Jazz's little. Her parents are super cool. They're ghost hunters! It sounds like something from a movie about future and scientists and supernatural beings and cool-looking tech. They have cool-looking tech at home. It's even cooler than tech in the movies.
Jazz also has a little brother. He's stupid but he's hers, and she will protect him from anything. Her brother is very small, he needs someone to protect him and teach him about the world.
She knows about the world. She understands their parents much better than him, and she can tell her brother when they shouldn't be distracted. She knows when they're upset and irritable, and she knows when they're too excited and being near them is dangerous because of all the inventions.
Jazz does a very good job keeping her little brother safe.
---
Jazz goes to school. Her teachers say that she's very smart, the best student in class, and very mature. Her parents are proud of her - when she manages to distract them from ghosts. Her brother is still kinda stupid and doesn't know how to properly fight food, but she's always there to protect him, because that's what older sisters do.
Her classmates seem to think that she's weird though. Some of them say mean things and call her a teacher's pet and a show-off. Jazz isn't sure why they think so because she's always trying to be friendly but maybe she's doing something wrong. She goes to the school library and finds a book about people and their communication.
It's a very interesting book.
---
Jazz is almost a teen. She's gotten better at communicating with people. The school library ran out of psychology books, and Jazz now has to go to the city library but that's fine. Human brain fascinates her.
She's been feeling like something is wrong about her though. She even thought that she was going crazy for a little bit. That probably wasn't true because she didn't match any symptoms but she was still worried.
Someone told her that being so good at lying and faking face expressions is not okay. That's probably not true, Jazz is pretty sure almost everyone can do that. Or maybe she's just being a prodigy again. It's a very good thing to be able to do after all. She can hide her emotions from her family when she's feeling sad. She wouldn't want to worry them, would she?
She'll have to research it.
---
Jazz is a teen. She now knows that her parents aren't actually that good. It's something that was really hard to accept but it did explain everything. Her parents are kinda bad at being parents, and they also don't really listen when she tries to explain it to them.
It's okay. She's almost an adult and Danny has her. She can take care of herself and her brother.
She learns everything she can about being a parent and a therapist and tries to use her knowledge. It's hard, but she's a Fenton, which means that she's very smart and determined. She pushes through, and trains on her classmates and herself.
In the evening she writes about her feelings in a journal. It's very important to be aware of her feelings because that's the first step to dealing with them.
She's experiencing sadness. And anger, actually, even though she doesn't like to admit that.
She writes "this family is a fucking mess" in her journal and then covers the paper with ink until the sentence is absolutely unreadable.
---
Jazz is sixteen, and her stupid parents opened the stupid portal, which means that they're even worse than usual. It's pretty much okay when they're just stuck in their stupid lab, making some stupid weapons. It's not that okay when they're out of the stupid lab, because they get their stupid inventions all over the stupid house, and stupid food comes to life, and she has to protect Danny from both their stupid weapons and stupid hotdogs, and oh god everything is so stupid.
She's experiencing anger.
She's also acting perfectly calm and almost cheerfully.
Jazz hates how perfect her fake smile is in the mirror.
---
Jazz is seventeen. She wants to put her headphones on and listen to some loud music. Jazz can't do that, because she gets anxious if she can't hear what's happening around her. She needs to be fully aware of her surroundings because she needs to be able to protect herself and her brother if weapons against ghosts become weapons against children again.
She thinks that it's not okay.
The house smells of ectoplasm, so she'll be extra careful when opening the fridge.
She thinks that she shouldn't know how ectoplasm smells.
Jazz should probably also warn Danny: her little brother's gotten better at fighting food but doesn't notice the smell of ectoplasm. Funny, considering his ghost sense.
Funny, considering that her brother is a half-ghost.
That her brother died.
That she failed at protecting him after all.
Jazz stops breathing to prevent herself from crying, and doesn't need oxygen for a few minutes too long.
Maybe she failed at protecting herself too.
---
Jazz is turning eighteen next month. Her parents are all of a sudden more attentive and caring, as if that can change their almost-absence during her whole life. She doesn't like their attention because she doesn't know how to deal with it. She doesn't even really think of them as parents anymore.
She thinks of them as a threat.
Once she's eighteen, she's gonna try to move out, and she's going to take Danny with her because it's not safe to leave him here. Maybe after she gets a good job and saves some money, she'll even get into therapy.
Jazz thinks that she needs therapy.
She's been having Bad Thoughts lately, and she doesn't write them down in her journal. Jazz stopped writing anything in there ever since she found out that Danny is a ghost. She just couldn't risk anyone finding that journal.
Jazz isn't sure if she should call those Bad Thoughts intrusive. They scare her, and they're Bad, but it could be just her normal thought process.
It's still definitely not normal.
---
Jazz is eighteen. Her parents are very excited, whispering to each other about how they found a perfect present for her, some surprise that she's gonna love.
She doesn't care.
Her little brother is late from school, and it's weird, because he was also super excited about giving her his present.
She's worried.
Her parents brush off her concern, say that Danny probably just got distracted talking with his friends. They don't listen when she says that Danny wouldn't get distracted like that on her birthday because he's not them, he actually cares about her, he doesn't forget her birthdays, and something has to be wrong for him to be that late.
They don't listen to her at all.
She's angry.
Her parents are excited and talk loudly about how they wanted to find a perfect gift for their favourite daughter, and how they managed to do it because they love her so much. She hates when they're excited. It only leads to problems.
They bring her to the lab because of course they do, why would they make a gift that is normal and isn't kept in the lab, right? They usher her in, so obviously proud of themselves.
She hates them.
And she hates them much, much more the next second, because the gift is her little brother in his ghost form, strapped to a table, unconscious and injured, and the smell of ectoplasm is strong in the lab because of his green blood dripping on the floor.
There's a cold part of her that analyses her feelings and tells her what emotions she's experiencing, and that part is very aware of thick black smoke of wrath twirling and twisting under her skin. It's suffocating, and she stops breathing as it invisibly fills her lungs, scared of letting it out.
There's a perfectly fake part of her that keeps the smile on her face as her parents gush about how hard it was to catch the ecto-scum, and what they can do to it - together with Jazz because they wanted to share this with their amazing daughter.
Jazz is black smoke of rage under perfect glass of calmness when she grabs Fenton anti-creep stick. The smile she learned to fake under any circumstances doesn't falter when Jazz brings the baseball bat down on her father's head. It grows a little bit wider when she hits her mother, because Jazz learned to smile brighter when she's hurt or sad or scared or angry - experiencing any "bad" emotion actually.
Jazz is angry when she grabs her weapon.
Jazz is furious when she kills her parents.
Jazz is worried when she checks her brother's wounds.
Jazz feels nothing when she rigs the portal to blow, walks out of the house and presses the button.
She is her parents' genius daughter after all, and she did listen when they were telling her about their inventions. Maybe it would have taken longer to do, but she had Bad Thoughts, and they probably weren't just intrusive after all, because she did what they told her and made it very easy to make a bomb out of a portal. Just in case. Her parents were a threat, and Jazz was smart enough to prepare to dealing with threats, and she was smart enough to make it look like the threats dealt with themselves.
She really hoped she wouldn't have to use that button though.
---
Jazz is nineteen. Her sort-of-friends at uni offer to go to a restaurant, and she tells them that she doesn't celebrate her birthdays. There's a noise of all of them saying that maybe she should try, noise that she really should have expected, because humans are always so excited about any holidays, it's hard for them to understand that someone might not like them. It's not hard to stop that noise though. They shut up very quickly when Jazz says that she had "a very traumatic event" on her birthday.
Good. She doesn't like loud people.
Jazz goes home to her little brother. He's sad because his parents died in an awful explosion a year ago. He's still trying to smile because it's also her birthday, and Jazz is very happy that he's bad at faking a smile.
It means that he won't end up like her.
Jazz hugs her little brother, and he gives her a little present that she adores, and then they sit in silence and eat some takeout. It's very nice.
She never tells Danny that their parents died before the explosion, and that the explosion wasn't an accident, and that their ghosts did form after that because of all the ecto-contamination they had, but she made sure this wouldn't become a problem. She never tells him what she's done, because that would hurt her little brother, and she would never let anything hurt him.
Jazz will protect her little brother from anything.
#I was feeling kinda upset yesterday#and decided to make it everyone's problem#this just clawed its way out and why not put it on tumblr#it's not like many people will see it#I love when a mix of “bad parents” AU with “protective Jazz” AU turns into “Jazz kills her parents” AU#I've seen a few stories with this twist and apparently it wasn't enough for my brain#Jazz deserves to go a little crazy#also yes Jazz is liminal here because of the ecto-contamination#and she found where the ghosts of Fentons were starting to form and destroyed them#killed them twice#double double kill#protective murderous Jazz my love#make her brother upset and she will make sure you're gone *forever*#if it's not clear: the “Bad Thoughts” was her thinking “maybe I should kill my parents before they kill my brother”#and then she went and did something with the portal so that it would be one added detail and a press of a button away from exploding#in case she needs to run away from home with Danny and kill their parents#she didn't know if she would be able to kill them with her hands and not from away because it's hard both physically and psychologically#but she couldn't risk them doing something to Danny#and it was easier than she thought it would be#I've been thinking a lot about how Jazz could get interested in psychology because of her own problems#and how she definitely hides her emotions#if you see any mistakes please tell me because this is also kinda my way of learning English better#danny phantom#tw: murder#tw: death#tw: neglect#this is my first time doing this so please tell me what warnings I forgot and I will add them

I know people have a right to disregard canon for the sake of the fic or whatever but every time I see "Bad Parents Jack and Maddie Fenton" on the same fic as "Good Parent Bruce Wayne" my brain goes a little bit fuzzy
#dpxdc#one of these days I will write a whole thesis paper with sources on why the Fentons are good (or at the very least not bad) parents#i get that you need an excuse for Danny to be adopted. have you thought of things such as:#a. danny is in a different dimension#b. Danny's parents are dead or otherwise incapacitated#c. danny is being a dumb teenager and thinks he needs to run away from home when he really doesn't#d. Bruce literally doesn't need an excuse to adopt people. see Duke and Steph and Barb and some variations of Tim#I'm sure a whole thesis paper will not keep me from seeing people say that Danny and Jazz learned to dumpster dive as kids#because their parents didn't feed them#please tag your fenton bashing im begging#okay sorry for ranting I'm finished now

Down in the streets of Gotham, in the side alley next to Express Urgent Care run by one Leslie Thompkins and that was funded by the Martha Wayne Foundation was a soup kitchen.
Well...a soup kitchen of sorts. Not in any way official but if you were hungry in Crime alley you knew that the food would be safe and warm...and it was a place where *you* could be safe and warm.
Danny had left a week after his parents found out that he was Phantom, a week after he had seen their grief, the regret and pain in their eyes. The week had been spent in suspense, he knew that they needed to talk about what had happened but neither of his parents were ever able to even start bringing it up before they were sobbing.
Danny knew his parents loved him, thst his father felt soul crushing guilt, that his mother spent hours staring at herself in the mirror, as if she didn't even know who was looking back at her.
And to spare them both, Danny left.
It wasn't hard to do, not when he could turn invisible and phase through walls, a final text to Sam and Tucker to say his good byes (he knew that they would break and tell his parents where he would be going) and a particularly hard hug to leave from Jazz, Danny flew off with only a back pack.
He had traveled across the US for a few months, occasionally snagging a post card from a super store to send off home, paying only when he had the excess funds (Sam's rants about mega rich corporate billionaires let him know just which stores wouldn't miss the few bucks the cards sold for)
He had met up with Dani a few times, when she was in the country, handing him Vlads credit card and telling him to keep it (though he never did) only ever using it to book a room for a few nights at a hotel to clean himself up and sleep in a real bed.
He settled in Gotham after a while, he had briefly stayed in Faucett but that place didn't have nearly enough ecto for him to live comfortably.
Gotham on the other hand? It had everything, cops that don't question why a teen is on the streets, natural ecto up the wazoo and well...a crime rate that would dissuade his parents ever looking for him there.
He had set up a more permanent shelter in an abandoned apartment building (after chasing out the low level drug dealers that were using it) and found that he kinda liked the vibes of the place under the blatant crimes being committed in broad day light.
Sure people could see you getting mugged and look the other way, but if you were still alive and there 5 minutes later, they would come back, hand you something to clean up your now bloody nose and point out the bodega that had the best sandwiches.
It was a sense of community that Danny didn't know he had missed for the many months he traveled.
His first "cook out" wasn't even supposed to be a cook out, his apartment building was mostly wood and he didn't trust himself to not burn it down, so he came outside, setting up a portable stove and setting up a pot filled with some, water to boil up a soup mix.
As he waited for it to come to temp, he saw the group of homeless rubbing their hands together, watching him with curiosity, though that quickly turned to hunger as the smell of the soup spilled out into the alley.
Instead of turning the others away Danny only shrugged, pulled out his spare paper bowls and handed them out, taking a few bites first to show that it was safe to eat.
What followed was a sort of tradition, Danny would come out a few times a day, take out his hot plate and pot and set up a soup, others started asking if they could pitch in, and well...Danny would have loved to keep providing it freely but his food was quickly dwindling.
So his soup got add in, some jerky that Crazy Tom had got tossed in, a few herbs (re:weeds) were added in by Miss O'Connor, and Danny didn't even know where Lady Dimond pulled out some spices from, but he wasn't about to question the her, he had learned never to question where the working girls hid their things.
And it sort of grew from there, who ever was around came by, some came out of their way to share a meal, but it became a meeting place of sorts "Come by the Kitchen at noon, Tom got his hands on some steak! And it ain't even smells bad!"
Sure gangs tried to pull up on the meeting place, tried to intimidate the people there or coerce them into doing something...well that was until the host, some punk teen with hair darker than black and blue eyes that were so light they were white came up, and dished out a heavy handed fist into their jaws and sent them packing.
And so the Kitchen became a safe space, if you were hungry, if you were in danger, come by the little alley way, right next to the Express Urgent Care, the Host will take care of you there, if your willing to share, to stay peaceful with the rest of the gathered people, then you were welcome to grab a bite and relax, because the Kitchen was always safe.
---
It would be a few years since the Kitchen started, since people had brought chairs and tables, since an old grill of questionable origin was left out side it, since tarps with only a few holes were hung up to keep the place dry when it rained, since rugs covered the ground and the the alley it was in was swept clean of any needles or cigarette butts.
But for one boy it had only been a few short days since his Mama died, since he had found her cold and dead in the bathroom, a belt tied around her arm and a needle still in her hand.
Jason was miserable, he had stayed with her for the a single day before he knew he would have to leave, the body of his mother would start to decompose soon, so he did what he had too, calling the police with his mother's phone that didn't have a lot of minutes left on it, telling them the address before hanging up and leaving it there so he couldn't be tracked.
He couldn't be there when the cops showed up, foster care would do shit for him, and at least his Mama would be buried, and not left to rot in their bath tub.
So a young Jason Todd, scared, alone and hungry came to the Kitchen, as his mother had told him to many times before, had told him to seek out it's Host if anything ever happened to her...and well...at the very least he would get something to eat...

Dead on Main time travel with a mom Danny twist.
Jason calls in a favor from someone on the justice league dark team for help with a case that got magical. the person sends him Danny. it goes well. they're both working very professionally. something happens and they end up back in time in their younger bodies.
Both of them are in the same city that they were working the case on. They are far away from home but Jason is 15 a few months before he finds out about his bio mom and Danny at this time is incubating Dan and Ellie's cores.
Neither of them quite realize the repercussions of what's Happening. The two of them team up to try and get back home. What the two of them don't realize is Danny's friends and family have no idea where he is though they are less worried than the bat family who fully believe Jason is kidnapped.
The two of them go on adventure trying to dodge any local heroes or villains. Eventually the two of them are able to get into contact with Clockwork and Clockwork tells them that they have altered this timeline too much for them to go back.
The two of them angst about that until they have to get forced out of that because they run into a local hero. I want to say one of the Titans that work with Nightwing because then they recognize Jason but have no reason to know that he's missing.
the two of them then realize that because they're in their younger bodies everyone has no idea where they are. This is when Danny realizes that at that age he is incubating Dan and Ellie which makes him try to split off from Jason.
As Danny's trying to figure out a way to tell Jason what's going on Jason realizes that Danny is getting really sick or at least he thinks is really sick. He's getting tired more easily than before and keeps throwing up. Jason originally thought it was due to stress of the situation but it becomes more and more clear that it is not. They end up having a confrontation which leads to Danny telling him that they are basically pregnant.
Jason tells Danny that they are not leaving them, especially not after everything that happened. The two of them decide together where to go. The two of them end up deciding the only places that they can go are Amity park or Gotham because of the ambient ectoplasm.
They can go to Amity Park except last time Danny was there it was a bad Fenton parents reveal which led to both Dan and Ellie dead with jazz wheelchair bound as well as Sam and Tucker in comas.
Or
they could go to Gotham except Jason is probably presumed missing. Having Wayne and bat family connection is probably best for them except for Jason having a falling out in the last timeline as well as knowing that he is supposed to be dead in a few weeks. Jason knows that his death is a major turning point for his family as well as many other things in the timeline.

Danny Is An Alternate Version Of Ra's Al Ghul And Flash Already Called Dibs On Adopting Him
Danny In All His Sleep Deprived Slightly Scuffed Up From A Fight Glory Is On His Way To Clockworks Tower To Hopefully Get A Nap And Maybe Some Homework Done When A Natural Portal Opens Up In Front Of Him And Proceeds To Unceremoniously Drop Him In The DC Verse Just Outside Of Central City Before Promptly Closing Leaving A Tired Danny Behind In A Run Down Abandoned Parking Lot.
It's Times Like This When Danny Regrets Putting Off Learning How To Make His Own Portals, Cause Now He Is Very Much Stuck For The Foreseeable Future And He Has No Idea Where Or When He Is. Luckily For Him However Central City Isn't Too Far Away, Unlucky For Him However Is That Once In The City He Realizes This Isn't His Dimension. He's Pretty Sure He'd Remember Something Called The Justice League.
So What Do You Do When Supernatural Bullshit Fails You? You Fall Back On Your Mad Scientist Roots And You Make A Portal Gun. So That's Exactly What Danny Plans To Do.
Unfortunately Staying Alive And Building Questionably Safe Portal Technology Requires Money And Supplies, So He Ends Up Wandering From City To City Doing Odd Jobs/Fixing Up Busted Tech For Cash Or Unwanted Electronics For His "Operation: Get Home" Needs. This Obviously Ends In A Few Superhero Encounter Shenanigans.
Though He Always Ends Up Back Near Central City, Both On The Off Chance The Natural Portal Will Open Up Again And Because Out Of All The Superheroes That Apparently Exist In This Universe The Speedsters Are His Favorite (Red Robin Is Solidly His Second Favorite Ever Since The Gotham Vigilante Gave Him A Large Coffee Filled With Enough Caffeine To Kill A Man).
Unbeknownst To Danny However Is That Every Hero/Vigilante He Has Encountered Has Come To At Least One Of The Following Conclusions; 1. Run Away Meta Who Is In Desperate Need Of A Good Meal/Adoption Bait. 2. Possibly Red Robin/Tim Drake Clone 3. A Good Kid But Could Possibly Be A Future Rouge If Left Unsupervised. 4. Did Bats Get A New Kid And Why Is He Here?
All Flash Knows Is That He Saw The Kid First And Therefore Has Dibs. Suck It Bruce.
Fast-forward A Few Months And Danny Gets Hurt During A Rogue Attack While Trying To Help Some Civilians Get To Safety (Old Hero Habits Die Hard (Ha Die Hard) And All That Jazz) And He Nopes Out Once Everyone Is Safe And When The Paramedics Are Busy With Other People Unaware He Left A Blood Sample Behind.
One DNA Test Brought To You By Paranoid Bat Concerns Of A Possible Red Robin Clone Later And They Find Out That Dannys DNA Matches One Ra's Al Ghul.
They Now Think Danny Is An Escaped Ra's Al Ghul Clone.
Memes For The Vibes:

So the GIW situation has gotten out of hand (when has it not lol) and the gangs decides to split.
Danny Sam and Tucker (24) all go to Central city, Jazz (26) and Valerie (24) end up in Gotham.
And Dani (22) ends up in Fawcett. The magic in the air (literally) helps keep her stable and the Ghost of Fawcett Present absolutely adores her.
Billy Barton just turned 10 and for his birthday present he caught by social services and sent to a foster home.
Usually he would just run away, but his foster mom, Dani, seems… off.
So he stays, thinking he could just sneak away to become Captain Marvel.
Dani seems to have eyes on the back of head, calling his name whenever he thinks he can sneak away to transform.
Eventually, she figures it out and offers to train him. Billy is many things, but trained is not one of them.
Captain Marvel efficiency is glaringly obvious to anyone, who leads to a lots of speculation about who is training him.
Whenever the League asks, he just said his mom taught him.
One day, when Billy is 13 or so, the Justice needs help from the High Royalty of the Ghost Zone.
So why summon Dani, as princess.
Dani looks a bit older as Princess, but still powerful.
But as soon as she appears into the rook Captain Marvel immediately grins and says ‘hi mom!!’
Pandemonium. Complete and utterly pandemonium.
Bonus point if Captain Marvel and Billy slowly become more and. More liminal because they are around Dani a lot. So Billy with Fangs and green eyes. Batman almost went insane trying to find out how
Bonus bonus other path this could take is Billy’s identity gets found out and the JL tells him to call his mom so they could speak with her
Dani arrives (it would be hilarious if she arrived as the ghost princess)

Walker-Wilson Family
DP x DC Prompt
Slade is the older brother to Maddie and Alicia. After their mother left their father, Slade had to stay with their father while their mother was able to keep Maddie and Alicia.
Slade wanted to find his sister's, but like in Canon, he couldn't afford to run away from their abusive father. He enlisted not only to escape their father but to hopefully be strong enough to protect his sister's.
After Slade's service, he eventually found his younger sisters after his marriage with Adeline. Soon, Grant and Jazz were born, both growing up as pseudo siblings. Then Danny and Joseph were next a few years later, and after Slade volunteered for the experimental ACTH procedure.
During the camping trip Slade had with his sons, instead of being stranded because Grant refused to sleep outside, the Fentons had camped with them, allowing the Wilson's to get home safely before Slade's next contract had come.
Another change is that Slade teaches his sons and his niece and nephew some of his fighting moves at the request of Maddie. Not long later is when Danny became a Halfa.
A couple of months later, Slade overheard Danny talking about Vlad to Sam and Tucker. This is where Slade learns that Danny is Phantom. And with the new Fenton brand equipment he got from his sister and brother in law, he's going to show Vlad that his family is not one to mess with.
A few days later, a Fenton Thermos sits in Danny's room, where a certain Fruitloops voice is heard within it. A (forged) will was found in Vlad's Mansion, stating that all his assets will go to his dear friends children, Jasmine and Daniel Fenton.
Slade is currently in Gotham, about to challenge Bruce to another battle. Except he finds his nephew, severely bleeding from an autopsy wound on his chest. Batman will have to wait. His nephew comes first before his wants.

Red Parent Hood
I love the AU's where Red Hood adopts a (for some reason or the other) de-aged Danny and slowly starts to get his shit together with the help of a baby Danny calming his pit rage so I wager you this.
Tonight something was off in Lady Gotham- shadows stretched out abnormally longer and seemed to sway along to the sharp whistle of the wind, lights would flicker while alleyways seemed to distort and stretch on forever, despite the sound of wind the air was stagnant and the biting cold sent a shiver down the spine of even the most seasoned of gothamites.
It was one of those nights where even the cruelest of the rogue gallery; those who had managed to escape Arkham ofcourse, had seemed to think better of causing trouble. Henchmen and salary workers alike too had taken the hint that Lady Gotham was not in the mood and they surely were not trying to press what little luck they had in this god forsaken city.
The GIW however had not gotten the memo, their tires screeching against the asphalt as they drove down the narrows. They had finally done it. Phantom- Amity Park's greatest menace, was just within their grasp. He had gone down hard with their newest ecto-destabilizer; courtesy of Doctors Maddie and Jack Fenton.
The Menace in question was rapidly de-aging as he fled, managing all the way from Illinois only to be cornered in Gotham, New Jersey. The two day chase called for a code black, all major hands on deck and finally their victory was in sight. Sam Manson, Tucker Foley and Jazz Fenton, all in custody and questioning for harbouring this fiend are no longer able to delay the inevitable.
Danny for the life of him couldn't remember why he was running yet every time he started to slow down something pushed him forward, whispering 'not yet', telling him 'it was not the right time'. But.. He was tired, he wanted to curl up in his dad's arms and sleep. His dad's arms were always safe right? Surely they were less scary than whatever this.. was.
Rounding another corner he finally stopped, not knowing when he had gone from flying to sprinting. Vision blurred with tears he couldn't remember crying but that was not important to him at the moment as he had more pressing worries. Why couldn't he remember his Dad's face?
He knew.. He knew that his Dad was big and strong. His dad was the coolest and had black hair like his- but his hair was white? No no, focus Danny.. Big, strong, black hair and.. Kind. His dad was kind. But where was his dad? He wanted his dad!
"Kid? You good?" A heavy jerseyed accent cut through his panicked thoughts, the now toddler having not noticed his own sobbing and unstable breathing as he desperately wished for his dad. His dad who.. black hair, big, strong looking and kind, was right here. It couldn't be helped when the child barrelled into his father, hiding his face as he sobbed into his dad's leg in utter distraught. He wanted to go home now.
Jason for the life of him had no clue how to react when he had landed down in one of the many concrete back alleys of Crime Alley only to be met with some meta child sobbing their eyes out, scared out of his mind. It was his first night back in Gotham, his plans ready to come to fruition with minimal work left to be done before they could be put into action and clearly this shit was not what he was expecting tonight.
It wasn't that he didn't have the time to react when the kid ran over to clutch onto him but rather it was that he couldn't. He couldn't bring himself to when the child looked so relieved to see him… not when the child was gripping onto him like he was their last life line.
Jason didn't even really think about it before propping the tiny toddler up in his arms and gently patting their head and soothing him as if a wounded animal he was trying to not scare away. Although evidently it wasn't needed when the child immediately hid their teary face in his shoulder, sobs slowly starting to quiet down.
Out of the corner of his eyes he could see the shadows flicker as darkness converged for a moment yet as soon as he turned his attention to it- it was gone. Nothing but a quiet 'thank you' in the breeze letting him know he hadn't imagined it.
Tonight, Mother Gotham had some cleansing to do on her streets, after-all it had been so long since she had heard from her dearest, Clockwork. May the Infinite have mercy on those who drove him and his ward to such a desperate state, since she surely wouldn't.

Fucking Clowns
A Danny Phantom x DC crossover Inspired by this prompt from @greenmango-kai
Arkham
Fucking Arkham
Arkham Arkham Arkham
The insane asylum
For the insane
Of course
Of course he was in FUCKING Arkham. Because where else would he be right? Studying to be an astronaut? Hahaha fucking Nope. Maybe an engineer? Nu uh. Flying free as you like as Phantom? No fucking chance. Because he, Danny Fenton, was clinically insane.
Obviously. Obviously he was insane. Obviously because ghosts Don't exist. No. Nope. MmM. Especially not vengeful ghosts that kidnap half dead kids and try to make them kill their murderers. No, no that's crazy talk.
Hahahahahaha haaha ha shhhhhhutup shut up shut up shut up Shut Up Shut UP "SHUUUT UUUUUP" Danny screamed at the gaggle of restless ghosts that sobbed, and yelled, and laughed around him. It didn't help of course. But! Hahaha bonus though! He didn't need to worry about anyone calling the cops on the screaming crazy kid in the dorm, no, because he was already In the place the Dumb Fucking Cops put you AFTER being called on the screaming crazy kid.
Fucking Arkham.
With all the damned assholes trying to tell him he's crazy, trying to psychoanalyze him and find what horrible trauma of his past could have triggered this episode. Apparently "I died" didn't cut it here.
God Jazz would be so disappointed in him. But Jazz, well, Jazz didn't have to deal with ghosts harrassing her all the time. No, no Jazz was Nice, and Normal, and fully Alive. No, Jazz didn't have to run away from home! She gets to live with parents that actually Love her! ALL of her! They didn't even try to hunt down and exterminate her even a little!!
No, no she got to go to school and get good grades, and make lots of friends, and didn't have anyone screaming in her ear to Fucking kill the got damned psychopath Clown next door.
No. That was just Danny.
It wasn't all bad though, he'd been admitted under a threat to self risk, and if he could prove he was no longer a risk to himself he could leave. He could leave. He could leave. If he could Just get a little bit of sleep maybe he could get a hold of himself enough to leave this shithole.
Okay shithole might be an exaggeration. He'd been fortunate enough to land in The Actual Batman's pet project asylum. The place being well funded was a massive fucking understatement. The food was good, his room was private and secure, and the staff were all well trained and vetted Heavily. So when he'd (slightly manically) explained that he has a phobia of needles and being treated like a lab rat would absolutely make him spiral they had actually listened!
Insane. But like. In the unbelievable way. Like that shit is not how Real Actual insane asylums function. But apparently Batman having a vested interest really meant something.
Now if only the damn bat didn't have such a strong moral compass and had just killed the Damn clown...
Why'd it have to be clowns. Why the fuck is it always got danged creepy ass clowns. They're supposed to be funny! That's literally their entire purpose! Why then. Why. Does Danny have to keep dealing with these fucking creep shows!
They were creepy. But they weren't what Danny was afraid of. No. Nonononono. It can't be as simple as just that can it. No. Danny gets to be scared of becoming a murderer or really truly permanently losing his fucking mind. Both options were fucking terrifying actually. And he was stuck here until he figured out another option. Stuck here with all these traumatized ghosts that just won't "Shut UUUUUUUP. OKAY! Okay okayokayokayokayokay shut up and I'll listen okay? OKAY? SHUT UP. one at a time. One at a time and I'll listen. I'll hear you out okay? I'll listen. And then... And then I'll see what I can do"
Gloriously the wailing quelled to an almost bearable level as a small wavering shadow of a child stepped forward and took the first turn at recounting his passing at the hands of the man that slept on the other side of the facility.
The nurse on shift noted the usual outbursts of yelling and slammed fists that came from their newest resident had calmed over the past hour, and when checked found the child laying calmly, crying softly, and muttering to himself. They made a few more notes as the shift passed, hopeful this change was for the better and might mean some much needed rest for the boy.

One's man trash is another man's treasure
Run
Run
Run
His little legs swing as fast as he can. Escape is all his choice left. As incompetent as he is, he is very good at escaping. However, they don't need an escaper. What they need a warrior. And he is not one.
So he run. The league wishes to kill him. His grandfather Ra's sees him nothing as a lesser being. Even his mother Talia despises him. He has no one else here. He needs to be gone while they are focusing on the newest recruit.
So he run. And run. And run. He doesn't know how long has he been running. He only stops at the end of the day to sleep for an hour and drink some water. He is not a good fighter. Mainly because he isn't capable of killing. But his physical abilities are beyond what any of peers have.
He doesn't know where he is now. All he could see is towering building that pierce the sky. People in weird clothing, walking fastly along the road. And a huge fountain.
Water!
Rushing to it, he jumps straight into the water. He could feel the gazes coming at him but the feeling of the cool water is enough for him to ignore them for now.
???: Hey, you!
He turns around at the voice and sees a girl that's a little older than him standing there with her hands and her hips. English
????: Yes, you. You can't bath there. And you can't drink from that fountain.
?????: Why?
????: Because it's dirty. And it's not good. You should take a bath at home.
?????: I don't have a home.
????: What? What about parents?
?????: My mother hates me.
????: Oh! Errrm, would you like to come with us then?
?????: *Vigilant* To where?
????: To our hotel room. My mom and dad are out searching for ghost. So you can come use our shower. We even has food.
?????: No thanks. I'm not hungry *grrrrr*
????: Well, your stomach disagree. C'mon. I will make sure you eat the best food you will ever eat.
As the girl drags his wet body and clothes away, he wonders what is wrong with this girl. He will sneak out after he finish eating and showering.
?????: I'm Danyal
????:Hey Danny, I'm Jazz.
Danny: Danyal. Not Danny.
Jazz: Wasn't that what I say?
Danny: *Gives up* Whatever.
----15 years later----
Danny: Yeah, mom. I'm right in front of Gotham U right now. Ehhh, it's okay but it gives off serious haunted vibe. No. There is no ghost here. I will deal with the ghost here if there is any. I know. I will say hi to Jazz for you. Bye, mom. Love you too dad.
Danny enters Gotham U and true to Sam's rambling, it has the 70s gothic vibe to it. Sam did try to attend here too but her parents make her go to Metropolis U while Tucker goes to Star U. It is kind of weird going to class without them but it is not something he can't do.
As he opens his enters his dormitory, a figure rushes down the hall and accidentally bumps into him. Thankfully, he is fairly strong and the impact isn't strong.
The guy apologizes and immediately disappears at the end of the hallway.
Danny: Huh, what a weirdo.
After he enters the dormitory, he settles down and goes on his day.
---Wayne Manor---
Duke: You wouldn't believe what I just see at Gotham U this morning.
Steph: What?
Duke: I met a guy that look almost identical to Damian. If Damian smiles and his skin a little lighter, that would have been him.
Tim: Are you sure? We could try to do a background check on him if you want?
Duke: Nah. It's probably just a coincidence. There is no way he is somewhat related to Dami.
Tim: Daniel James Fenton. Birth of origin: unknown. 18 years old. Male. Have 2 sisters, a brother and parents. Live in small rural town. The only significant thing about them is that his sister is working at Arkham Asylum and his parents is ghost hunters.
Duke: What the fuck?! How the fuck do you know who to find out?
Tim: *Imitating Batman's voice* I'm Batman.
Duke: Whatever. See! He really does look like Damian. I'm not crazy.
Steph: No one says you are, dude. Anyway, we should show this to Damian. Maybe he knows him?
Damian: What are you all imbeciles talking about?
Tim: Hey, Dami. Look at this guy. Does he looks familiar?
Damian: *Freezes*
Steph: Uh oh. That isn't a no.
Damian: Where do you find him, Drake? Tell me!
Tim: Woah, dude. Chill. Duke bumps into him at Gotham U. He is studying there for Aerospace engineering apparently.
Damian: I need to make a call.
As Damian walks away, all of them look at each other signifying their shared thoughts. Yeah, they are not gonna leave this alone.

Importance
We do a lot of Danny leaving the league and being adopted by the Fentons but let’s switch that around.
Talia is on a mission investigating the Fenton scientists, and their research on ectoplasm—which sounds suspiciously similar to the Lazarus pits—when she comes across their young son Daniel Fenton.
Before Talia had even entered the house she watched as the scientists ran out the front door yelling something about having to go and capture a ghost. She also knows that their young daughter is currently spending the night with an aunt, and upon seeing the Fentons drive away, the door left unlocked, Talia notes, assumes that the son is with the aunt as well.
Quickly and efficiently she copies any important documents that look useful, and just as Talia is about to leave a sharp cry rings throughout the house. In a moment of weakness she turns around and goes further into the home to find the source of the crying. That is when she finds baby Daniel Fenton (like 6 months old) who had been left all alone in his nursery.
Thinking of her own son, Damian (who's around 3), she reaches out and gently begins to rock him in her arms. When given this mission Ra's had given her the order to take anything of importance she finds and this, Talia decides, is something of importance as she looks down at the boy now calm and sleeping; a tiny hand gripping onto her shirt.
Once arriving back at Nanda Parbat the first thing she does is present her father with the information she gathered, and her new son. Within the next few hours the second grandson to the Demon’s head is announced, Danyal al Ghul.
Damian absolutely adores Danyal, and takes his new role as a big brother very seriously.
Things from here continue relatively as normal with Damian (8) and Danyal (5) arriving at the manor. Danyal may not be his by blood, but Bruce welcomes the boy nonetheless. He would have done so even without Damian’s threats of violence.
A few more years pass and Damian (14) is going steady with his role as Robin, and Danyal (12) trains with his siblings but has not been allowed out yet on patrol. After a fight with Bruce and Damian about this fact, Danyal decides he’s going to look into his biological family.
Dead end after dead end Danyal eventually contacts Talia and asks her where he came from. It takes a bit of but Talia does tell him how she found him ‘abandoned’ in the home of a couple she was looking into. Their names and the sister who wasn’t there that night.
With this new information Danyal leaves a note for his family to find as he makes his way to Illonis as quickly as he can knowing that Damian, at the very least, will be right on his heels when he discovers his disappearance.
When he arrives at the Fenton house it’s quiet. He knows that his sister, Jazz, will be arriving home from school any minute now. Against his better judgement Danyal decides to enter and take a look around. This leads him to the basement standing in front of a giant machine.
The papers on the desk tell him that his bio parents are trying to build some kind of portal with their most recent attempt ending in failure.
Curiosity getting the better of him, Danyal investigates the portal. While taking a step inside the lab door slams open causing him to trip; his hand landing on a button. Bruce, Damian, and Jazz now watch on as Danyal dies right in front of them. He comes back, different now.
A few months later Bruce Wayne announces the arrival of his newest adoptive daughter, and a new vigilante known as Potoo (look it up lol, they have a nickname called “ghost birds”) is seen running around with Batman and Robin.

Can try a fic on: Dick adopting danny? Danny runs away from amity park his parents found out he is phantom and jazz told him to run.
Ooh! I can't do a full blown fic (I barely have the motivation to finish the ones I’ve started) but I can give you a one-shot?
---
Jasmine Fenton has always been a responsible young woman. That's what happens when your mildly neglectful and emotionally oblivious parents parentified you at a young age. Them’s the breaks. Anyways, Jasmine "Jazz" Fenton had raised her baby brother from, well, a baby to the scrawny teenager he is now and is therefore in the right to call herself his parent, even if it was a weight she wished her parents were adult enough to carry. Thus, it was a protective fury like no other that threaded through her vision when Jazz saw a terrified Danny hunched over himself in a way she'd not seen for a long time.
"Danny? Is everything okay?" Jazz quickly stepped inside of her room, taking in the amount of Boo-merangs laying broken and discarded on her floor. She locked the door. This was a locked door conversation, clearly.
"They found out." Danny curled up even more. His words were muffled into the tattered denim of his jeans. Jazz's body went cold as the stark red and green splotches made themselves apparent to her eyes. "They're hunting me."
Breathe. Danny needs you. Break down later. When he’s not around to watch you shatter at how his voice broke.
"Are you injured?" Danny nods meekly. It broke her heart to see him so removed from his usual and mildly ironic lively self.
She patched him up, keeping the red at the edge of her sight at bay when she catches sight of the blaster burns and the cuts.
"Good?" Danny nodded silently back. "Okay. Here's what you're gonna do."
Jazz strode over to her closet and dug out the gotta-dip bag. "Emergency escape bag. Sam saved up enough money to put a down payment and then some on an apartment in Bludhaven through cash, so you're gonna go there."
“What? Jazz, I’m not leaving you here-!”
“Danny, if you die- shut up, you know what I mean- permanently, you’ll be leaving me forever. And that’s not happening.”
Danny winced. Jazz used Pissed Off Mom Voice and it was super effective! Danny loses 50 points of bullheadedness.
“Yeah, okay.” He said weakly, in part because of the lost argument and because he also had ten different blaster scorches.
A loud thump. The siblings jolted, eyes widening in fear. Jazz’s face quickly morphed into the singular determination of getting her parents the fuck away from her baby brother.
“Go. I got this.”
Danny swallowed before grabbing Jazz in one final, desperate hug.
“PHANTOM! I KNOW YOU’RE THERE. GIVE ME MY BABY BOY BACK!”
“Mom!” Jazz shouted back, letting go of Danny and ushering him out of the window. “MOM! PHANTOM JUST FLEW TOWARDS THE TOWN CENTER!!”
“THANKS, JAZZY-PANTS!”
Once the explosive sounds of the GAV rocketed away, and Danny had disappeared into the waiting arms of Amity Park’s mystical forests, did Jasmine Fenton allow herself to sink to the ground and scream.
——
Blüdhaven wasn’t so bad. Sure, Danny’s injured to the hells and back but with the ambient ectoplasm Blud's got powering him, he's not even winded while walking home. His apartment was a bit ratty, but so was the rest of the city. At least his food’s not attacking him, and Danny learned that he’s not a bad cook. The city rats don’t even try to rob him anymore!
Really, it’s not too bad.
[Danny tried optimism. It failed critically.]
“Isn’t it too late for you to be out alone, kiddo?”
Danny whirled around, heart going straight up into the stratosphere. Which, for the halfa, was about 75 beats per minute.
“Who are you?!” Danny slid backwards, hunching in on himself to protect the injured parts of himself. He had gotten injured as Phantom, so his living form was mostly fine. It’s just being living as a scrawny 15 year old in Blüdhaven meant he had to dodge pickpockets, looters, and murderers more often than the locals did. And now, he faced his greatest evasion challenge yet, some weirdo in a sparkly blue Elvis costume. “Elvis-con was three months ago!”
The vigilante’s face, for lack of a better descriptor, smushed into a look of either great consternation or intense focus. Danny swore to himself that he wasn’t about to get offed by Bling Bling the third today. He wasn’t going down like that! Not to a the second coming of a disco ball! Sam would never let it die. Unlike how he will, if he doesn’t focus.
“I’m not impersonating Elvis!” Blue weirdo muttered.
“Of course not, you don’t have the hair.” Danny agreed, shifting back. Keep the costumed weirdo happy and Danny might get out of here safe and sound.
“Excuse you, my hair is the best-! You know what, I’m not doing this right now. I’m a whole adult.” Blue weirdo took an exaggerated breath before introducing himself, like he should have done before approaching Danny like a vaguely threatening circus performer. Danny hates the circus. “I’m the vigilante, Nightwing? You must be new to Blüdhaven.”
“How would I know if you’re a vigilante and not a villain?” Because the child dressed in brightly colored clothes and covered in blood following behind him does not inspire confidence or safety in Danny.
“Would a villain do this?!” ‘Nightwing’ flipped midair and did jazz hands. Danny crossed his arms, the movement adding much needed pressure against the ache in his chest. He levels Nightwing with an unimpressed stare.
“Yes.” Vlad did plenty of those things while trying to either adopt or murder Danny. The vigilante wilts, the ghost tearing up. and Danny tries hard not to feel guilty. He fails. Danny’s failing at things a lot lately. “I guess you get points for not trying to kidnap me, yet.”
“Really?” Nightwing grins, blinding and reflecting off of his pretty sparkly blue suit. That’s one hell of an outfit. Danny had to respect the dedication. “That’s great! So, what are you doing out here alone? Blüdhaven’s got a curfew— more like a suggestion, really, but most people follow it— and if you’re out too late, people will try to rob you!”
Personally, Danny felt like that shouldn’t have been said with a kind smile. There was something off about this guy and Danny was proven right in a few scant moments later, when a robber tries to hold Danny at gun point.
Nightwing all but flies into action, beating the absolute dogshit out of the guy. His ecrisma sticks fire up with a voltage level that raised the hairs on Danny’s neck. Was that safe for the living? Danny inched further away. “Right. You clearly have some issues to clear out on your own. I’ll… leave you to that.”
“Well, I’ll get you home safe, first.” Again, someone who sounded that nice should not be as intimidating as he is. Danny threw up his hands, hiding the wince that drew from him, and allowed the vigilante to escort him home. Even if Nightwing knows where he lives, Danny doubted he’d be able to do anything, even if the electric sticks make Danny wary.
“You live here?”
The ghost child face palms, muttering stuff about “Wing, holy shit where the fuck are your manners?!”
Honestly, Danny was feeling kind of upset too.
“Well, damn, you don’t have to be so judgmental about it. I’m trying my best, holy shit.”
——
Dick is trying his best to not lose his shit. The sparkles in his costume help him with that, reminding him there’s brightness in a world he wants to break with his bare hands. Brightness, like the kid in front of him. Danny.
The wounds were so fresh, Jason’s haunting hallucination following him so closely, that Dick had thought he was seeing another hallucination when he spied Danny from the rooftops. He was half sure he was imagining the conversation, staring at a stranger that reminded him so strongly of Jason. Clear blue eyes, black hair, and a weariness that a child shouldn’t ever have. The mugger made it clear it wasn’t fake, though, and Dick lost it.
Jason’s image overlayed with Danny’s and Dick’s big brother instinct kicked in. They kicked in, right in the mugger’s face, that is.
Great. Danny thinks he has issues. He does, of course, but… to see him wary made Dick’s heart break a little. Still…
“You live here?!” Dick shoved his foot into his mouth, shocked that Danny lived so close by, and immediately cringed at his own tone. His Jason hallucination facepalmed, telling him Alfred would kick his ass for being so thoughtless. The dirty look Danny shot him kicked his ass plenty, Dick thought, grimacing.
“Well, damn, you don’t have to be so judgmental about it. I’m trying my best, holy shit.”
“Sorry, that came out wrong.” He apologized. New plan. He was going to pull a— he grimaced again— Bruce. He was going to adopt Danny. He’ll work through the guilt later, Dick lived here and he knew how much of a shithole it was. To leave Danny alone, defenseless? Blasphemy.
Danny inched away again and Dick wilted. Why can’t he do anything right?

Just a Bite.
Master Post | Next
Danny stared out at the busy street from behind his dumpster.
or well, not his dumpster, but it might as well be his considering how many nights he's spent sitting behind it like some rabid raccoon.
Two months ago, he would have been sleeping in his own bed. His glow-in-the-dark stars vaguely lighting up his room in soft luminescent colors. The sound of Jazz snoring in her sleep just a room over, his parents still milling around in the basement.
he would have just finished fighting the box ghost and collapsed onto his bed, the sound of his home lulling him to sleep.
Oh, how things can change in a blink of an eye.
No, instead of sleeping on his bed with his cartoon ghost sheets and NASA poster covered room, he's out here in some random dirty city, sleeping behind dumpsters.
dirty, grimy, rusty dumpsters.
"did you hear?" some lady dressed in a light blue summer dress asked, turning to look at her friend as they started to walk past. "Mr. Wayne donated another lump sum to that charity." she huffed, shaking her head like she had just said the most ridiculous thing she'd ever heard.
her friend stopped in the middle of the alley opening, her graying hair splaying in an ark as she twisted to face the other women. "my word! again? what the hell is that man thinking?"
the woman huffed, then smirked in amusement. "it's like he's shouting for the world to hear how desperate he is for attention. he thinks if he donates enough money to those scoudrails they'll love him or something. With how he's acting lately, it's like he wants all the street rats to barge into his home asking for money, food, and clothes."
her friend clicked her tongue in disgust, "I'd believe it. he has so many kids now, it's like he's running an orphanage. someone, anyone really, with black hair and some tragic story could walk right in and not even be noticed. they'd blend right in with the others."
"I heard it's genetic, his father was the same way before he met Martha. Bruce's blood son, Damian I believe, acts just like his father. the boy's been spotted taking stray cats and dogs inside. It wouldn't surprise me if the paper posted about him convincing his father for another sibling at some point."
the women then turned and started to walk away, their conversation slowly bleeding into the surrounding city ruckus.
Danny leaned back, resting his head against the crumbling brick behind him.
walk right in and not be noticed? wouldn't that be grand. He had heard of Mr. wayne and his gaggle of black-haired children. What were their names again? he could have sworn Sam told him before, in one of her rants about rich society.
Richard Grayson was the first, Danny remembered because Tucker had been making none stop dick jokes for a few hours. Danny didn't understand why the man would willingly go by Dick, but then again, who was he to question someone's name when he fights ghosts like Skulker and Technis on a daily basis?
Next was... Jason? Sam had mentioned there was a whole conspiracy theory of how his death was a cover-up. how all the unsolved crime community swore it was Bruce who killed the kid, that or the kid had some terminal illness that Bruce didn't want the media to know about.
thennnnnn-
Danny glanced around, trying to dig through his memories of Sam's rant. Dick: the orphaned circus act taken in the night his parents died. he's romanie? maybe, Danny wasn't too sure on that one. Jason: taken off the streets, one of his parents was out of the picture and the other one died of a drug overdose.
and then there was..... Tim! Right, Tim, the one who was Mr. Wayne's neighbor before his mother died and his dad went into a coma, then died later on. right, right. he was the known tech genius, the one who took over the company while Mr. Wayne stepped back for a while.
there were others? like, four others? Damian, the lady said he was the blood son sooo, that would imply he was the only bio kid.
who else was there? hmmmm.
well, either way, Danny's tired brain agreed with the women. someone, anyone, who looked vaguely like the other kids could walk right into the house and no one would notice.
it was a bad idea. a terrible one really. but. Danny was hungry.
he's been sleeping behind dumpsters for a few weeks now, he hadn't had anything good to eat in forever, and he was tired. (not as exhausted as he was back home, but still tired. who would have guessed he'd sleep more while homeless?)
he wasn't going to steal from people, his core wouldn't allow him to. and well, he's pretty sure Dan would have stolen already, so there was no way Danny was going to. not unless his life was at risk, and well? it wasn't right now, so no stealing.
but this? walking right into a house and blatantly taking food? right in front of them?
it wouldn't be stealing if he just flat-out didn't try to hide it. they'd be able to stop him and send him away. heck, he doubted he'd even make it past the front gate before they turned him away.
...
was he really going to do this?
...
yes, yes he was.
standing up, Danny started making his way out of the alleyway and over to the tall building with Wayne's name on it. It was a good place to start, maybe he could even find one of the kids and walk with them. or, even better, he could find Mr. Wayne and walk with him. he liked that better than following some kid around.
suddenly, a car honked right next to him, the window rolling down to reveal a tired and disheveled man behind the wheel. glancing up, Danny made eye contact with the taxi driver.
the man yawned and gestured for him to get in, already speaking before Danny could decline. "Mr. Wayne! Your father," yawn, "Father already paid for me to take you home. just hop in."
Danny blinked then glanced around, looking to see if the Wayne the man was talking about was around. nope. turning back, Danny spotted a green sticky note on the back seat.
well, alright then. guess he was getting into the taxi and doing this after all. Clockwork obviously approved if he messed with the timing of things.

Part 3
Danny realized, just as dawn was lighting up the world around him, that he knew almost nothing about the world outside of the USA. Even Canada and Mexico were barely footnotes outside of a chapter or two throughout all of his schooling! So, he landed just as a city came into view, let himself warmup with the release of his ghostly transformation, and pulled out his phone to figure out where the hell he was.
With barely any reception, Danny found himself to be just outside Monterrey, Mexico.
"Monterrey, Mexico, the capitol city of Nuevo León, boasts a sprawling business and industrial center. Spanning 125.3 square miles (324.8 squared kilometers), the city is home to ~5,341,177 people. The city is just over 428 years old, having been founded in the 16th century. Notable places to visit, such as Palacio del Obispado (1787-88), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (2001), Faro de Comercio (1984) are recommended visits for people new to the city."
Sometimes Google was useful.
It was early morning, but the streets were already coming to life with music and voices. Suddenly, the tiny little world Danny'd been trapped in his whole life seemed so dim.
Everything was more beautiful than he'd ever noticed before. Brighter, more colorful, more musical.
Was this what Dani saw every time she left Amity? Was this how she always saw the world? He could see the appeal.
The brand new sights and smells and sounds overwhelmed him as the sun rose higher in the sky, but he couldn't find it in himself to care. It was almost the same kind of overwhelming feeling he got when he thought about space; good and begging for him to feed it.
He walked on, passing hundreds of people all speaking a language he didn't know-
Ah. He'd better pick up on it fast. It'd be rude to demand they speak his language in their home, right?
He pulled out his phone and took a quick selfie to send to Jazz, unable to stop his grin.
"It's so colorful," he told her, "I can see why Dani likes it so much out here."
She didn't respond, but he didn't expect her to. Not for a while, at least.
He texted Dani next. The same picture, though all he said was "Monterrey, Mexico."
Dani answered before he could even put his phone back in his bag. She, too, had send a selfie captioned, "Cobán, Guatemala, bitch!"
He laughed.
There was a chuckle behind him. "Un turista, ¿no?"
He turned around, suddenly re-kicking himself for not taking Spanish in school. Putting on his most apologetic expression, he said, "I'm sorry, I don't-"
The person laughed, wiping a fake tear from their eye. "Don't worry about it," they said in heavily accented English, "You're a long way from home."
He nodded. "A bit, yeah."
"You're not from a big city, are you?" It wasn't a question.
"How'd you know?"
"Stopping in the middle of the street is a good way to get jumped in any city, mi amigo." Danny shifted into a defensive stance, wary of the stranger. They laughed again. "Don't worry about me, I won't hurt you." He didn't believe them. they stuck their hand out. "Me llamo Alejandro."
He relaxed minutely. "Danny."
"Short for Daniel?"
"Just Danny."
They backed up some, their hands up. "I get it, man. What brings you to mi hermosa ciudad?"
"My reasons are my own."
"A fugitivo, got it."
"I'm not-"
"Relax! I'm not gonna turn you in. That's too much work. Besides, I know lots 'a guys like you. Not many stay in the city, but a lot of 'em start out here."
"Really?"
"More than you'd think."
Danny hummed. Then, he had an idea. "Could you teach me Spanish?"
Alejandro raised an eyebrow. "What happened to not trusting me?"
He blushed just a little and looked away, "Well, I don't want to not be able to understand anyone while I'm here, and you seem pretty friendly."
Alejandro shook their head with a smirk. "Way too trusting. Sure, I'll teach you, come on."
Danny followed after them, weaving between people and not running into a single person. Alejandro was all skill while Danny used a bit of intangibility.
Instead of taking him somewhere they could teach and learn in peace, as Danny had expected, Alejandro lead him through the city, giving a detailed tour of everything in the way only a local who loved their city more than anything could do. They knew every part of the city, every person seemed to know them, though they didn't so much as exchange a wave. A few kids stopped them and they played basketball in a park for a while before moving on.
Eventually, the day had to come to an end. As the sun was setting over the mountains, Alejandro lead Danny to a group of houses just on the playground, a bit more rundown with use.
"It's refreshing to see someone so full of childlike wonder when I show them mi hogar for the first time," they said, "Don't ever lose that, okay? Don't let anyone ever take that away from you, okay?"
There was a desperation in their tone, hidden, but loud enough to speak volumes of something that Danny wasn't privileged to know about. "Okay."
They sighed like something heavy had been lifted off their shoulders. "Good, good." They straightened up. "Now, for your Spanish lesson. By the time I'm done with you, you'll be speaking like it's your first language!"
The gleam in their eye reminded Danny of Sam when she was gearing up to explain the current activist page she was deep-diving; of Tucker when he was explaining the newest upgrade to his PDA; of Jazz when she was psychoanalyzing everyone in sight. It made him homesick.
He promised to have the language perfected before he left this city.

A Man has Needs part 5
First | Masterpost Ship: Dead on Main (Danny/Jason) Fandom DP x DC Summary:
In which Jason keeps up ending up in Danny's bed and not even for any fun reasons.
With the comfortingly normal sounds of the coffeemaker huffing and puffing, Danny felt just a bit calmer. Surely things would be okay. What was a little boner between friends?
Were they friends? Danny liked to think they were, of a sorts. They were certainly friend-ly? And while his guest wasn’t the most verbose, Danny thought he enjoyed their time together? The thought niggled in the back of Danny’s mind that aside from that one disastrous time his guest had come to talk in the afternoon, they never saw each other outside the mornings after. But that was fine! The whole situation was kind of mortifying when you thought about it, which is why Danny tried not to think about it.
His guest couldn’t help his dysregulated ecto-metabolism. Until that was fixed this would keep happening, so Danny had tried to make the best of it - would keep trying to make the best of it.
Surely things would be okay, Danny repeated internally for the umpteenth time, as the coffee finished. He took out their mugs with a deep calming breath. If they could shoulder past the whole accidental bedmate sitch, surely this was just a little thing. A blip.
He heard movement in the bedroom, any moment now his guest would come out, and Danny would have to make sure everything felt normal. He forced an optimistic smile on his face as he started to pour the coffee. It would be fine in a moment, he just had to work through the initial awkwardness and everything could go back to normal.
There was the low squeak and thump of the window opening and closing.
Danny’s smile felt petrified on his face; he didn’t have to check to know his guest had left. He could feel it.
Slowly, carefully, he set the coffee pot down on the counter.
Danny’s shoulders fell in defeat. A ball of lead settled heavy into his chest. Somehow, he had not even considered that option.
Oo o oO
Fuck, he had ruined everything, Jason thought as he tumbled through his own bathroom window. Why didn’t he just go home yesterday? Why had he been so fucking weak!?
He longed to go back, to try to explain himself, to do anything but run away. But he couldn’t face Danny now, not after taking advantage like a creep.
Oo o oO
It was a whole four days later until Danny awoke once again in the arms of his sleeping guest. Clenching his eyes tightly shut he rolled intangibly out of the embrace. The ball of lead had migrated to his stomach, and Danny tiredly rubbed his face.
A cautious sort of hope lifted the weight slightly when his guest was still sleeping once Danny had dressed. Things seemed more normal today. Danny padded into the main living space. Automatically he got the coffee going then pulled out the carton of eggs and a pan.
He halted, one egg in hand, when he heard movement from the bedroom. He couldn’t help holding his breath as the seconds crawled along.
One minute…
One minute thirty-
The window opened and closed.
Danny’s breath left him in a punched out whoosh. He put the egg back in the carton and back in the fridge. He wasn’t that hungry anymore.
It was the herald of a new depressing normal.
Oo o oO
November turned to December. The leftover snow from one of Mr. Freeze’s attacks brought much happiness to children across Gotham and much aggravation to the adults who had to drive in it. The Holiday cheer, which had been negligible and relatively easy to ignore in November, had turned aggressive by the coming of December and now by mid December Danny was well and truly done with it.
His calls home were underscored by his parents’ age old Santa argument and he’d resolved not to answer any calls until January. It went without saying he was not going home for Christmas, which his parents’ somehow hadn’t understood why. It didn’t help that Jazz, Sam and Tucker were bothering him to come home for the Holidays as well, and they should fucking know!
His regular bus had been cancelled due to the weather, and he had quite a few more blocks than normal to walk. He trudged glumly along, trying to ignore the squelching of his wet shoes. Sneakers really weren’t for snow sludge weather, and his worn and beaten pair even less so. It was lucky that growing into his ice powers had come with a level of resistance to the cold.
Danny reared away from a donation box suddenly showed in his face, and resisted the strong urge to just go invisible and fly away. He just wanted to get an overly sugary coffee concoction and go home to study for his Finals without being accosted by jingle bells and unsolicited singing, was that too much to ask?
Finally, Danny’s local coffee shop was in view.
Unconsciously, he walked faster. He just wanted to get home already.
It was just Danny’s luck that just as he reached the door someone walked out - someone more solid than Danny. His breath was punched out with an oof as his kinetic energy got turned right around, converted into potential energy and landed him flat on his ass in the sludge.
This really was just Danny’s luck. It was December. December was always a bad month. Danny could handle that, but then the person spoke-
“Oh shit, I’m so- Danny?”
Danny knew that voice. He didn’t even have to look up to know it was his guest who hadn’t spoken to him in a month, stealing away like a thief in the mornings. Yet, he looked up anyways. There stood his guest handsome as ever, with a fluffy looking red scarf and a matching unevenly knitted beanie that spoke to someone having made it for him. His guest, who apparently knew his name, and who was flanked by two other shocked, unfairly attractive guys.
“Oh!” The older guy, who looked like he’d just exited a hair commercial for luscious wavy locks, exclaimed. His lips split into a blindingly white smile as he grabbed excitedly on to Danny’s stunned guest in a very familiar way. “You know each other? A friend Jaybird?”
“Uh,” Jaybird responded looking from Danny to commercial guy in a flustered panic and it was that more than anything that made Danny snap.
Danny had been angry at himself that he’d ruined things, that he’d made his guest so uncomfortable he’d rather leave than exchange a single word with him. He’d been devastated, and lonely knowing how things had been and what they had become, the potential loss of a friend who was also ghostly was especially hard to swallow. And now his guest couldn’t even give a little white lie to save Danny’s dignity. Was it that hard just to say yes?
“No,” Danny said getting up, batting the hand away reaching suddenly to help him and giving him a glare for good measure. “We just sleep together.”
Commercial guy spat out the coffee he’d just drunk, coughing and sputtering and the second guy started pounding him on the back. Danny flashed his teeth vindictively, turned and started the final trek home.
Even a sugary caffeine concoction could not save this fucking day.
-
I meant to post this in the weekend as a pick me up for my very busy 7 day work week, but alas the 7 day work week kicked my ass and I didn't get around to posting.
In wonderful news I'm gonna see a friend today. I'm very tired but very happy.
Tell me what you thought? Aren't they just amazing at not talking with each other? XD
(you can subscribe to the fic at the masterpost)

DC xDP Fanfi idea: The End and Beginning
It starts off simple. The Fentons move to a new universe once the AntiEcto-Acts are accepted worldwide. It was a problem when the USA enacted the laws, but convincing the rest of the world to follow suit left a bitter taste in their mouths.
It also made them feel highly useless.
Their youngest was a half-ghost, and after meeting the clone and alternative counterpart of said son, the Fentons family now were half of what the Acts claimed had no soul.
They could fight against the country and escape into the dead of night, but there was nowhere to hide when the whole planet hunted them. Unless you had a portal that could send you far away from the government dogs.
This was good because said dogs had managed to build their own portal. Nothing with Fenton Works tech, but it didn't seem to matter. They had a way into the Infinite Realms and planned on sending bombs through to vanquish the ghosts once and for all.
Clockwork had warned the planet's governing units, appearing in their skies and speaking every language.
"If you do this, then your world will end. Your world is a flip of ours. Without one or the other, everything will be destroyed."
His warning only further fueled their hate, and mods flooded the streets chanting for the bombs to be set off. It was like the whole world had lost their minds.
The Fentons cowered in their homes, trying desperately to get people to listen, but their words fell on deaf ears. Clockwork's reputation puts him in a challenging position. His natural dedication needed to remain neutral in any situation, but his soft spot for Danny made it hard to allow time to run its course.
In the end, he appeared before the Fentons with a message. "You must leave this world in one week. Everything will come to an end."
His warning had the group moving. They reached out to all their friends and extended family. Begging them to flee with them. Only Sam and Tucker arrived at their house on the last day, eyes puffy red, bags packed, and a daunting lack of their parents.
Clockwork sent them a ship. It looked like a glowing cruise ship, with wooden planks creaking and groaning as they climbed aboard. They were to pick a room and take shelter, understanding that once they sealed the door, they could not reopen it until they arrived.
The ship would travel at alarming speeds, protected from their timeline with Clockwork's power, but it would take everything the ghost had to keep them safe.
The final moment came, with the seven people pilling together in the largest room- The VIP balcony cabin. Sam, Tucker, and Danny held each other while sitting in front of the glass windows overlooking the fleeing ghosts- their world was also ending.
Maddie, Jack, Jazz, and Dani were in a pile on the bed, eyes shut tight and hugging each other with all their might. Tears rolled down their faces, but no one called it out. They were all mourning.
Dan stood to the side, arms crossed over his chest and leaning on the door. Despite not saying it out loud, they knew he wanted to guard it in case a ghost figured out the cruise was an escape pod. If a desperate enough ghost attempted to break through the door, their deal with Clockwork would be voided, and Dan would never allow it.
The moment came without warning. Multiple portals ripped open among the green skies. Through them, the Fentons could see cheering humans, treating the bombings like a giant festival. Fireworks, waving banners, music that thumped with glee- it made them all sick.
The first three bombs were set off. The Realms' reaction was just as instant, collapsing into itself as the humans' joys reached new levels of glee- until the holes warped into black holes, swallowing up the portal and the area around it.
One right after the other. Large glowing lights, then swirling darkness yanking everything into a quick, meaningless nothing. The humans were no longer cheering- now they were screaming. They were cowering.
But there was nowhere left to run.
Clockwork appeared in front of the trio, smiling sadly at them as multiple cracks appeared on his being. He mouths a sentence, placing one broken hand on the glass, and then pushes the ship away. At a speed that is more light than movement, the Fentons and their guests rush away, watching with horrified eyes as Clockwork breaks apart completely.
He vanishes into dust that gets absorbed into a black hole. Dan and Danny's noise is gutted, ripped from somewhere deep in their cores.
The cruise crumbles around the pressure of the push. Wooden pieces are shaken off the ship, shattering from the effort to keep itself together, and fall into the void as they watch, unsure of Clockwork's power, which would be enough to withstand the breaking of a timeline. Soon, only their room remains; even that, it starts to show glowing green cracks on the wall.
Dan glares at them, never hating something as much as the sight of them, while his family and kid brother's friends start to sob. Suddenly, everything comes to a stop.
Or rather, a large being made entirely of light, taking the shape of a human man, catches their cabin. They all stumble, thrown from their positions as the glowing white human shape brings them to its large face. It's like looking into a marble statute with no distinctive face, only the barest of outlines that could count as a face.
"You bear Clockwork's mark, but he is not with you," The being says, blinking its large eye into the window. The swirling red of its pupils baths the humans and ghosts as they stare back open jaws. "How curious"
"Who are you!?" Dan demands, stepping away from the door. "How did you survive the destruction of the timeline?!"
The being eye's dim. "Clockwork is dead then. I told him I would welcome him into my realms, but he chose to send his kin instead. What a sentimental fool."
Dan's human features melt away, and his ghost forms burst from an explosion of flames. "Who are you!?"
"Your kind calls me Speed Force." It replies after a movement, sounding slightly amused, "And I grant you sanctuary as a favor to an old lover. Live well."
With a snap of its fingers, the group vanishes into a bright light, appearing in the middle of a blue sky. Gentle clouds float around, spread out like a mist. It a daunting change from the darkness and the screams.
The group gawks at the sight before gravity reaches up to grasp the broken remains of the cruise ship within its claws. It rips from them the sky, sending them into a downward spiral.
Dan's flames are smothered out as he desperately reaches for it "I can't go, ghost!"
"Me either," Dani screams, clinging hard to Maddie.
"Speed Froce took our powers." Danny realizes, clutching Sam and Tucker closer. "Everyone brace for impact!"
They hit the ground hard and flung around like rag dolls as the last of Clockwork's powers desperately tried to shield them. The glowing green cracks quickly spread until they resemble spider webs.
They hit the ground with a loud bang, sliding through a few layers of dirt. The group is flung against the wall, Dan grunting in pain when Sam slams against him from the force.
Ultimately, the wood can't hold itself together, and it shatters just as it crumbles to a stop. They all land with pain and cries against the hard ground, in a pile of limbs and confusion.
"Oh my," A woman says, standing on her porch overlooking the Fentons. Beside her is a wide-eyed man, one steaming mug in his hold. "Pa, I think I need to put more coffee. We have guests."
Above the couple is a wooden sign with faded but beloved letters. It reads Kent Farm.
