I'm casting my vote for Kate Kane's Batwoman.

Danny, already an Adult, and raised on Jack Fenton's Himbo Tendencies and Maddie Fenton's Attractive Competence (and, reluctantly, Vlad's secret business teaching of Flirting Gets You Everywhere).

He's been on Batman's radar before.

He's helped a few times already with the more ghostly side of Gotham's issues.

The Bats and Birds have his number, and his address, in case they need his help, whether it be a place to stay away from the Bat for the night, or someone to listen to their grievances. It could even be help with homework (you bet Duke is taking him up on that one), Uncle Danny's got you covered. Do you like fudge?

Now, with Brainiac's ships on the horizon, it's all hands on deck. Phantom's coming out of retirement for it, and everything.

But he's forgotten what his biggest defining trait is.

Not the magic, or the ectoplasm. Or even his Wail. Or the ice that clings to and eats through ships, and covers allies in his Protection.

No, Phantom forgets his default attitude is puns and jokes. And, a competent but very caring hero, who knows how to crack a joke? Who acts like a himbo most of the time, but will turn around and throw hands because you hurt a kid?

That's attractive for many of the Knights of Lady Gotham.

And who's in his closest age range, if not Batwoman herself?

In the aftermath, while taking stock of the situation and comforting civilians, Kate and Danny end up drifting to each other with arms around people needing help to get to a medical station, or carrying a crying child needing comfort (every Robin and Former Robin working together for once to get these two together: :3 we have A Plan).

A few months later, and Danny himself thinks it's not that much of a surprise that his Core has started singing to the tiny Baby Core that is starting to form right next to it.
