Random Wild Arms trivia:

For whatever seemingly unexplained reason, starting with Wild Arms 2, Ragyu O Ragyura[ラギュ・オ・ラギュラ] took on a very clearly Zetton inspired redesign which more or less stuck for the rest of the franchise, undergoing only minor tweaks.

The name Ragu O Ragula however is, as best as I could ever tell, unrelated gibberish sounds; and the name came with the original design, which you can see had nothing to do with the Ultraman monster at that point. So I have no clue where that name came from or if it means anything.

ZETTON[ゼットン] aka Z-TON (and various alternates like Zetton-II, Powered Zetton, EX Zetton, Hyper Zetton, and Cyber Zetton) is a recurring monster from the Ultraman franchise. Originally the final boss of the very first Ultraman series, the name itself is a play on finality, made up of Zetto for Z, and N'[ン], which is kind of like a "last letter of the alphabet" but for kana(kind of...). It makes for an appropriate reference in a final secret boss type character.

Mission 3: Bomb Delivery

New Generation Stars: A mysterious entity hacked the Land of Light security and erased the records of Ultra Heroes, gloating they would be unable to keep their legacy alive. However they the received a message from Decker's universe, a message from the future, where they still have those records. Ultraman Zero received the Dimensionizer, and assurances they can recover the data through it. Zero in turn sent it to Z, and a data gathering mission started. Z is focusing on New Generation Heroes, by thinking on them the Future will send the data to the Dimensionizer. He starts with Ginga, noting his various techniques while focusing on the battle with Zetton (SD) and Magma Seijin (SD) on the moon, as well as Ginga Strium, then Victory and his UlTrans, X and the Cyber Armours, Orb and his Fusion Ups, Geed and his Fusion Rises, the R/B Brother's elemental powers, making a note of Grigio, before continuing with the Tri-Squad. He thinks he should be done, but there's no reaction, so he thinks about his kouhai, Trigger and Decker. He still has no luck, when Ginga contacts him, telling him he's meant to be gathering memories of himself.

Geats: After a call from Sara about how best to cut a pineapple, a mission begins, and they discover Jamato delivering fruit, which explode if disturbed, Ace getting a Magnum Buckle, and a threat is sent to DGP about the bombs, which explode at sunset. In another scramble, Keiwa and Ace are hit by a bomb after defeating the Jamato, Keiwa then realising Sara has a bomb, they all find her wrapped in wire like vines, and don't know which to cut. Neon's mother is angry about her father putting Neon in such a dangerous game, and calls her telling her to leave, Neon refuses. Beroba, a Jamato sponsor, comes to Archimedel and requests the Buffa Core, and introduces herself to Michinaga, offering support to fulfill his wish. Sae and Neon discuss feelings of family, Sae wants to maintain her skills so she can support her siblings after the family restaurant closed down. Keiwa realises he needs to find the Jamato delivering the same fruit Sara received. A mid round vote sees one vote for Neon, Sae and Ace. Finding the Jamato, Geats winds up fighting Buffa when he shows up on the Jamato side, letting Tycoon chase the Jamato, when it seals itself away he borrows the Zombie buckle, defeating it to learn he must cut the red wire. Buffa flees after being overwhelmed by pain. Niram os annoyed about Buffa, but a sponsor's support means he has to do things differently. Alone, Sae looks at a card that details the Desastar's secret mission, to hit other players with bombs.

Donbrothers: Sonoshi, Sonogo and Sonoroku declare the Donbrothers and Noto trio alike enemies of the Noto to be eliminated. The Noto's first request to ally is rejected, especially as they can't help save Kijino. Terasaki is witness to a fellow Penguin taking Taro's form and goes on delivery, Inuzaka tries to make Jiro see sense, but even when Terasaki confirms it Jiro doesn't believe it. Miho confronts the Penguin Taro, and slaps him, restoring his focus, he returns to Kakamura while she is mobbed by cats. The Noto trio are attacked again, Sonoi deciding the Ring of Forgiveness is the only option, as Taro takes Inuzaka into the forest, the Juto possessed by his will, Taro then frees himself as Inuzaka gets Natsumii down, and Cats start mobbing them and Sonoi. Rather than have Inuzaka use Murasame, Taro uses Goldon Momotaro and burns every origami in the forest, telling the Juto their creation isn't their fault, but for their crimes against humans he will force them to remain only on the forest, all the hosts start being freed. Oni Sister and Saru Brother join the battle between the Noto on the side of Sonoza and Sononi, as Sonoi uses the ring of forgiveness to release all the humans sealed by the Noto, Kijino quickly joins the battle. As the others are all dragged to the fight, Jiro finally sees his friends are all illusions. Together the Donbrothers and Noto drive off the enemy for now. Natsumi awakens with Inuzaka, while some way away, the body of Miho sinks below the water.

Outsiders: Asakura robs a bank at gunpoint, but the police are there quickly. A day earlier, he was discussing the plan with councillor Nezu Chuuta, who will get an insurance payout, swearing not to kill and intending to use the money to repay his brother's kindness. When left alone he is approached by Odin, who he doesn't remember, or the rest of the Rider Battle, and is offered the opportunity to fight in a new Battle, but he rejects the Deck. Nezu calls, only to reveal he set Asakura up, watching from the Mirror World and revealing the Scissors Deck, and the threat to the brother keeps him from acting. Odin again offers the Deck, and as he takes it Asakura recalls his memories of that other history, his true self, and as they police burst in, they find no sign of Asakura Takeshi. He comes to Nezu, having contracted Venovsnaker and stabs him to death with a broken mirror, thinking about his aim to kill his brother again. Entering the Rider Battle, he fights Gai, Raia and Zolda, outside Kamen Rider Diend watches, curious to see the moment history changes. Odin informs him he's the last Rider, and immediately has Venosnaker sicced on him, Ouja takes the Mugen Survive Card, using it to become Ouja Survive. Alongside Venoviper(?) Ouja defeats Odin, annoyed to find himself back in the normal world with no reward. The Odin Deck is snatched by Diend, who suggests he target Zein if he wants and opponent, while Diend calls out Foundation X for stealing the Mirror World research to rebirth the Mirror World, and hands over the Deck, which is used to activate repairs on a destroyed Megido Book, and Desast is reborn.

Costume ideas for Halloween 2018: Ultraman

Up next for costume suggestion ideas are ones that hail from the Fandom of Light and the outer depths of space.

Ultra Nyan

Yeah, Yeah, you know I had to start with this one. But can you blame me? He is such a cute widdle kitteh! 

Now, there are several ways to approach the idea of Ultra Nyan: 

First is the mascot costume method, making a suit like the mascot used at the now defunct Ultraman Land theme park. There are plenty of online suppliers to help in this endeavor, just google “Custom Mascot Costume”  or “White Cat Mascot” to find a base template and modify from there using existing images, some carefully placed red clothing dye and a custom tail attachment and a button on the chest to finish it. 

Carry a plush. You could go dressed as a Japanese student such as Nyan’s owner Haruka (albeit a bit older) and make a custom homemade plush of Ultra Nyan to carry around in a basket, in a backpack or in your arms.

Catgirl maid. For hardcore otaku fans, one possible option is a Ultra Nyan maid outfit. Make a dress with the red and white patterns, get some red and white neko ears, a neko tail, a custom wig or hairdo and custom color timer and tail parts for the costume.

Dress up your kitty! Depending on the temperament of your pet, this could go well or very badly. But make a little costume using string and fabric and then show how cute he/she looks to all the trick or treaters who come to your door! Also, pro-pet costume safety tip, never use costume paint! That could make your cat sick or suffer badly due to skin irritation, not to mention it would be very hard if not impossible to get off.

Ultra Kaiju Girls

A spin-off of Ultraman, Ultra Kaiju Girls asks the weird question of what if Kaiju from that series were revived as cute humanoid high school girls. There are certainly a lot of options to chose from: King Joe, Zetton, Gomora, Eleking etc.

I suggest if this be your choice to research the spin-off material such as the anime, the translated manga by Seven Seas Entertainment and promotional art for designs. Search the lore of the Ultra Series and let your imagination run wild! Find your inner kaiju!

Super Fighter Ultras

Ultraman Mebius (equipped w/ Phoenix Armor)

Once upon a time in the 1990s, Ultraman tried to ride the wave of popularity of Dragon Ball Z by doing a similar shonen action approach in a spin-off manga and OVA. It was called Ultraman: Super Fighter Legend and its premise was that Ultras could now enhance thier powers with special battle suits (so a sort of precursor to Ultraman X). You’ll need: a pre-made Ultraman suit, sculpting tools or 3D molds, paint, LEDs and circuits and other assorted materials.

Here is a sample cosplay outfit online, which you can either attempt to buy or use the images to give you a general guideline of what goes where during assembly. Alternatively, you could make some style changes such as creating a Showa style or early Heisei era style suit variant or even a female version. Hmm...a Dawn Shine, would be more Pretty Cure than Rider based on how that sounds.

Due to Ultraman Mebius having a presence in the west, cosplay stores are all but too happy to provide an outfit for you at semi-reasonable prices. Just remember the measurement sizing differences of East and West before purchase and be careful where you buy.

The MCU’s Ant-Man was designed with Ultraman as a noted influence, so that begs the question of what would have happened if another Marvel MCU hero took inspiration from Japan’s most celebrated kaiju busting superhero. 

Some have done mash-ups of Kamen Rider with Cap (I’ve even seen one such cosplay up close at Japan World Heroes 1), but who is to say other J-hero designs couldn’t work for the Sentinel of Liberty? There are plenty of designs that can make an Ultra-fied version of Steve Rogers work. 

Free Possible Example: Mix elements of Gridman Sigma, Ultraman Chuck, (Or Scott), Tiga and a stylized variant of X’s Cyber Bemstar Arm Shield and you will have a prize winning costume!

Shin Ultraman Retsuden quick summary 7

Skipping all of X, we find ourselves at the last 25 episodes. The first set probably builds up to X's movie. OP: I have to be honest I do not think there was a single original shot in there. 131: Similar to the post-Ginga S movie quarter, we have Daichi, Rui and Mamoru at the lab. Because Rui is obsessing over Pigmon's cuteness, Daichi tells them about the Ultraman episode featuring Pigmon and Red King which he somehow knows about. An image of Ultraman from the movie appears on the X Devizer. 132: Guruman is also in this episode. Since Daichi shows the Max Cyber Card I presume they're adding the Ultraman Cards to the official Inventory. Guruman somehow knows about a Max episode with a noble alien, who is compared at the end to Rudian's master. 133: After the others bring up Guruman's appetite, Guruman is somehow able to tell them about the Mebius episode where the Fanton Seijin debuted. Daichi knowing some of these stories seems more plausible than Guruman doing so I have to say. 134: After discussing the ally aliens they've met, Guruman reminds them of the Sran Seijin who impersonated Touma Kaito, and tells them about the original Ultraman impersonator, Zarab Seijin. They add a file to the database for Imit Ultraman. 135: X asks Daichi to scan Max's Cyber Card, discovering it contains data on the Antlar episode of Max. 136-137: Recalling their battle with the Guar Army and the help they received from Shou and Hikaru, Daichi tells them about Ultra Fight Victory. This he can definitely know about. After the first part they add Victory Knight and Hikari to the database, and the second they add the Knight Timbre and recall the battle together. 138: X has a vision of Tiga from the movie. Somehow Guruman knows it is Tiga and is able to showcase his battles in Super 8 Brothers, Tiga & Dyna, Battle in Hyperspace, and his team up with Ultraman. 139-141: We learn that Daichi has kept up sword training since meeting Shou. X decides to tell them about the battle with Etelgar. After the first part, Zero contacts them via the X Devizer, and sticks around for the rest of the recap. After the second part they talk a little about GingaVictory's abilities. Since they only know about Max and Nexus, Zero tells them a little about the rest. 142: After looking at the Cyber Zetton card, Guruman decides to tell them about the original Zetton episode.

Ultraman Geed Movie Scans Part 1

So as we can see its a fusion fest with Geed and Orb dishing out many of theyre fusions.

Also Juggler joining the party for some reason (Not that im complaining)

I believe everyone knows what TsuPro is trying to do having Primitive and TB (also SB and LA) fighting side by side each other and hey, this is also an opportunity to compare them side by side.

As much as i relish the fact that Trinity can don the full Cyber Gomora Armor, shouldnt he use the other ones like Zetton which is much stronger?

To the person who sent this post, sorry for the late reply but I’ve actually replied your ask twice already but each time I post the answer, it dosent show up on my dash and your ask disappears. (Weird things are happening to tumblr people)

So I’ll just answer it like this.

Before we discuss issues of power scaling for the Orb movie in particular, we need to understand what were the main cinematic objectives the producers were aiming for:

1. Celebrating Seven’s Anniversary

2. Making TOO MUCH jokes consistently throughout the whole movie to keep the movie light-hearted for the younger audiences (I know this is what TsuPro always do, but THIS TIME, it’s too much, will explain below)

3. Living up to the hype of Orb Trinity

Now I STRONGLY BELIEVE factor 1 was the factor that screwed up the entire movie. Because in order to achieve that goal, Seven has to be allocated some screentime, and in order to validate Seven’s appearance, ALOT of characters had to be powered down (TB, Zeppandon and Trinity ESPECIALLY) which basically messed up the power scale ENTIRELY. But all of this has to be done in order for Seven to ‘be there to save the day’. Now for factor 2, I believe they’ve really overdone it this time. I’ve never felt this much cringe from an Ultraman movie for a LONG TIME, so much so that I think that they’ve reached a whole new level of cheese.

In an attempt to balance all the above, I honestly think that they’ve screwed the entire movie over with enemies that were hinted to have backstories but werent explored, overkilling with jokes and satire and overhyping (and thus, placing an overemphasis on) Seven, all of which delivered an extremely cheesy and bullshit power scaling.

Therefore, by right, Orb Trinity > Seven (As youve seen in my many recent rants of the fight scenes in the orb movie when Trinity just refuses to use his abilities in the early fights)

However, when it comes to Ultra Fight Orb itself rather, it has the same issues with the movie itself. Except this time, TsuPro has to balance between Celebrating Seven’s anniversary and living up to the hype of Lightning Attacker and Emerium Slugger only. Of course the predominant factor here is seven’s anniversary and Emerium Slugger which was why Emerium Slugger was ‘overhyped’ which kinda overshadowed Lightning Attacker and (Especially) Orb Trinity.

As Ive said in an earlier post, I argued that in terms of delivering a higher DPS, Emerium Slugger is the one to go, but that is the only edge emerium slugger has over Trinity.

Also, we need to remember, Ultra Fight Orb was produced in a rush which resulted in several plotholes like:

1. 10 year training period for Emerium Slugger

Which is pure bullshit since i dont even see Orb training himself to wield the forms Burnmite, Hurricane Slash, Thunder Breastar, Lightning Attacker and heck, Orb Trinity.

TsuPro just wanted to hype up Emerium Slugger.

2. Reibatos’ weakness logic

After going back to analyse Ultra Fight Orb episodes 4-8, I find out that Reibatos, due to his presumed ‘immortality’ its just a extremely rapid regen rate which can be countered in either 2 ways:

a) Delivering high DPS attacks to overwhelm his own Regen rate (which is what they did with Emerium Slugger)

But with all honesty, i can argue that Hurricane Slash has a higher DPS than Emerium Slugger cause HS can fire 2 orb slugger shots and can also use Trident Slash, in all has an obvious higher DPS than ES’ Hyper Ultra Knock Tactic.

This further proves that ES is really just overhyped.

b) Obliterate Reibatos Regen in one go with an Extremely Powerful Attack

This would be the more convenient as I think of several attacks that Orb can already perform pre-shining field training:

- Stobium Dynamite (via Burnmite)

- Big Bang Thrust (via Hurricane Slash)

- Z-cium Ray (via Thunder Breastar)

- Trinitium Ray (via Orb Trinity)

- Cyber Super Oscillation Wave (via Cyber Gomora Armor)

- Zetton Tornado (via Cyber Zetton Armor)

Notice how all the above can be done without Emerium Slugger?

This just invalidates the subplot of Orb training in the shining field since he has access to all the above already.

Therefore, by any means, Orb Trinity is in fact, MORE than capable enough to defeat Reibatos without the shining field arc.

Literally just Eleking Tail without electricity.

Favorite MonsArmor: Cyber Zetton Armor

Best defensive capabilities and also Zetton Tornado, so yeah.

i disagree. while i do think too much filler episodes is a bad thing, filler episodes themselves aren't inherently bad. Ultraman as a series was originally built on one-episode stories. Some of my favorite episodes in the franchise are the ones that follow that formula.

To each their own I guess, although I do agree filler episodes aren’t inherently bad, but they are intrinsically.

Because the way TsuPro handles filler really cringes me out with cringey plots, and crap kaiju (I believe you’ve seen the 3 daikaiju that are gonna be featured) for as long as I remember.

And yes, although Ultraman was built to have one-episode stories that I agree, but nowadays fillers are used simply for merchandising purposes (you tell me when is the 2nd time you see Orb Ground, water and wind caliber) or introducing cool stuff but never go back to it (where did they hide the cyber Zetton armor?).

And fillers are simply a torture when all they do is to basically introduce ONE cool attack and done (they literally had 3 seperate fillers to introduce the usage of the Orb Caliber and Cyber Armors).

And thinking that TsuPro could’ve added in more to the plot to make a more AMAZING story (cause we both know they definitely can) but was sacrificed for the sake of these torturous episodes really gets under my skin.
