3, 5, 8, 10, 14 :) have a good day/night/ whenever this reaches you :)
3. I made this an option because I thought there might be some appeal to just being generally evil fictionally but then I remembered the culty aspect of Mevolent's side and the religious elements and yeah nah. I'm an atheist, I couldn't manage that, so I suppose I'll go with the moral side of this fight.
5. This one's a long question so I'll include it before I answer - "Was Ravel mad with power or did he have sincere political beliefs? Would he have actually given himself up to the authorities like he claimed in lsodm/dotl (I can't remember off the top of my head, but it has to be one of those books)?"
I genuinely read it as Ravel believing in his cause. I doubt he would have ended giving himself up at the end, after he'd achieved everything he wanted - but I think when he said that he did believe what he was saying. His motivations are fascinating and bizarre. I think he was so obsessed with the rightness of his ideology that everything else came second - the whole idea of "the greater good". So yeah, I took it pretty much at face value, but even that is such an interesting concept imo.
8. I've answered this several times on earlier asks! :)
10. Okay okay so, looking back at Scapegrace's arc - I have to say I quite liked it. And looking back through a queer lens, I'm very spun out by the idea that he was basically a reverse trans man? Kind of? I have a lot of sympathy for him trying to work out how stuff like periods work, since he hasn't got anyone to help with that. And ik his arc is mostly played for laughs but I feel quite sorry for him, he's so pathetic just generally. I do feel quite sorry for Thrasher, but I suppose the two of them are getting something from their warped relationship? Hopefully? Idk dude, there's a lot going on there.
14. Never my Beloved. I have to say I really liked him, he was maybe the first gender fluid person I read in fiction and I like how she hates Val and I like how they're seriously competent at a lot of things and I like his general self-confidence. Absolute legend, rude king. (I haven't read most recent books so if this changes pls leave me in blissful ignorance).
Thanks for the ask! I'm having a lovely day as of writing this, and I hope you are too! Do you have any questions you have strong answers for from the list?
