax, it's just a joke, brother!" Thor let out a boisterous laugh, smacking a large hand on Loki's shoulder and causing him to slightly flinch. "College kids need the motivation. A kick of adrenaline, am I right?"
"More work that is unnecessary doesn't sound very funny to me. I will not be babysitting your class again after last time, a word of warning."
"Oh come on now, you have a knack for torturing students to greatness— and I can supply you with as many peoplee as you wish. Just say the word!—"
Loki's unamusement showed in his thin smile and poise stance.
"—Don't think I've seen the way you've been holding yourself back from having fun these days." He winked, walking off with a whistle in the direction of his study.
Loki didn't think it was obvious but of course his brother noticed his recent shift in behavior, more avoidance. But like all things in life, it would soon pass. It has to. And it will.
The root of his avoidance would graduate soon enough next month. He'll just have to exercise more patience and wait it out.
.    .    .
Friday nights are always the best to rewind and treat myself to fast food on the couch. It's fun to pretend that there's 3 days in the weekend.
Time to imagine the handsome actor in the Notebook as Mr Laufeyson.
"Sorry, can't join you tonight girl. I got a 2nd date with Taro!" Juliet whooped excitedly, pumping a fist towards the ceiling as she one-handedly strapped on her glittery heels with urgency.
I waved weakly at her bursting enthusiasm, smiling hard and happy for her. "Goodluck—"
The door slammed in my face, faint clip-clops of her heels muffled away into the buzzing night, and the disappointment of my ruined plans reflecting off the smooth rogue-wood.
Welp and there goes movie-night with my bestie roommate… Now I've got the whole place to myself, wowie, nice. Time for some self-care.
Was what I thought before accidentally falling asleep in the middle of a firework love confession scene on the big screen, an empty bag of popcorn kernels laying at the foot of the couch I slouched on. As I finally snored myself awake, a series of insistent knuckle-punching came from the door, louder than the TV audio.
BANG. BANG. BANG.
That is so unlike the bubbly optimistic Juliet I know, she wouldn't be coming home until… I patted around me for my phone and checked the time.
9:00 PM.
Yep. It's far too early.
Instantly I sat up straight, unblinking, eyeing the front door with a tight clutch on my phone. No way is Juliet even close to retiring from her date, ever. No one is supposed to be here and not at this time.
BANG. BANG.
Step by cautious step, I neared the door and tiptoed to peer out of the peephole at what–or–who was causing the commotion. My phone at the ready to call the cops.
BANG.
A mop of slick black hair blocked the majority of my sight: as if this person was leaning forwards, face-first, into the door like he was either trying to hide his identity or didn't know how doors work. Since usually people wouldn't be standing so absurdly close against a door with knowing the possibility of it hitting them.
Or this is a drunk idiot who wondered off from one of the other houses. An uncommon occurence but happens.
BANG—
"Stop!" I shouted, my free hand taking hold of the doorknob firm and full of annoyance. Ready to give this possible-drunk a piece of my mind.
The person listened then a soft, almost feverent breathing came through the wood after hearing my voice. Are they drunk and sick? Not the first time seeing this terrible combo.
"Please take a step back!" I warned the person on the other side and swung the door wide open in a rush of concern.
My unsuspecting self, dumbfoundedly, receiving the best shock of my life. It was a man. I knew.
"Well," glimmered a pair of deep green gem-like eyes once settling in my face. Upclose and too personal.  "Hello, my darling. It's been too long."
That infamous silky voice that slithers into anyone's consciousness for days. Belonging to non other but my– I mean, that man.
My vocal cords decided to stop functioning without my consent. "H…"
Almost all of my vocabulary disappeared from my brain the second I fully registered the familiar handsome face in my head. His petal-thin lips parted while my jaw hung as we both looked at each other in a mutual deadlock.
"M– Mr Laufeyson?" My tongue muscle memory took over.
He nodded curtly in confirming his identity, still staring wide-eyed at me as if drinking me in like a new sight to behold.
Wait he shouldn't be here. I wasn't hallucinating this hard, right.
There was no reasonable explanation as to why I could be hallucinating without a drop of alcohol in my system. Unless he stalked me, which is impossible to imagine the busy man ever doing, even pondering it, to me of all people.
Hah. I wish.
But lo and behold it was him, genuinely in the flesh, smiling the most biggest white-teethed smile I've seen.
"May I come in, please. Darling?"
In where? In what?
Trying to make sense of the current reality standing infront of me, hoping this wasn't a prank.
"Why are you here… Sir." I intoned, politely, darting my eyes around him at the dark corners suspiciously. This wasn't some graduation prank right, I secretly hoped it wasn't.
"Why?" A, very nice sounding, humourous chuckle ripples from him before he continued.
"How could I not pay a visit to my most brilliant student? I would regret it for as long as I live." He said it extremely convincing as if it was normal to show up out of the blue at my house in the middle of the night.
"Right. Um, please come in."
I beckoned him in with an instinctual welcoming smile, holding back the urge to tidy my no-doubt ratty appearence and adjust my clothes as he entered.
Brushing his whole arm against mine, on accident I think, but he didn't seem to notice, too focused on removing his shining boots.
Nervously, I closed the door behind him while deeply breathing in the faint passing of his leafy cologne. My mind long forgetting if I should've let him inside.
I tersely said, ignoring the happy booming in my heart, and gestured to the gray couch. Hoping he wouldn't notice the tiniest shade of darker gray, the imprint of where I lazed earlier.
"Please, sir, make yourself at home."
"Oh, I planned to." Mr Laufeyson winked uncharacteristically, smoothly shrugging his coat off him and folding it over the armrest– where I laid my head earlier– casually. One of his hands had a purplish-dark marking across the skin, must've been from him knocking something.
"Thank you, darling."
"No problemo." That was not a cool response at all. Internally I cringed at myself while mentally noting to get him a bandage for his hand injury.
It took much willpower not to lose control of my eyeballs from running down the rare sight of him in only his white button-up while feeling his intense emerald gaze all over me.
Juliet is not going to believe this.
Alright, I'm going to be a good host. And only that. He probably wants to ask about what career path I'm choosing or something, so hold back.
I cleared my throat, meeting with his eyes.
"Sir, would you like some tea or coffee?" And maybe stay longer.
"From you? Anything will do."
.   .   .
Crackles of laughter sitting together on the couch, his arm draped over the back of the cushion behind my head, silly banter over past lessons he taught, tiny tidbits of his favourite things and color (as I suspected was green) proven correct. We share more things in common than I had thought.
Who knew I'd be the lucky one to be graced with getting personal with Mr Laufeyson.
1:10 AM.
In a blink of an eye, time seemed to skip over and the hour hand crossed midnight. Even though I felt no ounce of drowsiness— it wouldn't be appropriate to let him get caught by my roommate. This wasn't exactly all that inappropriate too, we only talked.
"Sir, it's getting very late. I'm sure you have another student to visit tomorrow or something," I tried to sound casual with mild contact, genuinely smiley, and not at all like I was pushing him to get the hint.
His emerald eyes flashed understanding as he gave a relaxed smile, getting up from the couch slightly slow. "I'd hate to overstay my welcome and have you lose your beauty sleep."
I chuckled and copied his action while he collected his coat, his slim fingers fiddling with the buttons almost mindlessly. It was a rare sight to see Mr Laufeyson act… Nervous? Maybe, that would be funny to imagine but he must be feeling discourteous for accidentally not watching the time slip by.
I know I would.
"Oh and dear."
My gaze instantly flicked up to his already on me. "Don't think for one second I could ever forget you," he closed the distance between our bodies and said my name so intimately. Leaning in, tilting his head, my heart a combustion of excitement, as his eyes shut and he left a peck on my cheek.
The signals were green. He was giving all the right signals and I'd be a fool not to go for it. Just not right now.
I muffled my own giggle, leading him to the door as I held it wide open for him. "Thanks for stopping by, Mr Laufeyson. It means a lot to me." More than he could ever know. If only he could stay longer but that would be a huge violation to my roommate's trust. Darn it.
"As it is for me."
He softly smiled, taking his sweet time to walk down the small steps. Glancing back at me twice.
He left without a hurry into the swallowing darkness where the streetlights lacked reach, and I continued staring out the peephole long after his ghostly tall figure lost itself in a concerning direction. Only alleyways and deadends there.
But I shouldn't be too worried, he looked like he knows where to go.
Tik. Tok.
 Tik tok.
It felt like an eternity wishing for Monday to arrive quicker, my nerves aflamed for the entire weekend as I picked out cute outfits in advance. Surely he'd appreciate a different look from me, I couldn't wait to see his face again.
—RING.
.    .    .
Back to class. Here we go!
For once throughout my college days, I woke up an extra hour before my alarm and prepped an all natural make-up look. Taking special care to choose a flattering outfit and spritzing all over myself with my favourite scent until I knew I would be a walking cloud of sweetness. Hopefully something to be remembered by.
Out the door I went after leaving some waffles for Juliet's breakfast. Way too early but it was worth it.
"—Right, let's continue where we left off before another bee decides to steal the thunder and my job. All at once." Mr Laufeyson placed away the long ruler responsible for last week's insect death, I noted that he was wearing the same coat from coming over last friday, as a round of chuckles and soft giggles in the mix, erupted at his words.
Mr Laufeyson was putting extra work into being humorous today of all days or his mood improved positively better... Possibly because of me. Because of last Friday night. Or I was getting too ahead of myself when he could've easily paid a visit to the others. Right, he's just being a good concerned teacher. As always...
Class went on like normally. And he didn't even glance at me.
. . . The hour had passed.
Hoping for the littlest of interaction after class, I sprinted the steps down to the front of the classroom. Ahead of anyone else. "Mr Laufeyson!"
Once I stepped around the desk to properly stand before him, a perky excitement in my every movement to be upclose to him again. My expectations of mildly receiving a smile from him was shattered the second he angled his face towards me, his stiff folders collected under an arm.
"What."
Mr Laufeyson said harshly, "—exactly do you want? My time is limited. My email is on the Google classroom, you can easily find it online to contact me. However If it's a matter you believe is urgent, see me in my office after school hours immediately."
Not expecting this... Kind of standoffish tone.
I deflated under the scrutiny of his sharp green eyes and downturned pink lips, hopes of my outfit and being noticed stomped by his quiet impatience and unusual agitation. Right, we were still in school. Why did I choose such bad timing to talk to him.
Too eager, I must've came across as desperate. Yikes.
"Okay, sir. Thanks," I gave a weak smile as he spun to leave swiftly.
Probably not hearing me in the midst of everyone else's small chatter joining the outside noise as I adjusted the strap of my bag on my shoulder. Heart heavy but I survived.
His change in attitude was unexpected but not unwelcome. The iciness of it. A telltale sign that something or someone had bothered him. By the troubled ook of his deepened wrinkles, I guessed it must be recent— An hour or few ago, maybe— his stiff body language told me it's a personal matter.
Either I was deducing nonsense or being a kick of delusional away from acting on my deepest urge to confess my feelings.
How could I even help him?

I am thirty minutes into Avengers and I think I have made A Miscalculation in which Marvel movie I chose for my second outing. I should probably save this for if/when I want additional content on characters after I get to know them, because so far I remain team Loki Defeat These Fools**, and also oh my god why is there so much government bureaucracy, I’m boooored, there is a reason I was extra-disinterested in the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show even beyond my general dismissal of superheroes.
* Banner seems all right as a human. Obviously Steve has my stamp of approval in theory, though he’s surprisingly bland right now. And while admittedly I came in with prejudice against everyone else and the actors who play them, they are sure not changing my mind so far. When does Thor get here.
* But also this is the least compelling version of Loki I’ve seen and even the scenes I’ve seen so far were much more interesting when analyzed in Tumblr posts than simply watched straight.
Do I really have nearly two full hours to go.

🌶️
The MCU's Spiderman is not a poor execution of Peter Parker's character concept. He's not even poor execution of Miles Morales's character concept.
He is a poor execution of Terry McGinnis's character concept.
Peter Parker and Miles Morales both have so many fundamental pieces to their characters that are just missing for the MCU's Spiderman. Familiar names are floating around him- Aunt May, Mary Jane, Ganke Lee- but the fundamental ideas that make up Peter or Miles arcs just are not there. Themes like Miles's family expectations, Peter's constant money struggles, and the balancing act of doing good vs trying to live your own life are all absent. Even the idea of power and responsibility isn't properly introduced until the THIRD MOVIE when that really should been the central theme from the beginning.
Rather the MCU Spiderman has way more parallels with Terry McGinnis. Both are young hot shot teenagers who end up being taken under the wing of established and experienced hero who is on their way out. Both have complex relationships with their mentor which in a lot of ways serves as the driving force of their character arcs. Both gain high tech suits which enable their heroism. Both are viewed (or at least supposed to be viewed in MCU Peter's case) as heirs to the legacy of this hero.
It falls apart when you get into how they are different. While Uncle Ben is implied to have existed and be dead by the time MCU Peter is introduced in Civil War it's never actually confirmed and never properly comes up. Meanwhile the death of Terry's father is essentially the inciting incident of Batman Beyond: it's what motivates and drives Terry and the murder and it's fallout are the main focus of the first two episodes of Batman Beyond.
What's more MCU Peter's relationship to Tony is grounded in the fact that Tony just shows up one day and essentially taps him to join the Avengers. Bruce by contrast initially tosses Terry out on his ear, and when Terry turns up seeking justice for his father Bruce can't offer him anything but 'go ask the cops for help', and when that goes exactly as poorly as Terry said it would, Terry breaks into the manor steals the Batsuit and goes to stop Powers himself. Terry has active agency in his own choice to be a hero, which helps define his relationship with Bruce and to heroism. While MCU Peter was doing his own superheroics prior to Tony showing up in Civil War (not that he ever does much of that in future movies) his relationship to Tony is defined by Peter's dependence on him and his quest for Tony(/the Avengers)'s approval. And because they don't even bother name drop Uncle Ben or flashback to him, we're left with the impression that the main thing driving MCU Peter is that quest for approval. His motivations are never more complexly explored, and we don't even really see him just running around Queens stopping muggings or car crashes or anything that hints he enjoys or feels the need to actually help people.
And I think that gets into the final and most important difference between the two. Gotham not only needs Batman, it visibly and obviously and terribly needs Batman. Batman Beyond leans into this because decades without a Batman have left Gotham a cyperbunk dystopian hellscape. The city needs someone to stand up to the darkness, to be a symbol of hope, to be aspirational. Terry taking up that mantel means fighting supervillains, yes- but mostly it means doing what the original Batman did. Solving murders, stopping muggings, rescuing people from burning buildings or fighting off street gangs like the Jokerz.
But even in the earliest MCU movies, New York only needs superheroes when the current world ending threat shows up. Otherwise the city is all bright shinny clean streets filled with haplessly content citizens. This is the only reason that Vision's position of 'Our very strength invites challenge' in Civil War makes any sense- because the only purpose of these Superheroes is usually to fight a threat they where somehow responsible for creating. And this problem hits 'friendly neighborhood Spiderman' the hardest because he only has a responsibility to use his great power to solve problems, if their are problems in need of solving. Most of Peter Parker's (and Miles Morales's, Gwen Stacy's, or any other Spiderperson's) day is not fighting alien armies or netherworld gods. It's stopping break ins, rescuing people from car crashes, or dealing with other small scale local threats, that none the less benefit from someone with his abilities to make them better. Either New York in the MCU is an ideal utopian city where the police have everything handled apparently (which ha!) or Peter is apparently not interested in stopping bad things from happening. He spends so much of the first movie basically begging Tony to give him superhero things to do, not realizing that he could go outside and find people that need help on his own.
In conclusion MCU Peter Parker isn't 'regular Peter Parker but not an underdog', or even 'Miles Morales but white'. He's 'Terry McGinnis but without any agency in his own heroism'.

Something of note about Lilia's tarot spread is that—it's hers. The cards she pulls aren't precisely who the characters are to themselves, but who they are and what they represent to Lilia. As her coven, in her life.
Tumblr media
Like, I don't really know my tarot that well—I'm just pulling themes from within the episode and my general understanding.
Tumblr media
But when she was reading for Billy, he was fittingly represented by the Magician. But for Lilia, he was the “windfall.” He was the tower, reversed. Miraculous transformation. Because she, having put the sigil on him, saved him from the destruction and lead to his miraculous transformation. And to her, he was the windfall, because without him, she wouldn't be here, with her coven. She wouldn't have found herself.
Tumblr media
Alice's is very straight forward—“full of fire, fights bravely.” It's how Lilia saw her, what Lilia had once again predicted for her. 'Wound suffered, lessons learned.' Specifically, Lilia wasn't able to warn Alice, but she learned her lesson. So, this time, she makes sure to warn Agatha. “When she calls you a coward, hit the deck.”
Tumblr media
And why does she warn Agatha? Agatha represents her 'obstacles,' after all. Maybe so—Lilia's literal obstacle at this stage ends up being the Salem Seven, who merely want Agatha. Yet she chooses to stay behind to save a woman who probably wouldn't do the same for her. And the reason is—for her, Agatha is the Three of Swords. She looks at her and sees Heartbreak, (Rio) Sorrow, (Evanora) Grief (Nicholas). And Lilia is willing to forgive her—to sacrifice herself for her—even if the universe itself doesn't think she deserves it. This is different from how Agatha views herself, or even how Billy views her, since he initially pulls out the Chariot. One might say it's a random choice, but the Chariot is described as representing “determination, success, and control.” It's about overcoming challenges and gaining victory through maintaining control of your surroundings—which, I argue, embodies Agatha pretty well. So The Three of Swords is who Agatha is to Lilia. She doesn't hate her, or see her as a force to be reckoned with. She pities her. After all, the Queen of Cups is defined by her empathy.
Tumblr media
Then, of course, Jen. Jen is Lilia's path ahead. Not only because she has a brilliant future of her own ahead of her in the mcu, now with her powers unbound. Because Lilia senses all the trapped light and bound power that Jen carries—“The High Priestess: Immense spiritual power, unable or unwilling to use it--” but also because Jen, the survivor, is the one who will carry on Lilia's memory. All those centuries, Lilia had been alone—there was no 'path ahead.' Everything was a jumbled mess, her “path” was non-linear and twisty. And Jen, after centuries of solitude, was her light in the dark, guiding her through the dark tunnels, as her mind wandered through her timeline searching for answers. Jen was the only person in centuries who bothered to see her as something more, to acknowledge her strength, and to help her fill in the gaps as best as she could. And so Lilia sees so much hope in Jennifer—who won't stop becoming better and better. Because for Jen, the Queen of Cups is her path behind. Wound suffered, lessons learned. “I couldn't save Lilia, I didn't even try to save Alice, I'll be damned if I let you two idiots die.”
Tumblr media
Finally, Death, Rio. Well—it's obvious. In tarot, death isn't literal. It's mist often symbolic. Transformation, end of a cycle, new beginnings. Which is why we never see Lilia's corpse, and we never see Rio collect her. Because unlike Alice, Lilia went into the afterlife willingly. And for her, it was a beautiful release. After years of running out of time—she got to start anew—knowing that this time, she managed to save her coven. (I'd also like to think that the reason we don't see Rio collect Sharon is because it was a peaceful death—joining Mr. Davis instead of suffering further. Whereas Alice finally had something to live for, but I digress. I've already made my posts about Alice.)
Tumblr media
I think that this is all relatively obvious—but I genuinely can't stop thinking about Lilia and her dynamics with the rest of the coven.

(I currently have one for Glen Powell & His Characters, One for Bradley/Rooster now, and then a third for WWE/Wrestling. I also can create one for Bucky & other MCU characters if there's interest for more of those characters!)
Jake had been distant for days, his usual lighthearted demeanor weighed down by the upcoming mission. You’d seen him stressed before, but this felt different. He was quieter, less playful, and constantly lost in thought. You hated seeing him like this—so consumed by his duty that it seemed to block out everything else.
Tonight, you were determined to change that, even if just for a few minutes. He was sitting on the edge of your shared bed, elbows resting on his knees, staring blankly at the floor. You came up behind him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders, and pressed a kiss to the side of his neck.
“Jake,” you whispered softly, your lips brushing against his skin.
He hummed, acknowledging you but not fully engaged.
You tried again, this time letting your hands wander down his chest, feeling the muscles tense beneath your touch.  “You need to take a break. You’ve been thinking about that mission all day.”
“I can’t,” he muttered, his voice tight, as if his thoughts were an anchor pulling him down. “There’s too much riding on this one.”
You understood. His job demanded perfection, and the stakes were always high. But you also knew he needed to get out of his own head for a bit—to relax, even if just for a moment.
You kissed him again, this time more insistently, running your fingers through his hair as you tried to coax him out of his trance.
But it wasn’t enough. His mind was miles away, focused on the mission that was still days off. You pulled back slightly, frustration and concern warring within you. You couldn’t stand to see him like this, so you decided to take a different approach.
Slowly, you sank to your knees in front of him, your hands moving to his belt. His eyes flicked to yours, momentarily surprised by your shift in position.
“What are you doing?” he asked, his voice low, his brows furrowing in curiosity.
“Helping you relax,” you said simply, your voice soft but determined as you undid his belt and tugged it free.
You could feel his hesitation as he watched you work the button and zipper on his pants, but he didn’t stop you. Instead, he let out a shaky breath, his body already responding to the promise of your touch.
As you pulled his pants down just enough to free him, you glanced up, and his gaze was locked on you, desire flickering in his eyes.
“You look so pretty on your knees,” he murmured, the compliment causing a rush of heat to flood your cheeks.
You wrapped your hand around him, feeling his length pulse in your palm. Then you leaned in and took him into your mouth, Jake’s hand immediately finding your hair, his fingers threading through the strands as he exhaled a deep, shaky breath. His hips twitched slightly, and you could feel the tension in his body begin to ease.
It didn’t take long before his hand tightened its grip in your hair, holding you in place as his hips began to move on their own. His breath came in short, shallow gasps, the stress of the past few days melting away with each thrust. You could feel the weight of his worries lifting, even if only temporarily, as he lost himself in the sensation of your mouth.
“God,” he groaned, his voice rough, his body finally giving in to the release he so desperately needed. You could sense the shift in him, the way his focus turned completely to you, to the pleasure you were giving him, and it sent a rush of satisfaction through you.
Finally, his movements stilled, and he released a low, guttural groan as he came, his body shuddering as the tension drained from him. He stayed there for a moment, his hand still gently tangled in your hair, his breath uneven as he came down from the high.
When he finally opened his eyes and looked down at you, there was something softer in his expression—a quiet gratitude, perhaps, or a deep sense of relief. He gently pulled you back up to him, his lips pressing against yours in a slow, appreciative kiss.
“Thank you,” he murmured against your lips, his voice warm and genuine. He pulled you into his lap, cradling you close as if he didn’t want to let go. “I didn’t realize how much I needed that.”
You smiled softly, resting your head against his chest. “You need to take care of yourself too, Jake. Not just the mission.”
He sighed, his arms tightening around you. “I know,” he said, kissing the top of your head. “And now it’s time to take care of you.”

Agatha All Along Episode 4: Easter Eggs & References
Tumblr media
If I Can’t Reach You / Let My Song Teach You
A Melody of Connection
In this episode, the witches’ ballad we’ve heard so far gets an emotional boost with additional lyrics added by Lorna Wu, which also serve as the episode’s title. . The powerful line, “If I Can’t Reach You, Let My Song Teach You,” deepens the narrative and adds a rich layer of meaning. This lyric beautifully captures the themes of connection and communication, reflecting the struggles and desires of the witches as they navigate their challenges.
By weaving in these new lyrics, the episode pays tribute to Lorna Wu’s legacy while enriching Alice’s journey, tying her past to her present. It’s a poignant reminder of how music can transcend generations, showcasing the enduring power of song in the world of witchcraft.
Tumblr media
Rio’s Hand Emerges Like The Evil Dead
A Homage to Sam Raimi’s Cult Classic
Rio’s hand emerging from the ground visually mirrors the iconic scene from Sam Raimi’s The Evil Dead (1981), where a hand bursts from the grave. This moment not only pays homage to the cult classic’s blend of horror and dark humor but also reinforces the eerie and supernatural tone of Rio’s character. The reference cleverly ties into Raimi’s signature horror style, which he recently brought to the MCU in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, connecting his influence across both franchises. This Easter egg serves as a nod to Raimi’s impact on horror cinema and his ongoing role within the MCU.
Tumblr media
Rio Vidal Skips Down The Witches Road
Just Like Wizard of Oz
A green witch was summoned to the Witches Road by the coven at the beginning of Agatha All Along episode 4 and is how Rio Vidal joins the coven on the road.
Instantly ready to go, Rio is seen skipping and whistling down the Road as the others look on. As such, it's a clear reference to The Wizard of Oz and traveling down the classic yellow brick road.
Tumblr media
The Second Moon Door: A Gateway to Growth
A Symbol of Transformation
The Second Moon Door emerges as a powerful visual marker as the witches arrive at the second house containing their next trial. Framed by the waxing moon, this door embodies the essence of growth and development—a theme that resonates deeply within various magical traditions. The waxing moon is all about manifestation and building energy, perfectly reflecting Alice’s journey as she faces her emotions and strives for personal evolution during her trial.
As the Teen confirms, this door features the “fire phase,” tying back to the first house and trial, which showcased a full moon design representing the “water phase.” This connection emphasizes the different elemental powers that the witches must navigate. The incorporation of the fire phase highlights Alice’s identity as a fire witch, underscoring the intensity of her challenges and the transformative journey ahead. It serves as a reminder that embracing her inner strength is essential for confronting her past.
The presence of these moon phases isn’t just decorative; it’s a rich tapestry that weaves together the witches’ connection to lunar magic with Alice’s unique trials. It emphasizes that to truly embrace her fire abilities, Alice must also allow space for personal growth. This symbolic interplay deepens the narrative, creating an engaging blend of witchcraft, elemental power, and character development that resonates throughout the Witches’ Road.

Agatha All Along Episode 4’s Major 70s Rock Vibes and Symbolic Fashion Choices
The Coven’s Style: Fashion Hits All the Right Notes
In Episode 4 of Agatha All Along, the coven’s clothing takes center stage, drawing heavily from iconic 70s fashion trends to visually connect each character’s powers and personalities with the cultural zeitgeist of that era. The 70s-inspired looks are not just a nod to the era’s counterculture and musical movements but also act as reflections of the characters’ internal journeys and magical abilities, enhancing the thematic depth of the episode.
Alice’s Counterculture Nod and Rebellious Spirit
Bell-Bottoms & Fire Power
Alice’s outfit, complete with bell-bottoms and round glasses, reflects the most recognizable trends of the 1970s, particularly those associated with youth rebellion and the counterculture. Bell-bottoms, a staple of the disco and hippie movements, symbolize a carefree, expressive lifestyle. This fashion choice aligns with Alice’s independent and rebellious nature, as well as her fiery powers and emotional journey, visually reinforcing her internal struggles.
Agatha and Rio’s Glam Rock Personas
Embodying David Bowie’s Glam Style
Agatha and Rio embrace the glam rock fashion of the 70s, a trend defined by bold, flamboyant styles featuring metallic fabrics, bright colors, and dramatic makeup. Artists like David Bowie and T. Rex popularized this over-the-top aesthetic. Both characters’ outfits mirror this theatrical fashion, symbolizing their larger-than-life personas and powerful roles within the coven. Agatha’s dramatic flair and villainous presence are enhanced by the glam rock influence, while Rio’s edgy, glamorous attire hints at her mysterious, possibly death-related powers, adding to her enigmatic role within the coven.
Jennifer’s Bohemian Connection to Nature
Rooted in Earth and Healing Magic
Jennifer’s flowing, bohemian garments reflect the earthy, free-spirited fashion of the 70s. This style emphasized natural fabrics and a connection to the Earth, aligning with Jennifer’s powers rooted in healing and nature. Her bohemian look evokes freedom and wisdom, qualities that reinforce her mystical role as a root worker and her deep connection to the divine feminine.
Patti LuPone’s Liza Minnelli Tribute
A Homage to Cabaret’s Glamorous Star
Patti LuPone’s sharp, tailored outfit, paired with a wide-brimmed hat, is a clear homage to Liza Minnelli’s iconic look from the 1972 film Cabaret. Known for her bold, sleek fashion and performance-oriented style, Minnelli’s influence is a fitting choice for Patti’s character, who exudes theatrical flair and a commanding presence. This nod to cabaret culture and the world of performance further ties Patti’s character to the musical themes explored within the show.
Lorna Wu and the Coral Shore’s Fleetwood Mac Influence
Boho Rock Aesthetic Meets Magic
Lorna Wu and her band, Coral Shore, draw significant inspiration from Fleetwood Mac, both musically and stylistically. Fleetwood Mac’s signature 70s style, particularly Stevie Nicks’ bohemian, flowing garments, is reflected in Lorna’s wardrobe. The other band members also embrace elements of 70s rock and boho fashion, grounding the show in the aesthetic of one of the era’s most influential musical acts. This further ties into the episode’s ongoing homage to 70s music culture, adding layers of authenticity to the visual storytelling.
Symbolism of Their Clothing Reflecting Their Powers
Fashion That Speaks to Their Magic
Beyond just style, each character’s 70s-inspired outfit serves as a subtle reflection of their powers and personalities, providing a deeper connection between their magical abilities and their visual identities:
Alice’s Rebellion and Fire: Her bold accessories and bell-bottoms emphasize her fiery powers and rebellious spirit, visually reinforcing her emotional journey.
Jennifer’s Earthy Bohemian Look: Her flowing, bohemian style mirrors her connection to nature and healing, portraying her as a wise and grounded figure.
Agatha’s Dramatic Glam Rock: Agatha’s glam rock outfit highlights her dominant presence, magical prowess, and flair for the theatrical, fitting her powerful and larger-than-life persona.
Rio’s Mysterious Edge: Rio’s edgy, glamorous look hints at her possibly death-related powers, contributing to her enigmatic and powerful role within the coven.
Lilia’s Subtle Pink Foreshadowing: Lilia’s use of pink and nature motifs, particularly the pink leaves seen on the Witches’ Road, foreshadow her upcoming trial. This symbolizes her confrontation with witch stereotypes and hints at her future “good witch” persona, traditionally associated with pink, while commenting on society’s perceptions of witches.
Tumblr media
Drop Beat Magazine is a Nod to DownBeat Magazine
A Clever Parody with Musical Roots
The Drop Beat magazine shown in the episode is a clever parody of DownBeat, a real-life jazz and music publication that has been a staple in the industry for decades. This reference not only pays homage to the influential magazine but also aligns with the show’s ongoing use of musical themes to enrich its narrative and characters. By incorporating Drop Beat, the episode reinforces how deeply embedded music is in the world of the characters, using it as a tool to symbolize identity, culture, and the artistic struggles they face. It adds an authentic layer to the setting, grounding the fictional world in a recognizable, real-world musical tradition.
Tumblr media
Lilia’s Premonitions Persist
Lilia exclaims, “Alice! Don’t!”
Once again, Lilia has an unexpected outburst, hinting at a possible glimpse of future events yet to unfold.
Lilia’s seemingly spontaneous and panicked plea, “Alice, don’t!” appears to foreshadow a pivotal moment in Alice’s journey through the Witches’ Road trials. The urgency in Lilia’s voice suggests she’s experiencing a vision of impending danger or a critical decision that Alice will soon confront. This cryptic warning implies that whatever Lilia foresaw could drastically alter the course of Alice’s future.
Tumblr media
Salem Witch Trials Paintings
The Torment of Witches Long Gone
While exploring the house, Lilia discovers a series of unsettling painted murals. Each one portrays the torment and execution of alleged witches during the Salem Witch Trials. Unsurprisingly, Lilia becomes deeply emotional as she views the depictions of the pain and suffering endured by these women.
Tumblr media
Japanese Noh Masks: A Nod to Oni Demons
A Symbol of Inner Conflict
The use of Japanese Noh masks in the series cleverly alludes to Oni, the demons of Japanese folklore, appearing as the coven explores the trial house. These masks symbolize the dark, supernatural forces the witches confront, enriching the narrative with cultural depth by connecting their journey to ancient demonic powers.
Traditionally used in Japanese theater to convey hidden emotions and internal conflict, Noh masks resonate deeply with the witches’ struggles. They embody not only the external threats on their path but also the witches’ inner battles, reflecting themes of concealment, duality, and unresolved trauma. This Easter egg enhances the eerie tone of the episode, reinforcing the show’s overarching narrative of facing both personal and mystical demons.
Tumblr media
A Nod to Alice In Wonderland
Episode 4 of Agatha Puts the Spotlight on Alice…
At one point, Teen finds a record and figures it might be a clue to starting the test. The sleeve says “Play Me,” which feels like a fun nod to Alice in Wonderland with its “Eat Me” and “Drink Me” labels. It’s a perfect fit, especially since this new challenge is all about Alice Wu-Gulliver.
Tumblr media
Reverse-Playing Records
A Notorious 70s Phenomenon
As the record spins, the coven soon realizes it’s playing in reverse, emitting eerie, distorted voices. This moment brings to mind the 1970s myth that certain records contained hidden Satanic messages when played backward, reminiscent of the time when parents believed bands like Led Zeppelin and The Beatles hid secret messages in their music. In this case, however, the coven isn’t dealing with rumors—something far more sinister is at play.

Suspiria Homage in the Record Scene
A Connection to Classic Horror
In Agatha All Along Episode 4, the overhead shot of the spinning record is a striking homage to the 1977 horror classic Suspiria. Directed by Dario Argento, this film is a masterclass in visual storytelling, plunging us into the eerie world of a young dancer who uncovers a ballet academy shrouded in dark magic and witchcraft.
The visual echoes between the spinning record and Suspiria’s haunting cinematography draw a direct line between these two narratives. Just as Argento immerses viewers in an atmosphere thick with the uncanny, Agatha All Along ratchets up the tension within the coven’s trials, reminding us that danger lurks around every corner.
This homage isn’t just a nod to a genre-defining film; it enriches the story of Agatha All Along by linking the witches’ experiences to deeper themes of witchcraft and the supernatural. The choice to feature a spinning record overhead highlights music as a conduit for magic, mirroring the integral role that sound and dance play in Suspiria, both serving to elevate the sense of foreboding.
By weaving in this reference, the episode deepens its cultural resonance, inviting us to explore the connections between the witches of both stories. It’s a celebration of classic horror cinema that amplifies the show’s eerie aesthetic, highlighting the intricate relationship between art, magic, and the supernatural.

The Metronome as a Symbolic Timer
A Reflection of Urgency
The use of a metronome during Alice’s trial brilliantly enhances the tension and thematic depth of the scene. Traditionally used to maintain a musical beat, the metronome adds an eerie twist, serving as a constant reminder of the pressure and urgency Alice faces. Its relentless ticking transforms the trial into a high-stakes challenge, underscoring the limited time available for success.
What makes the metronome truly chilling is how it amplifies fear without giving the witches a clear sense of their remaining time. This ambiguity heightens the dread, forcing the characters—and us—to confront the unknown stakes of their trial. Tied to the show’s musical elements, the metronome reinforces the idea that rhythm and timing are vital not just in music but also in magic. It suggests that precision is crucial for the witches to navigate their challenges effectively.
The incorporation of the metronome isn’t merely for visual flair; it serves a practical narrative function, reflecting the show’s meticulous attention to detail. By weaving together themes of time, rhythm, and pressure, the metronome deepens the atmosphere, grounding the magical trial in a relatable sense of urgency that resonates with the audience. This clever device elevates the storytelling, reminding us that in both music and magic, every tick of the clock counts.

Lorna’s Ballad
A Literal Protection Spell
The moment of clarity comes when the group figures out that playing Lorna’s Ballad is the key to lifting Alice’s family curse. Agatha uncovers that the song wasn’t just a tune but a protection spell, crafted by Alice’s mother and tied to the tattoo she forced on Alice as a child. By ensuring the song was always being performed on tour and adored by fans, Lorna’s Ballad acted as a safeguard, keeping Alice alive far beyond when she was fated to die. To break the curse, the coven unites to perform the rock version of the Witches’ Road Ballad, a track first mentioned by Teen in episode 2, composed by Lorna Wu and the Coral Shore.

Generational Trauma Symbolized as a Curse
A Reflection of Family Legacy
The theme of generational trauma hits hard through Alice’s belief that the curse she bears is her fault. This concept mirrors the real-world struggles many face, where emotional scars are passed down through families. Alice’s fire emblem and scar are powerful symbols of this ongoing trauma, embodying the weight of her lineage.
The challenges Alice and her family confront showcase the cycle of pain that defines generational trauma. Her internalized sense of blame reveals a painful truth: victims often feel inherently flawed, burdened by the unresolved issues of those who came before them. This connection underscores how family legacies can seep into our current lives, influencing our choices and perceptions.
As the witches traverse the Witches’ Road, they’re forced to confront the traumas tied to their pasts. This journey reflects the broader theme of personal growth and healing, emphasizing that recognizing and addressing generational trauma is crucial to breaking the cycle.
Alice’s curse becomes a metaphor for the heavy burden of these inherited struggles, reminding us that these issues are not just personal—they’re deeply tied to a larger family narrative. By weaving this theme into the storyline, the episode resonates emotionally, inviting viewers to reflect on their own experiences with generational trauma. It makes the witches’ journey feel relatable and poignant, highlighting the universal nature of these struggles and the possibility of healing by confronting the past.

Alice’s Manifested Curse
The MCU’s Introduction to a “Demon”
When the coven plays Lorna’s Ballad on the Witches’ Road, Alice’s curse takes on a visible, physical form—a terrifying winged creature. This marks a significant moment, as it could be considered the first true “demon” seen in the MCU. However, there’s a question lingering: What was the curse in the first place? Could this demon actually be Lorna Wu, transformed into a sinister hay-like creature?
Brian De Palma’s Filmmaking Techniques Emulated
A Tribute to Visual Storytelling
The three-panel zoom-in on Lilia is a brilliant nod to Brian De Palma, a legend in visual storytelling known for his work in Carrie. This technique not only adds a striking visual flair but also deepens the emotional impact, pulling us into Lilias world.
The zooms throughout the episode channel De Palma’s skill for amplifying character emotions and building tension. As the witches face their fears on the Witches’ Road, this homage perfectly captures the blend of horror and psychological suspense that keeps us on the edge of our seats.
By embracing De Palma’s signature style, the episode creates an unsettling atmosphere that aligns seamlessly with its supernatural themes. The innovative camera angles and framing immerse us in the witches’ harrowing experiences, heightening the stakes and emotional weight of their trials. This homage doesn’t just pay tribute; it elevates the entire narrative, reminding us why De Palma’s techniques are essential in crafting compelling horror.

The Three of Swords
A Sign of Sorrow and Despair
After Teen suffers a glass shard injury to his side, he collapses soon after due to excessive blood loss. The entire coven is thrown into distress, with Agatha Harkness feeling the weight of the situation the most. During the chaos, Lilia quietly utters, “Three of Swords.” This tarot card is a symbol of deep emotional pain, grief, and heartbreak. Although Teen survives the ordeal, Lilia’s reference to the card heightens Agatha’s fear of losing him, amplifying the emotional weight of the moment.

Lilia's Vampire Bite
More Vampire Hints in the MCU Ahead of Blade’s Debut
As Teen recovers from his injury, the witches bond by sharing stories and showing their battle scars. Lilia Calderu reveals a vampire bite on her neck, claiming she knocked out the creature’s tooth after being bitten. This confirms vampires have been active in the MCU for centuries, long before the upcoming debut of Mahershala Ali’s Blade, which has faced production delays.
The first reference to vampires in the MCU appeared in Loki season 1, when Agent Mobius mentioned their existence. Blade was later teased in Eternalsduring the post-credits scene, with his voice asking Dane Whitman if he’s ready for the Ebony Blade. Additionally, Werewolf by Night provided further confirmation with pictures and trophies during the monster hunters’ gathering. Now, Agatha All Along continues to hint at vampires, even though Blade and the creatures themselves have yet to fully appear in the MCU.

Daughters of Liberty
Connections To Agatha's Comics History
In Agatha All Along episode 4, after Lilia reveals her vampire bite, Agatha Harkness shares a scar of her own. With a casual roll of her sleeves, she points out a mark left by a knitting needle once owned by the Daughters of Liberty—a group she claims to have wiped out in the past. For a bit of real-world context, the Daughters of Liberty were a real historical group formed in 1765. They supported the Sons of Liberty by boycotting British goods, even holding spinning bees to make their own clothing instead of relying on British textiles. Hence, the knitting needle!
Now, for comic fans, this reveal connects to Agatha’s more neutral role in the Marvel Comics. In the original stories, she didn’t wipe out the Daughters of Liberty—quite the opposite! Agatha trained and guided them as a society of powerful women who used witchcraft to protect the world through the generations.
The modern-day Daughters in the comics include heroes like Misty Knight, Echo, Shuri, Spider-Woman, Black Widow, and more. Peggy Carter even takes on the role of their leader, known as “The Dryad” (previously held by Harriet Tubman!). So, while the MCU’s Agatha might have had a very different relationship with the Daughters, it’s still a fantastic Easter egg for fans of the comics!

Could Rio be Lady Death?
Unraveling the Clues to Her True Identity
Episode 4 of Agatha All Along drops intriguing hints that Rio Vidal could be Lady Death, adding weight to the theory that she may have been responsible for taking Nicholas from Agatha. In addition to exploring Rio’s past with Agatha, other clues suggesting her connection to Death are sprinkled throughout the episode’s disco-inspired trial on the Witches’ Road.
The first clue arises during a conversation between Agatha and Rio in the sound booth. Rio mentions being impatient, alluding to the idea that she’s been waiting for the right moment to kill Agatha. Later, she explains her role in the coven, claiming she’s been waiting for Agatha to kill the other witches, saying, “I get my bodies.” These references to Rio’s connection to the dead strongly hint that she could be Death herself.
Another key moment occurs near the end of the episode, when Teen is bleeding out. Agatha looks at Rio with desperation and says, “Don’t.” This scene suggests Agatha is pleading with Rio, who may be Death, not to take Teen away.
The final piece of the puzzle comes during a conversation where the coven shares stories about their scars. Rio recalls, “A long time ago, I loved someone. And I had to do something I didn’t want to do, even though it was my job. It hurt them. She is my scar,” before glancing at Agatha. Later, when she and Agatha are alone, Rio adds, “He is not your son,” which could be a subtle hint that she had to take Agatha’s son because he had died, further supporting the idea that Rio is, in fact, Lady Death.
