It depends on the story. With some stories its not enough to bring a horse to water, sometimes you have to pull the horse down into the water and it can either drink or drown.

i think eventually we're all just gonna have to come to terms with the fact that it's impossible to tell a story with any degree of subtlety or nuance without risking a portion of the audience taking the "wrong message", and that's ok. art isn't meant to be strictly a teaching tool, and if you're goal is just to convince people or critique an idea, just write an essay or a polemic

#I said this in a theatre class once and it is the surprisingly the most devisive thing i have said in a college class #Which is really suprising considering i argued the end of the USSR was a human rights tragedy in a poli-sci class #Daph: i would never do this to Humphrey pls #This sounds much harsher than it is considering i am just saying that sometimes themes need to be so obvious they couldnt be missed
