Now Jason would like it known that there was no mpreg situation going on. He isn’t even sure where people got that idea in the first place. Sure, he had taken a few Cores from the goons-in-white who had dared to set up in his turf. 

And sure maybe the excess energy from the pit (no wonder he’d been so irritable) was what said baby halfas (Okay, so they’re half human? Alright) had used to reform. And maybe the oldest is visibly less than a year old. 

But there Was No Mpreg Situation! He is this close to shooting someone! It was annoying (and slightly amusing) when it was just his goons, but now the Bats have seemingly got it in their heads! Dear Gotham it’s a good thing he’s not planning on like, ever revealing who he is because he would never be able to live this rumor down.

Ok so I just finished reading Alien Boys by Zylev (amazing ao3 fic, highly recommend.) so I want to propose something.

When Jason went into the pits, it changed him into a Halfa. But since he is filled with corrupted ectoplasm, the stuff is essentially overloading him. He has too much ectoplasm in his body and so he physically can’t turn into human form. (Doesn’t realize he has powers yet either.) And in this, Ghost forms seem a little less human. So he’s stuck with this pale blue skin that might glow. White hair with a small black part in the middle, glowing green eyes, pointed ears, fangs, and sharp nails (that grow back even if he tries them every day). He hasn’t taken his mask off around his gang or the city. Not once. (But his apearance is so diffenrt that not even the bats would recognize him if he took it off).

As a consequence, after he adopts/rescues the cores, he starts feeding into his more ghostly instincts. Such as purring at them, growling or hissing in ghost language every now and then, and then the goonian finally catch Hood without his mask and suddenly all the pieces start falling into place.

Red Hood is clearly an alien and these are his eggs.
