Damien was a simple person, the former demon of hell, one of many who answered to Lucifer, but unlike most demons, Mazikeen in particular. So when Lucifer abandoned hell five years ago, he figured he would too. He wasn't dumb; he was sure Lucifer knew when a demon was on Earth. So he was sitting at the bar having a staring contest with Mazikeen when the devil sat down beside him.

"Long time no see, boss. So this is what you've been up to since you left hell, nice. A little bit showy for my taste, but to each their own."

"Honestly, hell is a joke right now, what with everyone gunning for who's gonna rule hell now that you're not down there. I tend to stay out of it and go about my business until they ask me to join their little coup d'etat, but I know better than trying to upstage you." Damien said as he took a sip of his beer.

"I don't want any part of it, so here I am. I promise you I'm not up to anything nefarious. I figured if you could make a new start, I could too. Plus, I miss bickering with this one here." Damien said as he locked eyes with Mazikeen. "If you're gonna tell me to go back, just do me a favor and just snuff me out; I'm not about to follow anyone on a power trip; my loyalties would always be to you and no one else, even that sociopath, Marcus."

Lucifer sat down to Damien, drink in hand. "What are you doing here, Damien?" he asked. He didn't mean Lux. No, he meant Earth. Demons weren't meant to be on Earth, he knew that. No, whenever demons ended up on Earth without his permission, possessions, murders, demonic cults, the works, really, happened. It was why he outlawed demons coming to Earth or he'd have them incinerated. Damien was historically one of his more intelligent demons, he had never had an issue with him before. And, if Mazikeen could be on Earth without... too many issues... then he imagined Damien could, too. But first, he had to figure out what was going on here.
