Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (1864-1901)
Toulouse-Lautrec drank constantly and slept little. After a long night of drawing and binge-drinking, he would often wake early to print lithographs, then head to a café for lunch and several glasses of wine. Returning to his studio, he would take a nap to sleep off the wine, then paint until the late afternoon, when it was time for aperitifs.
(One of his inventions was the Maiden Blush, a combination of absinthe, mandarin, bitters, red wine, and champagne. He wanted the sensation, he said, of “a peacock’s tail in the mouth.”)

🗓️ Organizing Your Witchy Rituals 🌙✨
Hello darlings 🥰
It is easy to feel overwhelmed by all the witchy things you’d like to do, so creating a schedule for your witchy rituals can bring structure and balance to your practice. Here's a suggested weekly timetable to inspire you:
🌕 Monday: Moon Magic On Mondays, align your practice with the energy of the moon. Perform rituals for manifestation, divination, or connecting with your intuition. Charge and cleanse your crystals under the moonlight.
🌿 Tuesday: Herb and Plant Magic Dedicate Tuesdays to working with herbs and plants. This can involve creating herbal remedies, growing your magical herb garden, or connecting with the spirit of plants through meditation and nature walks.
🔥 Wednesday: Elemental Magic Explore the power of the elements on Wednesdays. Work with fire for transformation, air for communication and clarity, water for emotions and intuition, and earth for grounding and stability. Incorporate rituals that honor and connect with each element.
🔮 Thursday: Divination and Spellcasting On Thursdays, focus on divination and spellcasting. Use tarot cards, oracle decks, or other divination tools to gain insight and guidance. Perform spellwork to manifest your desires and bring positive change into your life.
✨ Friday: Self-Care and Enchantment Fridays are dedicated to self-care and enchantment. Take time to pamper yourself with magical baths, create sacred spaces, or explore beauty rituals that enhance your inner and outer radiance. Practice self-love and self-empowerment spells.
🌟 Saturday: Spirituality and Connection Saturdays are perfect for deepening your spiritual practice and connecting with the divine. Engage in meditation, explore different spiritual traditions, work on your energy healing techniques, or perform rituals to connect with your spirit guides or ancestors.
📚 Sunday: Study and Reflection Use Sundays for studying and reflecting on your magical path. Dive into books, online resources, or courses that expand your knowledge of witchcraft, spirituality, or esoteric subjects. Journal about your experiences, insights, and personal growth.
A healthy and effective schedule will always be unique to you, but I hope this guideline will inspire you to take more control of your time as a practicing witch 🥰✨

Introduction
Hello. Welcome to my blog. I have no clue yet where I want this to go or where/if it will, but this is my scream into the void.
I go by Solomon online and magically and I am a witch. I have been for almost 11 years now, off and on. My path through witchcraft has not been a straight or narrow one, but whose has been? Isn't that the beauty in it all?
I'll warn you, I'm not a "good" witch. By that specifically, I mean I'm not an aesthetic witch. I don't have a beautiful mahogany cabinet filled with fresh picked herbs from my backyard garden on the full moon when it's in Cancer. I don't have a giant cast iron cauldron full of magical potion or with a roaring fire. I do have two cats, and that's about as far as I've gotten. Right next to me right now is a cauldron-shaped mug filled with steaming coffee, what I whispered my intentions into. Most days, my witchcraft gets as far as a small chant in the shower as I frantically rush to get ready for my corporate job because I've hit snooze too many times. Maybe if I'm feeling particularly charged that day, I'll light a candle or read my tarot cards for the day.
So why now? Why make a blog in the Year 2024, when short form media is the norm and Tumblr continues it's slow death... I have no idea. It's familiar, it's bringing me back to 2013 and the hours I've spent on this platform wearing many different masks over the years. It's a space where I want to pull together at least some form of community to make it feel like I've contributed somewhere, anywhere...
So I'll leave now with a small ritual. It's simple and easy and you might already be doing it anyway.
You'll need: a cup of coffee (quickness, speed), vanilla syrup (sweetness, love), milk (spirituality, love), and a spice of your choice (I like cinnamon - abundance, prosperity, and quickness)
Assemble your coffee grounds. I add the herbs/spices into the ground beans before brewing. Whisper to them and ask them nicely to aid you in your day. I pray for extra luck and abundance throughout the day.
Brew your beverage.
Add the vanilla syrup and ask it nicely to add extra sweetness to your day.
Add in the milk/cream to taste, asking it to help you connect to whatever you believe in.
Before you take the first sip, take a deep breath and think once more about your coffee, what it means, and what you want to bring forth in your day. Don't overthink this, just take a moment.
Drink, enjoy

When I made this soapstone carving it was originally for a friend of mine going through a separation. He ended up walking away from the relationship before I had a chance to give it to him so I held onto it.
It sits delicately in its base and gets knocked over easily. It became part of my grounding daily ritual to check on it and make sure it was sitting upright in its base. This reminds me to not take love for granted and to remember to invest daily attention in my loving relationships to keep us on a good path.
Love takes work, not always in big bursts but those daily little interactions matter and deserve our attention just as much as the big shifts demand it.

Wake up, make a list based on your goals, accomplish them before going to bed, and sleep like a baby. That's it. No garbage involved.

My view during my "morning ritual"
Sipping coffee i brewed with good intentions, beside the minimalist household altar (not shown). With my cat in my lap or on the floor in his play area by my feet.
I think about what needs to be accomplished. What I'm thankful for. I center and ground myself. I think about my affirmations or my moon intention I'm working on. I listen to nature sounds using my self care app, Finch. Or, I just pet Ozzy. Which in itself is a blessing.
Ritual doesn't need to be complex. Sometimes I do all of these things. Other times, I just appreciate my cool house and a cat in my lap.

so here's Auntie Elena's life advice for today:
Pick a small thing you view as "special" and try to do it every day. Set your own realistic time frame--is this something you could do every day for a week? A month? A whole season?
And no "thing" is too small, either. I used to view milk tea as a treat, because I'm dairy-free, and nondairy milk is generally pretty expensive, and I thought that meant I shouldn't have it all the time. But then the big jug of oat milk was on sale one week, and I thought, "sure why not" and I bought it and started making myself milk tea every morning.
I've been doing it now for two months. Every day. My "expensive" milk goes really far when I'm mostly using it for tea, it doesn't spoil as fast as dairy milk so it's not actually more expensive in the long run, and my tea-making is now a comforting, enjoyable morning ritual.
My example is a drink, but it doesn't have to be that, or food, or even anything consumable. Do you want more nature? Take a walk every day, and don't make it about the exercise, but about the experience. Do you have pretty jewelry you barely wear? Wear it! You already have it!
What's one small thing you wish you could do every day, that you aren't already doing?
When you've answered that, ask yourself, why not? What's actually stopping me?

Jane Austen (1775–1817) Austen never lived alone and had little expectation of solitude in her daily life. Her final home, a cottage in the village of Chawton, England, was no exception: she lived there with her mother, her sister, a close friend, and three servants, and there was a steady stream of visitors, often unannounced. ...
Austen wrote in the family sitting room, “subject to all kinds of casual interruptions,” her nephew recalled. She was careful that her occupation should not be suspected by servants, or visitors, or any persons beyond her own family party. She wrote upon small sheets of paper which could easily be put away, or covered with a piece of blotting paper. There was, between the front door and the offices, a swing door which creaked when it was opened; but she objected to having this little inconvenience remedied, because it gave her notice when anyone was coming. “Composition seems to me impossible with a head full of joints of mutton & doses of rhubarb.” From Daily rituals by Mason Currey

Tired today. Very, very, very tired. Rewatched The Endless. Moorhead and Benson. Still appreciate that movie in maybe tenth viewing.
