Prompt 331
Demon twins? Demon twins.
Damian? Good at the assassin side of things, at least for a four year old, but Danyal? He’s okay, but he’s far better at things like poisons and bookkeeping. Which is honestly? Okay. They’re the League of Shadows, and sure a majority of the members are assassins, but it’s definitely not all there are. So? Danyal starts getting medical training.
Not to say that either of the boys don’t know their fair share of violence and healing- it’s just better to let them play to their strengths. One doesn’t keep a league over centuries if they just have one type of warrior, or even just warriors. A variety is needed.
So one gets trained more towards the business side of things. Damian may be better at wielding the weapons and killing- even if neither have had their first kill quite yet- but Danyal shows far more proficiency at acting, at masking who he is and gathering information.
Damian, when he’s first sent to their Father, doesn’t mention his twin. Not because he’s jealous or hates him or anything like that. You just don’t talk about someone in an undercover mission in the League, and it’s not something he realizes isn’t a rule everywhere.
Needless to say, the Bats have more than a mild freakout the first time Damian mentions a twin who will be coming to the manor now that his mission is over.

I get what OP is saying. My Batman is the one from Batman the Animated Series and the Justice League cartoon that was on when I was a little girl. I think this branch of canon is called the DCAU. I don't have much interest in Comics Batman because most Batman comics seem to be written with him being such an awful person that it defeats the purpose of having a superhero story.
You can make a hero flawed and human, but they still need to be a good human even with all their flaws. There's only so much awfulness I'm willing to accept from a character I'm supposed to root for.
I also agree with kaidatheghostdragon's analysis. Not much I can say to add to it. It's good.
Now, for my piece.
I think that, in the interest of fairness, we need more fics where Good Parents Jack and Maddie rescue/adopt the kiddos out from under Bad Parent Bruce.
Dick, floundering and alone after being kicked out and having no idea how to handle life outside the mask? Good Parents Jack and Maddie know a thing or two about living a good life as an eccentric costumed combatant. Come have some fudge and tell us what's wrong, dear.
Dick, traumatized and cut off from his family after Bruce beat the shit out of him for not wanting to let his friends and family think he was dead for an undercover operation and made him do it anyway? Good Parents Jack and Maddie happened to be storming the same facility for unrelated reasons and know a kid in need of a damn break when they see one. Batman did what? Right, Dick's coming home with them. They'll work on getting his siblings out once they have a better idea of what's going on.
Jason, traumatized and nearly comatose from ectoplasm deficiency after digging himself out of his grave? Danny finds him and brings him home to a Jack and Maddie who already had their wake-up call and have put a considerable amount of effort into learning how to appropriately support and care for an undead son. Time for affection and responsible caretaking.
Jason the traumatized, violent, undead crime lord bleeding out from a batarang wound? Good Fenton parents to the rescue. First aid for the injury, and their son knows a ghost doctor who can probably help with whatever the Lazarus pit fucked up. Also, give Jason a Fenton Bazooka because they support his interests.
Tim who just quit Robin over the shit Bruce pulled on his 16th birthday? Instead of forgiving and going back for more without even recieving an apology, he runs away to the town his childhood friend Sam lives in. When he finds her, he breaks the fuck down and vents to the entire Trio. Jack and Maddie had been about to enter the room when he started. Now, they are offering to let Tim stay as long as he needs and setting up a late birthday celebration, since it doesn't sound like he got to enjoy his. Tim is confused. Danny just tells him to buckle in because he's an honorary Fenton, now, and it's going to be a wild ride.
Burnt out, exhausted Red Robin Tim who's just been told that being able to stop himself from crossing the line wasn't good enough even though it puts him ahead of everyone else including Batman? He visited Amity Park as part of his quest to save Bruce from the time stream. Good Parents Jack and Maddie helped him out and told him to come back whenever he needed. That offer is still good. Let the boy rest.
Fresh from the League Damian who's aggressive, stabby, and starved for nonviolent affection? Good Parents Jack and Maddie have this covered. They have lots of love to give, and the whole family is sturdy enough to not be at much risk in the transition period. That said, if he tries to use a sword on his siblings, it will be confiscated, and they will have a long talk about what is and is not considered responsible use of a weapon and what expectations come with the privilege of carrying one. Damian can carry a wooden sword until he has demonstrated his responsibility with it sufficiently to have his real one returned. They make sure to praise him when he does well and gently correct him when he forgets a rule.
Slightly older Damian who is dealing with still being treated like the assassin he no longer is? Good Fenton parents can provide a safe haven. Who wants an ecto light saber?
Cassandra, at any point, sees which way the wind is blowing and just goes, possibly bringing someone with her. Yes, hello, do you have room for an additional daughter? Jack and Maddie absolutely do!
Use that trope of Amity Park being a JL blindspot to keep them safe from Batman finding them.
Have the Batkids slowly gather in Amity Park to recover from their ordeals with lots of Fenton brand affection. The Fenton's are exuberantly, unapologetically proud and fond of their kids. There will be no question as to whether or not they are wanted.
I decided to take a look-see over at what's going on with this DPxDC crossover stuff over on AO3 just to get a sense of the general vibe of the fandom over there. And just... Y'all be killing me with these Additional Tags.
Tumblr media
Like, don't get me wrong, most of these I get. I can vibe with a Ghost King Danny AU. Everyone agrees that Phantom Planet was shite. But like... Bad Parents Jack and Maddie Fenton combined with Good Parent Bruce Wayne...? Why do you have to do Jack and Maddie dirty like that!??? Like, don't get me wrong, Jack and Maddie are far from being perfect parents. They can be forgetful or overenthusiastic about hunting ghosts, but they are genuinely trying to be good parents! They very clearly care about Danny and Jazz, try to be involved with their lives, care about their interests, and support them, while also giving them the space they need to grow and be independent as people. And most of all, they would never do anything to intentionally hurt their kids! As far as cartoon parents go, they're pretty alright! Why you gotta do them dirty like this!? And for what? So that Bruce can be a good parent in their place!?
Now I don't like it when the comic writers make Bruce a bad parent. I don't like how common it is for Bruce to be outright abusive with his kids. But as far as current comics canon stands, he is pretty damn horrific as a parent. What Bruce did to Jason in that recent Gotham War arc in Batman? Absolutely inexcusable. (FYI, he kidnapped Jason and exposed him to some chemical to make him constantly afraid any time his heart starts racing or he has an adrenaline rush. He did this to stop Jason from doing any more crimes. And it's FUCKED!) If I could have my way, I would want Bruce to be a flawed, but overall okay parent. Someone who is trying his damnedest to be a decent parent, but who will stumble and make mistakes now and then. Someone who is a good parent, all things considered, given his life circumstances, but can improve and isn't always great at it. But boy howdy is that not where Bruce is at in current canon! Because like... Where Jack and Maddie would NEVER even consider intentionally doing something that would hurt their kids... Bruce is the kind of character where he might if it gets him what he wants/needs...
Like, in general I'm on board with Good Parent Bruce Wayne, but why does it have to come at the cost of Jack and Maddie being okayish parents? Why not have both Bruce being a good parent and Jack and Maddie being okayish parents!??? Why not let Danny have 3 decent parents!???

Based on OP tags lemme show you a shiny.
Talia had been absolutely delighted and worried about Dani when she turns up. Delighted because she's got a daughter! Who loves life! But worried because someone got close enough and took advantage of her Danny. This someone won't continue existing on this wretched earth for long, she and her father will see to that but when she checks in with her silent son, he seems less affected by it than he should. She worries about him. Been away for so long.
She decides to kill two birds with one stone.
She sends her hurt son, who still stings due to the injustice at his father's lack of vengeance, home. She knows about his plan and hopes that being home will drive the plan out of his mind. Or at least, make him loosen up enough that he'd allow her to take vengeance on his behalf rather than demanding it from his father who doesn't kill.
Then, she takes her curious son to meet up with her silent son. They meet up, they exchange memories, spend some time together. She gets information about the being pretending to be human in more ways than one and hones her fury. Only to be stalled by her silent son who insists on handling things on his own.
She gives in, as she only does for her children and sighs. Her father was right. Children do make her soft but she remembers his own fond smiles and soft laughs and easy acquiescence for her and her siblings demands and thinks maybe it is alright to be soft for your children.
She spends some time in the small town, watching her silent son go about his business during the day and part of the night. Watches him interact with her curious son as they spend time together and smiles as they laugh and play games as only children can.
All too son, she must leave and make further arrangements. She sends her curious son to meet his father and takes care of her bright daughter in any way she can.
