Remembering DJ Clark Kent: A Brooklyn Legend, Hip-Hop Pioneer, and Sneaker Icon

DJ Clark Kent, a Brooklyn legend who introduced the world to Jay-Z and produced timeless classics with The Notorious B.I.G. and other hip-hop giants, has passed away after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He died on October 24, with his family revealing the heartbreaking news the following day on Instagram. Since then, tributes have poured in from around the world.

Clark Kent wasn’t just a DJ; he was the heart and soul of hip-hop. With roots deep in Brooklyn, he was a proud son of the borough who helped shape the sound and culture of an entire generation. As the cousin of Foxy Brown, hip-hop ran through his blood, and he made sure the culture thrived. Reposted from @djclarkkent It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of the beloved Rodolfo A. Franklin, known to the world as DJ Clark Kent. Clark passed away Thursday evening surrounded by his devoted wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah and son Antonio.

Clark quietly and valiantly fought a three year battle with Colon Cancer, while continuing to share his gifts with the world. The family is grateful for everyone’s love, support and prayers during this time and ask for privacy as they process this immense loss.
