What Is the Process for Having a Dental Crown or Bridge?
The process for a crown is very straightforward. First, our dentist will numb the tooth before carefully preparing it, reshaping it and removing any portions damaged by infection or decay. Once the tooth is ready, we take a dental impression. The impression is used to custom make the crown in strong, durable porcelain that closely matches your natural teeth. Once the crown is ready, we can bond it permanently in place. The process for a dental bridge is very similar, as we need to prepare the adjacent teeth by removing some tooth structure to make room for the dental crowns. Once the teeth are prepared, we take an impression that is used to custom make your bridge, designing it carefully, so the replacement teeth look just like real teeth. Once the bridge is ready, we check the fit is perfect before bonding it permanently in place.

BUILDING SPENCER STREET BRIDGE. MELBOURNE. 1928
Spencer Street represents the western boundary of the Melbourne CBD. It was also the area at which John Batman established himself and from which the city grew.
This great shot was taken taken from the Victorian Railways Administration Building on the Spencer Street/Flinders Street corner. It looks south over the railway viaduct below and the Yarra River to Clarendon Street, South Melbourne during construction of the Spencer Street Bridge.
Crown Casino now occupies the south east bank and the Robur Tea Warehouse, which stands today, is visible upper right.
This shot shows progress about 12 months into construction, which began in 1927 and was completed in 1930. An event which also signalled the end of shipping unloading at the old Queen St wharf, about 500 metres east.
HISTORIC POINT OF INTEREST…
The bridge required very deep foundations and at about 20 metres down, engineers struck a red gum stump that took many days to remove.
IT WAS DATED AT ALMOST 9000 YEARS OLD… and appears to have lived for well over 400 years. It is now with Museums Victoria.
