The character design of this girl still pisses me off. The boy looks a bit better, but is a shit brat, so I’d gladly bully both.

HAHA WOMEN BEING VIOLENT WITH MEN IS THE FUNNIEST JOKE TOP KEK You see it’s because women are weak and incapable so there’s no way they could really hurt any man, especially if they’re as small as Rukia! They can only funnily slap, just like women do! Even throwing desks like Tatsuki is never harmful! Haha, women are adorable!

Also: creepy faces. Everyone in this anime is making creepy face at some point and mostly I’m not sure what do they mean? Okay, in this case they want us to feel spooked, I wonder if it would have worked if I didn’t know what happens next…

I really liked the cinematic direction in this episode, for the first time in the series. The tilted camera angles and shot composition maybe weren’t the best ever, but I enjoyed them. It probably helps that this episode has almost no comedy, and no manzai, which usually gets silly faces and colourful backgrounds. I wish the video quality was better, I also still really like the music.

Aw yeah, Chad throwing Rukia, from now on I ship this. Because why not.

It was really stupid that the hollow described his story to Ichigo, and OF COURSE he used to be as unredeemable human as he is now a hollow. So we won’t feel sad for a psychopatic serial killer that hurts a little child’s soul even after his death. Good thing Ichigo is sensitive on the topic of moms and will take care of this bad man and senh him straight to hell!

Looks like the next episode is about Kon?

Also, Rukia being cute and then reasonable, some dumb background kids being dumb, one of them is FukuJun even. A long TL note before the episode, it’s not as outrageous as those lengthy explanations of every pun before Ebichu, but still a sign of that era.

Drama in Bleach is a bit cringey, but I suppose it’s the same for all of the shounens. If I wanted a good drama, I would have been watching Precure instead.

THEY HAVE SHOWN THE SCENE WITH ORIHIME AND TATSUKI HEARING NOISES AGAIN AND IT’S COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE IN THE LAST EPISODE LIKE WTF

Aww, Ichigo’s talk about oniichan’s responsibility was the cutest. The cutest!

I wish the sound in this cartoon was of a better quality, because Shirou’s music.

I also think I grew up because I don’t think that Orihime being a big breasted idiot is a bad thing anymore. Yes, I still prefer Rukia or Tatsuki, but Orihime is alright as well. She’s cute.

I wonder if there were yurifaggots years ago that would ship Rukia with Orihime or Tatsuki with either, just as they always ship magical girls with each other?

I like that Ichigo has teeth, it’s very rare for anime characters nowadays. Also, when facing the camera, the noses of some the characters disappear and only two dots in place of nostrils are drawn. I remember that it was a popular design choice in early 2000s, started noticing it everywhere after a magazine pointed it out in Wolf's Rain.

Tomorrow’s episode is finally Chad and his parakeet, I can’t wait!

Oh, yeah, ten years ago there were no chapters as well, so I have to manually rewind to skip the opening. What a hassle!

Aw yeah, Orihime and Tatsuki and even Chad appear in this episode! I love them! My biggest problem with Bleach is Kubo steadily forgetting about Karakura, and treating Ichigo’s friends as additional tools. Even those that also have superpowers. This also reminds me, that the first episode was the last time when Rukia was strong and awesome. Oh well, at least she makes funny faces now.

Also, all Japanese I know is from other anime, but now I can really hear that her speech pattern is outdated. Probably watching so many jidaigekis helped. Also: Fumiko Orikasa, yay!~~

Aw yeah, the memetic leek spin! Nowadays children only think of leeks as an accessory for Hatsune Miku, but WHEN I WAS YOUNG we used to know their true value!

Of course a hollow made out of Orihime’s brother looks more humanoid than the ones we’ve seen before.
