Been sitting on an idea for a while.

Wifey likes to save everything. I mean everything. Five years ago we moved from a 4,200 sq ft house to a 3,100 sq ft house. And ever since we got here I have been saying,”We have too much shit. We need to declutter.” Wifey just nods. But we never do it. In the basement I have totes with stuff from 3 houses ago. Never touch the totes. We just schlep them along in our life.

I’m thinking, Fuck It, I can just start throwing shit away and she won’t even know. I can fill 3-5 trash bags a week and stuff the garbage can without her even noticing. My original thought was a haul off dumpster in the front yard, but I think she will notice that. If I pitch it silently she will never catch on to me.

I’m the only one who really goes in the basement. My plan is all summer to hit every closet and room. If we don’t need it, chuck it. And gut the basement. Anything down there has been here since we moved. If we haven’t needed it, we have no use for it.

I can make one area a waiting station and just fill it with trash bags and boxes of junk. Fuck a garage sale. Donate some decent shit, purge everything else. And from the pile of junk I will just overload my garbage cans each week. By Labor Day it will be all gone. Then I can plan on remodeling a few rooms and closets. We just have so much stuff and I am tired of seeing it.

I swear I think we have 2 ceiling fans never installed still in boxes, 4 DVDplayers, outside speakers, 3 old gaming consoles with games, 10 gifts from wedding still unopened, 4 boxes of shoes that don’t fit in closets, 5 lamps from previous houses decor. Shit like that. I could probably junk 3 tons of stuff.

Just give the house a massive enema and come up with new ideas how to maximize living here.

And if she ever asks about something I can just scratch my head and wonder.

sure, heres some crazy things that have actually happened in my life that should convince me ghosts are real but still somehow hasnt:

silverware shakily levitating off the dinner table before shooting to the floor, while im sitting at said table

the tv in my room turning itself on and putting on random movies in the middle of the night (which i got in trouble for bc my parents thought i was Defying Bedtime) (i was young and it was a barbie tv+dvdplayer combo so it only played barbie movies)

my electronic toys (furbies, plastic babies etc, the ones that talk) would activate at random times with zero human input. one of these included a crawling baby toy that you had to physically wind

the old washing machine rocking violently despite not being plugged in

my own bed rocking violently for like 30 solid seconds like something was trying to shake me off of it

my sister being told by some random lady on the street that she could "see the spirits attached to her"

my sister then sitting down to use a ouija board only to have it continuously spell out her name and nothing else no matter what we asked. she then could not get rid of the board no matter how hard she tried, it kept finding its way back to her in different ways, even after throwing it out. im pretty sure its still in the garage.

me and multiple family members have felt an invisible force sit on the end of our beds and felt it actually sink in. as well as footsteps when no one is home

one time at my sisters place when i was spending the night we were watching a movie when we heard a loud crash/glass shattering sound. the glass of milk i had just poured myself and took 1 sip from was not on the table anymore- it was somehow behind the couch in the center, perfectly upright and intact, but zero milk in the glass and none of it spilled anywhere. i didnt sleep at all that night, i read archie comics until 6am and called my mom to pick me up

and i know theres probably wayyy more im not thinking of but my brain has that issue where i cant think of things when im put on the spot to remember them 😭

i think one of the funniest things abt me is that im still a paranormal skeptic despite having experienced actual irrefutable scary as fuck paranormal situations. like i went from "I'll believe it when I see it." to "yeah nothing from this world could explain what just happened that me and others saw with our own two eyes. but also theres no way that happened maybe that wasnt real" despite there being physical evidence it happened and eye witnesses to confirm 😭
