These earrings are the result of my color palette challenge. I'm so pleased with the result and really enjoyed this challenge overall. The first night I spent trying to make these earrings was so frustrating because I was originally just going to hang the large holed glass beads from the chain. So simple, I thought. Well I was sure wrong because these beads had holes just large enough that they would not hang straight no matter what I did to them! Finally I gave up for the evening after at least an hour spent fighting them. The next evening I had the idea to add these crystal chip beads and use wire and they came together so smoothly. I definitely learned some lessons here: if it's frustrating take a break, don't be so stuck on one idea that you can't see a better one, and most of all sometimes you just need to pivot! These earrings turned out to be even better than I had originally envisioned them. I am so glad that I did this challenge and I definitely want to do another one like it in the future. It definitely stretched my imagination and got me to use these beautiful lampwork glass beads that I have been holding onto until the perfect idea came to mind. I think the timing is pretty good too, since these earrings look nice for Spring and Summer. You can purchase these earrings at the link in my bio. I had a thought recently that depression and suicides are higher in December. After minimal research, I figured out that was not true at all. People reported feeling LESS depressed during December and suicide rates are low. Well, that is a good thing. Awesome. But I must not be like most people, because this whole month makes me anxious and depressed. I feel acutely lonely, withdrawn, maybe even cut off from my emotions. So, my next question is, of course, why. Why are people reporting less depression? As far as I can tell, it is good old Holiday Cheer. So, I wanted to break up my pattern and old habits by replacing them with new ones. The first habit I want to break is waiting until something is ‘perfect’ to share it. That is a block to my open and clear communication. I want to call it Light Workers in the Dark. It is going to end up being a mini course, but as I am putting it together, I am going to share it with you in exchange for honest feedback and participation.
