Not canon but I’m a sucker for those “what if Heart didn’t miss” scenarios so have one for the DCA CCCC AU

Moon aimed his gun, able to tell where Sun was by the sounds of the mechanical arms and the slight ticking noise that seemed to always be around Sun when Eclipse was gone. He knew all he had was one shot, it was all he ever had in these cycles.

“Artemis, you’re being ridiculous. We need logic to bring back Harmonia, your arguing won’t help.” Sun said, Moon could tell Sun hadn’t noticed what he was about to do yet. The sound filled the area, leaving Moon disoriented for a bit.

Moon expected to hear Sun shouting for Atlas, or maybe yelling at him, those were his typical reactions during this. He expected the bullet to be on the ground, or in a nearby wall. Yet all Moon heard was an almost choked noise, and the frantic movements of Sun’s mechanical arms.

He hadn’t processed what happened for a moment, since he was unable to see the scene in front of him. However as the noises continued he could tell what happened.

He didn’t miss.

This was.. new. He always missed, then got imprisoned in apathy. He felt almost triumphant, finally able to hit him, to no longer be overthrown by that automaton freak. However any sense of triumph immediately left him as he heard Atlas’ voice, echoing everywhere.

“Heart. What have you done?”
