It's interesting that despite hating his quirk, Kirishima did a deep dive into the history of heroes to find someone with a quirk like his to have as a role model. Generally, most of the characters in BNHA didn't choose their childhood heroes based on quirk similarity. Bakugou chose All Might because he always wins. Izuku chose All Might because he always saves people with a smile. Shouto chose All Might because he made people feel secure and his interview where he downplayed the role of inheritance with quirks.

Hawks chose Endeavor because he arrested his abusive father. Even for young Touya, he didn't admire Endeavor because they had similar quirks. Endeavor was his hero because early on Endeavor had believed in Touya and because of his determination. It's odd that the one prominent character who chose his childhood hero based on quirk similarity was the guy who hates his quirk.

by no means am I a my chem expert, I am just a casual enjoyer who couldnt help but think of dabihawks. This is my interpretation in a dabihawks way. thank you and pls dont hurt me

The song is about two lovers, one of them pursuing a suicide mission, and the other thinking that they would gladly take that burden from them any day.

Most of the song is from Hawks's perspective. He's watching Touya slowly kill himself in pursuit of revenge. revenge for the beginning of his own destruction. But even with everything, even with every single stray bullet or misplaced burn, he'll still be wanting Touya to be happy. the only way for Touya to feel fulfilled in the black hole he lives in, if for him to finally be able to kill his father. ergo, keigo watches as his lover dies but can't, in good faith, stop him from fulfilling his dreams.

Keigo so fucking desperately wants to be able to save Touya from himself and his past. He wants all the poison, the bad experiences, the trauma, the pills, the hopeless hearts. he would be as ill as Touya if it meant that his boyfriend wouldn't have to deal with the trauma and lasting effects of everything he's gone through (the illness)

this HAS to be Keigo desperately begging for another way out, or at least to understand his bf. desperately, he wants to understand the reasoning for self destructing and whats seems like giving up.

This, in my book, is obviously about killing Endeavor. Touya is endlessly persisting killing his father (fair tbh) but there doubt in the storyteller aka Keigo. He knows as well as Touya, no matter how little they talk about it, that this is a suicide mission. Endeavor or Touya (or neither) is coming out alive in the end. Its a lose-lose. But as much as keigo knows this, he also has an irrefutable amount of faith in Touya. This may be a suicide mission, but it's his suicide mission. This is what he's worked his whole life for and theres no stopping him so: fire at will. go ahead, go kill your abusive dad, do your silly dance, be a dramatic little bitch. but youre keigos dramatic little bitch. he very well may not make it through, but this is what he wants.

"I'm just the way that the doctor made me,"

Ok, now you would think dabi here, but (maybe) WRONG! Hawks here has undergone everything in the book to make his quirk better and more appealing to the public. He's essentially a statue, likeness carved in the image of perfection. Theres insecurity, like, 'nah bro you dont want this im genetically modified' but this is keigo being the storyteller, and he doesn't realize the way that Touya feels the same way. the insecurity is in both of them, but in a way it makes both of them feel a tiny bit more seen. "Black is the kiss, the touch of the serpent sun It ain't the mark or the scar that makes you one,"

this is basically keigo's response to Touyas insecurity. its saying, 'youre not who you are just because of your scars, you arent who you are because of your appearance or affiliations or high rank of danger shit, you are more' than the fucked up outside (or inside), you are who you are because of your ambition, love, and dedication. You are my love' and then they kiss

the last "fire at will" in the song just feels so painful and desperate. like a final cry for help or goodbye.

So the obvious pro versus villain tickle fight I think we should start with: Dabi vs Hawks. Who would win?

Amazing first start, but! It doesn't have to be villain vs hero. You can submit villain vs villain or hero vs hero, as well! With that said, onto the tickle fight~

Dabi vs Hawks

Both Dabi and Hawks are insanely ticklish. It kinda depends on who grabs onto the other's weak spot first. All Dabi would need to do is sit on Hawks and focus on his back or his wings. And all Hawks would need to do is open Dabi up enough to get to his belly button.

Dabi doesn't only have one weak spot, but he has very few because of how scarred his skin is. Hawks has windows of opportunity, but he needs to be able to get to them while avoiding the giant target on his back.

Dabi is a merciless ler, and playing fair isn't exactly his strong point. Once he gets his hands on Hawks' wings, there is no hope for the pro hero, especially if he's pinned down.

Hawks is more of a playful ler, only being "merciless" because he likes to focus on the lee's bad spots due to their adorable laughter.

Dabi gets a rush of power from being a ler, and Hawks just finds it fun.

So a question to ask is, does Dabi's desire for power outweigh Hawks' desire to have fun?

Dabi doesn't really mind being a lee, but he prefers being a ler because of the aforementioned power dynamic. Hawks, on the other hand, loves being in either position. If he ends up tickling Dabi into submission, then that would be awesome! But if he ends up being tickled into submission, he would love that just the same. It's been established that Hawks is in love with being tickle tortured, so he honestly faces a win-win situation.

Both of them are skilled in combat, and both of them are very intelligent. I have no doubt they would practically predict each other's movements, and they'd probably make a full-on battle out of a tickle fight like the dorks they are.

That being said, Hawks is not the number two hero without reason. I believe he would win their tickle fight despite having few windows of opportunity. He would try giving Dabi a fighting chance at first, but as things get more intense, he would eventually go in for the kill.

He would want to send his feathers out, but they had established at the beginning that quirks wouldn't be fair in a tickle fight if only one of them could use them. So, he would instead squeeze, knead, and grab at any tickle spot that exposed itself. Dabi may not have many death spots, but his healthy skin is extremely ticklish. While Hawks widdled Dabi down, he would try to think of a way to completely incapacitate him. When he settles on a plan, he'd set it into motion.

He would try putting as "little effort" as possible into his tickle attacks to throw Dabi off. Dabi isn't stupid. He would expect some kind of mind games from the pro hero, but with how ticklish he is, his mind would be a bit clouded with anticipation.

When Dabi would eventually lunge at him, Hawks would pull out the pro moves and completely render Dabi immobile. He would hook his legs over the villain's thighs, and his arms over the villain's biceps, with Dabi hugged tight against his chest and his tummy fully exposed and helpless, and even stretched out a bit thanks to the angle from the hold Hawks had on him.

From there, Dabi would struggle like a madman, so Hawks would be forced to pull out the big guns. He would use his wings to attack Dabi's poor, defenseless tummy, especially his belly button. With the awkward angle, Dabi would have no way to fight back, and the hold Hawks has on him would be tight. The only way to get out of it would be to tap out.

Winner: Hawks!

Now that the main lov villains have been emotionally saved & dealt with, I have been re-reading some parts & am considering a glaring fact that shows the only reason Hawks failed to save Twice this way was because he was unsupported AND intervened with 😔

So many heroes made sure no other villain got in the way of Deku vs Shigaraki, PLUS Deku had the support of all previous OFA users backing his every decision. Together they saved Shigaraki.

Toga too, had no help from other villains outside of being teleported to her destination of choice. It was only she & her destructive power against Ochako AND Froppy who played a part to ensure Ochako could reach her.

Then there’s of course Dabi who alone faced Endeavor, Rei & all his siblings PLUS iida who helped Shoto get there on time.

All of these fights had the support of fellow heroes, but when Hawks tried to lend a hand to Twice, he was completely alone. Then Dabi shows up, escalating the situation by aiding Twice’s escape & encouraging him to go on a rampage.

Maybe the situation would have had played differently if instead Hawks had enlisted the help of other heroes who agreed with his decision to try to talk Twice down. But… he’s not one of UA’s students who have each other or, most probably, it was just too early in the series for that kinda action 🤷
