A man lies in a hospital bed under police escort tonight on suspicion of stabbing a woman in her home.

The man was discovered 70 miles from the scene when British Transport Police found him stabbed but still alive at Euston Station in London. He was taken to hospital.

"The Home Office pathologist who performed the autopsy found that she had died from multiple stab wounds, one of which was fatal." Chief Inspector and Investigator Adam Pendlebury, of the East Midlands Specialist Operations Unit Major Crimes Team, said: "It has been a busy few days of policing, with a large number of officers and personnel deployed to collect evidence in Northampton and London Euston. "The suspect is now under police escort in a London hospital and we will arrange for his transfer to police custody in due course. "At this time Northamptonshire Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with this investigation." Diana's neighbors told the Northamptonshire Telegraph of their shock at the alleged murder. One said: "Nobody in this business would have thought this could happen. We can't believe it. It's so sad."
