Kadokura would readily admit, if asked, that he had largely checked out of this conversation. While he talked a big game, he knew this guy had no intention of actually buying anything. He wanted to look good for the yakuza, and was using Kadokura as a prop to do so. Standard fare, but dull and trite.
The man he'd been giving maybe a third of his attention, had quickly become entirely irrelevant as he noticed the small child attempting to dart past, and he outright ignored the trepidation that crossed the man's face as he crouched to snatch the girl up.
A single smooth continuous movement, down, scoop, and back up, and Kadokura had the child perched on a hip, arm tucked under her for support.
He plucked the knife from her hand just as swift and cleanly.
"Your mother told you no. You can have it back when she leaves," he was casual, comfortable, with this turn of events.
The man he'd been talking to's eyes had stayed wide across the entire interaction, seeming to defy human physiology by widening yet more as the Tojo Chairman approached and he puzzled all the pieces together in his clearly struggling brain.
"Corrupting my child, Kenshi-san?"
He shot a grin at Daigo, "Of course not, never!" Playful sarcasm in full force.
Daigo chuckled, fond amusement obvious, and ruffled the girl's hair over Kadokura's shoulder, earning a sharp glare from the girl, and even stronger pout.
Out of the corner of his eye, Kadokura kept aware of their onlooker, entertained by how clearly the gears in that one's head had jammed.
"Make sure you teach her how to hold it properly at least."
Kadokura fought back a laugh as he gasped in exaggerated faux offense, "Daigo-chan! Who do you take me for!? As if I would ever half ass something as important as proper knife forms!"
