Every shoot is an exploration and an experiment. You never know exactly what the final result will be. It’s like painting with a brush, but instead of paint, you use light, movement, and time. ICM and multiple exposure photography allow me to discover something new each time, which is where the magic of these techniques lies.

I believe that photography is not only about what you see but also about what you feel. And that’s the essence I strive to convey in every shot. Through ICM and multiple exposures, I’ve found a way to express my emotions and reveal new facets of the world to myself and my viewers. It’s a unique and thrilling genre that offers me creative freedom and inspiration every day.

©BTEA Das Königreich Bahrain im Arabischen Golf lockt mit warmen Temperaturen und vielseitigen Events inmitten der beeindruckenden Skyline der Hauptstadt Manama. Neben Konzerten und Tanz-Shows wird ein großes Feuerwerk im Avenues-Park die Besucher verzaubern. Tagsüber Sonne und Strand, abends angenehme Temperaturen um die 20 Grad: So sieht der Jahreswechsel im Königreich aus. Der Inselstaat im Arabischen Golf lockt auch in diesem Jahr zu Silvester mit verschiedenen Musik- und Tanz-Events und einem öffentlichen Feuerwerk der Superlative. Am Silvesterabend finden auf dem Gelände der „The Avenues“ am Rande der Bahrain Bay in Manama zahlreiche Musik-Liveacts und Tanzveranstaltungen statt. The Avenues ist ein direkt am Wasser gelegenes Einkaufszentrum mit Blick auf die beeindruckende Skyline. Auf die Außenfassade des markanten, H-förmigen Four Seasons Hotels gegenüber der Avenues, wird der Countdown zum Jahreswechsel 2020 projiziert. Das Showprogramm startet um 20:30 Uhr mit einem Konzert der Band Majaz, einer Fusion-Folk-Gruppe aus Bahrain, und der Dance of Color-Show, einem farbenfrohen Stelzentanz inmitten des Publikums. Ab 22 Uhr wird mit einer atemberaubenden Tanzaufführung in der Luft das Ende des Jahres 2019 eingeläutet. Die Akrobaten und Tänzer des Tanzensembles SONIC verzaubern das Publikum mit traumhaften Kostümen und akrobatischen Höchstleistungen.

©BTEA Die Feierlichkeiten werden mit einer Visual DJ Performance von zwei britischen Künstlern und einer synchronisierten Lichtshow abgeschlossen, welche die perfekte Atmosphäre für das große Finale der Silvesterfeier schafft. Das Highlight des Silvsterabends ist das Feuerwerk der Superlative, das Punkt Mitternacht in der Bahrain Bay vom Wasser aus gezündet wird und die Skyline der Hauptstadt in einen Farbenzauber hüllt. Von den direkt am Meer gelegenen Terrassen der Avenues hat man einen beeindruckenden Blick auf das Lichtspektakel. Colors and forms playing with light.

I always got amazed by colors, and forms. Just like a kid on a playground. The relation with the light and the shadow is like hide and seek. They follow each other, trying to catch but never will. 

My project is to create a playground. A playground that forms and colors plays with light. They try to catch the light of sun, sunrise or sunset. While they are playing their hide and seek, they give us a visual spectacle. A peaceful place you can lay down inside or maybe even outside of micro architecture and watch their delightful game for hours without rushing the time. The time is only up when the sun is down, but don't be sad, as long as the sun will rise, the game will go on..

Mystic Grove

This photograph was taken in autumn in the forest near where I live. I had passed this spot many times before, but it was only on this particular day that I truly noticed the light and the potential of the scene. The sun filtered through the leaves at an angle that transformed the ordinary into something extraordinary. The trees stood tall and majestic, almost like ancient paintings imbued with history and spirit. In that moment, I knew I had to capture it.

My main goal was to showcase the grandeur of nature and the beauty of these trees while highlighting the transition of the seasons. Autumn isn’t just a change in weather—it’s a shift in mood, color, and atmosphere. The golden and crimson hues of the leaves seemed to whisper about the fleeting nature of time. I was inspired by the works of Impressionist painters like Claude Monet, who mastered the art of capturing fleeting moments of light and color. I wanted to create a photograph that felt like a painting, where every brushstroke was replaced by the movement of the camera.

For this image, I used the technique of Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) combined with multiple exposures. The shutter speed was set to about 0.5 seconds. I moved the camera slightly upwards to emphasize the verticality of the trees, their growth, and their connection to the sky. I then added another layer with a gentle diagonal movement to create a sense of airiness and softness.

The process turned out to be more challenging than I initially expected. The first shot was too blurry, and the light was lost in the chaos. I had to adjust the camera’s movement and the shooting angle to capture the very interplay of light that had drawn me to the scene. I experimented with different shutter speeds to strike a balance between the clarity of the forms and the softness of the light.

When I looked at the final result, I felt it truly reflected the moment I had experienced. The photograph captures the grandeur of the trees, the serene mood of autumn, and the subtle melancholy that comes with the realization that the year is drawing to a close. For me, this image became a symbol of harmony between nature and art, between reality and inspiration.
