Dilemma on WHB Belphegor's possible designs/appearance

On one hand there's what I call [version A]

I'd love for him to look all sleek and put together. He's a King! He's also militaristic and that involves a lot of discipline not just in his actions but also in his appearance. Clothes perfectly ironed, posture straight, and not a single thing crooked or out of place. Order and uniformity that is reflected in his domain and its citizens.

A design that makes you go "which part of this man is about being the King of Sloth???"

Make it ironic. Man's supposed to be lazy af why is he so put together???

BUT!!! there's also [version B]

Scruffy and rugged. Slouchy and lax. The embodiment of Sloth. The only reason his clothes look halfway decent is because Gusion would not let him out the door otherwise. Everyone thinks that, with how he runs his kingdom, he's just as much of a hardass. Actually he's not. He just established the rules and stuck with it for a while til it became the norm and he stood back and let the country run itself. He made his country self-sufficient enough that he only needs to step in when necessary. His subjects also greatly admire and respect him that they can't bear to think of disobeying.

In both cases, I WANT HIM TO HAVE FACIAL AND BODY HAIR aaaaaaaaaaaaa

It would do wonders for his design and can tell you a lot about his character!!! For version A, he has one more thing to maintain and care for. The facial hair especially. Extra time and steps to make sure it looks tidy.

For version B, it's like "sir do u even know what a razor is???" You look at the nobles and ask them if they've tried to at least convince him to trim a little bit. They just shrug and you facepalm.

Either way, I'll have to see what PB cooked up for him but oh! OH!!! A shrimp can dream 😭😭😭

Ikemen Vampires

Finally. No, not like that. FINALLY!!!! This is my last post about Vampires. But before I'll start, I wanna show you how my dollhouse look like, for the history sake.

Quite messy. A lot of Johann. At first I collected all dolls, but there are too many of them, so at some point I just stopped on Johann (Faust) and Shuji (Dazai).

I spent on that game almost two years.

I really can't believe it…

Last month, I haven't turned on the game to get a message from Johann. But this bastard doesn't want to call me out at all. I don't love you anymore, mister!

I've only received messages from Napoleon, William and Sebastian.

If you don't play the game, the messages come about twice a week.

I don't really like this game, and I'll explain why below. For those of you who don't want or aren't ready to see it, I'll add it under a spoiler. But I try not to focus only on the bad, so I'll start with the positive.

The positive aspects of the game

As you can see in the picture above, the devs provide a lot of stuff for the dollhouse. At each event, you get mini-characters, clothes and other things… And these events happens quite often. Actually if you participate in every event, you will not lack for anything. Except for a space in the luggage. Cleaning once or even twice a month has become a necessary habit.

Game didn't give many crystals for completing the story events (sorry, I'm too lazy to remember what the ingame currency is called, the meaning is the same), but they fell in small portions here and there. So the crystals is slowly but surely accumulating. I bought three birthday stories (at the middle price) without spending any real money, only on crystal from the game. And a few epilogues. And some of them cost 500 or even more…

The cards are pretty easy to get. Every 10 draws are almost guaranteed to give you at least 1 of 5⭐ card. Not every time, but very often. Sometimes you can get 4⭐ or even 5⭐ cards from an event. And on every 4 or 5⭐ card are having voiced lines. Some 5⭐ cards have animation.

If you are interested in steamy stories, you will find plenty of them here. Side stories exist solely for this purpose. Yes, there are stories, but this is only a small part. Some story events contain polyamorous relationships.

But before I talk about the reasons why I don't like this game, for those of you who don't wanna read any the rest, I'll say that the game isn't bad. We're just incompatible. And despite the fact that I don't like so much about this game, it has greatly influenced me. I started writing fanfiction because I didn't like something so much that I wanted to at least try to do differently. Not better, just different. And that's huge. So… even negative emotions can and actually do help us.

I really like stories that have a time swist. I like the concept of fate, and I'm always, even more, ALWAYS happy to find another story on this topic. And I really like the historical figures that were used in this project. And for now… It looks like I should love this game. It was probably meant for me...

But...

I don't like vampires. First of all, the very idea of their existence is highly questionable. Real vampires in the animal world need to drink a lot of blood, much more than they weigh. Can you imagine a man who drinks so much? Let's do the math. A man who weighs about 80 kg (I just like that number, that's all). If he needs to drink at least as much liquid as their weight per day, this will be more than 3 liters per hour (without a break for sleep). But if you drink that much liquid, you'll just throw up. This is the body's defense mechanism. So… It's literally impossible to drink that much. And real vampires can't survive without it. Secondly, a face covered in blood evokes completely different associations in me, and I find this… unpleasant. I don't want to elaborate. Let's just say it's not my thing at all. So… The vampires completely ruined this game for me. I knew about it in advance, but decided to try anyway and was stuck for almost 2 years. I know what you're thinking. I'm not lying. I'm just stubborn.

Another thing that became a huge disappointment for me was that the developers didn't really use much historical figures. They did not use real people and did not invent stories from their past, they did not expand their interaction with other people… The developers have found real or imaginary rivals for all the boys, and that's it. Nothing else. But this was real people. They had family, friends, and many acquaintances. The same can be said about their new life in Paris. They must have some acquaintances. They must interact… somehow. Well… I understand that some of them don't like people (that's understandable), some don't have time due of the workload (Sebastian must be a magical creature), but the rest must have acquaintances… It seems that only Leonardo and Abel have them… The fact that they are pure-blooded does not make them special! (rumbling)

Stories and character development are not the strongest side of this game. Don't get me wrong… all the stories have drama and some kind of trauma (after all, this is Cybird), but in my opinion, there wasn't much explanation and disclosure in it… And I feel very sorry for the boys. They have such great potential. I just think that side story should tell more about the guys we like… about their past, their thoughts, their fears… and not just jump to another time or place with the same story over and over again (repeat of main route). Or the plot "she took him off the street, they live together since then and hid their love for each other until one of them decided to leave… and there should be a hot scene, but it's under a black screen" is repeated quite often. 🤦 It's not that bad. Some of the events were quite interesting. But that was the exception rather than the rule. Though… this is just my personal opinion, and most likely many will disagree with me.

Another thing that really upset me is that the narrative in this game is too primitive. I'm not a native speaker, so I have no right to judge. Maybe it's just my impression… But reading most of the stories was extremely boring. Not all. Shuji's route (Dazai) is written very beautifully, even poetically. William (Shakespeare), with his Old English, was a huge challenge for me, but despite that… it was interesting precisely because it was written more difficult than the others. Again, this is just my personal opinion. Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't like it…

And the biggest problem is MC. (deep exhale) I'm not Japanese, I'm from a completely different country. We literally have nothing in common, neither in culture nor in traditions. So it is extremely difficult for me to imagine myself in her place. I don't have such a problem with Mai from Sengoku or MC from Genjiden (sorry, I still don't remember her name). They are both Japanese too, but I see the logic in their actions, their characters are written so well that you have no choice but to sympathize with them. Here… Nothing like that. I have already written about it several times (she doesn't deserve him, 25ch). But maybe I'm just being too harsh on her. I look at her in terms of my age and experience, my personality type… We're just different, so of course I don't like or disagree with her (almost all) decisions. But to be totally fair… at her age, I was probably even worse. I was afraid of men for a very long time, until I started working with them. Now I constantly feel like I'm surrounded by children. Well, at least they don't let me get bored.

And I almost forgot… There is one more thing that has always surprised me (not in a good way): the updates are very large (about 1 GB) and they come out quite often. No other Cybird game has such big updates. None of them! What the hell am I downloading to my phone???

Based on all my harsh judgments, I'm really surprised that I lasted so long. But…If I had deleted the game right away, I wouldn't have found many wonderful pictures and extremely poetic stories, and I won't experience a bittersweet sense of disappointment that my expectations have been shattered. Well, I could easily skip the last one, but the rest… It was worth it.

Actually in preparation for this post, I read everything I wrote about vampires. At first, I really tried to come up with something interesting. Made jokes, some comparisons, but in the end… only negative thoughts remained. I probably should have deleted it much earlier…
