Diluc x gn!reader

note: hi everyone! sorry if i died for a while. as an apology, have a little fic about our favorite tsundere <3 hope you like it!!

You always wondered why Diluc ignored you so much. You tried to talk to him many times but he’ll just brush you off and walk away. You sighed, this was your hundredth attempt to talk to the male. “Diluc? Are you busy right now?” you tried to ask him to help you with your algebra homework but you didn’t even have time to ask because in a flash he left you talking to yourself. 

You kicked a rock in frustration “Damn it… he left again!” you whined like a little kid “What are you doing?” you flinched and looked at the person behind you, “Hey Kaeya.. Nothing much, just another episode of Y/N getting ignored by Diluc.” He chuckled seeing the childish pout in your face, “Well, at least he doesn’t call you a nuisance.” He shrugs. Does he call Kaeya that? How mean. You thought to yourself. ''I guess… but do you know how frustrating it is?! Sometimes I just feel like he hates me…” You frown at the thought. 

“Mm…” He pauses, “You know what I think? I think he just needs time to open up. He’s never talked to a girl before… or at least I’ve never seen him.” You look up at him “Maybe…” Kaeya then continued “You should try talking to him every day! That way he is sure to talk to you!” you glared at the blue haired male, “Are you serious? No way! He’ll just hate me even more!” You punch him on the arm lightly. “No, he won’t! I promise!” Raising his arms in surrender.

You personally thought that was a very stupid idea. Surely he would get annoyed but… at the same time, what if it worked? “Fine I’ll try… but! If anything goes wrong please make sure to come to my funeral.. You sniffled jokingly, “Nah, I have plans that day.” He shrugs at the questioning look you gave him, “You don’t even know when-” He interrupts you, “I have plans whenever your funeral is soooo….” You frown, kicking him on the shin, smiling when he yelped. “Oh fuck you!” Giving him a middle finger, “Yeah, yeah.” He rolls his eyes slowly getting up, “Come on, let’s get going. I’ll help you with your homework” Kaeya pats you on the head, “Yeah, thanks.” You mutter softly, he may be a pain in the ass sometimes but he sure does help you a lot.

So, let’s just say you weren’t as successful the first few days of your ‘Talk To Diluc’ mission but you found yourself getting more and more attached to the beautiful man. With every rejection, you felt this rush of anticipation filled with excitement. You would usually feel gloomy in every attempt but at some point, it all became an adventure, the adventures you couldn’t help but await every single day. Every day you would lay in bed, thinking about the one-sided conversation you had with DIluc. The way his eyebrows furrowed every time you directed your voice at him, his face that was always covered by annoyance, the little strand of his hair that you just want to brush back, Diluc himself, was the joy of your whole day. 

You didn’t know it, but you were slowly falling in love.

“Diluc! How are you today?” he turned to you, a small blush in his face, but you wouldn’t know, of course. He looked away, your smile being as bright as ever. And for the first time ever, he… answered, “Good…” Your eyes widened, following him with your gaze as he left you standing there. This may not seem much to anyone else, in fact, some might find it offending but not you. You knew how much he ignored you and you knew this was a small step to something big.

From that day everything started to change, his one-word responses turned into sentences, and those sentences slowly turned into small conversations, and in less than a few months you two were spending time together. Your whole relationship had so much meaning behind it but… something changed… you started feeling the desire for more than just a small friendship, soon you realized you had fallen in love.
