I feel like if Dražen has slept with any of his leaders it’s probably Franjo Tuđman. Hear me out, Franjo was not only his first president who gained him independence after centuries of oppression under the rule of others, but he was also the one who set the standard for what the president of Croatia should be if they want Croatia to be a great place one day.

Franjo new the importance of Croats establishing a sense of pride for being Croatian so he set up National honor guard parades showcasing the many uniforms throughout the centuries of fighting that Croats should be proud of, not only for saving the Croatian identity but Europe as we know it in some cases like all their battles with the Ottoman Empire. He also knew about the potential of Croatian Diaspora, a potential very few presidents since him have not mentioned or bothered tapping into. Most presidents also don’t care for the honorary guard parade nowadays either saying it costs too much money and all. Which is why some argue Croats lack a sense of National pride.

I don’t know I’m rambling a little but I think after Franjo Dražen finds it hard to like his leaders. The man even converted to Catholicism at the end of his life for Croatia. His next few leaders are disappointments to him by comparison. Especially the corrupt ones. Again idk, I’ve been reading a lot about this in a book called Understanding Croatia written by a Croatian man.

I might write a fanfic about this at some point after I publish my first book as a break idk.

Zadar university

Hello everyone

The first three weeks of May, I will spend my time at the University of Zadar in Croatia as part of an international internship. The university was founded in 2002, but its origin dates back to 1396, making it the oldest institution in Croatia and one of the oldest in Europe.

One fact: The first Croatian president, Franjo Tuđman, graduated from the University of Zadar in 1965, then part of the University of Zagreb
