Flirting with the Villain's Dad
Source: Tapas
Creators: via, dalseul
Synopsis: Ack! I'm trapped in this webnovel, "Brigitte Wants to be Happy!" No prob, I KNOW what's gonna happen so I'll just—wait. I'm not Brigitte? I'm her aunt, Princess Yerenika?! Uh-oh. I'm stuck 20 years before the main plot... and everyone in my generation ends up tragically dead! Her parents, dead. Me, dead. Villain's dad, King Euredian, dead. A-ha! That's the key. I just need to prevent the villain from being born... time to break out some seduction schemes and flirt like my life depends on it!
Status: On going (march '24)
My rating: 4 - 🍓🍓🍓🍓

Images: Soleia (villain), Laurus (???) and Terry (priest)
Our FL, Yerenika, is reborn in a world she got to know about in a story she read in her past life; only she gets there twenty years before the story she read about begins. Her sister is currently pregnant with Brigitte, the future protagonist of that webnovel she liked and the girl who will be the one sided love of the future villain, the son of the King of Bellacourt and the dark mage Soleia. To save her new family, one of her favorite characters –Euredian King of Bellacourt– and herself from a tragic ending, she decides to take her sister's place in a nearby event that sets the horrible future into motion. Like that, Yerenika prepares to be kidnapped instead of her sister by the Euredian and be taken to Bellacourt as a hostage due to both Yerenika's father and Euredian having an unsolved political issue. Her plan? Use her time as a hostage to make Euredian, the future father of the original villain, fall in love with her and prevent the villain from being born.
I love this story for two reasons. Number one, Yerenika's character is very strong, and doesn't allow anyone to intimidate her. She's a woman on a mission to save the world, and she doesn't care how dense or annoying she has to be because there are more important matters at hand right now, people will die if she doesn't succeed. She's very determined and a little bit strategic, it's fun to see her try and try and try again without falling despirited to Euredian's cold heart, she's not after his love because she's enamored with him after all.
I will admit that later in the story there are things about the way she refers to others that I don't like as much, there are points where she becomes a little bit mean maybe. It doesn't happen as often so I just ignored those particular parts and kept going, but I thought maybe it would be necessary to point that out since I don't seem to be the only one who perceives it that way. I think it's part of her strong character, I just think it could have being approach differently.
The second thing that I really liked about this story is the two main character's dynamic. There is a third party in play, Soleia –who I really liked too–, Euredian's fiancee and the mother of the future villain. Soleia needs to marry Euredian as part of a plan of revenge against the empire, so of course when Yerenika comes around trying to steal his attention she has to be wary of her, but I personally never saw her as the main obstacle for Yerenika's and Euredian's relationship.
Euredian could be seen as the typical ML with a heart to defrost, but the reason he can't let his heart waver is because he takes his role as the king very seriously. Even when he comes to like this silly princess that is also very suspicious as to why she insists so much on marrying him, he can't just drop his responsibilities to his empire and its people, all the things he was taught since childhood, because of her. Not to mention that he's aware of the danger it would represent for her if he ever showed he cared for Yerenika. Euredian needs to marry Soleia as part of his responsibilities, and he's aware Soleia might harm the princess if he tried otherwise. So what makes the main obstacle for these two people to be together is how their stubborness and goals collide: Euredian wants to be a responsible and dedicated king, Yerenika needs him to to give that up to save the future. It's fun because the conflict that keeps their wills fighting it's presented in a way that feels genuine, and also because it eventually evolves in this dynamic where both are conscious that they like each other, but Euredian can't give everything up for the sake of love and they both begin to feel powerless about the situation.
I like Soleia as a villain. She has a story behind her that led her to a bad path, she made bad choices but she doesn't regret it, she's too filled with anger to regret anything. Laurus, a deity of this universe that comes into play later on, is someone I find very entertaining as this all powerful being that just wants to be left alone but suddenly cares too much about this random princess from another universe.
I would like to add that in this story in particular the fact that the FL comes from another world is important to the plot. Not only does her soul not completely align with her body, causing her to be sick most of the time, but it also comes to be a problem later on when her body starts to reject her, which was also very interesting to read about.
I like the story, the illustrations and the side characters. I didn't feel it was boring at any point. I will give it four strawberries. The story is still on going but I can feel it being close to the end (I'm about on chapter 140). I fully recommend it!

I liked the story of this manhwa, it also has a unique and cute artstyle, It makes all the characters look like such cuties to me, however, it is still able to make any spooky scenes a bit unnerving lol (・人・)
One thing I adore about this manhwa is the matching outfits between the mc and Muelle, its absolutely adorable (ღ≧◡≦ღ)
Overall, it was a fun read, and I'm looking forward to any side stories

I Raised A Black Dragon by Dalseul 달슬
Rating: 5/5
Book blurb: The witch, Eleonora Asil, has fifteen previous convictions. And the transmigrator, Noah Park, had no intentions of being involved in the novel’s original plot of the dragon beheading the villainess. With that thought in mind, she abandoned her titles as The Wicked Witch and sought to live a long and peaceful life.So she heads down to the countryside wrought with deep remorse for all her misdeeds. And all should be happy… or she thought.“Please raise me!”And so it would seem that she stumbled upon the heroine’s pet dragon — the black-haired kid that would turn ballistic and obsessive later on — imprinted the villainess as his mother. And to make matters worse, the male lead suspects her as the prime culprit of stealing the dragon.“How long should I keep up with you?”She thought he’d arrest her right away, but seems like the male lead was slowly becoming the dragon’s butler.“Can I hug you?”“No.”“Then… can you hold me?”The villainess believes that the dragon needs a bit of taming.‘Oh, male lead, won’t you sign a life contract as a real butler?’
Review:
A woman finds herself transported into the body of a famous witch named Eleonora Asil... who just happens to be a villain who has fifteen previous convictions. Noah Park has only one goal in life: relaxing, sleeping, and just enjoying her time. She wants nothing to do with the life villainous from the novel, thus the moment she is transported into Eleonora’s body she gives up the title of The Wicked Witch and moves to the countryside, pretending that she is wrought with deep remorse for all her deeds when she just wants to live a peaceful life. But life has other plans, as the novel does thrust the original baby dragon at her doorstep and it thinks that Noah is it’s mother and wants her to raise him. After trying to get rid of the heroine’s pet dragon, she gives up because it’s imprinted on her and thinks she is his mother... plus the child is just so sweet and cute. Noah gives in and decides to take in the dragon... but then the male lead, a investigator is suspicious of her and ends up on her doorstep to investigate her... only he does not except Noah. He thinks she is the villainess Eleonora but instead he is greeted with a super lazy and sleep Noah who lives in a messy house and immediately feels the need to clean up the place and take care of her.. he thinks the best way to do so is pretend to be a butler for her. Soon Noah and her new companions find themselves as an unlikely family as Noah must unravel the crimes of Eleonora and whoever is still after her dragon. All the while there are sparks growing between Noah and the inspector... but with her own past haunting her and the fact that someone might be out to revive Eleonora and put her soul back in her rightful body, things are going to get messy. This was a super cute and charming story and the romance was light and sweet. There is a manga that is currently being released and the artwork is absolutely precious!

I know this is mainly Lady isekai and genuinely-
- I raised a Black Dragon on Mantra/light novel by Dalseul (over worked girl gets thrown into a book as a villainess and immediately apologizes- retires- and still accidentally finds a dragon egg while trying to live her life alone and just sleeping)
I become a true villainess Mantra/light novel by Flowing Honey - overworked woman tired and terrified to die again learns she is in the body of a doomed villainess- refusing to die again she turns her life around and tries to just keep her head down and avoid death flags until the lady lead (who funny enough is also supposed to be the isekaied one (are you if you are in the story? So trippy)) and the male protagonist fall in love and live happily ever after…. So why is she still tangled up in the love triangle?
Savor the taste! Mantra- a girl is isekaied into the body of a doomed princess that is forgotten and abandoned by her family. She is fine with this. She spends her allowance cooking and eating the best foods she can think of making. Gleefully making herself all types of snacks! But when death day comes and she asks she eat her snacks in peace before she is killed- turns out her snacks are the only thing the cursed Duke can stomach! (All of this is in the first chapter hella wild)
Also if someone can help me find again-
Coffee obsessed girl is reincarnated into a world where there is no coffee- specifically she is married off and told to not be seen and happily goes into a quiet life away from her husband and looks for ways to make herself coffee? You would think this would be easy to find but isn’t
Most of my favorites are listed above but I have 1 count them 1 isekai male protage Isekai where the guy is not really lame-
NiNoKuni- currently on Netflix but probably can find the manga or anime in other places- where popular boy and his chronically ill best friend fall into a magical world to save the girl they are both in love with. (Does have a little of magically cured! Plot BUT there is actually a pretty solid reason why he was sick in the first place)
It is legit one of my favorite movies and I wanted to at least put it out there as the only anime where the two guys are not actually lame. Seeing as one is the top athlete with a heart of gold just wanting to live his life with his two best friends. And the other is legit sunshine boy.
Anyway! Sorry! Continue with the lady leads!
Isekai with male protags: "I was a loser on earth but now I'm super fucking strong and gettin mad bitches"
Isekai with female protags:
Reincarnated princess uses earth knowledge to make magitech a thing and romances sad girl
Girl romantically pursues her video game waifu
Girl is tasked to teach actual fucking gods to be more empathetic to humans
Woman reincarnated as the daughter of a magic item crafter uses earth knowledge to advance her trade
"Straight" girl is sucked into a world with zero men and lesbians everywhere and finds out she's sapphic (there's like actual plot but the gay is what matters.... to me)
A ghibli film. Need I say more
Woman reincarnated in video game as doomed villainess desperately tries to change her story
Girl reincarnated as a tiny baby spider kills monsters to level up
Like the male protag one but the lame guy's mom got isekaid with him and she's the op one.
Two normal girls fight urban legends in terrifying danger dimension

Media I'm Currently Consuming
With my return to this tumblr which is focused on media reviews/fangirling I thought I'd write a post on what media I've been reading, watching and listening to lately.
In terms of comics and graphic novels, other than catching up on One Piece and Akatsuki no Yona, I've recently been pulled into the isekai and villainess genres which led me to Korean manhwas. I've read a lot recently and I'll probably post separate reviews on my favourite ones but my current reads are:
"Flirting with the Villain's Dad" by Dalseul
"Trash of the Count's Family" by PING
"Little Rabbit and the Big Bad Leopard" by Yasik and Mogin.
Concurrently to the mangas and manhwas I've also started reading light novels that I originally found the mangas/manhwas of first then transitioned to the light novels. For this I'm currently reading:
"By the Grace of the Gods" by Roy
"Housekeeping Mage from Another World" by You Fuguruma
"The Haunted Bookstore - Gateway to a Parallel Universe" by Shinobumaru
"Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill" by Ren Eguchi
In terms of TV shows... I'm behind on everything haha. I'll probably get around to the Marvel stuff but for now the only thing I've been watching is "Supernatural" which I'm restarting from the beginning (I stopped at season 11) and "Amazing Saturday" (Korean Variety Show)
No films because I haven't watched anything for the past few years... unless rewatching all off the MCU up until the end of Phase 4 counts.
For games, ever since the Nintendo 3ds store closed down I've been switching between replaying my old games like "Fire Emblem Fates" "Pokemon X" and "Harvest Moon: Tale of Two Towns" while also playing games I bought before the store closed like "Etrian Odyssey IV" and "Persona Q"
Since this is the first of this kind of post I'm making the format is kind of janky and I'm not sure how to end it but I just thought I'd share and maybe I'll make this a monthly series or something.

People say that the way affection grows between people can be compared to getting caught in a drizzle. The same way that one moment you're dry, then suddenly you're not, affections creep up on you. You one day suddenly realise you like someone. — Yerenika Sofya Livovny, Flirting with The Villain's Dad.
