Found this update about Sabrina/Romania and the floor final on reddit. I do like the stipulation that Jordan will keep her medal, but I'm worried about setting a precedent for allowing scores for routines from competitions that are already over? (Even though in my heart I truly feel that Sabrina should have been the one on the podium to begin with, especially with that bogus neutral deduction that nobody can explain). This feels like this is only happening because Nadia fucking Comaneci is advocating for it, and I'm not sure I like the precedent of legends of the sport throwing their weight around to influence the FIG either (especially with what we know is going on with FRG with Catalina Ponor and Daniela Silivas harassing Ana and her coaches). Like imagine if the Karolyis had the ability to throw their weight around with the FIG while they were still active? Or if in the future Simone or Khorkina or Boginskaya could just step in and protest a score for an athlete. Plenty of people have also already talked about how Jordan's first individual Olympic medal (an incredible accomplishment!!) is so controversial and how awful the situation is for her and Ana, but all of that still stands.... what an absolute shitshow

“This is mad random but the 1988 Romanian Team compulsory pianist deserves some recognition for being the only team pianist in Seoul to not rush through the music. Instead they took the their time and slowed down each phrase, especially the scalic passages, so that the gymnasts could hit all of the accents and flow with the music. This is one of the reasons that made Silivas’ compulsory floor the best at that games, in contrast to the Soviet compulsory floor routines which sadly felt a bit rushed.”

More Than a Few of My Favorite Things (Part 1): Daniela Silivas
Daniela Silivas won 3 Gold medals (FX, BB, UB), 2 Silver medals (AA, TF), and 1 Bronze medal (VT) at the 1988 Olympics, where she represented Romania. She medaled in every event, which hasn't happened at an Olympic games since then (though it had been done by others before her). She is also a 7x World Gold medalist, 2x World Silver medalist, and 1x World Bronze medalist.

Countdown to the Olympics: 56 days (8 weeks)
Daniela Silivaș of Romania competes at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, where she won three out of four gold medals in the event finals. Although she missed getting a clean sweep after 'only' placing 3rd on vault– she was the only gymnast, male or female, to medal in every single event (including AA and TF) at the 1988 Olympics. This performance mirrors Simone Biles in Rio 2016, who also got three golds and a bronze in event finals. She also equaled Nadia Comăneci's record of seven perfect 10 scores in a single Olympic Games.
