Since EXO-L Japan has said that Kyungsoo’s contract with SM has ended but he will continue to participate with EXO, wouldn’t that mean his participation with EXO is by “honor code” or more like SNSD’s situation and not an actual “group contract” situation like SuJu? 🤔

Before it was told by SM that he will be doing Group projects under SM with the members tied by group contract as he himself confirmed he will be still active as an Exo member. This is usually what SM does with their artists who want to leave but still want to remain active in their band. Because you CAN'T still work in a company you resigned from with no legal contract to protect you and for you to get your profits. But apparently they've done an exception with ksoo , it's not the case with other SM artists who left and still promoting in their band. I'm reading now Koreans are saying Ksoo didn't sign a group contract like the one the members signed, but he may have signed an exclusive Group Contract to promote with Exo in Exo group activities but SM won't be controlling him, he's not obliged like the other members!! Because entering a company let alone working in it in massive group projects, is not possible unless you have a certain type of Contract tied up with them, just like how idols from different companies collaborate and work together, they sign special contracts , so there must be some special exclusive contract SM needs to sign with His company SOOSOO for him to still take part in Exo's schedules and comebacks, but what's the status and title and conditions of this contract? still yet to be confirmed.

There are many people blabbering left and right now, I don't wanna spread baseless rumors I will share with you the exact details about his situation when I get the correct Legitimate info.

So just like I said before, don't expect him to be in EVERY schedule of Exo, it would be optional for him.

I think Baekhyun unfortunately bit more than he could chew and over estimated the blind support from fans when it comes to breaking contracts with sm.

People on korean forums were actually on his side initially before sm revealed mc mong's involvement and it got worse bcs cbx denied MC mong's involvement only to get under his main company this year, proving the point that cbx lied last year 😭 Baekhyun was the most successful soloist of sm so I'm still very confused why he didn't negotiate with SM better like I'm sure SM also wasn't delighted knowing they are losing the company's biggest soloist. The only conclusion I can think of is that he wanted to jump the sinking ship before Hybe's takeover of SM bcs hybe was really close to acquiring it.

no literally LITERALLYYYYYY like it's all so fascinating to me when you think about the timeline of things: baekhyun and cx only put forward the initial lawsuit once they had confirmation that lee sooman was leaving SM. and it was all a mess re: hybe and kakao trying to take over the majority stockholders but like. i can easily picture baekhyun saying "the big boss has left. there's blood in the water if there was ever a time to strike it's NOW!!!" when suho was like hey um. what the fuck man when they first got wind of the contract dispute. this was in february of 2023.

fast forward to april and like. exo had a group gig they were contractually obligated to meet which was the fanmeeting (first activity with all members in 5 years) and then recording for their album. and baekhyun was probably like lol it's fine. they HAVE to meet our demands we are literally about to drop an album - cue the rest of exo sans kyungsoo shooting daggers at him from across the room.

and THEN as we all know now lee sooman left the company and hybe were like literally digging in their claws getting ready for the kill and baekhyun was probably already in contact with mc mong and his family's business contacts which we now have confirmation loaned him close to 4 billion won in order to set up his own company. which i mean i can get it if my own family was like actively pushing me to do this and assure me it's no big deal since i can have pretty good terms on a business loan i'd maybe do it too?

and then it's january 2024 and cbx were RUSHING to get out of that contract like ik they were scrambling to put everything in place and probably didn't even read the fine print 😭 or they simply assumed they could shoulder the debt from breaching their contract - operating under the assumption that either SM would have to pay up their royalties and other exo gigs they had lined up OR being bought into mc mong's company could bring in some liquidity.... and then the first bills came in from SM demanding their contractual fees and interest rates which probably (definitely) ate into baekhyun/cx's margins and they were like oh shit. so they had no choice but to sue SM again to renegotiate the fees they had signed off on (which, as well all are well aware - SM probably asked for the standard 10% originally) and when baekhyun realized he had made a bad business deal with his own company and he had effectively fucked himself and cx over he had to ask for 5% 😭

anyway... this is obviously all not confirmed but I have followed this case closely from the very beginning and it looks like a classic case of eduardo saverin/kendall roy-esque bad business instincts and not being enough of a killer - all because baekhyun assumed SM would crumble without lee sooman and the hybe/kakao acquisitions put the spot on every business deal SM had going on, forcing his hand to go ahead with a bad deal that only got him probably half of what he intended. and now he's dancing in streams for money or whatever

Okay here it goes… I rly need solo stans to shut. the. fuck. up. Like rly I do. As we know, Baek had his concert (which looked fantastic btw! I’m so proud of him!) and ofc, some of members came to show their support (im sure if Sehun and Jongin weren’t enlisted/busy they’d be there. Same goes for Yixing). However some miserable people wanted to use this ammunition or proof (whatever the fuck they want to call it) that the members don’t like each other, completely over analyzing their actions/words. Tbh, it’s mainly Kyungsoo and Baekhyun stans I see this from. Tho some other solo fandoms have been yapping about too. For some reason, they’ve gotten brave since Ksoo and CBX left sm (ofc I’m happy that they’re out of the shithole that’s sm). Like it’s 20-fucking-24! And yall still don’t believe that they like each other yet? Seriously? They’ve been together for nearly 15 years at this point. And they are FUCKING GROWN ASS ADULTS! If they didn’t like each other or want to be around each other, then they wouldn’t interact at all outside of work. Yet, how many times do we hear stories of ppl running into them while they’re on LITERAL “DATES” WITH EACH OTHER. Stop treating them like they’re in high school ffs! Every time any member is asked about exo during solo activities, they always say how they’re lucky to have them and that they’re family/brothers/lifelong friends.

If you don’t like the group or certain members, fine. That’s how you feel. I can’t change that. But you need to shut your damn mouths and show some respect! So there currently Chanyeol, Sehun, Kai, Kyungsoo, Suho and Lay are still contracted with SM. Chen, Baekhyun, and Minseok are still in exo of the moment - they've left the company not the group and so unless there's official word after all the legal stuff that they've left the group - they are still in the group! the contracts will be them individually contracted as SM artists, not as members of EXO so they don't lose that when the contracts gone until SM declare it. Sehun... is unpredicatable so i can't say anything for sure 😭 but he is basically sitting back atm with popcorn watching it go down so i imagine that whatever the outcome he will step up and try something himself hahah the others i truly don't know! Kai fucked off to the military right as the drama's happening so we won't get his news for a while 😭 the contracts are kinda frozen/extended over military enlistment periods i've noticed so he won't be doing anything until it's over. The leaving members are very likely going to go get signed to other labels/ set up their own ! i can imagine they have a plan, and considering they're suing together at once i can imagine they have a plan together! it would be great for us fans to have them sign to the same company but you gotta remember this is their first free decision about their career they've prob ever gotten so they should go with what they want individually and find companies that will suit them and work well with them<3

oki so I think there's a lot that could happen if u compare it to other groups! they could definitely do a got7 where they are in different companies focusing on solo stuff but manage to do a full-member comeback by organising it themselves between all their companies (if only once or twice </3). Or you could look at snsd. snsd came back through SM but 3 (?) of the members aren't under SM anymore - it was just something arranged between all companies involved and i can imagine that the non-SM girls got well compensated 😭 but yeah - something like that could happen if there's some relationship between the members and SM... which doesn't seem particularly likely considering the lawsuits but anyways it's a possibility hahaha!

about other SM groups! it will be affecting poor taeyong trying to promote his solo atm thru all this drama 😭 and as you said about the stock prices - that does inhibit the other groups. However, if they win the lawsuit, one can only hope that would encourage better artist treatment and fairer payout around the whole company!! and if SM don't do it themselves, the other artists would have tonnes of info on how to beat SM in a lawsuit 😭 so we can hope they use it well<3 but yeah - the icky thing about companies is that although they are all artists with similar contracts, the treatment and payout could be extremely different between all the groups :(( and within the same group (read: luhan and tao lol). and good old misogyny when it comes to rv<3 so each SM artist could have a different experience and some could have it much worse than others.

okay so i just read some articles and it's so funny djfgjjdfgj what i'm understanding is.. cbx were like 'yo can u provide us with the info on how we've been paid for 12-13 years' and sm are like 'no. i don't want to.' and sm are CONVINCED that some other evil company leaders have been talking to exo and getting them to sign with them and illegally go against their SM contracts. which very much could be true but it's not illegal to have discussions with other employers jgjdfg and SM are still like 'we have your best interests at heart, not those evil outsiders!'. ... they r so funny fkgkd. also their contracts were literally 12-13 years long... not the usual 7 recommended by the government.... and the contracts they r terminating were written in nov/dec 2022 and were extending them another 5/6 years...and SM's current defence is "no ur lawyer doesn't know the law properly we aren't in the wrong".. so .... unless some miracle is pulled I don't see SM coming out of this well since they're not rly cooperating at all.

but yeah.. i don't see a swarm of artists leaving SM happening, mostly because a lot of them won't have the luxury as EXO have to do that. Please allow me to express my opinion and feelings to you, and forgive me for the next thoughts. So this thing has been on my mind lately… I don’t think idols realise that fans exist outside Asia and the US… and yeah, if I had to be honest, I’d say it kinda saddens me. I’m talking about the idols in general now (don’t get me wrong), and when they say stuff like “I love my fans so much” etc, I feel excluded, because I only see mostly Asian fans getting the chance to go to their concert or a fan meeting, or just simply see them at the airport and giving them presents.

I know that feeling like this is not a behaviour of a true fan, but! aren’t we allowed to feel, let’s say, jealous sometimes? I mean, it passes soon but it can also bring me down and I even feel guilty for not being able to be that fan who supports their idols in that way. Of course, I know how much easier it is to travel to those countries near Korea, but still.. especially, when a group/soloist has been in the industry for a while now, I think they could visit further countries too to give at least a tiny bit of chance to see them live.

i went to the theaters the other day to watch nct's concert, the "nct nation", you know? as i was going back home, i was talking to my sister's friend about the shows we went to, how much fun it was, and how much we wanted to see our favorite groups live (mine being exo, and hers being enhypen).

i told her that i already made my peace with the fact that maybe i'm gonna have to travel to asia to see exo live as a whole group, and that's okay. kpop is gaining more and more attention through the years, and that's amazing of course, i'm happy for that! but still, there are some things that will take more time to change.

i do believe exo cherish every fan and that they wanna go and meet as many of us as they can, but there's almost a gatekeeping with groups in korea, to the extend that some of them (not only exo members but other idols as well) think they're only famous and loved in korea. when nct 127 came to brazil, they were SHOCKED to see that we knew every song, that we screamed for every member and not only for our bias, etc. they did 3 concerts in a row, with very little seats left at the venue. they realized they're big here, you know?

i think exo would be just like that. they already know that places like japan, china, indonesia (and many more) love them, but they didn't have the chance to see that around the world and i partly blame it on sm. but things are changing for them now, baekhyun and kyungsoo have their own companies, so maybe that means we'll have more chances to see them live, who knows? it might take a while (and in exo case i think it will take a while, considering sekai's enlistment, the whole lawsuit that was going on and that definitely left a bitter taste for sm, etc), but eventually the way they see the whole world will change and opportunities will come their way.

so it's okay to feel that way, there is no such thing as "true fan behaviour" in my opinion. just please, know that you are loved and that exo do appreciate you! <3

idk how clear i can be bc my feelings towards exo and their members have changed so much tbh. so i’ve basically been a fan since 2014-2015, and looking back i think their group dynamic was misconstrued. mind you, they were the no. 1 group back then and ouhh, they were hated. being an sm group, along with the exo-m controversies, i think all the shit they had to deal with made them grow closer. they were already friends, but ofc there were certain cliques within the group. but i think they’re much closer now. I think people have this perception of them being co-workers is bc they have other friend groups, can socialize, and are able to produce successful solo work, and kpop fans who love the brotherhood/sisterhood of kpop feel threatened by that. but genuinely i think they all love each other and as much as i am a bitch for saying that exo would be fine if suho and chen left, i feel like they all have a part and fit in the group really well (even tao, lay and luhan). i really love them.

as for the members. let me tell you, i love them now but i hated most of them at one point 😭 i started off as a kai girl and would go to bat for him. most of them would pick on him and say really colourist shit to him, which was sooo shocking to me bc he didn’t look any different from others. baekhyun and chen were no. 1 on my shitlist. i always enjoyed kyungsoo and tao tho. the others, i eventually warmed up to them. suho—i kinda shit on him for not being up to par vocally or dance-wise, but he’s an amazing leader, and really the glue to exo. he was supposed to debut with shinee which is crazy to think. he was meant for exo. xiumin—a king. love him nothing bad to say about him. chen—don’t love him. or his vocals. i try to ignore him lol. i do feel bad for him for getting shitted on for being married and a father tho. baekhyun—best vocalist. kinda arrogant but he’s allowed to be. amazing solo work. it took me awhile to warm up to him but he’s great. his stans are the worst tho. chanyeol—my man!!!!!! love him! he’s super charismatic. can sing, act. i like his raps idc idc. kyungsoo—the best idol turned actor. love him. he minds his business. kai—i can write a whole thinkpiece on kai but truly an it-boy. a real performer. had the best solo debut of exo. a FUNCLE!!!!! sehun—love him too!! really watched him grow up. tho i do think he gets harassed about his sexuality too much. lay—great performer!!! a little arrogant too tho kdkdkfk. tao—i loved him. he was my fave after kai. luhan—i didn’t get to know much about him. terrible solo stuff tho. kris—hope he dies.

Now that Kyungsoo has left SM, do you think SM will exclude him when there’s a group activity or comeback? I feel like they’d be petty enough to do that (it isn’t like it hasn’t happened many times before and that was when he was still contracted to them plus their relationship must be very tenuous at this point anyway).

What is Kyungsoo's Situation and Future with SM?

So I'll explain something to everybody here, since not everyone knows,

So until now all of the members signed "Group activities" Contract and "Exclusive Solo activities" Contract with SM ,

Except Ksoo! Who didn't sign the Exclusive solo activities Contrat because that would be managed by SooSoo Company. So since he said he still can be in Exo's schedules and activities after his official contract ends in November 3rd, means he signed the "Group Activities contract"! Just like Donghae and Eunhyuk and Kyuhyun from Super Junior.

Whereas Tiffany and SNSD members who left they didn't sign the group contracts so they cannot Use "SNSD" Group Name or their stage names because they're all owned by SM. Which is why Tiffany's stage name was changed to "Tiffany Young" she can't use "Tiffany" to introduce herself because that's SM's credit.

Same thing for Lay/Yixing, this is why he can't use "Exo" or "Lay" anymore so he calls himself "Lay Zhang" or "Zhang Yixing " because he officially left SM with no Group contracts so yes he won't be on Any Exo schedules unless Exo want to and they can make him an exclusive contract for that, which I don't think would happen anytime soon.

So we'll wait until after November 3rd, If Ksoo still introduces himself as "Exo's D.O" or "D.O" then we would know he sighed the group contract and only the Exclusive "Solo activities" contract that was not signed, which means he would be in Exo's Comeback schedules IF HIS SOOSOO COMPANY ALLOWS HIM and it Doesn't Overlap with his Solo Company's schedule, which I'm sure he will manage and solve with Nam Kyungsoo since it's his company as well, so I believe he would organize his schedules so that he won't be absent in Exo's Schedules. But of course we would expect him not to show up in every show or every fan event or every variety show with them. He might miss some !! Because now the SooSoo Company will manage BOTH his Music and Acting Careers.

And I don't think Ksoo would give up his stage name "D.O" or "Exo".

- After Jonghyun died, Lily was constantly stopping by his place and making sure he was fed. She would comfort him and make sure she wasn’t alone.

- Taemin has many friends, but he was only ever that vulnerable in front of Lily

- You got a lot closer in SuperM, she made him feel comfortable and his weird feelings of guilt eventually faded

- Taemin is Shinee’s baby so it was kind of weird when he suddenly became the second oldest. But age is just a number and he reassures his place as maknae through her constant doting

- when his members go to the military, Lily invites him to hang out a lot. He usually says no because he’s busy, but appreciates the invitations nonetheless

- Always makes sure you know that you’re doing great, doesn’t let you listen to the outside noise

When she appeared on Kai’s episode of ‘Home Alone’ and his niece and nephew went crazy when she showed up and every time they’d be calling her ‘auntie Somi’ or ‘SoSo unnie’.

2) When EVERYONE in the artists zone bowed at her at the MAMA 2017

That time she just left for the bathroom and when she came back all the artists bowed at her. Poor girl didn’t know how to react a queen indeed.

When Suho recorded her reaction to Kyungsoo kissing scene and it was GOLDEN!

Jaein came up with the name and we just thought it was cool until we realised what it meant in korean. But all the mentors called us the Unholy Trinity when we were together or in the same group.”
