GIF IS NOT MINE! Gif credit goes to the creator.

Bucky heard giggles coming from the living room as he entered the apartment. He assumed you were watching something funny on TV. You do have the TV on, but you’re not paying attention to it. Your attention is directed to your phone. You’re texting your crush.
“Hey, doll.” Bucky says as he walks in the living room.
“Hey, dad.” You say, not taking your eyes off of your phone.
Bucky frowns. You always greet him with a hug when he comes home. Giggles erupted from you again.
“What’s on your phone that’s so funny?” He curiously asks.
“My crush said something that made me laugh.” You say.
“Make sure he knows your dad is a Super Soldier and used to be an assassin.” He says.
“She knows.” You say without even realizing that you kinda came out to your dad.
“He.” He corrects you.
“What?” You asked, looking up from your phone.
“You said she. I think you mean he.” He says.
Your eyes went wide when you realized it.
“You did mean he, right?” Bucky asks.
You stared at your dad and slowly shook your head no. It took Bucky a moment to realize it.
“Doll, what are you trying to say?” He asks.
You looked down at your lap and fidgeted with your fingers.
“Y/N, talk to me. You can tell me anything.” He says softly.
Your eyes filled with tears. You have a feeling if you come out to your dad, he might not accept you because of the time period he’s from.
“My crush is a girl in my algebra class who’s also on the cheer team.” You say.
“You have a crush on a girl?” He asks, making sure he heard you right.
You nodded your head yes.
“I’m bisexual, dad.” You finally say.
“That means you like boys and girls, right?” He asks, just to be sure.
“Yes.” You replied.
You broke down in tears, scared of what your dad is gonna say next. Bucky wrapped his arms around you and held you as you cried.
“Do you hate me now?” You asked.
“Why would I hate you?” Bucky asks softly.
“Cause you’re from the 1940s and I came out to you as bisexual.” You say.
“Just because I’m from the 40s, doesn’t mean I hate you.” He says.
“So- So you accept me liking both boys and girls?” You asked, looking up at him.
“Of course I do, doll. You’re my daughter. I’ll always accept you.” He says with a smile.
You smiled and hugged him tightly.
“Would you still accept me as bisexual if we were in the 1940s?” You curiously asked.
“Yes, of course.” He smiles.
You smiled as Bucky kisses the top of your head.
“I love you, dad.” You say with a smile.
“I love you too, kiddo.” He says softly with a smile.

Family Day Out

Family is everything
Pairing: Stucky x Reader
A/N: Sorry I have been so absent, my life has been so chaotic.
I will try to post more often.
Summary: This story is about a domestic and fluffy day in the life of the Rogers-Barnes family.
——————————————————————————
You woke up to the sound of little footsteps approaching your bedroom door. You opened your eyes to see Aurora, your and Bucky's daughter, standing at the door with a wide grin on her face. "Good morning, mommy!" she exclaimed, bouncing on her toes.
"Good morning, sweetie," you said, sitting up in bed and rubbing the sleep from your eyes. "What time is it?"
"It's time to wake up, silly!" Aurora giggled.
You chuckled and scooped her up into your arms, carrying her back to her bedroom. Bucky was already up, sitting in the kitchen with a cup of coffee in hand. "Good morning," you said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Morning, doll," he replied, grinning at you. "How'd you sleep?"
"Pretty well, all things considered," you said, smiling at him. "What's on the agenda for today?"
Bucky took a sip of his coffee before replying. "I was thinking we could take the girls to the park. It's a nice day outside, and I know Aurora would love to play on the swings."
"That sounds like a great idea," you said, nodding in agreement.
Audrey, Steve's daughter, came bounding into the kitchen, her blonde hair bouncing behind her. "Morning, guys!" she said, grinning at all of you.
"Good morning, Audrey," Bucky said, ruffling her hair.
"So, what's the plan for today?" Audrey asked, hopping up onto one of the stools at the kitchen counter.
"We were thinking of taking you and Aurora to the park," you said, smiling at her.
"Yay!" Audrey exclaimed, clapping her hands. "I love going to the park!"
Bucky finished his coffee, and the four of you got ready to head out. Aurora put on her favorite dress, a blue and white sundress that twirled around her legs when she spun. Audrey opted for shorts and a t-shirt, and the two of them looked like polar opposites.
Once you arrived at the park, Bucky lifted Aurora onto the swings, pushing her gently back and forth. Audrey was already off exploring the playground, climbing up the slides and running around with the other kids.
You sat down on a nearby bench, enjoying the warm sunshine on your skin. "It's nice to just sit and relax for a bit," you said to Bucky.
"Yeah, it is," he said, watching Aurora swing higher and higher. "I love being able to do stuff like this with her. It's something I never thought I'd have."
"Well, now you do," you said, smiling at him. "And you're an amazing dad."
Bucky's cheeks turned a little pink, and he leaned over to give you a kiss. "Thanks, doll," he said, grinning at you.
The rest of the afternoon was spent playing on the swings, exploring the playground, and having a picnic lunch on a nearby blanket. As the sun began to set, you all headed back to the car, tired but happy.
As you drove home, Aurora and Audrey chatted excitedly about all the fun they'd had at the park. Bucky reached over and took your hand, squeezing it gently. "I love you," he said, his voice filled with warmth.
"I love you too," you replied, smiling at him.
You all arrived back at the house, and the girls headed up to their bedrooms to get ready for bed. Bucky helped Aurora into her pajamas, while Steve did the same for Audrey. Once they were both tucked in, you and Bucky sat down on the couch, snuggled up together

"James Buchanan Barnes, why is there a body part in my damn dishwasher?"
"Sorry, doll, I couldn't wait for it to air dry."
"Don't 'doll' me. You're lucky that vibranium didn't get dirty from the leftover food. Wait, is this why our son decided to put his toy in the oven? Because he saw you do this?"
"You mean the Redwing toy Sam got him? No, I'm pretty sure he did that all on his own."
"Bucky, did you tell him to put it in the oven?"
"...I didn't not tell him."
"...You're a bad influence."
"Am I? I think you should be proud that he's strong enough to open the oven on his own."
"..."
*Kiss to the cheek as Bucky grabs his arm* "Love you."
*sigh* "Love you, too."

𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐏𝐢𝐠
𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆: Dad!Bucky Barnes x Mom!Reader
𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘: Bucky’s little angel is obsessed with Peppa. Bucky hates it.
𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓: 1.2K
𝐀𝐔𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐒 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄: This is entirely based off me and my cousin who’s 3 years old obsessed with Peppa and I just thought about Bucky having a little girl who’s obsessed with it. I personally love this and have never written for Bucky, but i hope you all love it too 🫶
The show starts with the same annoying, cheery tune that Bucky is subjected to every day at 7 o’ clock on the dot .
“I’m Peppa Pig!” That stupid snorting sound. “This is my little brother, George!” Again. That stupid snorting sound. “This is Mummy Pig!” He really fucking hated that snorting sound. “And this is Daddy Pig!” He hated that one even more. He also hated how Becca would mimic it and just walk around and at random times of the day, start snorting like an animal. You were amused. Bucky? not so much.
Becca was currently sat on her Daddy’s lap on the couch. It was wind-down time for her. She was in her little Peppa Pig pyjamas, fed, happy but most importantly to her: deprived of that stupid English pig. No words could describe Becky’s hatred of that pig. He hated her. However, it was the only thing that would keep Becca still and not bored for half an hour before bed.
Becca was transfixed on the screen. Her eyes were literally glued to it. If Peppa Pig was on, or just ‘Pig’ as she called it, nobody could get through to her. You’d have to turn it off to get a word through her head, though it usually warranted a tantrum if the show was paused for even a moment.
Bucky really hated that stupid pig. It had a stupid name. It was a stupid animal. It was a stupid show. And his angel was obsessed with it. It was getting to the point Beccas accent was turning slightly English because she liked sounding like Peppa. Peppa was rude and annoying and Bucky didn’t think she taught him anything good.
“Doll, it calls it’s Dad fat. How is that even allowed now?!” was usually a sentence he’d find himself saying to you when he was trying to cut off Becca from her Peppa. “I thought this generation was sensitive about this stuff now. In my day? Sure, there was worse. But how do they get away with it now?!” You’d always just shake your head and continue letting your daughter watch Peppa. “We didn’t have any cartoon pig crap back then…” He grumbles under his breath. “We actually read books..”
Bucky felt like he was genuinely losing his mind. He felt like that pig haunted him. He genuinely nearly passed out when Becca came up to him, poked his stomach and giggled ‘Fat.’ He didn’t even know what to say. Obviously, being the adult, he had to have the conversation about how it wasn’t okay and all that, but he was just so stunned by that. The little bitch. Daddy was not fat.
Becca was still sat on his lap, transfixed on Peppa. Bucky huffs, practically glaring at the TV and shaking his head every 2 seconds. You walk in with two little Peppa biscuits on a Peppa plate and hand it to Becca before sitting down next to Bucky. She begins munching on the little biscuits, her eyes still fixed on the television. Peppa practically ran his house now. The cupboards were littered with her face, filled with all sorts of Peppa branded sweets and snacks for your little girl.
You glance over at him, smirking at the obvious disdain for the farm animal on his television. Throughout the episodes, you can practically see him seething silently as he holds Becca on his lap. Eventually after around 6 episodes of Peppa, it’s Beccas bedtime. You reach for the remote, clicking the ‘home’ button and therefore cutting off your daughter from Peppa Pig.
Before the tears even start, Bucky stands right up from the couch and goes up the stairs, heading for your daughters bedroom. She goes to protest but Bucky hushes her. He opens her bedroom door, practically shaking with irritation as he remembers your daughters bedroom decor.
Peppa blankets. Peppa pillows. Peppa toys. Peppa wallpaper. Peppa everything. He feels like everywhere he looks is Peppa. He pulls back her blankets, placing her down softly and running the tip of his metal finger down the bridge of her nose as he hushes her. Surprisingly, she actually stays quiet and doesn’t fuss, nuzzling into her comfy bed and smushing her chubby cheek against the pillow. You lean against the doorway with a soft smile.
“Daddy..?” She mumbled softly in that sweet little voice of hers that Bucky could spend all day listening to. “Yes, Babydoll?” He says softly. “Story…” She mumbles back, Bucky smiles softly. This was more like it. This was what he did back in his day before all of this TV and Ipad nonsense. “What story do you want, babydoll?” She hums sleepily and murmurs, “I wan’ the story ‘bout Peppa….” You stifle a laugh in the doorway. Bucky’s jaw clenches, sighing. He picks up her Peppa book and reads it to her until she’s fast asleep.
He puts the book back onto her bookshelf and pushes her hair back from her face as she dozes. How he loved his babydoll. He stands up to tuck her in, you coming up behind him and resting your forehead against his back.
“Doll?”
“Mhm..?” “
“We’re redecorating.”
✪𓃟✪𓃟✪𓃟✪
bonus scene
Then, of course, of. fucking. course, her 5th birthday was Peppa themed. The little cartoon pig honestly gave Bucky more nightmares than his Winter Soldier days. Her face was absolutely everywhere.
She was on the plates, the napkins, the cups, the balloons, the tablecloths. Bucky looked almost out of place, a face like a slapped-arse while all Beccas friends ran around giggling and bouncing on the bouncy castle - which also had that stupid things face on it.
Sam stood next to him, snickering at his disdain for a children’s TV show and it’s protagonist. It comes time for presents and Becca picks one up. It’s got somewhat wonky wrapping and a big pink bow on it, labelled with her name on it as well as ‘Uncle Sam’ beneath her name with a small heart. She tears off the wrapping paper.
Bucky was literally going insane. It was a little play set with all these little Peppa Pig toys, almost taunting Bucky. He can’t help but glare at Sam, almost crushing his stupid little Peppa Pig cup in his metal hand. Well, the cup was kind of Peppa. He’d grabbed a marker and scribbled all over her face on the cup when he’d filled it earlier on in the party. Admittedly, he received a few strange looks from others parents when he did that. It was almost comical, the way he hated this pig.
As soon as Becca, her friends and the rest of the adults are watching them play another children’s game, Bucky walks up to the gift table stealthily. He grabs the little box containing all the figures, the plastic on the front of the box almost crushing in his fingers from the pure resentment he feels towards that pig. He goes outside, claiming he was just grabbing something for the party from the car. He shoved that box so far into the dumpster behind the venue that someone would think he was hiding a body.
Sam follows him, snickering. He didn’t care if Sam saw him. Hell, he wanted Sam to see him shoving the stupid gift he bought for his daughter into the trash.
“You owe me 20 bucks, man.”
“Fuck off, big bird. You’re encouraging this.”
He just wasn’t so aware that you were standing behind him and Sam with a questioning and somewhat concerned expression.
“Bucky…?”
“I fucking hate that pig.”
𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐓: OKAY SO MUMMY PIGS NOW PREGNANT?? WHAT??? If anyone wants like a part two of this about like Becca wanting a baby sibling or something following the whole Mummy Pig thing lmk cause it sounds so silly I love it, i don’t know if i’ll write it if i don’t get much interest in it though so lmk! 😭❤️

Look Don’t Touch
Dad!Mob!Bucky Barnes x Mom!reader
IN WHICH you accidentally walk onto your husband and his men during a meeting, clad in nothing else but a tight fitting top and a baby in your arms. The sight is enough to send the many men drooling, but Bucky reminds them that you’re only his to look at, and will always be.
WC: 2.1k
You wished you could have turned back to the few seconds you’d lived through before stumbling into your Husband’s office door. The silence in the room was deafening, at least for you it was. Alpine was all the least bothered, the white cat jumping across furniture to furniture without disturbing the decorations within. Your footsteps faltered quickly, suddenly stuck in your spot as you fell under the eyes of the familiar people that sat around the long meeting table. Men to be exact, the same exact group of men that had always been there to accidentally witness too far into yours and Bucky’s marriage.
Over the course of your relationship with Bucky, there had been one too many times where your husband’s men had caught you in compromising positions. Given that you were posed in such, you were always clad in near to nothing. The most you’d get to cover yourself with during those unfortunate times that you’ve gotten caught was either the thin material of yours and Bucky’s bed sheet, or his discarded suit jacket as he pounded you from behind on his work desk. One too many times of embarrassment and humiliation on your side.
You were sort of sure that Bucky’s eyes were literally shining at the mere sight of you. Although he wasn’t the only one that was caught in a trance after your sudden appearance. The sight of you clad in nothing else but that fitting tank top that you'd wear to sleep was enough to make a grown man shiver.
The stretchy fabric pressed around all the right areas, and the extras clung around your protruding belly. God and how much you hated that, your postpartum body that you’d glare at in the midst of the night while your baby laid sleeping. How It would take so much time for it to go, and how much you’d wish to have your old body back. Though Bucky loved it, he’d never fail to remind you of how beautiful you were, of how normal this all was because you had literally been carrying a whole baby inside of there.
You knew how much your husband loved the sight of that little belly of yours, but you’d never be able to tell how much it aroused the others as well. All of the eyes were on you, especially on how your breast threatened to spill out of the U-cut top that you wore. You were very well aware of the change, and how could you not? No matter the size that your breasts had been before, that had now tripled, if not quadrupled during pregnancy. They were so sore and heavy from carrying so much milk, and you cursed your husband for giving you a baby that required so much milk.
Not that you were genuinely complaining though, you loved your son more than yourself, and it didn’t matter if you had to suffer for him. You would and you were.
Nevertheless, you staggered for a second as you closed the door, suddenly very aware of the group of men that watched you and your baby gurgling across your chest. You adjusted your hand to pat along your baby’s back, standing up straighter as you shivered under all the eyes. No, you weren’t embarrassed because of your attire. In fact you couldn’t care less about that, you showing skin had never been a sore spot in yours and Bucky’s relationship, he had no concerns with you wearing revealing clothes.
In fact he loved that you loved your body enough to do so. At the start of your relationship it was hard for you to even open up to him about your naked skin, after being put down by the other men that were now an awful part of your past. He was by no means an insecure man, and you were by no means an unfaithful woman, so everything worked out as it should.
Furthermore, Bucky loved the sight of those snobby men checking you out at every given moment that he’d be far from your reach. He loved the sight of seeing those desperate men tracing your form as though to map it in their minds, a memory that they’d keep until they’d finally arrive home late at night, hands sinfully low in the shower as cold ran down their backs.
Bucky loved watching those scums approach you as though they had a chance, before seeing you mouth what you’d always say. “Not interested, I'm married.” before shoving your ringed finger in their face, a wicked grin plastered on your face before turning around to look for your loving husband. It was funny to him, watching their downturned expressions and you’d stare at your ring with such admiration, so much love that you held for him and him only.
Though on the few unfortunate nights where those ratty men just refused to understand, he’d make sure to make his way to you. Towering over the men no matter their height, an intimidating look crowding his face as he keeps his arms around your form. He made sure to send one of his men after the cowering scum at the end of the night, and much to your confusion, you’d somewhat never seen them again after that.
It was a funny sight at first, seeing your 6 foot tall, tatted mafia boyfriend getting all giddy because you’d confessed that you were finally confident enough in your skin to start wearing more open clothes. You were wearing those clothes by your own want and will, because of your newfound confidence and self love that you developed because of him. Your loving, mafia boyfriend that was now your husband, and inevitably the father of your child.
Now as you stood in Bucky’s office, you were simply embarrassed because you’d accidently interrupted your husband’s meeting, the defect of your motherly brain, you’d forgotten to knock before entering. Now everyone stared at you like a deer in headlights, you couldn’t help the heat that crept up your neck.
“Detka, is there anything that you’re looking for? Anything you need?” you watched as Bucky stood up from his chair at the head of the table, making his way towards you as the heels of his expensive Italian dress shoes clicked against the marble floor. You wanted nothing more but to melt onto a puddle at the sound of his gentle tone, and your fatigue did nothing to help ease that thought.
“A-actually I was going to ask you if you were hungry but now I see that you’re busy so, I’ll just ask again later,” you stuttered, rambling your thoughts as you urged to leave the room. If not careful, you could’ve slipped alongside your innocent baby as you left the room, but Bucky couldn’t just let you go like that. Sure he wanted to ask you what was wrong, stop you and demand why you’d rush out of the room. Not out of preeminence, but out of worry.
Though it was obvious by your nervously racking eyes and straight posture that you wanted nothing else than to leave the room, he followed you instead. Carefully clicking the door shut behind him, he left his men inside of the room to wonder by themselves. Bucky considered them family, like brothers, so they’d understand. He was sure of it.
Bucky turned around after closing the door, catching you bouncing your son back to sleep after you’d heard his weak grumbling. Your husband watched with heart eyes as the little Lev raises his even tinier fists to your chest, throwing an unreasoned angry fit against his poor momma. A raspy chuckle escapes Bucky’s throat as your son’s fists come crashing down against your collarbone rather robotically, and it’s not strong enough to even hurt you, but odd enough to startle you for a second.
Finally deciding to snap out of his awfully lovestruck trance, he sauntered towards you. The palm of his hand was warm against your arm, and it somewhat comforted you as you relished in his touch. “What’s wrong malyshka? Everything’s alright? Hope little Lev isn’t causing you too much trouble, god knows how loud he’s already been since this morning.” your husband joked, but you shuddered at the memory of getting begrudgingly out of bed at 4 in the morning because of your yelling baby.
Your heart picked up the pace at the sound of the nickname he’d reserved for you, and you felt yourself going shy before the very own man that’d seen every part of you, beyond and inside. Everything.
“I was making lunch and I was going to bring it to you, but I forgot to knock and look at where that brought me.” you laughed off the memory now that it was over, there was no need to drown in remorse over such a silly thing. Bucky’s eyes flashed towards the side table that laid against the wall near the huge doors of his meeting room, and apparently you had no free hands either because there laid a plate of his abandoned lunch upon the smooth wooden surface of the table.
It was his favourite dish, and Bucky unconsciously smiled at the thought of you being so keen to bring it to him because of that. Your husband’s baby blue eyes racked your body once more, taking notice of the pair of oversized sweatpants that you were wearing, those that were so obviously his. The sweats were so big on you that the strings upon your waist were painfully tightened, but no matter how many pairs of your own that your husband would buy you, no matter the price or top notch quality, you’d always find more comfort in his old, worn out ones that he’d beg you to throw away.
“You’re so beautiful, Malyshka. Thank you for the food, I'll have it as soon as I'm done with my meeting.” his warm, large palm cupped your cheek. You couldn’t help but lean into his touch, relishing in his love before he leaves to tend to his work once more. Sure, you’d see him in a couple of minutes, and his free time would last until tomorrow morning, but you wanted to be with him 24/7.
Bucky’s eyes then trailed down towards Lev, who was peacefully drooling away with his head squished against your chest. With his thumb still rubbing soothingly at your cheek, Bucky signalled you to go relax with Lev until he orders his men out, then motioned to one of the nearby maids to take his plate back to the kitchen until he was done, just so you didn’t have to move your pinky more than you needed to.
With you back in the comfort of your plush king sized bed alongside your son, and Bucky’s consciousness now at peace, he made his way back towards the heavy doors of his meeting room. The look on his face changed as soon as the doors clicked shut once more, and this time, the softened look completely left his features. There were no more signs of tenderness upon Bucky’s face.
The change was intimidatingly scary, his face now completely still and the menacing glow in his eyes did nothing to soothe them. For, it wasn’t like Bucky’s team believed that they were innocent. You didn't need to be hawk-eyed to see that they were obviously ogling you, their boss's wife, and the mother of his child at that.
Rolling up the sleeves of his suit jacket, the exposed sight of his fully tattooed arm made the grown men shiver. Forlorn excuses of men lowered their heads as Bucky walked past them, a sign of respect as though they hadn’t just snubbed him by looking a little too hard at what was his.
Yes, Bucky would call these people his brothers, and yes he did appreciate them when times came.
He often took the role of the eldest in the family. He was highly respected upon the mob, and he cared for them as they did for him. Yet living under his roof required to obey the rules that he had set up, and the most important one was; look, don't touch.
Though they’d manage to abide by that rule for as long as they’d set foot inside his home, they were truly starting to test their luck. Tonight, Bucky would make sure that none of them returned to their rooms without being taught a new additional rule. Perhaps this one would take the top place above the previous one, and this time, there’d be no more looking allowed.

Best Gift Drabble - Bucky
Becuase I'm a sap- I have mix feelings about birthdays, between being an introvert, and also sharing/stealing my older sisters birthday (yes same day, two years a part) I... it took me a long time to enjoy them.. and maybe now because I have my own family.. I don't know ANYWAY! I just decided to through this up.. cos Dad!Bucky lives in my head.. Bucky Barnes never made a big deal out of his birthday. In fact, if left to his own devices, he probably would’ve spent the day like any other- waking up early, taking his coffee black, maybe going for a run before settling into the quiet moments of his life.
But his daughter had other plans.
At precisely 6:07 AM, the soft pitter-patter of tiny feet echoed down the hall, followed by the whispered, "Shh, don’t wake him up yet!" and a not-so-whispered, "But it’s his birthday, we gotta do it now!"
Bucky smirked to himself, keeping his eyes closed as the door creaked open. A weight climbed up onto the bed, tiny but determined, followed by another, softer one.
Then, warm little fingers gently pried at his eyelids. "Daddy, wake up!"
A deep chuckle rumbled in his chest as he finally cracked an eye open. His little girl beamed at him, her messy morning curls barely contained by a lopsided headband. In her hands was a homemade card, decorated in bright colors with clumsy but loving handwriting: Happy Birthday, Daddy!
Beside her, was you, his wife sat with a sleepy smile, holding the youngest Barnes - a drowsy bundle still half-asleep against your chest.
"Morning, birthday boy," you murmured, pressing a kiss to his temple.
Bucky stretched, exhaling a soft sigh of contentment. "Morning, doll." His voice was rough with sleep as he sat up, his daughter crawling into his lap and practically shoving the card at him.
"Open it, Daddy! I drew all of us, see?"
He took the card, letting his metal fingers run gently over the crayon lines. There they were- him, his wife, the little ones, and even Alpine curled up at their feet. The drawing was messy, imperfect… and absolutely perfect.
Something thick lodged in his throat.
"You like it?" his daughter asked, suddenly unsure.
Bucky pulled her in close, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "Sweetheart, I love it. Best gift I ever got."
She giggled as he tickled her side, while you leaned against him, warmth and love surrounding them all.
Bucky had lived through more lifetimes than most, seen more birthdays than he cared to count, but this?
This was the only one that mattered.

Imagine Lottie is in Kindergarten and she gets expelled because she stood up for a kid who was getting bullied.
She thinks that she did something bad because now her teacher is really mad.
But Sugar and Bucky made her understand how proud they are of her for standing up against bad people and cheer her up and encourage her to do the same always!
I don’t think she would get expelled but maybe suspended just because she has super strength and maybe she pushed the bully a bit too hard. I also think she wouldn’t give two shits that her teacher was mad at her. Activate mini winter soldier with her scowl as she sits in the principal’s office. I think her and Henry would both stand up for the kids that were being bullied no matter what the consequences were.
Trigger warnings: Bullying, talk of illness, implied mention of cancer
Mini Avenger
Arms crossed over her chest. Anger flashing in her eyes. A frown on her lips. Charlotte was angry. She didn't understand why she was in trouble when she was only protecting a classmate from a bully. She was also mad at her teacher who had been mean to her. Then she was sent to the principal's office and Lottie was told that her parents had been called. When Bucky walked in through the door Lottie ran to him.
"Daddy." She got teary eyed the minute he picked her up.
"Mr. and Mrs. Barnes. Thank you for coming in on such short notice." The Principal, Mr. Giles, stands to greet you. "Charlotte please wait outside."
You had been standing next to Bucky trying to make sure Lottie was ok and you turned to glare at him.
"We need a minute to make sure our daughter is ok."
"Well, it's very important that we-"
"It's important for us to speak to our daughter and make sure she's ok first. Where can we speak privately?" Bucky says, leaving no space for discussions.
"I will give you a few minutes Mr. Barnes."
Mr. Giles walks out and closes the door behind him. Lottie reaches for you and you happily take her and give her a reassuring hug. You take a seat and settle Lott down.
"Am in trouble?" Lottie looked from you to Bucky with a sad look on her face.
"Tell us what happened. Why did you push that boy?"
"He's a bully. He was being mean to Gracie." She explains.
"Ok but did you follow our rules?"
"I did mama, I pwomise." She sniffles. "I tell him to stop. Then I tell the teacher. But he push-ed Gracie an Gracie is sick she can't be push-ed. Am in twouble now?"
Bucky reaches out and wipes away a stray tear. "No doll, you did the right thing. But now we have to talk with your principal."
"Kay."
Lottie hops off your lap and together the three of you walk out to the hallway. There you see Gracie, who Lottie defended. She looked exhausted, her hair was thinning and she wore a face mask. Immediately you got even more angry at the situation. This little girl was being bullied and instead of the teacher protecting her, the bully gets protected. The boy you assumed was the bully, Connor, was also their with his parents.
"This way please. My secretary will stay with the children."
It took half an hour and Bucky holding you back from launching yourself at the bully's mom. She had the nerve to call Lottie a freak. In the end both Lottie and the bully were suspended. The bully's mom didn't want to have her son apologize because in her words he did nothing wrong. You saw Gracie's mom deflate and the lack of empathy. She quickly got up and left to find her daughter. You were right behind her only to find Lottie and Connor arguing again. The secretary was trying to separate them.
"Mrs. Barnes will you please take Charlotte?" The secretary pleaded.
"Come here sweet angel. What happened?"
"He's being mean again." Charlotte glared at the little boy.
Connor's mom walked out of the conference room next and grabbed her son to leave. Everyone else walked out into the hallway with Bucky being last. The principal didn't bother to see what happened now and headed back to his office. Even though Gracie was silently crying. When it was just you, Bucky, Lottie, Gracie and her mom you spoke up.
"I'm so sorry this happened." You say.
"It's not your fault. I just hate that Gracie has suffered so much. As if being sick isn't enough, now she is being picked on and she had no friends." She was on the verge of tears. Before you can even reach out to her Lottie is tugging on her pants.
"That's not true. I'm Gracie's friend. And I won't let anyone be mean to her, I promise."
That does make Gracie's mom tear up and smile.
"Mama can Gracie come over and have a tea party?" Lottie looks at you with hopeful eyes.
"Only if it's ok with her mom, sweet angel."
Lottie turns back to Gracie's mom who can only nod in agreement before Lottie runs back to her new friend.
"You'll meet everyone, it's gonna be so fun."
Gracie's tears are long gone while Lottie tells her everything they can do when she comes over. She talks about Henry, Peanut, Alpine and her dear Steebie. You exchange numbers with Gracie's mom and plan a playdate soon before you head your separate ways.
"I'm very proud of you, doll. You did so good standing up for someone that needed help." Bucky says as he buckles her into her booster seat.
"I do the right thing."
"That's right. You're a mini Avenger."

Better Off
Pairing: Past Bucky x Reader
Part 1 of Little Soldier
Dear Bucky,
Two and a half years. That’s how long we had each other. It all boils down to this. I’m too emotional right now, or I’d be saying goodbye face to face. That’s what comes with being nearly twenty weeks pregnant, though. I heard you the other day, Bucky. I heard you when you were with Steve. I had gone to ask him how to tell you about our baby. Well. I guess I should say my baby now. You don’t want any bastard children, wasn’t that how you put it? That you didn’t want kids at all?
Your suspicions were clearly right. You went to him, telling him that you were worried I’m pregnant. Saying I’ve been emotional, eating differently, and napping. You wanted his advice, too, but for a very different reason. You wanted advice on how to tell me you didn’t want this. You wanted me to ‘take care of it’, or you’d have nothing to do with us.
I’m sure you can imagine my surprise hearing that. You’d never hinted that you didn’t want more. That you didn’t want kids, that they would be a deal breaker. While I was excited to share this next chapter of life with you, you were pulling away.
I found out I was pregnant when I was about 8 weeks. Do you have any idea how hard it was trying to plan the perfect surprise for when I found out what I was having? Not blurting it out? Hiding throwing up around you? Making sure that I didn’t slip up and say something that would give away what I thought would have been an amazing surprise.
Jokes on me, I guess.
We’re safe. We’re out of your hair.
If you care at this point.
Love,
Y/N/N
Bucky stared at the note in his hand. He had been right, and you’d walked away. You didn’t want anything from him. You didn’t want him to ‘be there’ for your baby. His baby. You’d chosen to be a single mother, not even fighting him on it.
Then it hit him. You said that the two of you were safe. Furrowing his brows, he went to find Tony. “You helped her leave?”
Tony barely looked up. “Yup.” He nodded. “They’re safe. End of story.” He told him, continuing to work on his newest gadget, sighing when he messed something up. “Surprised you aren’t out celebrating.” Tony muttered, clearly upset with the Winter Soldier.
“Why the hell would I be celebrating losing the woman I love?!” He snapped, angry.
Sitting up, Tony looked at him. “She told me what you said, Barnes.” He said seriously. “You were going to walk away anyway. You got your out. I’ve never seen her that upset. If Nat and Steve weren’t helping them unpack right now, I’m sure you’d be having a very different conversation with a very angry assassin.” He warned him. “I would suggest hiding when they get back, though. You don’t want to know what came out of Nat’s mouth as threats towards you. Clint hid.” He shuddered.
Bucky’s jaw clenched. “Am I not allowed to not want kids?” He asked. “Not everyone is cut out for parenthood, Stark.”
“Oh, it’s clear that not everyone is cut out for parenthood.” He agreed, going back to his work. “And no one is forcing you to be in their life, so obviously, you’re allowed. You know Nat sees her like a sister.” Everyone knew that. The pair of you had trained together from day one. You were nearly her equal, after all. “Just shows how much Y/N/N loves you. She said she wants you happy.”
He stood there for a second, trying to figure out what the hell he was feeling. “Shit.” He grumbled, storming out.
After they’d helped you move in, you hugged Nat and Steve goodbye. You watched them drive down your very long driveway before disappearing into the trees. No one had known Tony had bought a house (more like a damn mansion) in the woods in upstate New York. Not until you’d gone to him for his help. He’d told you he bought it a few years ago- along with other properties around the country. He called them his ‘just in case’ houses. And, he’d handed you the keys.
The day after you’d gone to him, he’d had a cleaning company make sure the house was clean. Two days after, he’d had furniture delivered and set up. Three days after, you were packed up, and driving to what would be your new home. Steve drove in a second car behind you, leaving you and Nat in yours. They’d spent two days with you, but had to get back.
Now you were alone in this big house. Shutting the door, you let out a small sigh. “I am here if you need anything, Miss.” Came JARVIS’s voice, making you jump and let out a small scream.
“JARVIS?!” You managed, tearing up, a small smile on your face. He made this feel more like home. Unless you were hearing things.
“Yes, Miss.” He assured you. “You’ve been shown the usual security system, but I connect your home to the tower. There are cameras that only Tony has access to in case of emergencies, and there is also a safe room in the basement.” He went on. “I will direct you to that once you have rested.”
Leave it to Tony to make it into a fort. “Thank you.” You breathed, looking around. This was your home. It was surrounded by trees, but with a decent sized backyard. Nothing like a house you would have personally bought, but it screamed Tony Stark.
You’d had your son, Dominick Paul Y/L/N in early October. The leaves had been falling, there was a nip in the air, and it made you look forward to his birthday parties years down the line. When he could ask for a Halloween themed party if he could. When he could jump in the piles of leaves.
Everyone had come to see you over the course of two weeks once you were home. Tony and Pepper had been the ones to help you get home from the hospital. It was such a strange adjustment. Having a tiny being to care for. But, you loved your son, and every sleepless moment was worth it. Tony all but whined when it wasn’t his turn to hold the small boy. He promised to be back as he hugged you goodbye days later.
Following him was Clint and Sam. Then Nat and Wanda. Then Bruce. Steve came last. You’d gotten so used to always having someone around that weeks later, your house felt far too empty for your liking. Looking down at Dominick, you smiled softly. “Maybe I’ll get your Aunts and Uncles over for Thanksgiving, handsome.”
Bucky figured that they kept in touch, but had no way to know. None of them so much as mentioned your name near him. He was training when Wanda and Nat came in, making him furrow his brows.
“His tiny hands!” Wanda said happily. “I knew he’d be small, but I’ve never really been around babies before.” She went on.
Nat nodded. “I was more surprised he had hair , honestly.” She chuckled. “I didn’t know a kid could come out with that much. I googled it when we got back to see if that was just something special. Apparently, babies born with hair isn’t uncommon.” She shrugged.
Wanda chuckled. “I hope we can get back there soon. I loved getting to cuddle him!”
“Who?” Bucky asked, surprising them. They hadn’t even noticed him there.
Nat shrugged. “One of the women that works in the tower had a little boy.” She brushed it off as nothing.
He sighed, shaking his head. Had you had the baby by now? Should he ask them? He scoffed at the idea. It was better this way. He didn’t want kids. At all. He was a monster, and he didn’t want to screw up some poor kid by being their father. You, and your kid, were a hell of a lot better off this way.
The snow came, painting your land white. With it came your son’s first Christmas.
The snow melted, letting you know that soon, flowers would be sprouting. Spring was fast approaching. Dominick was getting bigger every day.
The May showers passed, leading to hot summer days. You watched the trees move in the summer breeze as you kept Dominick in to cool indoors.
Summer heat led to the leaves turning. Signaling your son’s upcoming birthday. He was every bit a tiny version of his father. His dark hair was unruly at times, especially in the mornings. His bright blue eyes lit up when he liked something. You’d decided that you didn’t want a big birthday party for him. Just something small, as he wouldn’t remember. Getting Tony not to go overboard was another story. He’d gotten Dominick enough toys for everyone, but they’d already gotten toys, as well.
It was a bittersweet day. Knowing that his father wasn’t there. And never would be. They knew that you still loved Bucky, and this would make it hard for you.
“JARVIS! Get Tony the video!” You beamed. “Dom is walking!” You clapped as your son waddled towards you. “Come to mommy!”
“Sir, video from the house for you.” Came JARVIS’s voice one morning. A moment later, he saw Dominick walking to you. He grinned, seeing the pride on your face.
That’s how time went by. Visits from the team when they could, birthdays and Christmases almost always a promise of them coming. You never asked about Bucky, or how he was.
In time, your heart ached less and less. When Dominick was three, you got a part time job and he went into daycare. That’s when you met a man named Will. The two of you had hit it off right away, but you refused to get too serious at first. You’d been honest about your family- how could you ever hide that you were close with the Avengers? That you used to be one? The two of you had been together six months before they even knew you were seeing someone. It was nearing Dom’s fourth birthday, and you wanted them to all meet then.
You were pacing the front room while Dom and Will played outback. Nat had texted you that they were almost there, and to say you were nervous was an understatement. Finally, you heard the cars and opened your front door. Smiling as you saw your family, you stepped outside and opened your arms for them. Clint came running, acting like a giant kid who hadn’t seen their favorite relative in awhile. You laughed as he hugged you, lifting you slightly off the ground. “Alright, point me in the direction of the guy I have to threaten.” He said half jokingly.
“Be nice. Please?” You said as the others came up. “I really like him.” You said honestly. “He’s great with Dom, too.” You added, knowing that was a big concern of theirs.
Tony kissed your cheek. “I promise I left almost all my suits at home.” He smiled, chuckling as you slapped his arm. “What? I keep one nearby at all times in case of emergencies.” He shrugged. “Where’s my nephew?” He grinned, always loving time with the energetic little boy.
You chuckled, shaking your head. “He’s outback playing with Will.” You told him. “You can put his presents in the dining room. Are you guys staying the night this year?” Some nights they were able to, other times they had to get back that night.
Tony shook his head. “I gotta get back.” He told you. “I think that Clint, Nat, and Wanda are staying, though.” He shrugged.
You were relaxing with Wanda and Nat while Clint, Sam, and Steve played with Dom in the yard. Will and Tony were chatting off to the side. “I have a question.” Will glanced at him. “She doesn’t talk about Dom’s father. Ever.” He started. “She explained that she left him before he was born, and that he’s also an Avenger.” Tony nodded. “Does he ask about them? Does he ever wonder where you all vanish to?” He was curious. “Will he just...show up one day?”
Tony sighed, shaking his head. “He’s never asked. At least not me.” He said honestly. “Not since he asked me about helping her leave him.” He explained. “I have no idea what he thinks we do. I don’t really care, either. None of us talk about them around him, and he doesn’t even have an idea where they are. Hell, for all I know, he might think their in another country.” He mused. “He’s a friend, but they’re family.” He looked to Will. “And I will hurt you if you hurt them.” He said easily.
“Yeah, Nat threatened me earlier.” Will chuckled nervously. “I’m sure I’d have you all on my back, honestly.”
“And possibly Y/N. She would wipe the floor with all of us.” Tony told him. “Except maybe Banner. He’s not here. He visits without all of us. I think he likes the break from us ‘bickering’.” Which was true. They did act like a group of kids at times. It was hard, working and living together. “And JARVIS connects them for video chats sometimes.”
You smiled over at them, thankful that they seemed to get along.
Everyone was sitting around dinner one evening when an alarm went off. “Sir, there is an emergency at Miss Y/N’s.” JARVIS alerted him. Everyone paled at that.
“Bring up video. NOW.” Tony demanded, panicked.
A moment later, there was a video playing. It showed you fighting off a couple assailants. “Where’s Will?!” Nat asked, knowing that just because he didn’t have training, didn’t mean he wouldn’t fight. He loved you and Dom.
“Dead.” JARVIS told them as your thighs locked around one’s head before slamming him to the floor. Bucky’s eyes never left you. It was clear that you weren’t as sharp as you once were, but you were still holding your own. “He was the first one down. Gun shot.”
Wanda’s eyes were wide. “Where’s Dom?!” She all but yelled, worried for the boy she saw as her nephew. At almost six, he was more than aware enough that something was going on. “Please don’t tell me they got him, too.”
“He’s in the safe room.” He said as everyone started rushing out to get to you. “I will continue the feed on the Quinjet.” JARVIS told them.
It took Bucky a moment to follow, his mind trying to catch up to what was going on. Who the hell was Will? Was Dom your son? His son? Steve stopped him. “Do you think you’re in the right mind for this?” He asked, snapping from his thoughts. “It’s been years since you’ve seen her, and he won’t know who you are.” He added.
Bucky gave a quick nod. “We need all the men we can get.” He said simply.
Lying in the safe room, you had Dom’s shirt against your side. While you’d manage to take out most of the men that attacked, you’d also managed to get stabbed. You’d just barely made it to the safe room, locking both you and your son in. “Miss, the others are on their way.” He assured you. “They have a live feed, so they know what to expect.”
Dom was crying and curled into your side. “Mommy!” He sniffed, shaking.
“It’ll be okay, baby.” You breathed, trying to convince yourself, as well. You kissed the top of his head, tears in your eyes. You’d seen Will be shot, and were mourning the man that you loved. While trying to comfort your son.
As soon as they were in your house, they were fighting. “Steve! Get them from the safe room!” Tony called to the super soldier. Sam went with him, knowing that Dom would need comforting, too. They had all seen you get stabbed, and they were all worried.
Bucky kept as focused as he could. He took out a couple men before he saw Sam carrying you out, followed by Steve holding a little boy. The boy had his little arms around Steve’s neck, his face buried into the side of it. He sucked in a breath, knowing that was his son. He felt guilt wash over him. If he hadn’t said what he did, pushing you out, you wouldn’t be covering Sam in your blood. “Barnes!” Nat snapped at him seconds before a fist collided with his cheek.
Tony stayed behind to deal with the legal aftermath while the others rushed you back to the tower. Dom never let go of Steve, who sung to him. He rocked him gently, trying to calm him down. Nat stayed by your side, holding some gauze to your wound, worry filling her. She couldn’t lose you. Dom couldn’t lose you. None of them could.
Dom sniffed, looking up at Steve finally. “Will’s dead. He was gonna be my daddy when they got married.” He said sadly, breaking Steve’s heart.
“I know, buddy.” He rubbed his back. “We all liked him.” Which was true. Will was a good guy. “Wanna talk about the fun we’ve had with him? Think of happy things?” He tried, not wanting this to be what haunted Dom. Dom chewed on his lip and nodded. “Remember last Christmas? When him and Tony played rock paper scissors over who got to put together your new toy?” He smiled softly.
He nodded. “Aunt Wanda had it done before they gone done being silly.” He wiped his nose. “Did you know him and Uncle Bruce played the crossword together?” He asked. “They had a book, and they would each try to finish a page faster. Will never won.” He sighed.
Swallowing, Bucky didn’t know what to do. Dom had no idea who he was, and clearly knew the others really well. Bucky hadn’t even known you were that close! He thought that maybe you’d gone back to where you grew up to raise him. He watched his best friend and the little boy together. It was so weird. Like watching Stevie with a young him. Dom kept his hair long, just like Bucky did. Was that because of you? Or was that what he liked?
“Who’s the creepy guy watching us, Uncle Steve?” Dom ‘whispered’ to Steve, glancing at Bucky, who looked away.
Steve sighed. “An old friend of your mom’s.” He told him. “I’m sure she’ll tell you about him when she wakes up.” He rested his cheek on the top of Dom’s head. He felt Dom’s grip on him tighten again.
It had been touch and go for a few days. Bruce kept you under while the rest of the team looked after Dom. Tony had packed the small boy a bag before making his way back to the tower. He never wanted to be alone, which no one blamed him. He’d never been to the tower before, and he’d just been through something traumatic. The first night there, he had slept in Steve’s room. Which was interrupted by nightmares. JARVIS offered to play music finally, and Dom had been excited to hear the AI’s voice. Growing up with him always there meant he was a huge comfort to him.
Yawning, Steve carried him down to breakfast the next morning. Nat came over, taking him. “Morning, cutie.” She kissed his cheek. “Wanna help me make breakfast?” She offered, ignoring how Bucky watched them.
Dom shook his head, but it was Steve that spoke up. “He didn’t sleep well last night. Neither of us did. It wasn’t until he realized JARVIS is here that we got a couple solid hours in.” He told her. “I think it’s just gonna be a lot of cuddling him today.” He rubbed Dom’s back on his way by to get coffee.
“That’s okay. I don’t mind Dom cuddles.” She smiled softly at him. “Maybe later we can go see what Uncle Tony is doing in his labs?” She offered, hoping that would distract him for just a little while.
“I want my mommy.” Dom told her sadly. He’d never been away from you for long before. Only for daycare, and school. This was new for him, and he didn’t like it. Especially after seeing you covered in blood. “Can I see her?” He asked.
Nat sighed, not sure what to do. This wasn’t a situation she had ever foreseen. “Let me talk to Uncle Bruce after breakfast, okay?” She offered. “You can color with Aunt Wanda while I do that.” Seeing her nephew sag, but nod, killed her.
Bucky was never very far from Dom, trying to get to know his son through the others. It was Steve that had noticed it near the end of day three. Sam and Nat were giving Dom a bath (or...trying to), and Steve pulled his best friend to the side. “What the hell?” Bucky glared.
Steve crossed his arms over his chest. “Why are you all but stalking a six year old?” He asked. “I see him, and you aren’t far.” He pointed out, his eyes daring Bucky to contradict that. “Why?” He questioned again.
“Because he’s my son.” Bucky shrugged.
“No, he’s not.” Steve said firmly. “He’s Y/N’s son.” He corrected. He hated this, and hated knowing that he was likely hurting his best friend, but this was what Bucky had wanted. “You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say you don’t want kids, and then suddenly be obsessed with him years later. It took her a long time to move on.” He sighed. “She just lost her fiance, and Dom lost his father figure. Don’t make this harder on them by being weird.”
Bucky looked down, shaking his head. “I feel guilty, Steve.” He admitted for the first time out loud. “If I hadn’t been so against kids, if she didn’t hear me, then they wouldn’t have been in that house. She wouldn’t be fighting for her life, and he wouldn’t think of me as the ‘creepy guy’. She’d be safe. They would have been safe.” He told him.
Steve gave him a sad smile. “You can’t blame yourself.” He said gently. “You don’t want kids. Not everyone does.”
“Because I was afraid of them getting hurt. I’m a monster. They’re better off without me.”
He stared at him. “What?” He asked, confused. Not once did Bucky ever mention this when he’d told him he didn’t want kids years ago.
“You think I want to screw up some kid because they got stuck with a monster for a father?” He asked, finally looking up at Steve. “They’re better off without me. Or, so I thought.”
This honestly changed how Steve felt. He’d wanted nothing more than protect you, and Dom, from Bucky. From being hurt more by him. “Buck…” He sagged. “You aren’t a monster.” Hearing that he felt he was killed him. “Not even close.”
Bucky went to argue, but a small body went running by them, followed by Sam, and Nat. Dom was giggling, clearly making this into a game. “Come on, kid.” Sam called out. “It’s getting close to your bedtime!”
“Dominick Paul.” Nat said seriously, trying very hard not to laugh. He stopped in his tracks, knowing that meant trouble. He turned and looked up at her, his bottom lip our slightly. “If you let me get you ready for bed, you can sleep in my room tonight.” She crouched, holding up his pajamas.
He sighed. “Fine.” He agreed.
Bucky swallowed before walking away. Steve let him go, wanting to give him a moment alone before he went to talk to him again.
You groaned as you came to. “Ow.” You whined.
“Take it easy.” Came Bruce’s voice. “You’re in the tower, you and Dom are safe.” He assured you, knowing that’s where your mind would go next.
Licking your lips, you looked over at him. “How’s he holding up?” You worried about how he was handling this.
Bruce sat on the side of your bed. “He’s doing okay. First night he had a lot of nightmares. Took him realizing that JARVIS is here to let him and Steve get some sleep.” He explained. “He’s always with one of the team. He calls Bucky the ‘creepy guy’, by the way.” You groaned, knowing that you’d be coming face to face with him eventually. “He’s sleeping in Nat’s room tonight. I’ll let them know he can come say hi in the morning.”
“Thanks, Bruce.” You patted his hand. “I can’t believe Will is gone.” You managed, tearing up. Everything was hitting you again.
“We’re all sorry for your loss.” He kissed your forehead as the doors opened. “Hi, Steve.” He looked over.
“JARVIS told me she was awake.” Steve explained. “I was hoping I could talk to her for a minute?” You had a right to know what Bucky had told him.
Getting up, Bruce nodded. “I’ll go get you something to eat. After I’ll check your side.” He told you, heading out to give you two some privacy. The look on Steve’s face told him that it was important.
Steve smiled as he sat where Bruce had been. “So…” How the hell was this supposed to come out? “I talked to Bucky tonight. Confronted him, because he’s been ‘stalking’ Dom as I put it.” You sucked in a breath, worried. Why would he do that? You didn’t think he’d hurt Dom, but it made no sense. “He feels guilty. He’s blaming himself for you getting hurt, and for Dom being put in the position to see all that.” He went on. “I told him he couldn’t have it both ways. He couldn’t not want kids, and then follow Dom around the damn tower. If I saw Dom, I saw Bucky.”
“Bruce says Dom calls him the ‘creepy guy’. I get that now.” You noted.
He let out a small chuckle. “Yeah, he started calling him that on the Quinjet.” He nodded. “Bucky told me why he didn’t want kids.”
“Because he doesn’t? Remember, I heard him.” It felt like you were reopening new wounds.
“He thinks he’s a monster, Y/N.” His voice was soft. “He didn’t want to screw up a kid by him being their father. He thinks you two are simply better off without him.” He held your hand, his thumb rubbing over your knuckles. “He’d never mentioned it before today. Not even a hint.”
You stared at him. “What?” You finally breathed. You had no idea how the hell to process this. “C-can I have some time alone to think?” You asked, tearing up. You were so overwhelmed with everything that had been thrown at you.
Steve nodded, giving your hand a squeeze. “Just have JARVIS call for me if you need me.” He told you. “I’m sorry that I just laid this on you after everything, but I thought you had a right to know. Before you saw him again.”
Nodding, you gave him a small smile. “Thanks, Steve.”
Not being able to lift Dom was hard as hell. Bruce had released you, but you had a weight limit of what you could lift, and were told to keep it easy. It had only been five days since the attack on your home. Coming down to lunch, you smiled at your family. It faded as you spotted Bucky. “Hi, Bucky.” You gave him a small wave, seeing him for the first time since you were twenty weeks pregnant with Dom.
“Mommy!” Dom beamed, running over to hug your leg. He smiled up at you as you ran your hand through his hair. “I missed you.” He told you, even though he’d been visiting you.
Bucky watched how you interacted with Dom, chewing on the inside of his lip. Would you be moving out again? Would you be staying at the tower? Would you tell Dom who he was? Would you ever be able to look at him without that pain in your eyes?
You sat down, Dom dragging his chair as close as he could to yours. “So, what’s for lunch?” You asked, just wanting to move forward at the moment. You’d have a funeral to plan, choices to make, and you just couldn’t deal with it right that second. You needed to just be thankful for your family.

Sadie was an easy kid, that’s what Y/N used to tell everyone who asked her what it was like being the au pair for the daughter of a millionaire. Sadie wasn’t spoiled, she barely made a fuss and was usually happy to just play along with her toys as long as she wasn’t bothered too much. In a few words, she was the perfect kid. Today, however, she had decided that as she was reaching the end of 2 and cutting close to 3, maybe she’d ought to live out to the terrible 2s moniker that everyone seemed to know.
The redhead had closed herself in her room, ignoring every word her father said and continuing on playing with her kitchen play set as if nothing else was happening around her. Y/N had mostly let it happen, watching from the bottom of the stairs while sipping on her cup of tea. It was her day off, her day to only focus on her failing studies and, after all, she wasn’t Sadie’s mother. Why should she bother? Besides, it was rather enjoyable to watch Bucky want to rip the hairs off his head from the comfort of knowing that it wasn’t her problem.
Bucky huffed, going downstairs hoping his daughter would come out in defeat - he’d clearly forgotten where she’d gotten her attitude from. Y/N merely turned around as he faced her with a look of both exhaustion and begging.
- She’s not coming out of her bedroom.
- I see that. - she replied, shrugging while taking her cup to the sink.
- School starts in 10 minutes and she’s not coming out of her bedroom or getting dressed.
- Don’t forget they’ll only take her in if she’s there at start date plus 10 minutes after.
- What? When has that been a rule? I can’t take her to the office today, my calendar’s filled with meetings back to back.
- Should’ve thought about that this morning, huh. Besides, I’m not working for you today.
Bucky followed her as she made her way to the table to grab her laptop and pens. He didn’t remember that policy? Was there a policy like that? Well, he wouldn’t know as she’d never been late. She’d never been late before, Y/N always got her there on time. Yet again, it seemed as if Y/N was Mary Poppins and he the bad guy who couldn’t even get Sadie to brush her hair.
- Y/N, please. - he sighed. She turned around, staring at him with a look which he’d have fucked out of any other women. She was being bratty and he had no time to deal with it. He couldn’t deal with it. - I’m begging you.
- You’re begging me? - she crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow at me. - You don’t look like you’re begging to me. Besides I’ve told you, I’m not working today.
- What the fuck do you want? Do you want me to get on my knees and beg?
- Actually, yes.
- Are you kidding me?
- You have about 8 minutes before start date, you really wanna find that out?
Bucky couldn’t even get his mother to watch Sadie, she was busy with some coffee/tea social which she’d rather die than miss out on. He groaned, before getting on his knees, looking up at the au pair that he paid to look after his daughter. When did she gather this amount of power over him?
- Y/N, I am begging you, please get Sadie down and ready for school.
- Of course, Sergeant Barnes. - she uncrossed her arms, walking around him as if he wasn’t on his knees for someone younger than him with less social standing.
She, on the other hand, couldn’t help but smirk at what she’d managed to do. She didn’t think he would actually go down on his knees, she’d expected him to maybe yell and swear and eventually she would’ve ended up doing it merely for Sadie’s sake. Yet, there had he been, on his knees, begging for her help. So much for someone who threatened her job. She’d like to see him try it after today.
- Sadie. - Y/N knocked on her bedroom door, slowly and softly opening the door. - Come on, squid. It’s school time.
- No. - she replied, continuing to play with her toys.
- Oh, don’t think you have much of a choice there, squid. - Y/N opened the two year old’s wardrobe, grabbing her uniform, some socks and her shoes followed by her backpack and placed it in her bed. - You don’t need to be afraid of anyone hurting you anymore. I took care of it.
- No.
- Oh, alright. - Y/N lowered down to her level, pulling her up the ground and putting her on the bed next to the clothes. - We’ll do it like this. You either choose to put on your clothes or you choose not to watch Bluey for a week. What’s it gonna be?
- No.
- No was not one of the options I gave you, squid. Hate to do that to you, but you gotta pick one.
She begrudgingly choose to get dressed, giving a look to Y/N which she hoped would scare her but had no effect. Y/N was used to the little tantrums Sadie put whenever something didn’t go her way and she found that the best way to deal with it was ignoring it. It seemed to work with her father as he equally choose to give Y/N scary looks. She was a professional at dealing with Barnes’ tantrums by now.
- That was a good choice, Sadie. - Y/N helped her fix her hair, grabbing one of her hairbands as doing anything else was much too laborious.
- Don’t want other mummy.
Oh.
So that was it. It wasn’t Michelle’s kid. It was Anna.
- I know, squid. - she caressed her face. - I know but she wants to meet you. You don’t have to do anything else other than meet her.
- Don’t you love me anymore?
- No, Sadie. - she brought the two year old closer to her. - There’s nothing you could ever do that would make me stop loving you. You’re my favourite, you know that.
- Then why do I need another mummy?
- Because I’m not your mother, darling. You need to give your mum a chance, right? Everyone deserves a chance.
- Ok but I’m not gonna like her.
- Take your time, yeah? It means a lot to your dad if you meet her. I know you don’t want you but can you do it for daddy? Make him happy?
- No.
- What about for me? Will you do it for me? - why her heart was hurting she wasn’t sure. Although Bucky had put it in an aggressive manner he was right. Y/N wasn’t Sadie’s mum and while she had her thoughts about Anna, it was still Anna’s right to meet Sadie and maybe it was for the best.
Sadie pondered about it for a second, her face contorting into a confused expression before she ultimately nodded her head. Y/N merely smiled at her, kissing her forehead before guiding her out of her bedroom and down the stairs.
- Now you go and you have a great day. - Y/N helped her put on her backpack. - I’ll be waiting here for you when you’re back and we’ll play whatever you want.
- Promise?
- I promise.
(...)
To say Bucky was nervous was an understatement. The driver had been late to pick him up and now he was here ten minutes after the time he’d wanted to be here. His heart was beating so fast, he was sure he could feel his chest start to bruise. He’d been waiting for this day for a very long time, he’d always thought about it, how it would be when Sadie got to meet her mother. He’d always had ideas of how it would go and now as he stood in the cafe, sat next to his daughter who has happily eating her donut. He couldn’t figure out why he was so nervous. Maybe he shouldn’t have gotten here so early then he wouldn’t have had to deal with the constant looking at the clock, watching as it moved slower than a snail. God, this was hard.
The minutes continued to go by, 5 turned in ten, ten turned into twenty and twenty turned into forty. Anna was now officially twenty minutes late. His brain rationalised that she was probably caught up in a meeting, one can hardly control clients as a lawyer and Bucky himself knew how much meetings stretched and how traffic in New York was a pain. His phone buzzed on his pocket, she was probably telling him she was on her way but as his screen lit up, the narrative was a complete different one.
I’m sorry.
His heart dropped and so did his phone on the table. She said she’d be here, she said she wanted to meet Sadie, she said she was ready to meet Sadie. She said ... he didn’t know anymore, he didn’t know and soon enough the nerves turned into anger as he slammed money on the table before hurriedly guiding Sadie back to the car.
- Take us to Samson & Brothers please. - he told his driver as he buckled Sadie’s chair.
His mind was spinning faster than a spinning wheel, a mix of anger and disappointment. He could almost hear Y/N laughing at him, what she had warned him about just having happened. Yet, at the same time, the anger that he gathered against Anna over the year was back and in full fledge. He really thought she couldn’t have done worse than having left Sadie on his door step. He was wrong.
- Can you watch Sadie for a couple of minutes, Stan? I’ll pay you extra.
- That’s ok, Sergeant Barnes. We’ll have fun, won’t we Miss Sadie?
- I’ll be back, doll. - he kissed his daughter’s forehead.
He was mad. Actually scratch that, he was furious. He hadn’t gone after Anna, he hadn’t begged her to be Sadie’s mum. She’s the one who went to his office, she’s the one who asked him to meet his daughter. And he ... and now he realised how much of a naive fool he’d been. He should’ve taken things slower. Now Sadie knew, now his 2 year old knew just how much her mother didn’t care about her. His anger was the only thing who kept him walking despite Anna’s secretary begging and telling him not go into her office, yet, he didn’t care. He could buy the building if she didn’t let him in and he could bribe the security guards if they tried anything.
- Sergeant Barnes, please. She’s in a meeting, she’ll see you in a few minutes.
- I don’t give a fuck. - he opened the door to Anna’s office, clearly interrupting a meeting between her and a few other associates. - Anna, outside. Now.
- I’m in a middle of a meeting, Bucky.
- Great. Now you’re having a meeting with me. - he entered her office as if he owned it, arms crossed with a mood that was not to be played with.
- Bucky, we’ll talk after I’m done.
- No, we’re gonna talk now. That’s what you did to me yesterday wasn’t it?
She sighed, forcing a smile to her associates followed by an apology, yet she reckoned no one wanted to be left alone with Bucky. Not when he was in this mood. Anna accompanied the men to the door, before shutting it and looking at Bucky with the most annoyed face ever. As if she had the right to be annoyed.
- You can’t just barge into my office and demand to see me, Barnes. Are you crazy?
- You promised me, Anna. You promised me you’d show up.
- I’m sorry. - she sighed. - I really am sorry, Bucky, but I can’t do this.
- She’s 2, I hardly think she’s hard to impress. Just tell her you like Bluey or that her hair looks nice.
- Bucky, I don’t want to be a mother.
- If you don’t want to be a mother why did you want to meet her then? She’s two years old, Anna. Two. She doesn’t understand things. Heck, I don’t understand you.
- I thought I needed to tell her, that I needed to apologise to her for not being her mother but I ... I just can’t.
- Oh trust me, I’m sure she knows that you don’t want to be her mother considering you did not show.
- Oh cut me some fucking slack, James. You act as if you wanted to be a father.
- I didn’t want to be a father but when a baby, my baby, is dropped in front of my door, tough fucking luck, Anna.
- I have apologised to you countless times about that. I was scared and I was young ...
- Oh shut up. - he interrupted her. - You were 36 when she was born, Anna. You weren’t some teenager who had a prom night baby, you knew fucking better.
- I’m sorry, James. I’m sorry but I had just had a kid I didn’t want, I’d just have a baby and you didn’t know and I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to give her away with you knowing her first, I thought you were at least worth that. I’m sorry, I really am but I’m not cut out to be a mother. You know that.
- I thought I wasn’t cut out to be a father either yet here I am.
- I know, Bucky, I know. I know but you’re a father and you’re great, but I still don’t want to be a mother. I don’t have it, I don’t want it, I don’t want a family, it’s not what I want. It’s never what I wanted.
- You’re a fucking coward, Anna. You didn’t care, you don’t care, and you ... fuck, just meet her. Just see her, I don’t care if you’re there all the time but just hang out with her once a month, I don’t ...
- I know you want a mother for Sadie. - she interrupted him. - But that’s not me. I gave birth to her and that’s all, Bucky. I thought that maybe I should tell her but I don’t want to make it more complicated than it is. I’m sorry I can’t be her mother.
- You know what Anna? That better be your fucking final choice because if you ever change your mind, you better fucking have a good lawyer because as far as I’m concerned, you’re dead to me.
He didn’t know what else to do. How was he gonna explain it to Sadie? I’m sorry Sadie but your mum only wanted to see you to tell you she didn’t want to be your mother? How was she even ever gonna get over this? It was hard enough as it was. He fumbled the bag, he fumbled the bag really bad. God, he’d even let his driver watch over his daughter. What kind of father was he any way? A lousy one. A lousy father.
He made his way outside the building, standing by the door as he saw Y/N standing there, holding Sadie against her hip.
- You’re here.
- She needed me.

Ooo hii can I please request a Bucky x fem!reader where Y/n has had necromancy powers ever since she was a little girl (definitely made growing up hard because it’s hard to tell the difference when she’s talking to a ghost and when she’s talking to a living person , and the adults in her life never believed her). Now, as an adult, she lives with the Avengers at their HQ (not officially an Avenger, though Steve has been trying to convince her to become one for years). She had met Steve not that long after Loki’s attack on NY, he found a very overwhelmed Y/n talking to herself in an alley (a lot of people died after the attack so she would’ve had a lot of ghosts trying to talk to her), her eyes glow when she’s using her powers so Steve put two and two together that she’s probably a mutant. He convinced her to live with the Avengers and said he believes her when she tells him what she can do. Anyways, one day she somehow runs into The Winter Soldier (before CA: Winter Soldier), and Bucky has briefly woken up from being brainwashed and ran away from Hydra, and the two of them fall in love, only for Hydra to find him and force him back and Y/n ends up finding out she’s pregnant after he’s gone🥺. She refuses to tell her friends (The Avengers) who the father is and what happened to him but they promise they’ll be there for her🥺 She has a daughter and the Avengers help her raise her (Steve can’t help but think that this little girl is the spitting image of Bucky, but he knows it can’t be true because he “died” in 1945). Fast forward to after Steve finds out his best friend is alive, and he tracks him down to Romania, Steve brings Bucky back to the Avengers Compound (The Avengers never broke up) and the first person he sees is Y/n, with a 4 year old little girl who looks just like him🥺 (they’d both start crying and be so shook and run into each others arms🥺)
They’d have a lot of explaining to do to the other Avengers lol
Spitting Image Of Him » Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier

Not long after Loki’s attack on New York, you could still hear the voices of the people who didn’t make it. You’ve had necromancy powers since you were a kid. Meaning, you can hear the voices of the ghosts of dead people and sometimes it’s hard for you to know if you’re talking to an alive person or not.
Today was one of those days of you. You could hear the voices of the people who didn’t make it from Loki’s attack. You made a beeline to an alleyway. You sat down on the concrete, leaning your back against the brick wall. You covered your ears to try to tune out the voices of those people, which works sometimes.
“Not real.” You kept repeating to yourself.
Steve’s enhanced hearing picked up the sound of a voice as he was walking down the street. He heard it coming from the alleyway he was about to walk past. He followed the sound of the voice, leading him to you. Steve saw you sitting on the ground with your ears covered.
“Ma’am, are you ok?” Steve asks softly.
You yelped when you heard a new voice. You uncovered your ears and looked up at the man. Your mind was all over the place that you couldn’t tell if he was a ghost or not.
“Are you a ghost?” You asked in a shaky voice.
“No.” He answers.
You continued to stare at him, trying to figure out if he’s alive or a ghost. Steve crouched down in front of you. You pressed yourself more against the brick wall.
“Can I see your hand?” He asks.
You silently stared at him for a few seconds before extending your hand to him. Steve gently put your hand on his chest where his heart is. You relaxed when you felt his heartbeat.
“I’m not a ghost.” He assures. “What’s your name?” He asks.
“Y/N.” You answered quietly.
“I’m Steve.” He introduces himself.
Steve watched your eyes glow. That was enough to tell him that you have powers of some kind.
“Come with me.” Steve says, standing up and holding his hand out to you.
“Where?” You asked, looking up at him.
“I’m going to help you out and give you a place to stay.” He says.
You slowly put your hand in his and stood up. Steve took you to the Avengers compound. You’ve seen the building from the outside, but you’ve never been inside before.
“What is this place?” You asked, looking around.
“Avengers compound.” Steve answers.
Steve lead you to the lounge room where the Avengers are.
“Guys, this is Y/N. She’s going to be staying with us.” Steve says to the Avengers.
The Avengers introduced themselves to you. You gave them a smile and shyly waved at them.
“I’ll show you to your room.” Steve says.
You nodded and followed him to the floor where the bedrooms are. Steve opened the door to an empty bedroom, allowing you to walk in the room first. The bedroom was already full with a bed, nightstand, dresser, and a TV. There was also a closet and a bathroom in there.
“My room is right next door if you ever need anything.” Steve says, pointing to the right.
You smiled and nodded.
“I’ll let you rest now. Let me know if you need anything.” He says.
You nodded and he left the room.
It didn’t take you long to adjust to living in the Avengers compound. It took a few weeks for you to adjust to your new living arrangements.
“Hey, Y/N.” Steve smiles as he walks in your room. “Have you thought any more about becoming an Avenger?” He asks as he sat down on your bed.
“No. The thought of it is cool, but I need more time to think about it.” You say.
“That’s ok. Take all the time you need.” He says softly, putting a comforting hand on your knee.
You smiled at him.
Later that same day, you were walking down the street. You weren’t sure where you were going. You just wanted to clear your mind. You were looking down at the ground as you were walking and you accidentally bumped into someone. You lost your balance and fell to the ground, making an “Oof” noise.
“Sorry.” The man says.
He holds out his hand for you. You looked up at him and put your hand in his. You gave him a smile as he helped you up.
“Thank you, sir.” You smiled.
“You’re welcome.” He smiles back. “I’m James, but everyone I know calls me Bucky.” He introduces himself.
“I’m Y/N.” You introduced yourself.
You couldn’t help but notice how handsome Bucky is. Bucky admired your beauty as well.
“You’re handsome.” You blurted out.
“Thank you, doll. You’re gorgeous as well.” Bucky says with a smile.
You blushed when he called you gorgeous. Goosebumps appeared on your skin when Bucky’s right hand cupped your cheek, his thumb rubbing against your skin.
“I have a strong feeling that we’re going to get along well.” He says softly.
“Me too.” You say, smiling up at him.
Over the next few days, you managed to sneak out of the compound without any of the Avengers noticing. You went to the small apartment Bucky is currently hiding out at. You and Bucky have your own knock when you two knock on the door so you two know it’s each other and not anyone else.
“Come in, doll.” Bucky whispers, taking a quick peak left and right to make sure you weren’t followed.
You quickly went inside his apartment. Bucky closed the door and locked it. He then greeted you with a sweet kiss. He put on his hands on your waist and pulled you against him. You smiled against his lips and put your hands on his chest.
“I was wondering when you were going to come by.” He says softly.
“I have to be sneaky around the people I live with when I leave.” You say with a small giggle.
You told Bucky that you live with a few people, but you didn’t tell him that they’re the Avengers. You don’t want him to think you and them are after him, in which you’re not. You and Bucky are still getting to know each other and have a good thing going.
“You know how much I love you?” He asks softly.
“The kisses you give me tell me how much you love me.” You smiled.
“I’ll give you more kisses to show you how much I love you.” He murmurs, kissing you sweetly and passionately.
You ended up losing track of time and spent the night with Bucky that night. As you were sleeping peacefully in Bucky’s arms, he heard all too familiar footsteps outside the door. His heart started pounding. He was expecting HYDRA or whoever was outside the door to break down the door, but it was just the opposite. He seen a folded piece of paper slide under the door and inside the apartment. Bucky carefully and quietly got out of bed so he didn’t wake you up. He picked up the paper and unfolded it, reading what it says. He used the street lights shining into the apartment as light to read.
Soldat, we know you escaped. We also know you got yourself a girlfriend. If you want her to stay unharmed, you return to us. If you don’t, you’ll see her all bruised and bloody. We will use force to make you return to us if we have to.
Bucky’s jaw clenched at the part of the note where they threatened to beat you bloody and bruised. He crumpled up the piece of paper and threw it somewhere in the apartment and ran his fingers through his long hair. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
“Bucky?” You mumbled.
“Sorry, doll. I didn’t mean to wake you.” Bucky apologizes softly.
“It’s ok.” You rubbed your eyes and sat up, turning on the bedside lamp. “What are you doing up?” You asked.
Bucky walked over to the bed and sat down in front of you, putting his hands in yours.
“Remember when I told you about HYDRA?” He asks.
You nodded, waiting for him to continue.
“Well…” He starts in a shaky voice. “They found out I escaped and they threatened to hurt you if I don’t go back to them.” He explains.
“No.” You said, your heart dropping to the pit of your stomach. “Please don’t go back.” You pleaded, your voice cracking.
“I don’t want to go back, but I want you to be safe.” He says.
Bucky watched a tear roll down your cheek.
“It’s going to be ok, doll.” He whispers, pulling you in for a hug.
He let you cry it out for a few minutes before kissing you passionately. He wiped your tears away with his thumbs and looked deep in your eyes.
“I want you to know that I love you more than anything, babydoll.” He whispers.
“I love you too, Bucky.” You whispered back.
Bucky went back to HYDRA immediately. He didn’t want them to lay a finger on you so he did what they told him to do.
A few days later, you were staring at a positive pregnancy test. You were in shock that you didn’t know what to do at first. You didn’t even hear the bathroom door open.
“Y/N, are you ok?” Natasha asks softly.
You yelped and jumped when you heard her voice, dropping the pregnancy test on the bathroom floor. Natasha picked it up for you, her eyes widening when she seen that it’s positive.
“You’re pregnant?” She asks.
You nodded your head yes, nervously fiddling with your fingers. You were caught off guard when she hugged you. You hugged her back.
“Congratulations!” She smiles.
“Thank you, Nat.” You say quietly.
“Do you know who the father is?” She asks curiously.
“No.” You lied.
You then went to the conference room where Steve and the rest of the Avengers are. Natasha followed you behind you.
“Y/N has something to tell everyone.” Natasha says, putting a comforting hand on your shoulder.
The Avengers stopped what they were doing and turned their attention to you. You felt nervous as hell under their stares.
“I’m pregnant.” You announced to everyone.
Everyone jumped up from their seats to hug you and congratulate you. You smiled at them and thanked them.
“Do you know who the father is?” Steve asks.
“No.” You lied again.
You feel bad about lying to the Avengers about not knowing who the father is, but you don’t want them to know that it’s Bucky. Especially Steve. How do you tell your friend that you’re pregnant with his best friend’s baby? For now, you’re just going to keep it to yourself.
The Avengers were very helpful throughout your pregnancy. They got you what you need for the baby. They also set everything up in the nursery, putting girl stuff in there. When it was time for the baby to be born, Steve was right by your side during the whole thing. You had a baby girl and named her Lucy. Steve held her as you took a nap.
“You’re adorable.” Steve coos at Lucy, smiling down at her.
Steve hums to himself when he notices something interesting about Lucy.
“You know, you look like someone I knew years ago.” He says to her.
The more he looked at Lucy, the more he notices a resemblance of Bucky. His eyes widened.
No… could he be- no. Bucky fell off the train in 1945. He witnessed it.
4 YEARS LATER
The more Lucy grew and got older, she resembles Bucky even more. She just turned 4 and looks like a spitting image of him. Steve noticed it and it blew his mind how this little girl looks like his best friend. Lucy’s hair and eyes are the same colors as Bucky’s, along with her facial features.
“Are you sure you don’t know who the father is?” Steve asks you once more.
“I don’t know who he is.” You lied once again.
Steve didn’t want to keep badgering you on it so he dropped it. He still thought about his suspensions though.
If Bucky is alive, why didn’t he come find Steve? How did he even survive the fall off the train? No one can survive that.
“Uncle Steve!” Lucy shouts, snapping him out of his thoughts.
Steve smiles when he sees his niece running toward him. He picked her up and hugged her.
“I want to go to the park please.” She says, giving him her best puppy dog eyes.
“It’s too cold to go to the park, princess.” Steve says softly, referring to the snow outside.
Lucy huffed and crossed her arms over her chest with a pout on her face. Steve couldn’t help but smile at how cute she’s being.
“Why don’t you go color?” He suggests. “I have to talk to uncle Sam and aunt Natasha.” He says, gently putting her back down on the floor.
Lucy nods and runs to the lounge room where she left her coloring books and coloring supplies. Steve went to find Steve and Natasha, finding them in the conference room talking.
“Hey guys, I need your help with something.” Steve says.
“With what?” Sam asks.
“Tracking down someone.” He says.
“Who do you need to track down?” Natasha asks.
“My friend Bucky.” He says.
“I thought you said he fell off a train in 1945?” Sam says.
“I did, but now I’m thinking he somehow survived it.” He says.
“What makes you think that?” Natasha asks.
“Y/N’s daughter looks a lot like Bucky.” He says.
Sam and Natasha stared at Steve like he’s crazy.
“I know it sounds crazy, but I’m thinking that Bucky is Lucy’s father.” Steve says.
Sam’s and Natasha’s eyebrows shot up at his theory.
“Are you guys going to help me or not?” He asks.
Sam and Natasha agreed to help Steve. After a lot of research, Steve finally found the answers he was looking for. Bucky is alive and is hiding out in an apartment in Bucharest, Romania. Steve’s mind is blown. All this time, he thought his best friend was dead when he’s actually alive.
“Hey guys. Have you seen Lucy? It’s her lunchtime.” You say, poking your head in the conference room.
“She’s coloring in the lounge room.” Steve tells you.
After a couple days, Steve came up with a plan to get Bucky from Romania and bring him home. He told the Avengers to keep an eye on you so you didn’t suspect a thing. Steve was about to get on the quinjet, but Lucy stopped him before he could.
“Uncle Steve, where are you going?” Lucy asks before Steve got on the quinjet.
“I have something important to do.” Steve tells her.
“Is it a mission?” She asks curiously.
“Kinda.” He says.
“Can I come with you please?” She asks.
“I wish you could, but you can’t, sweetheart.” He says.
Lucy huffed loudly and crossed her arms over her chest with a pout on her face, sitting down on the floor. Steve crouched down in front of her.
“If it makes you feel better, I have a big girl mission for you.” Steve says.
“Big girl mission?” Lucy asks.
Steve smiles and nods.
“Your mission is to protect mommy till I get back.” He tells her.
“I can do that!” She says loudly.
Steve smiles and kissed the top of her head.
“I’ll be home before you know it, peanut.” He says, playfully ruffling her hair.
Lucy gave him a hug for good luck before running to find you. Steve smiles as he watched her to find you before getting on the quinjet.
“Mommy!” Lucy shouts throughout the compound.
“Yes, sweetie?” You say, walking out of the kitchen.
“I have a mission!” She announces, standing tall in front of you as if she were in the Army.
“Oh yea? What might that be?” You asked curiously.
“Uncle Steve gave me a big girl mission to protect while he’s gone.” She says.
“Ooh! I’m definitely going to be protected, princess.” You say.
“It’s Sergeant Princess!” She says.
“Oh, my apologies, Sarge.” You say, playfully saluting her.
Meanwhile, Steve found where Bucky is currently staying in Bucharest. The apartment Bucky has been staying is small, but it looks like he tried to make it as homey as he could. After a few minutes, Steve turned around to see Bucky standing a few feet behind him.
“Do you know who I am?” Steve asks.
Bucky stared at him silently for a few seconds before answering him.
“You’re Steve. I read about you in the museum.” Bucky finally answers.
Steve nods.
“I’m not here to fight you or anything. I’m here to bring you home where you belong.” Steve says.
“Where’s home?” Bucky asks.
“New York.” He says.
“Thanks for the offer, but I’m staying here.” He says.
Steve didn’t want to have to resort to you as an option, but it looks like he has no choice.
“Y/N Y/L/N.” Steve says.
“Y/N?” Bucky asks softly.
“Yes. Do you know her?” He asks curiously.
“Yes.” He said. “Is she ok?” He asks with worry in his voice.
“She’s more than ok, but she needs you more than you think.” He says softly.
“Take me to her.” He says.
Steve felt relieved that Bucky finally agreed to go home with him. Meanwhile, Lucy is being the mini Avenger Steve said she could be while he was gone. You, on the other hand, are curious to know why Steve went on a mission without any of the Avengers.
“Do you guys know why Steve went on a mission without any of you guys?” You asked the Avengers.
The didn’t say anything. They just shrugged their shoulders. You stared at them, narrowing your eyes a bit and crossed your arms over your chest, giving them the mom stare. They know that look all too well from when you give that look to Lucy.
“No matter how long you look at us like that, we’re not telling you where Steve went.” Tony says.
You sighed and went to see what your daughter is up to. You found Lucy in her bedroom playing with her stuffed animals and drawing on blank pieces of different colored construction paper.
“Hi, mommy!” Lucy smiles up at you. “Do you want to color with me?” She asks, holding up a piece of paper and a marker toward you.
“I would love to, sweetie.” You smiled.
You sat down on the floor across from her and started drawing doodles on the paper that Lucy handed you.
The next day, Steve brought Bucky to the compound. Bucky was nervous, but excited to see you.
“Sam, where’s Y/N?” Steve asks.
“She’s picking Lucy up from preschool. She should be back any minute.” Sam says.
“Who’s Lucy?” Bucky asks, looking from Sam to Steve.
Steve and Sam stayed quiet. Steve so desperately wanted to tell his best friend that Lucy is his daughter, but it’s not his place to tell him.
“Let’s just wait for Y/N.” Steve says.
You and Lucy walked in the lounge room a short moment later. You stopped in your tracks when you seen Bucky.
“Bucky?” You say, completely speechless.
“Hi, doll.” Bucky says softly and smiles.
You walked over to him and hugged him tightly. Bucky wrapped his arms around you, holding you close to him. Tears of happiness rolled down your cheeks, along with Bucky. Lucy was standing a couple feet away in a state of confusion.
“Mommy, who is he?” Lucy asks, pointing at Bucky.
You pulled away from Bucky and looked at your daughter. Bucky looked at her too, his eyes widening when he noticed that Lucy is a spitting image of him. Steve and Sam left the room, leaving the three of you alone so you can explain everything to Bucky and Lucy.
“I owe everyone an explanation and I might as well start with you two.” You say.
Bucky and Lucy sat down on the couch while you stood in front of nervously and fiddled with your fingers. You took a deep breath before saying anything.
“Bucky, I found out I was pregnant with your baby shortly after you went back to HYDRA. Lucy is your daughter. She’s 4 years old.” You explained.
Bucky’s eyes went wide when you said that. He’s in complete shock from what he just heard. Lucy looked up at him with a curious look on her face.
“You’re my daddy?” Lucy asks.
“I guess I am.” Bucky says.
Lucy crawled onto Bucky’s lap and hugged him. Bucky hugged her back. He felt a new warmth in his heart. You smiled at the two of them as they hugged.
“I’ll let you guys get to know each other while I explain everything to everyone else.” You say.
You left the room and went to the conference room where all of the Avengers are. All of them turned their attention to you when you walked in the room.
“I owe all of you an explanation.” You said nervously. “This may be a surprise to all of you, especially Steve.” You began. “First of all, let me start off by apologizing for lying to all of you. I do know who Lucy’s father is and her father is Bucky. Before I got pregnant with Lucy, him and I were in love.” You explained.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” Natasha asks.
“I don’t know.” You mumbled and shrugged.
You looked down to avoid eye contact with any of them. Steve walked over to you and hugged you.
“It’s ok. We understand.” Steve whispers.
“You do? You’re not mad at me?” You asked.
“I’m not mad.” He says softly.
You smiled and hugged him.
“Thanks for understanding.” You murmured. “I’m going to check on Lucy and Bucky.” You say.
You went back to the lounge room to see Lucy and Bucky getting along perfectly.
“I see you two are getting along very well.” You say.
“Me and daddy have the same color eyes!” Lucy says.
“That’s right, sweetie. You do.” You smiled.
You sat down on the couch next to Bucky.
“I’m sorry for not telling you sooner.” You apologized to Bucky.
“You don’t have to apologize, doll. I’m just happy you’re giving me a chance to be a father to Lucy.” Bucky says.
You smiled and pecked his lips softly.
“I love you, Bucky.” You murmured softly.
“I love you too, babydoll.” He whispers.
“I love you guys too!” Lucy chimes in.
“We love you, princess.” You and Bucky say in unison and gave her lovings.

Word Count: 1.2k
SERIES MASTERLIST
With Y/N being almost 9 months pregnant and knowing that twins never come on their actual due date, Bucky was freaking out a bit. He spent every day checking to ensure every bag was packed, the car was ready, and that you were comfortable. But when you shook him awake, telling him that your water broke, he was panicking. He quickly jumped out of bed, pulling on a shirt and sweatpants before taking you to the car. He ran back inside to grab Logan who cutely asked “Baby sisters are coming?”
Bucky couldn’t believe he was going to be a dad again. Yes, again. Just because he became Logan’s father when the boy was 5, doesn’t mean he’s going to see the birth of the twins as his first time being a father. Just because his little girls were biologically his doesn’t mean his little boy isn’t his. He did his best to reassure Logan that nothing would change between them when the girls arrived, that’d he would love him just the same. He dropped Logan off at Steve’s house before taking you both to the hospital. The nurses got you situated and now you had to play the waiting game.
Hour 3 - 4 centimeters dilated
Y/N was laying in her bed as Bucky sat next to her bed, holding her hand “How long were you in labor with Logan for?” he asked “6 hours. I walked my way to the hospital and just slid out of me after that” you told him. Every year you told Logan about the day he was born, leaving out the part where Brock basically forced you to go by yourself (a/n my mom does this for me every year and i love it). Bucky’s eyes widened at that information “You walked to the hospital?! God I hate that prick, wanna fucking choke him out” he muttered as you giggled “It’s fine baby. I clearly got him out right? Now we have an adorable 6-year-old running around” Bucky smiled softly at the mention of his son “Yeah we do” he kissed the back of your hand.
Hour 6 - 6 centimeters dilated
Y/N groaned and threw her head back against the hospital before looking down at her belly “It cannot be that comfortable in there. I know you want to meet us. Do you know how you can do that? By getting out of me” she huffed as Bucky held back a laugh “They’ll be here soon doll. We can’t force them out” he reasoned with you as you whined “I know but they make me huge and I’m tired of them using my bladder as a kickball” you pouted with Bucky standing up to kiss your head “Just a little longer”
Hour 10 - 7 centimeters dilated
The nurse suggested walking around the hospital floor to help speed up the process a bit and you would do anything to get these girls out of you. Bucky held your hand as he walked beside you. “Babe help me get my mind off this, talk to me about something” you suggested as Bucky thought for a moment “What’s your dream wedding?” he asked and you looked at him with a small smile “Well, when I was younger I always thought I would make everything pink” she giggled “It seemed perfect in my head, but now…I don’t know. My last wedding wasn’t anything special. Just a ride to the courthouse because Brock didn’t want to pay for a wedding. Got a little white dress from target and made the biggest mistake of my life. The only good thing that man gave me was Logan and he’s barely getting any credit for that. I’m not sure what I would want my dream wedding to be yet, but when I figure it out I’ll let you know” you looked up at him as Bucky kissed your cheek “Whatever you want, it’s yours” he smiled softly, a fond look overtaking his eyes
“I love you so much Buck”
“I love you too”
Hour 15 - 9 centimeters dilated
You were about to cry you were so frustrated. You were almost at the finish line but it felt so far away and you were losing hope that your twins were coming anytime soon. Bucky did his best to keep your spirits up with his words of encouragement. “It’s okay pretty girl, we’ll meet them soon. They just like being this close with their mama” he told you. “But I wanna hold them” you cried “I want them out of me and in my arms. Oh- what if they have your eyes? Or my eyes? Aw they’re gonna be beautiful” Bucky chuckled “Of course they will darling” he caressed your cheek “Just a little longer, you got this, my strong girl”
Hour 18 - 10 centimeters dilated
When the doctor confirmed that you were fully dilated and ready to push, you started to panic a bit. You’ve given birth before but to twins? What if something goes wrong? What if they take even longer to come out? You looked over at Bucky and whimpered a bit “I’m scared” you admitted to him and he went to cup your face in his hands “You can do this. They’re finally ready to come. And all of this is going to be so worth it when we’re looking at our little princesses right?” he told you as you nodded and took a deep breath and started to push when you were told.
Hour 20
After pushing for what felt like forever, you finally gave birth to Aurora and Arabella Barnes. You’ve always wanted to do the stereotypical twins have the same first letter with their names and plus you found the names pretty adorable. You were holding Aurora and Bucky was holding Arabella. They were fast asleep and swaddled in their blankets with little baby hats on their head and they were the most perfect little things you’ve ever seen, along with their brother of course.
They haven’t opened their eyes yet and you knew they would barely be able to see anything but you wanted to see what their eyes would look like. They had Bucky’s nose, your lips, little chin dimples, they were perfect. You looked up at Bucky and saw that he was crying “Aw babe…” you smiled at him and he looked over at you “I just..oh my god” he sniffled a bit “Look at ‘em. They’re our babies” you giggled “Yeah they are honey”
You looked back down at Aurora and saw she opened her eyes and gasped at what you saw “Bucky, Bucky! Look at her eyes” you grinned and teared up as you saw that she had one blue eye…and one brown eye. “Oh my god” he whispered “Whoa…” “I know!” you giggled and leaned down to kiss her nose “Hi pretty girl, I’m your mama. I’m so glad you and your sister are finally here” you said to her, watching Aurora as she squirmed a little.
Your full attention was on her you almost didn’t hear Bucky’s gasp. “Doll, guess who just opened their eyes?” your eyes widened as he brought Arabella closer to you and saw that her eyes were the same as her sisters. “Our baby girls” you looked up at him and leaned up to kiss him, happy that you both walked in as a family of three, leaving as a family of five.

How often does Dad!Bucky get hit on when he's in the baby aisle grabbing diapers?
A lot, Cia! And you get to see it one day.
The Dad Diaries: Diaper Aisle
Pairing: Dad!Bucky Barnes x Female Reader Summary: You witness a woman flirting with Bucky, but you don't react the way you expect. Word Count: Almost 1.2k Warnings: Fluff, flirting, reflecting, first time dad, slight feels (it's me), parenthood, random woman thirsty for Bucky (we get it), Bucky Barnes (he's a warning and a dad, okay?). A/N: Next part of The Dad Diaries and from your perspective. Hope you lovelies enjoy. ❤️ Not beta read and written on my phone, so any and all mistakes are my own. Divider by the talented @firefly-graphics. Please follow @navybrat817-sideblog for new fics and notifications. Comments, reblogs, feedback are loved and appreciated!

Bucky doesn’t like to make a big deal out of people flirting with him. For starters, he’s a married man and has made it clear that he has no intention of ever stepping out on you. He would never. You are his wife and soulmate, the love of his life, and the mother of his child. You’re all he needs.
Second, he’s unassuming. You tell him regularly how handsome he is, but he isn’t arrogant about his looks and doesn’t think every woman who looks his way has the intention of hitting on him. He may give a polite smile or nod if he catches someone staring, but will immediately divert his attention back to the task at hand, such as getting those diapers for Jamie.
Fatherhood is sexy on him.
“Your Dada is amazing,” you say to Jamie as you wait beside your cart for Bucky to grab the box.
You smile to yourself when a woman nearly runs her cart into the shelving when Bucky walks past. Not that you blame her for staring. With his luscious locks flowing free, his worn jean jacket fitting like it was made for him, and the sweatpants leaving little to the imagination, you would’ve gawked at him, too.
Which you did earlier and were now.
“Excuse me,” the woman calls out loudly, making Bucky pause as he puts the box under his arm. “So sorry to bother you, but would you mind grabbing a jar for me off the top shelf? I would really appreciate it.”
“No problem,” he says, giving you a small smile from across the aisle as he goes to help the woman.
You wait patiently as the lady thanks him with a grin. You get why she wants Bucky close by. Beyond his overall gorgeousness and kindness, he displays a responsible side of himself when he walks through the baby aisle. He never carries himself in a way that says he’s annoyed or inconvenienced by being there. Carefully selecting the diapers and anything else needed shows how attentive he is. And responsible.
You understand the appeal.
Though, you do wish the lady would stop undressing your husband with her eyes. You practically hear her inhale when he’s close enough. He does smell good, but does she have to step into his space?
“This one?” Bucky asks.
The woman has to blink a few times before she responds. “Oh, sorry. The one next to it. You really are too kind,” she answers, sweeping her gaze over him from head to toe as he reaches over for another jar. You have to bite the inside of your cheek when she takes it from his hand. “It’s too bad you can’t help me bring this stuff in when I get home.”
Yeah, it is too bad.
Clearing his throat, Bucky nods in your direction. “Well, my son might miss me if I’m away for too long. And I’ll miss him and my wife.”
The woman goes rigid as she looks your way. “Your wife?”
Bucky smiles from ear to ear when you wave. “Yeah, my wife,” he proudly states, making your heart skip a beat.
Any jealousy or bad feeling you have slips away when you see some of the light leave the woman’s eyes and the sag in her shoulders. It’s almost like seeing her in a different light because you know how you’ve felt since giving birth. At times, you feel less attractive than normal, that your body won’t be the way it used to be. You wonder if Bucky still wants you.
And you want to be seen.
While you don’t know her story, you understand the need to feel wanted and desired. It doesn’t go away when you become a mother. You don’t even know if she is a mother or if she’s in the aisle shopping for a sister, friend, or someone else. Maybe her partner isn’t giving her the attention she needs. Maybe she isn’t with anyone.
Maybe she just needed a win today.
“Take care,” Bucky says politely before he walks toward you, leaving the woman alone to stare after him. “Anything else we need?” He asks once he puts the diapers on the bottom of the cart, giving Jamie a small tickle and making all three of you smile.
“I think we’re good,” you say, glancing down the aisle. You could grab Bucky’s hand and stake your claim as the woman makes eye contact with you, but you give her a small nod and a sympathetic smile instead before you push the cart away. “That was nice of you to help her,” you say once you’re out of sight.
Bucky raises an eyebrow as he glances your way. “I don’t usually say this outright, but I’m pretty sure she was hitting on me.”
“Oh, she was,” you agree.
“Does that bother you?” He asks, brushing a kiss to your temple and making your heart race.
You shake your head as you think about it. “It did at first because it’s only natural to feel that way, but it went away pretty quickly. I have no reason to feel jealous or defensive. If it would’ve been bad or crossed a line, I would’ve stepped in. But you proudly proclaimed that I’m your wife and she backed off right away. And I know you’re coming home with Jamie and I, so why would I let it bother me?” you explain, spotting something soft in his gaze.
Like he’s amazed by you.
“That makes sense,” he says.
“I can only hope that someone like you comes along for her,” you add, your heart going out to the stranger.
The blue of Bucky’s eyes shine a bit brighter when you catch his gaze. “I love you,” he says so tenderly that you feel butterflies in your stomach and heart.
“I love you, too,” you promise before you nudge him. “And you know what? I don’t fault her at all. You know what wearing those pants does to people. It’s like some sort of sexy magic.”
His nose crinkles as he laughs, the sound making a few turn their heads. Once again, you don’t blame them for gawking. “Did you just say ‘sexy magic’ in front of our son? Is that why you like these pants?”
“Oh, yeah. You put a spell on me,” you smirk before you smile gently at your son. “And I’m very lucky for that because now I have you.”
You don’t know it yet, but Bucky will write in his diary to Jamie about how you handled yourself today. How you could’ve stormed over and grabbed him or made a snide comment to the woman, but you didn’t. And that if you felt jealous, even for a moment, you didn’t let it cloud your judgement. You know when to observe and when you need to step in. You know when to lead with your heart.
Just one of the many reasons Bucky Barnes considers himself lucky to call you his wife and the mother of his child.
And no matter how many times he gets hit on in the diaper aisle, he’ll always come home to you.
I adore this family. Love and thanks for reading! ❤️

Anymore - Chapter 7
Summary: Bucky tells you to do whatever you need in order to move on from Steve.
What to expect: fluff, angst

There was an immediate change in your demeanor, and Bucky noticed it.
“Babydoll?” he softly spoke – wanting to know what had been sent to you. “Is everything alright?” You sniffled and wiped the tears from your cheeks before handing him the phone. When he saw what had been sent to you, he grew furious. Without thinking, Bucky typed up and sent a response.
When you realized what he had done, you glared at the super soldier.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” you scoffed – snatching your phone from him. “I already have one of you being an asshole…last thing I need is for both of you to be dicks.”
Bucky closed his eyes and covered his face with his hands. “I’m sorry,” he apologized. “Just can’t stand it when he hurts you.”
“Please don’t stoop to his level, Buck,” you pleaded with teary eyes.
He looked down and nodded. “It won’t happen again, babydoll.”
You absentmindedly nodded, and your hand made its way to your stomach – starting to rub the small baby bump. Bucky looked down and noticed this – watching your hand move back and forth slowly. The words were on the tip of his tongue, but he didn’t know if he should ask or not. He wanted so badly to make you feel like you weren’t alone in this situation, but he was afraid that you wouldn’t let him actually do it.
“C-Can I uh,” he began stuttering – hovering his hand over yours. “Would you-you mind if I—”
“Please,” you practically pleaded with tears in your eyes.
Bucky gently kissed your lips with his, and he carefully placed his hand on top of your small baby bump. His hand slowly and lovingly rubbed the little bump while your tongues danced. There was something about his touch that made you feel whole. The moment was something you never wanted to end, but unfortunately, the sound of a text message broke the two of you apart with a sigh.
“Should we talk to him?” you asked Bucky softly – needing him to help guide you through this.
His metal hand rubbed your back. “I can’t tell you,” he answered with a trace of regret in his voice. “As much as I want to be with you and help you raise this little one…I can’t tell you what to do…I can only support your decisions.”
You looked to him with tear-filled eyes. “Would you?”
“Would I what?”
“Support my decisions?” you clarified. “No matter what?”
He nodded and rubbed your cheek with his thumb. “No matter what.”
You looked down and felt yourself forget how to speak. “W-Wou-Would you think I’m like…crazy or something if-if I felt that Steve and I needed a like…if we needed like one more time together?”
“As in…break-up sex?” You silently nodded – instantly feeling ashamed of yourself. “Is…that something you want?”
“I want you, Buck,” you sniffled.
The super soldier gently held your face in his hands. “Then you listen to me, babydoll,” he spoke softly – getting your eyes to look up at his. “You do what you need to so that you and I can move on with our life together, okay?”
“Even if that means Steve and I need to—”
“Yes,” he interrupted. “Even if that means you need one more time with him…do what you need to do, baby…I’m not going anywhere.”
Without saying anything, you pulled him to your lips and kissed him deeply. His hands held your hips, and the two of you swallowed each other’s moans – the feeling of your tongues inside each other’s mouths was a feeling neither of you wanted to ever let go of. Finally, though, you pulled away from him and nodded – your forehead against his. “I’ll do what I have to do.”
“I’ll see the two of you tomorrow,” Bucky smiled softly – planting a kiss on your belly.
You smiled and blushed hard. “Yes you will.”
You stood outside Steve’s room, too nervous to bring yourself to knock on the door. It was now or never though. You knew you needed to get this over with. You and Steve needed to come to an understanding and agree on the situation with the baby. Knowing that Bucky was supporting your decisions before you even made them gave you a burst of strength, and you knocked on the door gently. Steve must’ve been waiting because it took him mere seconds to open the door.
“Hey beautiful,” he greeted you with a soft smile and stood to the side. “Come in.”
You didn’t respond, instead, you just nodded and walked into his room.
“Steve,” you began – your hands picking at each other from nervousness. “We need to...figure this out.”
“I agree,” he sighed – leading you over to sit on his bed with him. It was quiet for a few moments while the two of you thought about what to say and where to start. “So…Bucky?”
You blushed and looked down. “Uh…yeah…Didn’t mean for you to hear.”
“It was hard not to,” he chuckled. “Seemed like you were enjoying yourself.”
“Steve,” you snapped – looking up at him. “Please don’t.”
“Don’t what?”
“Make this about Bucky,” you answered. “Steve…what is it going to take for us to move on from each other?”
He chuckled incredulously. “Well, you’re carrying our baby,” he reminded you. “Do we really need to move on from each other?”
“You said it yourself,” you reminded him. “We’re bad together.”
“It’s not just about us anymore,” he insisted. “There’s a baby involved…and I’ll be damned if I’m not gonna be there.”
“You can be there,” you told him. “I’m not saying you can’t.”
“But I’m supposed to be okay with you being with Bucky?” he scoffed. “So, what? Bucky’s gonna be our baby’s stepdad?”
“No one said that,” you argued back. “But I’m with him, and he’s with me.”
Steve chuckled. “So, now you’re a couple? Wow, you moved on quick.”
“You moved on before we even broke up.”
“And I ended that relationship,” he reminded you. “For you…for us.”
You tearfully looked into his blue eyes. “Bucky told me to do whatever I had to so we could move on,” you told him. “So, what is it gonna take for us to move on?”
Without a word, Steve pulled you to him and planted his lips to yours.

My little love
Happy Birthday Bucky!
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Word Count: 1.7k
Warnings: fluff, HENRY BARNES!!!! he's the sweetest, Lottie being Lottie, a fake out, implied smut at the end
A/N: Alright here is another birthday for Bucky. Number 1 dad deserves all of the celebration!!!
For the first time since being freed from hydra’s hold, Bucky was looking forward to celebrating his birthday. He had a reason, well three to be exact, to want to celebrate. Bucky was truly happy for the first time in a long time. He had his dream girl and two of the sweetest kids anyone could have ever hoped for.
On his birthday, Bucky woke up a bit later than usual. It didn’t matter because at least he would have a few minutes to cuddle with you but when he turned in bed you weren’t there. Still Bucky smiled as he thought that maybe Lottie and Henry would run in and spend some time hanging out with him but no. He sighs and gets up to get ready for the day. Out in the living room Bucky is met with you and Lottie but no Henry. Lottie hopped up and ran to her father and wished him a good morning.
“Morning, Baby.” You look up at him from the book you were reading.
“Morning, Sugar.” He leans down and gives you a quick kiss.
“Do you have any plans today?”
Bucky gave you a bit of a confused look but then shook his head. “Not really, only going to the gym for my normal workout and finishing some mission reports.”
“Oh cool. I was thinking maybe we could go out to dinner with the kids.”
“Yeah that sounds nice. Where’s Henry?”
“He’s hanging out with Wanda. She was going to show him how to make some Sokovian dish.”
“Oh, ok.” Bucky says and looks around, slightly disappointed. Still he smiles and heads out the door to the gym.
Down at the gym Bucky is sparring with Sam since Steve is nowhere to be found. He was starting to feel a bit down since he was looking forward to celebrating. Part of him thought it would be weird if he mentioned the fact that it was his birthday considering that you knew and always went out of your way to do something special for him. Bucky pushed those thoughts out of his mind and focused on getting some work done. He couldn’t exactly be upset because he always said he didn’t like celebrating his birthday and maybe now everyone was finally doing as he asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Bucky finally dragged himself back to the apartment he was surprised to see you all dressed up. You smiled up at him as you were entering the living room.
“Hey babe, I laid out some clothes for you.” You say before giving Bucky a quick kiss.
“Thanks, where are the kids?”
“Well Henry is still with Wanda and Lottie insisted on having a ‘moobie night’ with Steve. I thought we could have a date night. What do you say?”
Bucky was feeling more dejected as the day went on and not having his kids on his birthday was just the last straw. But he also didn’t want to force them to be with him if they didn’t want to.
“I was kind of looking forward to spending time with all four of us.” He says quietly.
“Oh babe, I know but come on it’ll be fun.”
He looks at your pout and big doe eyes and he smiles. “Ok, I’ll go get ready.”
~~~~~~~~~
In the car Bucky was a bit distant. He had gone from being excited about his birthday to wishing the day would end already. You turned your head and smiled at him. To Bucky you seemed oblivious to his foul mood and somehow that hurt him more than you not even wishing him a happy birthday.
When you finally got to what ended up being a diner Bucky was ready to just turn the car around and go home. You got out of the car and waited for him so reluctantly Bucky got out and took your hand. He was confused when you walked up to the diner and it was completely empty.
“Is this the diner we brought the kids to?” He asks as he looks at the empty diner through the windows.
“Yeah, their first ever diner experience.” You smile.
“I think it’s closed. There’s no one here.”
“Well let’s just check, if it is we can go somewhere else.”
You walk in and sure enough the only people there are the cooks and a few servers milling about. Bucky walks in right after you. He throws a suspicious glance around the place before he hears the door lock. He turns around but doesn’t see anyone by the door. When Bucky turns around the room is filled with the team and your family.
“Surprise!” Everyone yells and Bucky is standing in stunned silence.
“Happy biwthday dada.” Lottie runs up to him with her arms stretched out. She latches on to one of his legs.
“Happy birthday daddy.” Henry says as he hugs Bucky around his midsection.
Bucky was completely shocked and confused but he hugged his kids anyway. When you walked up to him he could see the guilt on your face.
“I’m so sorry. The kids wanted to surprise you and swore me to secrecy.”
Bucky couldn’t help but laugh, the disappointment he was feeling slid off him like water off a duck’s back. He pulled you in by your waist and you leaned up to kiss him.
“Happy birthday baby.” You said against his lips before kissing him again.
“Get a room.”
“Eewwww.”
“Gross.”
The team teased the two of you before they all started to wish him a happy birthday. Your family was also there to congratulate him before everyone settled down at the long table the diner staff had rearranged. The servers begin to take down everyone’s orders and the group is left to talk amongst themselves.
“How long have you been planning this?” Bucky turned to look at you. You had your arm draped across the back of his chair and the other tucked under your chin while it rested against his shoulder.
“The party I wanted to plan? About three weeks. Then two weeks ago the kids came to me while you were on a mission and told me their plan. They were so cute, they even drew what they wanted the decorations to look like. I saved the drawing for you to keep.”
Bucky smiled, he really did have the best kids ever.
“The whole not acknowledging your birthday was Henry’s idea. He thought you’d be even more surprised if you thought we all forgot.”
“Oh so he’s who I have to put in timeout.”
“What?” Henry’s head whipped around so fast. His eyebrows shot up in surprise but he wanted to giggle.
“No gibe bubba timeout dada. Is not nice.”
“You can glare at me all you want but I’ll put you in time out too, little lady.” Bucky quipped and Lottie grinned before she giggled.
“Dada no gibe you timeout bubba.” She announced as if the matter had been decided.
“I’m just kidding bubs. You did something really nice for me and it means so much, so thank you, both of you.”
The outing went on as planned. The group ate and talked and laughed. A jukebox in the corner played some of Bucky’s favorites.
When it came time for dessert Steve helped Henry bring in the cake from the kitchen. Everyone stood around the smaller table with Bucky at the center. The cake was large and it was obviously homemade. It had a few layers to it so it was tall. The buttercream frosting was a deep blue. The other decorations on it were gold, including the Happy Birthday in a childlike scribble at the top of the cake. There was even a small goat figurine perched at the top.
While Bucky held Lottie, Henry pulled up a chair and stood on it so that he could see everyone better.
“Um before we sing happy birthday, I’d like to say something.” Henry speaks up. When everyone’s attention is on him, he clears his throat. “Well um, thank you everybody that could come and celebrate daddy’s birthday.” Henry says and turns to look at Bucky. “You are the best daddy in the world.”
“The bestest one.” Lottie adds.
There’s a few chuckles from the group.
“You are always nice and read us bedtime stories.”
“Gibe kisses when I habe an owie.”
Bucky, although he tried his hardest, let a few tears slip.
“You love us, and we love you.” Henry smiles at his father. Bucky hugs him with one arm while he keeps Lottie in his other arm.
“Thank you, I love both of you so much.”
Once he pulls back everyone begins to sing happy birthday. Bucky blushes a bit at the attention but can’t help but beam while he holds his kids and feels your hand on his back. When he turns his head to look at you he finds that your eyes are already on him. Pure love, admiration and happiness shine in them. When the singing was done and everyone wished him a happy birthday the cake was cut.
“This is really good.” Bucky says around a fork full of cake and the fresh fruit filling. “Where did you get this?” He asks you.
“Oh I didn’t buy it.”
“No?”
“Nope. Henry made it with Wanda’s help.”
“I only really helped with the prep work and the oven. He even made the frosting.” Wanda adds. “Henry’s a natural in the kitchen.”
“Baby added the goat though.”
“Yeah, goat is so cute.”
“What I don’t understand is Steve being completely absent all day.”
You look at bucky and giggle. “Charlotte saw him telling you about the party so she took it into her own hands to keep him occupied until it was time to leave for the diner.”
“He was always the worst at lying.”
You all share a laugh as you continue to enjoy the dessert made by Henry. A few presents are opened before everyone calls it a night.
~~~~~~~~~
When you finally make it back to the tower, the kids beg Bucky to read them a bedtime story which he does happily. While he does that you get ready for bed. When Bucky walks into your shared room he stops in his tracks.
“Happy birthday Bucky.” You smile as Bucky’s eyes rake over your lingerie clad body.
“You have one more present to unwrap.”
Bucky licks his lips before moving towards you. He hovers over you and you can’t help but laugh at how giddy he looked. You love seeing him happy.
“Best birthday ever.” He murmurs before he connects his lips with yours.
Question about My Eyes, about Frankie?
I was just curious you get to see Jimmy's girlfriend Sam and a bit about them and how they met, but we never really git to see that from Frankie.
I was just wondering how she would have met her future boyfriend and how you would imagine him being as a person, physically, aesthetically and how she had met him and started falling for him?
You mentioned in yoy extra chapter All grown up when Bucky and Y/N was doing the devil's tango 👀... that Frankie like older men just like her mother, which I can totally see.
My Eyes - Masterlist
To be completely honest, I always wrote Frankie Barnes as a woman who is confidently – but perpetually – single. Not necessarily as someone who was desperate to get a boyfriend, and couldn't. But as a woman who never really prioritized dating or romantic relationships. She doesn't have a boyfriend as a teenager, doesn't have a boyfriend in college, and then lives through her 20s going on first dates here and there... but never finds someone even worth going on a second date with.
I always wrote her as an introvert and a bit of a loner. She has her friends, and she values them immensely. But she also likes her alone time. When she's done with college and starts going on covert missions, she doesn't even have time to date. Not that she really cares. And she doesn't really think it's fair to do her line of work and leave someone at home waiting, hoping she doesn't die.
I imagined that she wouldn't have a serious relationship until her mid-30s. And it would be with a man a bit older than her. (Like early 40s.) Probably a man who works in a similar line of work and isn't scared of her independence or confidence. He recognizes that she's always worried about everyone else – her friends and family. But there's no one person who prioritizes Frankie and makes sure she's ok. So he fights her tooth and nail to be that person for her.
It's 100% "But who's taking care of her?" trope.
